HAPPY NEW YEAR'S DAY EVERYBODY!!!
My Living Room is now open!
but first...
Google Maps |
The iconic Carnegie Deli in New York City closed its doors last week, after 80 years in business. I always wanted to eat there someday.
Guess I can cross that one off my bucket list!
Now, we all know the Sister Wives TLC gravy train is NOT going to last forever. That means the Browns will need to find some other venture to provide extra income to cover those mighty huge monthly expenses they must have.
Let's see. Robyn has her My Sister Wives Closet hobby business, and Meri now has her LulaRoe business. Even Janelle, ever the family overachieving worker bee, is into real estate AND has started her Strive With Janelle program for all those underachieving weight loss folks who need that extra boost and encouragement only Janelle can provide.
Christine is, well, Christine, if you know what I mean.
Christine is, well, Christine, if you know what I mean.
How will the Browns make enough moolah to keep themselves in the lifestyle they have grown accustomed to in their living large in Las Vegas?
Hmmmmm.....
Then it hit me. Kody can start his own iconic restaurant to fill the void left by Carnegie's demise!
Yes, I am proposing Kody start his own Kody's Deli Shoppe. I love the word shoppe. It lends so much class to the business name, don't you agree?
In my warped mind, I can see the following menu offerings.
The Iconic Kody Burger: He's got four wives, so you can have four different toppings! And don't forget to ask for an extra helping of his iconic secret sauce! ;-)
The Robyn Business Woman's Meal Deal: Well, we all know how lacking in imagination the Legal Mrs Kody Brown is (just check out her MSWC offerings) so her iconic meal would be the same as her hubby's, but sans the Original Three. Yep, that means only one choice of toppings. Banana eaters need not apply.
The Meri: This one is a no brainer. Catfish, baby! Cooked your way of course. Fried or broiled, it doesn't matter as long as there's a big dish of greens (hey that stands for money) on the side. AND it comes with a banana, suitably large to take an impressive, iconic selfie while you eat it. Don't forget to swallow!
The Amazing Janelle Diet Plate: After eating this amazing meal, you will miraculously gain 20 pounds! Comes with an extra BIG helping of Peanut Butter Fritos served on the side.
The Christine "What I Do For Love" Plate: Bitter and sweet, all mixed into one big old mess, that's the iconic Christine Plate. Comes with chile cheese nachos on the side, and Mock Tapioca for dessert. The wait staff will require you to say out loud "I honor your family, Kody" before being served.
What restaurant name would you suggest for the Brown Krew moneymaking venture and some of the mouth watering iconic specialty dishes they should serve?

1/8/2017 Hi Everybody! Just a quick FYI.
Once the blog page reaches about 250 comments, new comments will go to the next page. When you scroll all the way down to the end of the comments, you should see the words "Loading" or "Load more...". Just click on the words until they disappear! You should then see all the comments loaded. A new Tweet Party posting is in the works! Thank you in advance for your patience!
Restaurant name: Chez Plyg
ReplyDeleteServing "Plygs in a Blanket", right? LOL! Good one MrSpock!
DeletePlygs in a Blanket! haha
DeleteThe restaurant will have an adjoining bakery with one of those hip one-word names: "Yeast" (in honor of the infections they pass among themselves). Of course, Janelle will insist they offer tables full of cake samples, and they'll sell Lehi Lady Fingers in packs of 40 in honor of the number of lady fingers Kody has (used to have) on him every four days. The display cases will be stocked with Kissin' Kousin Kupcakes and Sol's King Cakes, served with your choice of Rainbow Sherbet (because they'll feel compelled to publicly prove their support for Mariah) or Janelle's Rocky Marriage Road ice cream (that depressing/revealing wedding toast!). Meri's Big Banana Bread will sell out every morning by sex, I mean six, but customers can only get it if they take a suggestive selfie with the loaf and post it on social media. Lots of special order requests will come in for elk wedding cakes, but they'll turn them all down because it's just too much work.
Over in the restaurant, they'll have Robyn's Ratatouille on the menu (she just stirs and stirs and stares into the pot, hoping to get a glimpse of Kody's former beady-eyed look of love), and Kodster Kidney Pie made with breast milk (as a public service reminder not to neglect your kids/withhold medical attention).
Instead of a brick and mortar restaurant, they'll end up going with a food truck built from an old R.V. Predictably, Janelle and Meri will refuse to step foot inside the R.V. at the same time.
MrSpock,
DeleterunKodyrun sure likes your restaurant name. I also like "Sloppy Seconds" because you know, in a restaurant ran by sister wives and one toad, there will be very sloppy seconds.
Just awesome WNBH, just freaking awesome. You wove so many traits of this dysfunctional family into your extensive marriage that it made it all worth while watching for these many years. Thanks for the deep belly laughs. I'm sure there is at least four flavors of pie at all times to choose from daily. (Sorry that was even too crude for me)
DeleteAgain, thank you and RunKodyrun...all too funny!
CJ I found your whole restaurant scenario quite amusing. The part about Kody's iconic secret sauce reminded me of a joke Sandra Bernhard told years ago when Elizabeth Taylor came out with Passion Perfume. Sandra said "I don't want to smell the passion of any woman who has been married 7 times". I was thinking I don't want to taste the secret sauce of any man who is married to 4 women at the same time. But the thought of those 5 actually working a restaurant business together is so outlandishly impossible, it's funny. I get the impression they would think they are above that. And they would be wrong.
ReplyDeleteThe Browns working would be outlandishly impossible.
Delete"Planet Plyg"
ReplyDelete"PLYG Heaven"
"Iconically Kody's"
"Kody's Food HAREM"
"Awesomely Iconic"
"Browns"...the new Green"
CJ, great scenario !!
Still smiling at this one..."Banana eaters need not apply."
They should name the Deli "Allred". That would assure Robyn would never set foot in there.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year CJ and fellow Bloggers! Cj, thanks so much for giving me a great laugh to start the New Year. Also, had I not checked in with you, I would have missed the show tonight and your living room snarking as I was totally confused--thought this episode didn't air until next Sunday. They didn't have a "sneak peek" like they normally do, so I thought there wasn't a new episode because of the holiday today.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year everyone
ReplyDeleteLoving this one ! How about Bananabees ? (as opposed to Applebees)
How about Bananas Multiplied (instead of Banana Split) for dessert with four scoops of icecream - plain Jane Vanilla for Janelle, green with envy pistachio for Christine, banana nut for Meri and take-my-cookies and cream for Robyn.
ReplyDeletePerfect ice cream flavors! Throw in some Ben & Jerry's Chubby Hubby and it's complete!
DeleteHa,ha,ha hilarious , perfect flavors.
DeleteMaybe Kody's Kosher Kitchen. 'Cause Kody keeps kosher - NOT!
ReplyDeleteKody's Kosher Karnival ....shoppe
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. Kody's Kosher Karnival Kourt....shoppe. I'm picturing a food court idea. Four separate kitchens since the Kodettes cannot share.
DeleteFeaturing Kristine's Knishes,Gefilte Fish by Genelle, Robchin's Rugelach and Kody's Super Secret Kosher Surprize. He'll like that because he'll never have to commit to anything AND a real kosher kitchen has two of everything. No less than he deserves.
But what about Meri, you ask? Why, Meri's Mazel Tov Wet Bar. What else?
Kody's Krap Shack
ReplyDelete'cause if we have to take Kody's Crap...so do Y O U!!
I was criticized the last time I said this, but much like Mariah Carey on New Year's Rockin Eve, I don't give a damn. I'm feelin like tonight the constipated beet face will make its return.
ReplyDeleteOh, here we go again with Meri doing that "slow-speak" that is SO annoying!! Meri, you know your lines, just spit them out !!
ReplyDeleteThen she does the down-turned mouth with the shoulder shrug.
Kody says about Meri going to GA to meet a catfished woman and says, "I don't know, maybe it IS "kosher" !!???? Kody is in his Jewish head again.
This is bizarre....just how far they are going (TLC and Browns) to deflect the obvious about Meri having the hots for Sam the Sham.
And obviously this other woman agreed to be part of Meri's story....whatever !!
However, it should have been done as a public service bit....not an episode for SW ratings !! jmo
I agree Amused. Cheryl in this scene looks very much like a picture that Wacky Jackie had up on her sham site earlier today. Jackie/Sam was calling this woman "his" 5 year stalker. But wouldn't you know it, the site is down right now. Jackie/Sam, how dare you interfere with my snark snooping. A good catfish would leave the site up during the show as a visual aid.
DeleteWhy can't they all take responsibility for anything?
DeleteMeri for having the hots for Sam and having a online/phone emotional affair. Doesn't matter if the man was real or not, there was a human she talked to and sought attention from. In her mind since Sam doesn't exist neither does her role in it. She is very real, her voice was all in, on leaving the family and running away.
Kody puts all his anger towards a weirdo that lead his "wife" into leaving him and the family. Where is the anger at Meri? Are we really supposed to believe he/ other wives have not listened to those long voicemails again and again?
I think the affair did change the family.
It got Christine out of the dog house and back on safer denial ground.
It allowed Janelle to go back to numbing out with food and not having to work hard for attention with the weight loss.
It empowered Robyn to usurp her(Meri) as queen bee and change all their financial futures.
And it allowed Kody full permission and relieve any guilt of putting all his eggs in Robyn's basket. (Eeeeewwwww)
The original wives are all put out to pasture and Robyn and Kody are monogamous.
The "bad marriage" for 12 years is yet another ploy to not blame Robyn for destroying this family.
I believe Meri is depressed and has been a hard relationship to maintain for that period of time, but all the "lover" talk and Meri always front and center hanging on Kody during every scene leads me to believe that Kody held her in high regards and in the catbird spot right up until Robyn entered the show.
Oh yes Amused the two word, thoughtful pause, two more words, draw out last one and finally 4 words in a row to finish the thoughtless simple sentence. It's not like she is spoon feeding us physics here. They are simply tiny thoughts...
Delete" iiiiiiiii went tooooo, ....Georgia.....to meeeeeet....with another woman catfished.
WTF , was that really hard to spit out. Do they tell her to drag it out to fill air time. Or is it her way to keep the camera on her the longest. I just can't do anything but stare at her huge pores and unusually high penciled on eyebrows. If I don't add the visual stimulation and side thoughts I cannot stick around for the sloooow, pregnant pause, methoughtical speech pattern. If it really happened and those are your thoughts why does it take so long to spit out? Has to be a script because nothing sounds sincere or true.
@Batsh*t Yes!; I remember at the time the catfish incident blew up, reports were that someone was tipping off the TLC production about Meri flirting openly with Sam the Sham; my thought is perhaps Cheryl was the one who alerted TLC/production crew and exposed the catfisher, because I really don't believe Meri would be convinced by a stranger such as Cheryl. For goodness sake, her own daughter told her Sam wasn't real and tried to intervene. My thought is that TLC "rewarded" Cheryl for the heads up by including her in an episode. It just was too random.
DeleteMeri doesn't want to give the catfisher anymore acknowledgment yet here it is being spewed all over national television.
ReplyDeleteThen, Meri says, just before the commercial, that she was upset because the CF knew where Mariah was going to college! Earth to Meri: The whole SW audience knows where Mariah goes to college. WHAT A BUNCH OF CRAPPOLA!
Reminds me of the sit-down talk Kody and Meri had in the yard, when Kody asked Meri if she had considered the possibility Mariah was mad at her because she had kicked Kody out, and after a shocked pause (really didn't look like she had considered that), Meri acts like Kody is nuts and tells him she hadn't talked with Mariah about that yet. Besides the fact it had been going on for about a year by then, does Meri think the other kids hadn't picked up on/heard about the new rotation and talked about it with Mariah, or that Kody, Mindy, Annie, or one of the other moms hadn't discussed it with Mariah? It's sad to see Meri still using denial as a go-to response.
DeleteOh wow..the BS is just flurrying like a blizzard !!
ReplyDeleteMeri's story is beyond anything believable. Allegedly, she had Sam sign off on disclosing any info she gave him about their finances, etc....!!
She has a script that is iron-clad that she was the prey. Details, details are flying. All of which is news to anyone who followed this sordid story. So why NOW? Why not last season ??!!!
Easy answer..ratings !!!!
And Meri....the "you kmow" every fourth word is aggravating !!
Agreed Amused. This really made no sense. Someone contacts her about wanting to be part of the business/invest in the business and she doesn't mention this to her business partners and draws up a non-disclosure agreement for the catfisher to sign? I own a business with my husband and I couldn't imagine any situation where I would be conducting business without his knowledge and definitely wouldn't be drawing up legal documents on my own. Makes absolutely no sense.
DeleteIf Meri felt so threatened why didn't she go to the police? This is soooo boring and ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteMeri is so full of it. She's totally glossing over her part in the whole thing. I understand it's embarrassing but she just shouldn't go there if shes not going to be honest. I realize she was played by this weirdo but I think shes overplaying the threat she felt from this person in order to look more sympathetic.
ReplyDeleteYup.... I understand why she sought attention outside her marriage and I understand why she was vulnerable, but at the end of the day, the only reason that she didn't leave her husband is because Sam was a woman. If Meri was a happily married woman she wouldn't have taken the bait. She felt threatened at the end because she didn't want to be exposed -- I feel she wouldn't have minded the exposure if Sam was a man and she ended her marriage with Kody. Instead, she ended up ashamed and alone and having to grovel to her sister wives and to Kody.
DeleteDoes Meri use a teleprompter when she speaks so slowly? She could have a reading disorder that makes the use of reading her script so very painfully slow.
ReplyDeleteWhat about the ba jillion voicemails we all heard that Meri left for Sam? "babbbyyyy, babbyyy please call me back".
ReplyDelete"Baby I love you I just do......" OMG Meri just let it go. You believe your own lies. Yes Jackie catished you, but be honest you were in a full fledged phone relationship with him.
Are they saying "bouquet" wrong? It sounds so weird!
ReplyDeleteOh geez..hope TLC is paying Cheryl enough to be a part of this!!
ReplyDeleteWatching the two of them, laughing, comparing notes like drinking buddies ...about a sociopath is bizarre.
I am having a hard time with this one. So far, the only thing that interests me is looking at Meri's new eyebrows.
ReplyDeleteWhy oh why are they so high above her brow bone?
DeleteLOL, when I saw them I thought to myself that she had taken Mariah's comments about them to heart, but had overcompensated. I guess she has no one in her life who will tell her how silly she looks - and she does look silly with them drawn on like that. Where in the heck are her real eyebrows? lol
DeleteHow is it even close to ethical to go to a psychologist to discuss Jackie/Sam's personality disorder, without Jackie/Sam? If only Liza was gonna diagnose Meri's personality disorder.
ReplyDeleteI always thought about a therapist as a professional job. The two tank top casual look is a bit surprising.
ReplyDeleteGood point.
DeleteBatSh*t Yes! Right on the money.
DeleteLet's get back to Mykelti and her time-consuming flower petals.
ReplyDeleteWell, it would save a lot of money, but I don't think I would want to make enough of those to go on tables for 400. They didn't look too bad from a distance, but up close, well, I would want something different for my daughter.
DeleteWell MrSpock, God Bless Christine. She is a good sport and despite the plyg situation a good Mom. Four months of fake flower making. Gaaahh!
DeleteBatSh*t Yes! I agree once again.
DeleteI'm not convinced it would save all that much money. When you actually add the costs of all the material and the time spent, it probably ends up being very close to the same price. Plus, who wants to spend 4 months making flowers?
DeleteMeri said that the catfisher targeted women who were widowed, lonely, divorced....Meri you did fit a few of those.
ReplyDeleteOh, come ON !!!........
ReplyDeleteWe are to believe that this new therapist/expert has never heard of Meri Brown, plyg, one of 4 wives and recently divorced (due to "family restructuring") so all must be explained again????
Anything to fill up the episode...!!!
It almost looks like Meri is on a high for this filming. Seriously, she is almost giddy.!! And if there is a special therapist on catfishing....why oh why wasn't she contacted "privately" to help Meri deal with her trauma??
Why didn't Nancy suggest more knowledgeable help.....??
And why would any therapist do the fluff session for the camera?? ($$)
Meri says that CF only picked vulnerable women...no kidding, Meri, ya think?.
cliffhanger for the commercial break...
ReplyDeleteMeri saying Kody was trying to get her to leave..and she did think about it. SO why did we see Kody in all his perplexed glory last season when he asked if she was really thinking about leaving??
Uhh.....the BS is just center stage tonight.
Yes, bring on the flower petals..yes, even Sobbin with another morality cookie, stolen heart story..anything but Meri and the CF.
Please , enough !!
Please please please as soon as Mariah spills her news let us know what it is... I'm at a football game and don't want to have to fast forward for 3 hours to find out... my money is on her leaving the AUB
ReplyDeleteWill do, Hager's harem.
DeleteI'm thinking a change in college.
According to the Facebook page CJ was absolutely right!! I can't!
DeleteI'm thinking any of the females "put out to pasture" in polygamy feel "widowed, lonely, divorced" at one point or another....
DeleteHave to laugh.
ReplyDeleteChristine's TH narrating the photo shoot of Mykleti/Tony pre-wedding pics is hilarious. She sounds like she is reading a Dr, Zeus bedtime story.
Does anyone else think Nancy is about as useless as tits on a boar?
ReplyDeletei think tits on a boar may have more useful purpose than this Nancy person
DeleteKody says that when Meri came back from her Atlanta trip, it was as if "her tank was filled"....damn, he is eloquent !!
ReplyDeleteA shallow observation (but seriously this epp requires finding something distracting)....
Kody's beady little eyes look they are receding into his head under that Neanderthal forehead and brow.
Looking at Kody's eyes, it almost seems as though he has reverse raccoon eyes. Like the goggles from a tanning bed.
DeleteHis eyes look so intense and dead, like he has no soul. I prefer him when he is hyperactive and jumping around so you can't see his eyes deep in his Neanderthal brow. At least the animation hides the beady rat eyes.
DeleteLisasumms, I have been trying to figure out why Kody made me so uncomfortable when I looked at Sister Wives. You are so right about the intense dead looks of his eyes and I don't believe he has a soul...If he did, it left a VERY long time ago. He doesn't seem normal. Joe Darger (another polygamous) have the same look as well.
DeleteI think the only polygamous man that has been on TV that don't have that look, IMHO, was Brady Williams (My Five Wives). He just looked tired and strained all the time but at least he had life in his eyes.
Ahhh..so now they are rewriting the Sobbin/Meri lend-a-uterus story !!
ReplyDeleteMeri and Kody declined Sobbin's oh so sincere offer *because* as Meri says, "their marriage was in a "funky" place and had been for YEARS !! Gosh..Who knew ??
Question.
Is *anything* shown the last 8 years ripe for a rewrite at any time when ratings are needed??? Apparently so !!
Kody: "We haven't been in a good place with each other for 12 years...." (quote from memory just hearing it now...might be slightly off...)
ReplyDeleteUmmmmm? So, you are admitting that most of the entire show has been a big lie? The anniversary trips....the closeness you found when you moved into the Las Vegas rentals and had so much alone time at Meri's mile-away house...blah, blah, blah. Well, happy you finally admit what was obvious to anyone watching. Geez.
Also - obvious the rest of y'all also are not happy. And obvious Robyn is a selfish, conniving person.
But I guess you'll admit that later, huh?
We've been saying it for yearsssss!!
DeleteThe show is a sham....it has been created and acted.
Just think of all of the Meri's "lover" tweets...and on and on !!
All made for TV and ratings and money !!
And no Brown can claim that "the show" ruined things. Not when Kody says it was 12 years of discord with Meri. And Janelle tells her daughter publicly at her reception about hating people and about horrible people. And good lord. think of all the lies and BS in their hastily written book??!!
I loved it last week when they showed footage from Robyn's wedding to Kody and in the wive's couch segment, Meri announced that she was "best friends" with all these women. Contrast this with revealing a few weeks prior that she and Janelle don't even make eye contact when they see each other outside their homes....and couldn't even drive together to their therapist appointment. They have lied from the very beginning about everything. Their relationships, their finances, etc. it is hard to believe anything they say.
DeleteIronic doesn't even come close to their actions here... Marriage " funky for 12 years" huh... So funky didn't want to bring a child into it but ok to bring your husband a fresh considerably younger wife. After say 4 years of being "funky".
DeleteAgain they have to rewrite history to pad the "funkiness" by 4 years before Robyn. Only new lie of the show.
Just like all liars they say it over and over again until they believe it themselves, that's why we are constantly rehashing old scenes over and over. If you show it enough times it becomes true.
I bet you we will hear the "funky for 12 years" now for the next few episodes or new season.
I am doing the math to think what happened "12 years ago" and according to their book - don't think they had been in Lehi and the big house all that many years before the show started. Like maybe exactly 4? Is this when it all went south? When Janelle returned to the fold and Meri had to share a house again with her?!!
DeleteYes Big Sky...when Kody stated 12 years ago and then quietly said that their marriage had been rocky..."since Wyoming" I was trying to iron out the timeline in my head. I believe 12 years ago was just before they moved to Lehi, so Janelle would have been on her own and then her inheritance was what bought the Lehi house. It really sounds like their marriage went "rocky" about the time that additional wives were added, the other wives had babies quickly and easily and Meri set down all the rules for dividing money and of course no affection in front of her! At the root of their issues is the biggest issue of all. Polygamy.
DeleteWhoa. Mariah actually did come out on TV. Wow.
ReplyDeleteGood for her. Glad to see she has developed confidence and emotional bravery (and isn't following in her mom's example in those respects).
DeleteLet's hope sharing this news with her family on the show was actually her choice/idea, and not something the producers or her parents suggested to her.
DeleteI knew that was going to be Mariah's secret
ReplyDeleteWell.......Mariah has come out !!
ReplyDeleteShe announced she is gay.
(CJ, if you want to not have a west coast spoiler...delete this)
How did the parents take it? Are they ok with this?
DeleteMeri had commented during the rehearsal for Maddies wedding how emotional Mariah was. I thought at the time she was probably harboring a personal fear. This is how they will get more seasons, maybe that is why Robyn is feeling "blessed"
DeleteWow wow wow, never thought they would allow this to happen. Mariah gay.
DeleteI have to give Mariah credit for announcing this news on tv. Kudos to her.
DeleteI have to wonder:
IF they were still living in Lehi, would Mariah have had the courage to tell her parents she was gay?
IF they were still living in Lehi, would Mariah have even admitted to herself she was gay?
IF Mariah had never gone away to college, would she have come out to her parents when she did (or at all)?
Good for Mariah. Shame on Robyn's Schadenfreude musings. She is absolutely horrible and completely transparent to me.
Deletei hardly recognize christine mom. she is quite glamorous in the library during the mariah big news clip.
ReplyDeleteHoly cow! Marriah is gay?! I didn't watch but saw her thank people on twitter for the support. Can honestly say I didn't see it coming though I'm not surprised. I know a few people on here were throwing the idea around but I always take speculation with a grain of salt. That's a big deal! I say I'm not surprised because it seems like all the other girls the same age seem to be racing to the alter to get married.
ReplyDeleteDid you notice the smile she (grandma) had on her face when she was on the stairs and in the library? She had to have known.
DeleteHappy New Year CJ and longtime & new snarkers!!
ReplyDeleteWOW!!! All snark aside, I did not see that one coming...I appreciate everyone in the Living Room for keeping me posted...
ReplyDeleteA couple things... first off, as much as we snark on the Browns, as one human being to another human being, I do wish all of them peace and love... I believe every person alive is entitled to a life of peace and love...
As a person who is very sensitive to LGBTQ issues I wish Mariah well on her journey, and let there be no mistake, coming out is a journey, not just an announcement... even if that announcement is on national television. It will be interesting to see how the Browns and TLC handle this subject matter... and I pray pray pray this not used as throw away fodder for a contrived story line filled with meaningless talking heads...
Meri looked as though she were hit with a wet bag of shi* when Mariah gave that news. Mariah has never been my favorite but she appears to be dealing with life in a more honest manner than her parents. Of ALL the Browns, I've seen the most growth from her. Just think of the huge leap it took to be a young girl holding steadfast in her polygamous Mormon faith all the way to a college girl who identifies as a feminist and is gay. No wonder Mariah has been all emotional and bratty all these years. She must have been having some big internal struggles with her faith and sexuality.
ReplyDeleteMeri did look a little put out. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that she only produced one child for Kody's celestial kingdom. She probably needed Mariah to land a polygamy Prince to redeem herself.
DeleteMy thoughts exactly InfiniteResources, now all the bratty behavior makes sense. She in her mind and religion could not ever see herself living her true authentic self. Makes sense why she was eager to be a sister wife. Less of the man.
DeleteI imagine Meri was sad Mariah didn't share the news with just her first; it's a strong signal of how Meri "ranks" among the moms in closeness to Mariah now. That's big loss for Meri from prior years.
DeleteAnd there's a whole new set of life dreams/goals that Meri will have to let go of and mourn. She wanted a lot of kids - but could only have one and had to not only watch her husband have 17 children with other women but was also expected to be excited about those children and "share in the joy" of all those moments. Very tough. And now she has to let go of dreams for her only child's life that she wanted to participate in. I appreciate that it's Mariah's life and that Meri will have a chance to participate in all the joy that will come throughout Mariah's life choices and relationships. But it won't be in the way Meri expected and no doubt spent many hours envisioning and dreaming about. She doesn't have other children to live those dreams through; the "bonus kids" clearly are not the same, as their birth mother's clearly take precedence in the family. This is a real loss for Meri.
It's right to support and love Mariah through her life choices and through this process of being honest about it with her family. And Meri also deserves some time and space to mourn the loss of the dreams she had for the future with her daughter and also time to start to envision the new paths Mariah will take and how she might be able to be a part of that journey with her daughter.
Agree Meri did not look happy. I think she was still holding out hope that she was going to produce the one child who was openly stating she would follow their faith and participate in plural marriage. Think how far that would have gone with Kody to give Meri some street cred! Good for Mariah for telling the adults. I wish her well. I have to think the other mothers looked a bit pleased at the news. I really think they relish anything that makes another mother look less in Kody's eyes or they secretly delight when something unsettling happens to Meri. I get the impression Meri is the least liked by the other wives.
DeleteIm just now watching this episode. It appears that Kody still isn't over this catfishN' debacle. He's totally done w/ Meri. The way he looks at her is w/ pure disdain. He seems to only tolerate her b/c of filming. When TLC decides to cut the cord w/ the Browns, I believe that Meri will finally leave. When Meri was done talking to K&R about her trip to Atlanta to meet Cheryl, I noticed that Robyn gave Meri a hug before she left. No wave, goodbye or even a see ya later was exchanged between Meri & Kody.
ReplyDeleteI do not think there is any doubt that the majority of people would wish others peace and love.To think that these polygamous women are less than human and deserve this life of suffering would be cruel in my opinion.I do see the hypocrisy here that Mariah is free to break out of the bounds laid out for her Mother and she will be supported yet Meri finding her way is a point of scorn. At some point in our lives we hope our daughters see us s people too.I am dissecting this whole episode and it is ugly .
ReplyDeleteHi nonsharer
DeleteI've read your posts for years and I agree with you, that this episode is particularly "ugly"...
This show has been such bullsh*t for so long, that when the cameras catch an iota of truth it seems out of place... watching this show is an exercise of finding moments of accidental honesty...
Does Mariah say she felt Meri "felt more than she was letting on" for the catfish because she herself had a sexual attraction to women? Everyone said it did not happen because the catfish was a woman but Mariah as a lesbian would see that was possible.
ReplyDeleteI didn't get that impression. I thought she simply was calling BS on the whole "I was never going to leave...." and "nothing real happened here..." crap Meri and Kody have been spewing. She was basically saying that her Mom did feel something real and that if this Sam person had been a real person offering a real chance for her to leave the situation in the cul-de-sac, she'd have been packed and driving out of those plyg-gates by sundown!
DeleteCan we talk about Christine for a moment during this episode?! Christine was feeling all uncomfortable during Mykelti & Tony's photo shoot b/c she felt like M&T were being too intimate & comfortable w/ each other. Also newsflash Christine, monogamist couples display this type of love & affection between one another. So stop being so prude. I kind of feel, like Christine secretly wishes she had that type of 'lovey dovey touchy feely' relationship w/ her own spiritual hubby. IMO, as much as Kody & Christine want to believe that their little girl married as a virgin, I'm thinking she got some fun experience while trying to find herself in St. George.
ReplyDeleteI am not surprised that they sat on the couch and heard swapping hormones was bad and later on the couch heard that lessons how to French kiss from your brotherinlaw was in the works. The other issue that stood out in my mind was that Meri was comparing herself to monogamous divorced, single and widowed women.Funny how we are boring monogamists until they want to jump on our boat , use us and say they are the same as us.I can guarantee one misses a partner who lives with you fulltime more than one who visits you on rotation. In monogamy you live in really close contact. You can not blame the law, your sisterwives or anyone else that the man is not present .You have to tackle these issues one to one ,no scapegoating.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree! Meri still hasn't taken any responsibility in this catfishN' fiasco. She's definitely still portraying a victim. She says she was vulnerable b/c she was divorced, an empty nester, Kody & her SW was always busy?!? She's making it seem like she was always home alone in the cult de sac. I do believe that she was alone at home but not totally alone in the cult de sac. I'm just not buying her whole story or explanation.
DeleteI think the move to Vegas has allowed these children to see others their age in the wider world context and these kids are grabbing it with both hands and getting out without the Plyg albatross around their necks.
DeleteI noticed in therapy that meri wasn't wearing her ring on her left hand. Is this new? I thought they all had matching rings. Kody needs to poop or get off the pot with meri. He seems to acknowledge that there has always been issues between them (no surprise) and that they've been able to ignore them and focus on the rest of the family (I agree) and he tried to impress his level of fault on Mariah. And yet he seems less than willing -- actually downright reluctant and -- to work with the counselor more regularly with meri. The look on merits face when the counselor suggested regular meetings and intense focus on repair and Kody basically admitted that he was excited or even open to doing so was heartbreaking. If he gave her one iota of caring, I think meri would recommit to him fully. But it's not fair to not just let her go. Like with the baby-ivf issue, he just pushes her to make the "right" decision so he's not the bad guy and he becomes the aggrieved party. He doesn't want her, will never forgive her, but he won't tell her that explicitly and so she keeps hanging on, pathetically. I was actually more impressed with the therapist this episode. She called them on not being affectionate, on making strides in just being civil to one another, on saving important discussions for the camera and not her, and on shooting barbs at each other passive aggressively. It's like she just started watching the show. Also, I kind of respected the tank top therapist for saying it was irresponsible to diagnose a person she never met and that she could GUESS why SOMEONE might behave that way, but wouldn't use labels or diagnoses, instead saying, it's not about her, it's about what brought you to her and how you recover. Too long of an episode, but SOOO excited to see them deal with out and proud Mariah next week after years of saying the odds were that they'd have a gay child or 2 and that they'd be totally cool with it if it happened.
ReplyDeleteLike this post.
DeleteWhile I am not watching the show, I love getting the scoop in the living room. So, Mariah is gay? I must admit that didn't come as a shock to me. I believe that of all the kids, Mariah has been the most honest and true to herself. Even while attending a conservative university and living in a town that is known for some fundamental ideas, she was able to come to terms with her true self. I always thought Maddie would be the one who broke totally free from the control of daddy dearest and his "Plyg Sty" but she caved. While she claims she is monogamous all the way, I suspect she is still trapped in searching for a father figure. The rebellious child, Mykelti, has tried and probably succeeded in getting her daddy's disapproval by marrying a man who is totally different from daddy dearest. I really think Kody is able to push the girls around, even Mariah, and get their lives on TV when he is not able to get much from the older boys. I don't for one second see any of the boys agreeing to let Kody and the show film or discuss their private lives. I may be wrong. But, good for Mariah...she has grown by leaps and bounds and not the same way Janelle has grown...ok that was just wrong.
ReplyDeleteJust one note, runKodyrun, Westminster is hardly conservative. It is one of the most liberal colleges around, not to mention, Salt Lake City, is also quite liberal as well. Sure, Utah County more south of SLC is conservative, but most certainly NOT Westminster or SLC.
DeleteIn Utah culture SLC and Westminster may seem crazy "liberal." But they are nothing of the sort. Mariah may have to leave the state or spend her life in a 24 block bubble surrounding the campus in order to breathe free. I wish that was not the case.
DeleteAnony 12:16,
DeleteI retired from teaching an R1 university and because of my position, I spent years attending and participating in academic conference all over the world. One year, I attended a conference at Westminister and because my paper was on the language of the socially oppressed, focusing on gay, lesbian, bi, and transgendered students, the faculty sponsoring the conference wanted me to clear that not all language could used in this presentation. They reminded me they were governed by conservatives and if anyone took offense to my presentation, they could lose all funding for future conference hosting endeavors. At our university, all couples are free to participate in PDA and the student couples (hetero and same sex) hold hands and kiss publicly. I don't really want to debate what constitutes conservative but having presented all over the world, including the middle east, no one except Westminister folks have ever censored my presentations.
Soooooooo bets on when he takes wife #5? If he's not interested in fixing his relationships with his wives (that felt weird and grammatically wrong to type), surely he is going to move on.
ReplyDeleteThat depends on what Robyn would allow. She's not like the other three wives in terms of personality (easy for Kody to manipulate into doing or accepting things he wants them to do or accept).
DeleteI just do not see Robyn being ok with Kody marrying someone younger and prettier than her. She may threaten to divorce him and take him to the cleaners (house, child support, alimony, etc.) if he seeks out more wives. Maybe such threats would make Kody reconsider additional wives or maybe he'll say "Do it, I don't care. I do what I want because I am a man."
IF I am wrong and Robyn does allow Kody additional wives, I can see her picking out the women for him.
And it would probably happen the last season of Sister Wives due to the potential backlash from the audience or after the show has been cancelled.
While watching this week’s show, I came to believe that the move to LV was the end of happiness for Meri. When living in Lehi, Utah Meri lived in the same house, under the same roof as Kody and the others. Even though she and Kody were not getting along, they saw each other. Janelle said at one point that she usually sees Meri a few times a week. That sounds as though she gets a glimpse of her, not as though she sits down and visits with her. Kody and Meri did not see each other for the few days between Meri’s return from Georgia and seeing the counselor. This family no longer functions as one. It is possible they never did, but living under one roof made the lives of the family members closer. The great money grab may have helped the children to see the world in another light, but it has resulted in the adults becoming completely separated.
ReplyDeleteAt most they are occasional cordial neighbors that always intend on getting together but really have no desire to make it happen. Janelle and Meri aren't even cordial.
DeleteI think all the women are seething all the time. The laughs are fake, the off camera time sounds icy and the memories are always explained differently. It must be hard for them to have that pesky video tape around for the record now.
Listening to Kody at the therapist session when he was realizing that their issues go back in time further than they both realized. Meri kind of himmed and hawed over the timeline, but Kody let it slip that he thought it "went back to Wyoming". Meaning their issues went back before the Lehi house and yes...back to when Meri and Janelle had issues...except for their three year Honeymoon as lowly monogamists...it sounds like their issues began with polygamy/Janelles coming into the marriage/Christine etc etc.
DeleteMeri may have agreed to polygamy to get the guy she had the hots for, but she isn't cut out for it. She doesn't have the personality (or independence that Janelle talks about) and is a emotionally needy person. It sounds to me like Meri may have put her foot down with Kody long ago...""You get the wives, BUT you have to give me everything that I want, equal money for each wife regardless of their needs, I get my personal space without interference (her past insistence on how things should be decorated is of great importance when they were talking to the Darger family) , and no affection in front of me.""
Polygamy is soul sucking to women. That much has been very clear, no matter how many times they try to gloss it over and "say" the right thing. We can clearly see the gaping holes from their actions.
I would agree with everything yo said but instead of calling Meri "needy" I would say she has needs like any other woman, that are unfulfilled by polygamy.Meri's perfectionism is a trait seen in other people. Some because of their personality type. Some because they have little control over their lives.
DeleteAgree with much said here. Interesting also that Kody and Meri drove to the counselor separately. That seems to happen a lot with many of the adults. Strange. They are at best neighbors - and it seems like pretty distant ones. I think the proximity offered by the cul-de-sac is good for the kids; it is meaningless for the adults. And as I reflect back on how they all talked about it when trying to move out of rentals and into a cul-de-sac, they actually talked more about the kids being brothers/sisters as the driver/benefit.
DeleteI also think Meri was happier in Utah. Being a part of the household was probalby less lonely - and if I recall, she talked about how she was close to the older kids and they'd come hang out in her apartment in the evenings. She would have lost that when they moved. But beyond their household, she was also closer to her extended family (parents, siblings, etc.) in Utah. She lost all of that.
Great thread of posts here.
DeleteI've let go of watching the show after the first 'episode' of this season, have been catching up on the narrative here, and am surprisingly not compelled to watch even once 'on Demand' finally has the episode available.
I am still drawn to Cynical's living room for the lively catch-up. "Shoppe" has such an americana/artisinal vibe, agree.
One thing seems clear....
ReplyDeleteEven Nancy, Plyg therapist extraordinaire, occasionally sneaks into CJ's Living Room reading the blog since *finally* she says *on camera* that perhaps Kody and Meri would benefit from counseling "away from the cameras."
Way to go, Nancy...glad you finally saw the light and attempted to sound like a real therapist!
Yes, I thought Nancy did better this time around as well. I also thought it was telling when she said that they both need to make more time to come into her office to deal with issues. Meri was all in...Kody was more crickets. He never said definitively that he even was willing to make time to work on things with her. It's easy to hide in polygamy ...he just distracts himself with all the other issues going on in the family and Meri can deal with everything herself.
DeleteWhen is Meri going to come out?
DeleteShe dresses like a trucker.
She fell in love with Robyn, and brought her in to the marriage so she could finally have a BFF.
She fell for a "female" catfish, even though she pretended to be a man, no doubt the fem talk and energy was enticing.
She is not feminine no matter how much eyeliner she cakes on or highlights she puts in her hair.
I have always thought that her and Kody had reverse personas. He being fem and her being masculine.
I think her self imposed lonliness is hiding from her true self, and a life that is unfulfilling.
I think her perfectionist M.O. is a control behavior that if everything is perfect she will be happy, again not living an authentic life.
I've always thought she is way more interested in living around the other women than living with Kody.
I mean anyone who does not take advantage of all those wonderful bonus children to bring joy to their lives are just really frustrated in their life a circumstances. If I were an empty nester in her position I would enjoy all that family has to offer. I have always thought Meri was a mean girl but the tweets of her decorating a 12 foot tree alone to perfection when there are tons of excited kids around is just sad and depressing.
(I would invite everyone that wanted to come over to decorate and then move the record after they leave if I wanted it perfect. )
Again her all or nothing behavior with no room for grey would make it miserable to incorporate her true self in her religion and family/marriage.
IMHO all the isolation and alienation from the family is prep for her eventual seperation from Kody and the family. Those tapes don't lie, she was ready to leave at any moment.
Lisasumms, I agree with what you said and have thought that many times before even though it may not be the most popular point of view. There is truth in it.
DeleteDo have to wonder if the editors/producers have amnesia or at this point, simply don't give a crap about continuity or any semblance of credibility !!???
ReplyDeleteIn the first hour when Meri and Kody have a heart to heart, they both acknowledge that the Sobbin offer of her uterus wouldn't have ever worked since their marriage was in a bad place and had been all along.....
But then in the third hour with the re-fried, redundant clips, they air the scenes from back then, including the Sobbin offer, the fertility doc visit, the Meri wanting a baby rabies, etc? To what end did they air those apparently contrived scenes when in the *first hour* they aired both of M and K admitting that no way were they ever on board as a couple at that time???
Is there that much indifference to viewers, or are the producers deliberately accelerating this faux show to the dead-show landfill?
Constant revolving door of lies, Amused, clearly this show is on life support because they are pulling out all the stops... Marriage after marriage, coming out kids and constant retread of bulls#*t they know we know like the back of our hands. Hence the back to back lies= something to talk about, instead of true family interaction.
DeleteI think they did a horrible job of putting this episode together. There was too much back and forth with their interviews. Present time and back to 4 years ago, then back to present time interviews. UGH
DeleteThey had Meri describing in detail about picking Lindsey/Sam up and driving around with her/him in her car and then Kody is talking about Meri never meeting 'him'. Well, either she never told Kody about not only meeting 'him/her' but that they drove around together or they were airing old talking-heads with him thinking Meri had never met the Batfisher.
And, for the love of all that is chocolate, when is someone going to tell Kody and Meri, and the other wives, to be honest with themselves and each other? Gahhhh
Therapist Nancy did better than she's ever done with K&M this episode, but she's still got a longggg way to go with them. I think Meri might almost be ready to accept the truth about her life situation and choices, but she, and they all, need someone to be honest and stop coddling them but I don't think Nancy is that person. I think hell will freeze over before it happens, though. smh
If TLC were to do a show on your family what exactly would you be willing to offer up to the world?
DeleteI would not pimp out my family for a TLC show.
DeleteWould you let the world know of sexual problems your partner is having, or an autistic child, or your teenage son caught for drink driving??? Just wondering what you consider fair game.
DeleteAnonymous @ 12:08 and 4:34,
DeleteI don't know who your comments and questions were addressed to, but I wouldn't have to make those decisions because I'd never choose to be on a reality show.
IMO, the Brown's can't claim to be ignorant of the "liabilities" of reality tv because it's been around a very long time and the intrusiveness of it is common knowledge. They're adults and made conscious decisions to open up their lives to the cameras and the scrutiny that came with them. I'm sure they don't like it, I know I wouldn't, but it comes with the "fame" and money.
I don't think they have to share everything, however when they choose to talk about things like seeing a therapist and then actually filming their sessions and discussing things like infertility, young adult sexual curiosities and urges, marital problems, childbirth, etc., then I don't think they've got much they can claim is off limits.
They opened the door and they're getting the feedback and scrutiny that came with their choice. They can choose to not answer, but it doesn't mean that viewers, fans, non-fans, can't or shouldn't ask.
Very hard to put yourself in their shoes. Would be for me. Their right to the Plyg lifestyle is theirs to make. Is it good for the women in these relationships? No I don't think so in the long run they all seem to be alone looking for someone to take them in, in their old age. I wonder if they are beginning to wonder how they will end up? Meri has for sure. It is a muddle that is not likely to end well.
DeleteI agree with everyone who was frustrated with the shoddy editing on this episode. It was appalling. The editing hit a new low! During the segment while Cheryl and Meri had dinner - one minute they would be eating the entree and it was dark outside and then the next second they would be eating their first course and it was light out. I was getting dizzy!
DeleteAnd I forgot to add this insult to injury - they "pretended" the wine trip happened after the dinner on the following day - all while wearing the same outfits they had on at the dinner the night before. It is really an amateur production!
DeleteLOVE "I would not pimp out my family for a TLC show". Fair game according to what rules? One's personal existentialism? Modern day tv reality rules? Come on, we all must find our moral and ethical center in the mayhem.
DeleteKody sure can talk the righteous man talk but not so much walk the righteous man walk. What would Winn have to say about this circus?
did Kody make any comments on his twitter regarding Mariah's news??? has Robyn? i am blocked from all of them, I looked thru up thread but dont see the reactions from the parents you would expect.the enthusiasm they show for other story lines is missing.
ReplyDeleteWell they were all on board for alternative marriage when it furthered their agenda of decriminalizing polygamy. Now when it hits home they go silent. As always this crew is a day late a dollar short, procrastinating even a statement on a life statement that Mariah should be publicly validated since she made it public. I mean how hard would it be to say, " Eventhough our religion has specific positions on same sex relationships we love and honor our child and her courage to live her authentic life"
DeleteNope, they are so ignorant and rude and selfish in their own made up life that they don't even recognize or acknowledge truth.
Yes, Janelle tweeted about it:
DeleteJanelle Brown @JanelleBrown117
We love and support @mariahlian . She is our daughter. Love love you Mariah! #SisterWives
Janelle also retweeted Mariah's Tweet:
mariah @mariahlian
wow okay y'all making me cry with your support. thank you thank you thank you thank you️
Meri and Christine both tweeted some sillier tweets...focused on the suspense of the big moment and suspense of waiting until next week.
It doesn't surprise me too much that most of them are largely silent; it was supposed to be an exciting cliffhanger about how they'd react to this "big news." They are television personalities first. Selfish human adults second. I think being parents falls much lower on their list of priorities.
For all her faults, Janelle is still my favorite.
Milo, if you're blocked on Twitter by someone and want to read their tweets you just need to log out of Twitter and then you can go back to their timeline and read to your heart's content. Then, to use your account as you normally do, just log back in.
DeleteI feel Janelle's twitter support of Mariah is nothing more than a big fat FU to Meri...
DeleteAlso they've all been used to the idea for 6 months, it's not news to them is it? It wasn't news to me either or to anyone that has superficially followed Mariah's tweets these past months.
DeleteI do think she should've maybe privately told this to her bio parents, or just her mom, first. Meri looked completely devastated as I think most parents would have mixed feelings at first. Especially if it's your only daughter. Imagine being the parent, it's still a process of emotions all existing together at the same time, all valid, getting used to the idea.
I do think it's strange to hear parents say they had 'no idea' though, when even I as a complete stranger to them gathered the idea from a series of tweets about women's rights and LGBT-related (re)tweets months ago.
But good for her and for them supporting her in being herself. Go Mariah, hope this will make you feel a whole lot lighter in living your life.
well said Lisasumms...the petty crap they embrace like Mykelties flowers and Caleb, but let their daughter hang in the wind publicly speaks volumes about their reaction.
ReplyDeleteDidn't watch last night--3 hours...are they kidding? But caught highlights from LR reading. Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThis train wreck needs to be cancelled. Exploiting the adults who made the initial decision to "go public for cash" is one thing; enticing the younger adults into the cluster**** (excuse the French) with the next generation of paychecks is just wrong. Let them get regular jobs and live anonymous lives like the rest of us, for goodness sakes.
Thoughts on Mariah: NO DISRESPECT INTENDED TOWARD ANYONE. A young, relatively sheltered woman goes away to school. At some point she introduces alcohol use (results of which unknown).
She minors in feminist studies with all the opinions and indoctrination that choice entails. She is young in a time of "hook-up" culture where pushing the promiscuity envelope in any and every way possible is encouraged. It is very "chic" now to label oneself anything other than heterosexual.
The siblings in her age group are dating/marrying/reproducing. Her most recently planned profession (PA, which requires a post-grad degree) has also been chosen by brother Logan.
What distinguishes Mariah and brings family attention to her alone? Perhaps, nothing may bring it like "I'm gay."
If Mariah is gay...or not...God bless her. I wish her the best, either way. I'm just saying she may learn down the road that youthful experimentation/behavior does not necessarily reflect orientation. If that proves true for Mariah, I will find the online/on-air documentation of that private journey inexcusable.
Or, maybe TLC can boost ratings by putting Mariah and the five parents on the show where parents pick the spouse! Then we can follow more wedding planning, ceremony, and who will father the children. AAAHHH...remember when TLC had educational programming; I miss that.
This...^
Delete^^^ Agree
DeleteI'd like the next episode to expand on Mariah's plans for the future and whether she plans to follow through her original plans to be polygamous. Will they address this? I doubt it, but in light of the whole basis for their show, I think they definitely should. Just because someone is gay doesn't mean they can't be plyg, right? Would it be a family of all women or would there also be a male involved?
Ditto, I too Anon, would like to see how she addresses her religion and future plans.
DeleteMariah Brown (Age 20): NO! Although Mariah was always the one Brown child who was adamant that she wanted to live plural marriage, she has apparently been giving that decision some more thought. On a recent episode, Mariah explained that attending college has made her think more critically about her religion and polygamy, and that she no longer agrees with the teachings of her old church. Watching the heartache her mother, Meri, has recently gone through partly because of her polygamous lifestyle may have contributed to that decision. Source: The Ashley's Reality Roundup (website) Jun 18, 2016
DeleteYes! The poor girl is likely still well in the early stages of figuring out who she is and wants to be. Given where she is coming from, it must be very confusing. To go to feminist studies from a polygamous household is to turn yourself inside out. She likely has all kinds of issues about men and marriage given what her mother has lived through and and the dysfunctional mess her family is. There must be a lot of anger there. What she needs even more than support is therapy, and not on camera!
DeleteAnon 10:44; Excellent summarization. You are right on the money!!
DeleteI was thinking the exact same thing about whether this is just a phase but what matters for now is that she identifies as gay. This is all the more reason it did not need to be publicly announced.Privacy is something the Brown's do not value.
DeleteJust was reading past articles on The Ashley's Reality Roundup when I read this:
DeleteMaddie’s child will be only about a year-and-a-half younger than Maddie’s youngest sibling, Ariella.
I hope Kody's balls fall off and he stops reproducing. His children will grow up with his grandchildren. Polygamy is just so ghetto.
LOVE "Polygamy is just so ghetto". Gleefully embrace that phrase, thanks Jessie.
DeleteON TBS there is a sitcom called "the Detour" (just binged, also "Wrecked". Both funny and with some enormous loss of control laughs that require recovery time--especially 'Detour'; "People of Earth" also love it; laughs more subtle but have l'amour for that show) and the wife's sister comes out, and the 'phase' lasts a month.
Not saying that being gay is a phase. As a gen x-er looking on, it seems currently ultra-hip in the coming-of-age self-definition exploration to find and embrace labels in regard to one's sexuality as if joining a team, to find inclusion with what at one time was exclusion.
One of my kids is in high school (New England) and she tells me (how annoying it is) that so many kids are throwing around lables in order, I think, to try them on, see how they fit. Even with DSM diagnoses, proudly declaring "I'm OCD" or whatever.
"It's a phase my dear, you have to be patient" says Dr. Finklestein.
It's similar to trying out other personas in that 13-20something age; the punk thing, the japanese animation thing, in the 80's the big hair thing.
I see that it's become a thing. And that may be a good thing for those who discover resonating truths for themselves. When the other stuff falls away, what stands should be a framework for self-definition. Which, of course, may evolve over time--likely so to some extent.
People can be more free to explore who they are, and that may be a good thing. LGBT rights secure that possibility, and as a society (note here in the States) we are on a vanguard of acceptance.
Though who knows where we are now headed. Anyone who has read "The Handmaid's Tale" by Margaret Atwood (coming to tv starring Elizabeth Moss who was Peggy in MadMen) may see with some trepidation the agenda of the next political power players.
Mariah, good luck in your journey of personal exploration. We who have watched the show have seen you and your siblings evolve, and you've all grown in way you would not have if you all had remained in Lehi.
Now go be more private about your lives for your own good.
I think it's a little bit condescending to not take her statement seriously tbh. "Oh you tell me this fact about yourself, but I choose to not believe it. Huh, what are you on about 'believing me', it's a fact, so believing doesn't play a role here!"
DeleteShe knows herself better that we know her, since we don't know her at all. If you have any doubts, you should give someone the benefit of it. It's disrespectful and undermining her truth to form her own life.
She's what, 21? Absolutely old enough to know this of yourself. It's not something you just carelessly announce to the world to get some attention.
Ha, no I'm not Mariah before anyone suggests, I'm a viewer from The Netherlands who enjoys the snarking on this blog as much as anyone that's not a Brown. But sometimes you guys go overboard in assuming that the heavily edited clips (often without context) are the only truth about these people and their lives it seems. As if our own lives are a s black and white! Be honest.
I am not from a polygamist family nor am I LDS nor am I from the ghetto, but I do come from a large family. We have aunts/uncles who are only a couple years older than their neice or nephew. In large families or in families where parents had add'l children later in life (planned or a surprise!), closeness in age between generations can happen. Nothing ghetto about it in our case. And it was fun; you grow up more like cousins, really.
DeleteI do get why Meri would like to meet the other lady who was catfishes by this "Sam" I am. Compared to other episodes were everything takes place in the cuddle sac I found this one at least a little interesting. I agree with others that Meri was looking for a way out, and we all make mistakes in life and regret them, I think the episode did clarify a few things for me. I also think that Meri is now strong enough that she can easily take the Kod Piece or leave him and get on with things.
ReplyDeleteNow - how about Truley? I am flabbergasted by this childs behaviour. I know she was very ill awhile back running a very high temperature etc. and things looked touch and go for awhile. Has this illness left her developmentally delayed?
Also - the Mariah thing. This girl has always been a drama queen and loved to shock with her thoughtless statements especially towards her mother. For some reason she feels closer to Kody and who knows why that is. Her grand announcement was meant to shock and hurt her family. Fine with me if she is gay, but her grand statement was done in the usually thoughtless Mariah way.
Still it is out there now and Kody is going to distance himself from her I bet and not be understanding at all.
Mykelti (sp) sorry - is demanding things be done her way for her wedding to that looser. Like her strength of conviction but her choice of husband is poor I think. I guess it is a way out of Plyg life and likely a way out of further education too. We shall see.
Anyone else have thoughts out there? Always love to hear other points of view.
Does Truley attend public/private school or is she home-schooled?
DeleteHas this illness left her developmentally delayed?
DeleteSince she was born, the cameras have been in her life. When I watch now, I see a child that is always "on". Always posing for the camera, playacting, twirling, dancing, bouncing around. IMHO, I think she acts "normal" for a child who has grown up in the same reality show environment. Another example would be Honey Boo Boo.
As far as Mykelti is concerned, she is the one Kody offspring that is exactly like her Dad. That's not good thing. She's going to make some bad decisions and hopefully will learn from her mistakes, something her Dad has failed to do.
Of all the children, Mariah most likely had the most Dad time on his weekly visits...being that she didn't have any siblings to have to share Kody's limited time with. She was the only legal child, until Kody divorced her mom and married Robyn and then supposedly went to court to make Robyn's children "legal" too. I think her announcement was done for its shock value plus it might give the show a few more episodes before the last TLC money train takes off from the depot.
Does Truley attend public/private school or is she home-schooled?
I believe all the children attend public school now. Christine even tweeted a picture of Truely on her first day of pre-school in the recent past.
So...Mariah comes out this week on TV after last week's teaser that she has "big news" !!! News which garnered all the speculation that TLC *and* the Browns could have hoped for to pump up those oh, so needed ratings.
ReplyDelete1- I don't believe the family, including and especially her mother and father, were hearing it for the first time. I believe that it was a reenactment scene.
It was awkward from the start, everyone looked not so much anticipatory, as much as nervously hoping they got it right for cameras, including being filmed in Christine's small spare room dubbed "the library"! Library, really?..with a big china closet filled with odd figurines instead of books. Whatever is up on on that?
Also how fortuitous was it that the camera just happened to catch grandma peeking over the stairwell with an expression that was more than a little odd. No, this was recreated, just another TLC/Kodyworld scripted scene.
2-Not only do I think the adults already knew judging from Christine's comment last epp that Mariah would find the right "person" along with other subtle nuances.
But does anyone really believe that Mariah's older siblings didn't know??? If not by Mariah herself possibly confiding in them, then by them occasionally or routinely following her on social media?
And if so, wouldn't they have talked among themselves, and maybe even helped her and tried to pave the way for her to tell the adults.
3-TLC had to know (hell, they even read here) and Kody, the show's star knew, so why not put it out there for ratings and to show social relevance??? A plan that could score them ratings for a few more seasons?
4- Kudos to Mariah for being true to herself, and claiming and proclaiming her identity in life.
And for being an obviously very loyal daughter to agree to so publicly "come out"....for their show.
Best Wishes to her!!!
Adding...
DeleteI don't say this about Mariah's siblings knowing based on just pure speculation.
*In our family, we all knew one of us was gay long before our parents knew*
Hi Amused,
DeleteI agree with much of your comment, however, I think this one looked legit. I'm inclined to side with those above who felt that Mariah wanted to showboat this announcement, and hurt her mother in the process, by not telling her at all beforehand. In addition, when Janelle made the "find that person" comment, I had the same thought, that they knew already at that point in real time, however, they film those ITM's (in the moments), after the actual events occur, so they might have already filmed the Mariah announcement in real time, but were filming that commentary on the couch after.
Anon:12:23,
DeleteI get what you are saying. I really do.
But this just seems off to me. If the adults were told the filming schedule included a Mariah big announcement, and given the fact that they had already filmed such torment between Mariah and Meri and Kody...
Is it reasonable to believe that Meri especially, and Kody, would just go along with it and not demand to know in advance what was going down??? If not from Mariah herself, then surely from the producers? Would any parent in their alleged situation with Mariah just allow the chips to fall for public viewing?? Dunno..just doing a "Meri-shrug" on this one...
Finding the right person is totally the tell here.
DeleteTotally staged.
Show me one parent or sibling that doesn't know their whole life before the person admits their sexuality. I mean for years we knew a family member was gay and we are not in a super conservative religious cult and we still did not force anything until they came forward, but it was a always a topic as kids.
These people constantly talked about " changes are one of the kids are gay" and it was always Christine or Janelle that said it, not Meri, never Meri.
I think the scene was totally recreated and just Mariah speaking it out loud in front of everybody was enough to make Meri "cringe" because we all know she is s horrible actress. The cringe was just her still not being comfortable with it.
And you absolutely nailed it Amused, they are always trying to get "it right" for the SUPRISE reveal scene, I mean these people are horrible actors. The only real response I feel I ever saw was Janelle hearing About the fake divorce which we all know is very real now. Janelle sitting there silent was the most sincere response and very characteristic because she is so tuned out of everything that I feel she is the last to know about everything.
Mariah may have felt compelled to play along for tv ratings since she benefited sooooo much from the financial benefits of the reality show.
DeleteCostly schooling. Meri's getting the same slice of pie to geed two as compared to Christine's or Janelle's slice to feed 7 each.
That money dispensation still sounds so wrong to me. Group money should have been prorated!!!
Why do we need to this about her?
DeleteLisasumms, I think you are right in that alot of times others know someone is probably gay but they don't say anything....
DeleteI dated and became engaged to a man that I "knew" in my heart was gay, but I loved him so much I was willing to overlook it. We came within a few months of getting married when he finally came out to me. My heart was broken, but he did the right thing. We learned to love each other as dear friends instead of husband/wife. As we talked about it, he told me he had know since he was little, but fought it till he finally decided to stop fighting. Alot of our friends told me they always "thought" he was gay.
I applaud Mariah for coming out. That could not have been easy but in the long run it was the right thing for her to do. I wish her the best in life.
I disagree. My whole life i was a tomboy. I never showed interest in boys. I dressed like a boy. Never dated. When I met my future husband, all my siblings were shocked that i was not gay.
DeleteI was speaking more of her anger and frustration and overall unhappiness with herself. My family members were never in a confident honest spot like others. It wasn't so much their dress but their affect , mannerisms , and behavior around same sex and sexual boy/girl situations.
DeleteWhether it was a tease that was taken to deep or a obvious uncomfortable situation there was always something that made me sensitive to a vibe that they were not comfortable in what just happened. Hard for me to put in words it's just a knowledge you feel.
Watching it again (yes, I'm that sad - LOL), I do think it was staged. Meri seems to be almost half-smiling/trying to contain a grin after Mariah makes the announcement. I think they all knew and she was the least effective in "acting" in her response.
DeleteI'm going to get slammed for this. So of the three daughters first to get out and do their own things with their relationships/sexuality we have Maddie who marries a guy who is older and was grooming her as a teenager, Mykelti who grabs the first control freak oddball who gives her any attention, and Mariah who is gay (but I do not feel this is attention seeking, I feel she must have felt this way since she was young and didn't know what it meant that's why she was the only one to cling to the polygamist way of life) so surely the "mom's" and "Kody" have to have this all in the back of their mind right.... Polygamy is not better...
ReplyDeleteSoon the kids are gone and they only need one bedroom condos in the same building. He will spend a week with each wife that is left, taking turns.
ReplyDeleteThis will sound ugly, but...
DeleteKMS: Once the kids are gone, all the TLC money will be long gone. I don't see the fab 5 with sufficient resources to live in condos. More like four adjacent rooms in a deteriorating 1950s-era motel on a forgotten highway somewhere. (Although if each kid makes a monthly contribution to the parents, they could live well. Mmmm...food for thought.)
I think the mothers will all move into houses of their grown children. That seems to be the pattern. Annie is living with Christine and most of the other mothers of the adults seemed to ask to do the same (per the adult Brown comments in the "moving Annie in" episode...). I expect that is common in polygamy. Very sad. They all seemed to suggest the end goal of the grandmothers was to live with their kids and help raise the grandkids. If that's true in such large numbers, it is a sad statement on the quality of their relationships with their husbands. Polygamy is such a killer for the women.
DeleteCondos are not costly. They are usually cheaper than single family, townhomes..
DeleteI am constantly amazed by their revisionist history. Meri states the wives are her best friends but can't look Janelle in the eye when passing outside their homes. Meri claims that she "introduced" Kody to Robyn and encouraged him to court her, however, Meri entered counseling as a result of his marriage to Robyn. Janelle stated in one talking head that she had a divine message from God that Robyn should join the family and Janelle was expecting her. However, in a group therapy session with Nancy - Janelle spoke up and said that she "never saw Robyn coming." Meri informs us often that "the legal divorce" was for the kids and didn't change her family status. Within months, she is considering leaving the family for a pretend man. They really can't keep their stories straight.
ReplyDeleteI'm convinced that the "legal divorce" was so that Meri would be free to leave Kody "legally". Does anyone know how the divorce coincided with the online relationship?
DeletePerhaps the online relationship was just getting going as a friendship, not quite sure.
DeleteAnonymous 12:26...Meri and Kody's divorce was in the fall of 2014. It was kept hush hush until someone saw it when they were digging online through public records. It was then leaked online, I don't remember the exact way it played out, but I remember it was bizarre to read at the time. At some time within the divorce and the official "Sam and Meri chatting on twitter" (March 2015) was the Actual catfisher person (with a different con going) in her "Lindsay" persona. She went to one of Meri's "come to my house and buy green goo drink" parties and pretended to be a big money dealer bringing her business partner millionaire into Meri's MLM business.
DeleteThis part of it is where we really have to rely on outside parties for this particular leg of the story. I'm sure for legal reasons the Browns have never been able to talk about the green goo business. Only cryptically referring to their "marketing business" here and there. Meri quite often put out cold calls on twitter back then for strangers to pop into their parties, and that was how the catfisher was able to work her way into Meri's life. It wasn't until around March 2015 ish when the Sam and Meri flirting openly on twitter really was the start of their personal relationship.
We know in the timeline that in the Summer of 2015, Meri was being told "Sam" wasn't real and she ignored it. We know that things crumbled and died right after the August 2015 family trip to Alaska. So for those 4-ish months between Meri had her hot n heavy electronic fling with her dream man.
In my personal opinion, although it has only be speculated among us online, I truly believe that sometime in August/September the catfisher threatened Meri financially. If you read the stuff the catfisher as "Sam" posted last year about the Brown's financials etc...it is clear that Meri shared a LOT of personal financial information with this person. I have always thought that the reason all of it poured out online was because they couldn't get any money from the Brown's and so they decided to fully humiliate Meri and destroy them in that way.
Meri has had a very long time to rewrite everything in her head and put the few pieces out that she has shared. Those of us who saw it happen in real time know that she is lying, and I'm sure that is what has made it a whole lot bigger than it really was. Her lies have really dug a hole. She is now putting a little more out there, but you have to pick through the known lies to the tiny tidbit pieces to get a sense of the whole picture.
I agree about the "legal divorce" being for Meri's benefit. I have felt that way since the cattin' around affair became public knowledge.
DeleteThanks Roslyn, nice summation !
DeleteThere have to be several reasons why some people would choose to put themselves and their families on a reality show.
ReplyDeleteOf course the most obvious one has to be for the money !!!
Money may be the most compelling one of all.
It can also be an easy, ready vehicle for existing and/or wannabee celebs to gain lavishly free PR in order to solidify their brand.
People with a message or a unique life situation can greatly gain from the reality show exposure, and can educate the public on a sweeping scale.
And folks with an almost pathological need for attention and adoration do fit the reality show genre perfectly.
Kody Brown seems to have fit all of these.
Except doubtful that he considered that exposing his plyg life, as SisterWives has so effectively done, has been a stark education for the public on the grim, misogynous, empty life for the plyg women.
Also, his celeb status is ironically solely dependent on the very women whom he marginalizes.
And Kody's narcissism may be a key show ingredient, but it hardly wins him any positive strokes of fan adoration.
But the money..clearly, Kody put himself, his plyg harem and his many children out there especially for the MONEY !!
Do all these families who sell themselves to reality tv eventually crash and burn? I don't watch much of it, but these come to mind: Jon & Kate, Duggars, Little People Couple, probably at least some of the Browns eventually, & some among the Kartrashians.
DeleteI wonder if Mariah also wants to get married soon. Maybe that is why she came out to her family (and the rest of us).
ReplyDeletePerhaps she felt someone might out her after what happened to her mom? I'm not sure why an adult child of people who have still decided to be on tv need to reveal stuff about themselves to the world. I'm not sure why this is something needing an announcement?
Deletekms,
DeleteYou may be right.
Better to announce it herself than to allow a tabloid to make it into a news scoop.
I thought that Meri had possibly shared her thoughts about Mariah being gay with the catfisher bit now that I've seen her reaction to the news in the library, I'm thinking maybe that isn't the case and she was blindsided. She and Kody looked absolutely shocked and hiding piss faces. Christine appeared to be in utter disbelief, Robyn and Janelle looked thrilled inside and Christine's mother appeared to be the only one who knew/had an inkling/was told beforehand/was truly happy for her coming out.
DeleteYea the Browns are total liars . Listening to Meri flat out lie is making me sick! It's so insulting to the viewers. If this is supposed to make us feel sympathy , it's not working. I've heard the tapes Meri!!!
ReplyDeleteDid anyone notice that when Kody and Meri were with the therapist she said that she had been back a couple of days but hadn't yet seen Kody. I find this very strange. They all live next door to each other, but can't be bothered to say hello? Weird.
ReplyDeleteIt's beyond weird. I think that's why I continue watching - I'm wondering just how crazy and weird is this lifestyle? Clearly, Kody and Meri are not working on reconciling. I'm guessing they don't see each other since she told him to skip his obligatory night. It sounded like she only calls him when she needs something - like having the sprinkler system fixed!
DeleteIf not for filming, when would they interact? At the monthly family birthday dinners? Or maybe their occasional church service? I'm trying to imagine in what scenario they would repair the relationship if he doesn't spend his designated night at Meri's. Even if she did ask him back, how do they put in any work on their marriage - once every 4 days?!
That's the most annoying part of all -- these people are not a polygamist family. They interact as much as any extended family does -- birthdays, holidays. If they were a real family, they would have dinner together every night (maybe alternated homes to make it fair). What we have here is man-whore Kody visiting each baby mama on a set rotation. It's really no different from millions of men out there that have several girlfriends with kids. The wives are not sisterly at all, and can barely sit on the same couch anymore.
DeleteDo we even know if they are still hosting the "Church of Kody"? or is he hosting some pseudo Jewish service now that they aren't sharing with the TV audience because they know how offensive it would be.
DeleteBig Sky's comment slices through the pure BS of it all.....
Delete"Even if she did ask him back, how do they put in any work on their marriage - once every 4 days?!"
Indeed..how the hell would that ever work???
Anon 12:24 AM...
DeleteOh they are still having the Church of Kody, which I like to call the Church of Daddy.
First you are reverent with arms crossed and bow your head praying for doom and gloom for your sister wife. The children pray for any odd misfit to come make eye contact and they immediately marry them and get the hell out of there. Next daddy knights you, Kings you and makes you worthy of his presence. A brief bar mitzvah or bap mitzvah occurs in which daddy declares what is and isn't kosher and finally there is a communion of green go go juice and celery.
At which time they all turn to their left and wish "May Kody be with you" to their "neighbor".
And we all know that is not what they intend at all for their "neighbor" !
The one thing I give them credit for is that they all seem to be ok with their kids leaving their faith. In fact, they seem to have ensured it by moving to Vegas. But they truly seem ok with it. I'm not sure if it's because they don't really believe in it anymore or because they are out of their church anyway. Kody seems to want them to become regular Mormon, which makes sense given his background. But he's also fine with them not. I did notice in Maddie's vows, he stuck in "forever" rather than "until death do you part"
ReplyDeleteIt's entirely goofy the taboo over till death do you part. All it means is that until the other person dies you will be exclusive. Kody's confusion over marriage, a man can say forever and add on. A "Latter Day" wedding outside a sealing is also for time. If he were doing a wedding for someone in their group and they did not or could not seal for eternity cause the bride is already sealed it would be until death as well in the wording.
DeleteUpthread, Cynical was comparing Truely's behavior to other kids who have grown up under the lens of reality tv (she mentioned Honey Boo Boo) and I cannot agree more. The personality that emerges with cameras trained on their every move is narcissistic. Note Truely's baby talk and pouting for the cameras, also the need to be the center of attention while filming. Christine looks on with amusement letting Truely interrupt the others, encouraging her to "steal" the scene. I found Truely's pausing every few steps to spin around in circles while she walked down the aisle at Maddie's wedding to be more evidence of Christine and those around her allowing her behavior to lean towards performing whatever attention getting device the kid can come up with to stand out on camera.
ReplyDeleteChristine needs to be very careful if she allows this behavior continue, what started out as perhaps "cute" is becoming bratty. I can't even imagine how much money it would be worth to destroy the natural development of my children's character. I am fascinated that Dayton seems to be "off camera" for the most part. Was that an intelligent choice Robyn came up with? Hard to imagine her doing the right thing, but it is so pointed that he isn't on film, I have to think someone (maybe Dayton himself?) made a conscious choice.
I've seen this in families before that have a much younger last child (surprise pregnancy) many year between original siblings.
DeleteOften the "baby" gets used to performing and used for entertainment instead of corrected in speech, behavior and respect.
Hence the entitled bratty "baby" of the family reputation. I think yasbell (sp?) was 6 when Truly came along and she quickly got allot of attention for saying outlandish "adult" things that she mimicked from older kids and adults. And she is the daughter of Christine, the plyg princess, spoiled, entitled and always performing the loudest.
Don't get me wrong, I like Christine the most of all, but you "Truely" she Christine in Truely.
I don't think anyone can diagnose or label a child's character based on 30 second snippets averaging 10 times per year mostly done in a room crowded with people.
DeleteWrong, I am an Early Childhood Educator and you can spot signs within minutes of meeting a child. That is developmental and behaviour wise. I noticed something off with Truly years ago. Not just her sleeping all the time and still being lethargic. It can be learned helplessness but I do not think Christine had time to foster this in Truley's first three years.Christine is only consistent about being inconsistent. So as not to leave anyone out .Two of the kids have eyes set way too wide apart, Logan has a puny head,Maddie has a jaw problem or juts her jaw out when she talks.Gwen really looks like she has a giraffe neck ,maybe it is the way she carries herself. With the exception of Ysabel I do not see much bone structure. There are a lot of flattish features.Inbreeding is not their friend. You can not do anything about that now but Christine can help Truley.Even children with challenging conditions need people to have expectations of them. They need to have goals too.Christine of all people should know in the polygamy world you need to have your wits about you as much as possible. She needs to give Truly a fighting chance.
DeleteThank you nonsharer, it's nice we all get to voice our opinions here without judgement.
DeleteIt was said at the very beginning that Dayton has Aspergers which, along with possible perception and reaction challenges, certainly makes being under the scrutiny and expectations of a TV production more than a little unwanted and uncomfortable for him. He is old enough now to decline frequent filming if he chooses. It would be a smart decision.
ReplyDeleteI think all of the kids, In the teens seem to have stepped away from filming as soon as they could through the years. We see less and less as they start living their lives and move way but I remember most of the older kids being " over it". I remember one year we all complained that we wanted to see more kids in episodes. It seems the older group had a hard time when puberty, the Vegas move and the new mommy all hit at the same time.
DeleteBut I think it is natural for teens to not want to be in the middle or even participate in family activities let alone a filming schedule of the most boring situations.
I am not clear about just how scripted "Reality TV" is. Is the show planned a season in advance? Do the Browns rehearse things like their family meetings in the "library" and the big pronouncements? Is anything real?
ReplyDeleteI can't imagine that the cameras and crew just hang around waiting patiently for something to happen.
DeleteThis has been bothering me since the episode featuring Maddie’s wedding. It appears as though this family is unfair to many of its members. Logan, as the oldest, has been the recipient of many special favors. I know he was expected to play the part of the father in Jannelle’s household, but he was also made to be a special snowflake by Kody and crew. He was the one who got the special quilt at graduation. He had a bedroom reserved for him at the new house, even though there were five other growing children who needed and deserved space. He apparently had a “bar mitzvah” and “knighting.” Now I do not dislike Logan. He appears to be a very mature and kind young man. But what about the other boys in this family? Did they get these special ceremonies and perks? If not, why not? How do the other boys feel about this blatant favoritism? In our family we try very hard to be mindful of anything we do for one, that we must then do something for the other. However, we have two children, not multitudes from differing mothers. The only other boy I see being made that special is King Sol.
ReplyDeleteEqual doesn't necessarily translate to fair. Hunter also had a lot of attention when he was participating in wrestling. Solomon is basically king of the world. I do worry that Paedon doesn't seem to get much attention from Kody; that's sad.
DeleteWhy do "celebrities" continue to feel it is necessary to make pronouncements regarding their sexual preferences/proclivities---as if the world is waiting with baited breath?
ReplyDeleteI wish we lived in a tolerant, accepting world where your sexual orientation didn't matter and it was not a topic for discussion. Sexual preference seems like an issue that might be nice to keep private and not "announced" with fanfare. I certainly get why Mariah wanted to control her own narrative; as long as tabloids believe someone's sexual orientation is something to out and discuss then I can see why a person might want to beat them to the punch! However, what is disingenuous to me is that Mariah announced this months ago to her family and it was more important to her to keep the information a secret from the public all these months to provide drama and a cliffhanger for their show. If she genuinely wanted to control the narrative before she was outed by the press or as she said this afternoon to people.com--“I don’t want people to feel how I felt,” then she would have revealed this months ago. She has a nice sentiment, but I just don't buy the timing.
DeleteI also agree with the other comments that the announcement was staged. The look on Grandma Annie's faced as she peered over the railing gave it all away. The smile on Grandma Annie's face the entire time before Mariah even announced her "secret" gave it away. The "dolled up" appearance of Grandma Annie gave it away. Grandma Annie what a big smile you have...Grandma Annie what big hair you have....Grandma Annie what interesting make-up you have on....you get the idea!!
I have always been convinced Kody did hear those catfish tapes. Now I am sure. He said he would like to attack the catfish at counselling. Who remembers on the tapes or emails Meri stating she wanted someone to champion her.The reaction to attack if genuine would have been long since gone. He is trying to show bravado as if he is a real tough guy . Alas, we also know from the tapes that her lesbian catfish is more of a man than Kody.
ReplyDeleteKody doesn't have any bravado/tough guy energy left. He spent that being a knight in shining armour for the Phoenix Robyn and "going to war" with poor David Preston Jessop to gain custody of his 3 kids. Sarcasm fully intended.
Delete
