Sister Wives Live Tweet Party! for Sunday, January 22, 2017

This is Kody's non-judgmental look.
Well, we are reaching (or have reached) the end of the current season of Sister Wives. I'm not sure because the official Sister Wives Facebook page has not been updated yet.

Seems the TLC intern who is responsible for the Facebook page has taken a page from the Brown's Book of Leaving Viewers in the Dark for as Long as Humanly Possible, while applying the principle of A Day Late and A Dollar Short to the extreme.

But really. Don't they think the audience deserves to know?

At least the intern in charge of the TLC Network Twitter account is on the ball, so to speak.

Although they need a better spellchecker. I mean, really, #SiserWives? No wonder I didn't see this on the #SisterWives tweet feed.

We now know why Meri's and Jangle's Twitter feed has been relatively quiet the past couple of days. Look what Meri, Jangle and Mariah were up to this weekend!

Kody did do his part to keep his followers informed of what he was doing and who he was doing it with this week.

He celebrated his 24th (!!) aniversary with wifey #2, Janelle...

Baby? Somehow calling Kody "baby" is kind of like calling a turnip a tulip, but at least she refrained from using Meri's "lover" from years past.

I can't wait for Robyn's anniversary tweet later this year!

And with Jangle at his side, Kody tweeted this picture. Now we know what type of company Kody keeps.

Frankly, it looks like Kody could learn a thing or two from his companions about wearing a shirt that's not wrinkled, nor two sizes too small. I mean, do we really need to see Kody's hairy belly button poking out from the bottom of his obviously too small shirt? Yuck!!

Kody even gave his followers an example of who inspires him. Um...fan-boyed? Whatever, dude.

Finally, I just had to post urls for two poorly researched articles on Kody and his troubles. Can you count how many fact errors were committed? Mon Dieu, what a mess! This should be Kody's new credo..."Bad gossip articles about me are to be multiplied, not divided."

Hmmm...To save you time, the articles are identical, but written by different authors. And I wonder who the source was? Could it be?....Nah......

  1. There's an episode of "Evil Lives Here" on investigative discovery channel about Warren Jeffs. His brother is talking about the horrible acts he committed. It airs tonight at 10.

  3. Surprised Kody would "let" Meri and Janelle go to the women's march and that those two would even go together. Different planes. Interesting highlight is on Mariah going. Work that attention, honey. Not a cheap trip and there were marches much closer to home.

    1. Indeed it is strange that Janelle and Meri would both go to D.C. I thought they couldn't drive to the therapist together and didn't Janelle have an anxiety attack over sitting on a couch with Meri. Hmmm, guess that's another LIE. Sorry, but Meri and Janelle going to the Women's March makes me giggle. They both willingly choose to live one of the most oppressive and backward lifestyles for women. There is nothing of substance to what they put out to the public about their beliefs. The two of them using that March as a way to get publicity for the show is a perfect example of their empty gestures.

  7. Just tuned in and already zoning out on the blathering.
Kody, do you EVER run out of posturing, posing and pontificating???

TLC, Really ?? Nothing left to air but THIS minutia about who gets mad at whom, and because of what.....is just plain boring.

No one cares about why any of you didn't want Tony onboard.....you all pocketed $$$ from discussing it all already.
Why now....again??? She already married him and the wedding footage is in the can for next season. Just stop !!
Viewers do not have amnesia...no memory problems !!

And no doubt ol' catfish will be brought up too....again!!!

    Just more old BS.

Oh, and Meri appears to have drawn on her eyebrows with a crayon tonight. Used two shades too. Darker on the ends which are drawn way too far out to the corner. It looks like a half circle.
    Very distracting.

And truthfully, "none" of the wives look like "Strive" is a household concept in Kodyworld.

    1. Why Amused do her eyebrows need to circle around her entire eye socket? It IS so distracting. Not that I need to hear anything she retreads, but damn I can't see anything but her two tone, disappearing eyebrows that go all around her socket. Oh, damn the make up these women wear is just horrible!

    2. If Meri can't get a handle on those eyebrows, she could easily audition for clown school.
Come on, Meri....just go to the nearest dept store makeup counter and ask for a free makeup demo.

And Meri, just between us girls....hotdog mustard yellow is simply not a good color choice for you. Too much competition with your signature ultra bronzer.

    5. Clown school, Oh my goodness that is hilarious !
She always chooses these horrible colors like the green dress for the commitment ceremony.
They all are wardrobe challenged and constantly appear in these ill fitting jacketed get ups that confuse me in their location. People just don't wear layers and layers in Vegas.
Meri would make a great sad clown. Her gloom and doom outlook is only outdone by her self pity party.

    1. That's because she was Mary's sister in-law at that time. Mary's brother has his arm around Janelle's waist in that picture.

      Delete
    2. Yea... that's not weird at all. Sounds to me like Kody and Meri must have been lusting after a married women for Janelle to have joined them. It must have been her child bearing hips since she immediately started popping out sons for Kody!

      Delete
    3. Why don't they mention she was Meri's sister-in-law? It was how she felt close to Meri's family and Meri's mother -- of course you were close to Meri's family!! You were actually part of Meri's family. How long was she married to Meri's brother? In this revisionist version of events she was a "single white Mormon girl" living in Utah and was lonely. Ridiculous! Why not just tell the truth for a change?

      Delete
    4. " In this revisionist version of events she was a "single white Mormon girl" living in Utah and was lonely. "

Lonely and apparently at family gatherings with Meri and Kody, acquired the hots for Kody.

OR.....Kody spotted a plain, lonely, dull-witted woman who would be putty in his neophyte, wanna-be plyg harem master hands.
And so the saga of Kodyworld the Harem began !!

      Delete
    5. Omg plain, lonely, dull-witted woman! Hilarious but sadly probably true

      Delete
    6. It would be interesting to know the real timeline when they were all in-laws. Maybe CJ you could help here, were Kody and Meri married when Janelle was still married to Adam? And do you think seeing Kody possibly in tight pants made her imagine herself being his brood mare?
It does sound like she pursed him and he agreed needing a breeder and a "mother" to support him and Meri. I get the impression that he went along knowing he would acquire more woman to fill positions Janelle didn't meet. Up til recent days she seemed asexual but for the 6 kids. Her acknowledgment of the ponytail-man bun and calling him "baby" we see NO chemistry what so ever. Jangle had always been the work horse in the family "that will raise some mighty fine sons," in Kody's words. Nice acknowledgement especially when it was Christine who raised the mighty fine sons. Janelle has repeatedly said she would rather be at work than with her kids. That she doesn't enjoy anything domestic and that she slovenly left care of her children to the village.

    7. I think it's interesting that people have found Robyn's divorce info and Kody/Meri's divorce info online, yet I've never read that anyone has found or posted info on Janelle's divorce with her first husband. People discovered that Robyn's Ex was the one to file for divorce even though she played that she was abused/trapped, and within the papers was the fact that she is not allowed to drink alcohol in the presence of the children. There has been speculation as to the level of her drinking back then, those things are usually put into the paperwork for a reason. But nothing about Janelle's divorce...did she file, or did he? I believe it was supposed to have lasted a year or less.

      Delete
    8. Rosyln, I'm not sure if it has to do with the particular state? Robyn and her ex filed in Ravalli County, Montana. A small little county, and relatively simple to track down info at the courthouse. Because of the relative ease in tracking down her divorce documents and reporters/people looking into her past because of both the adoption of the kids and her bold claims against the ex, people may have been motivated to find the documents. I think Janelle is so slug like and innocuous, no one has ever really cared to check into her past. It was so straightforward with Robyn's documents because everyone knew where she lived and filed. I'm not so sure it was common knowledge where Janelle lived with Adam and which county they filed in. (Although I've read--and don't know if it's credible--that they filed for divorce in Salt Lake County, same county that they were married in).

      Delete
    9. Found this on radaronline
"According to Utah’s Salt Lake County court documents obtained exclusively by Radar, Janelle and Adam, now both 46, finalized their divorce on June 8, 1990 after nearly two years of marriage."

So 2 years marriage and then Kodyland. And how can she marry him when they weren't in love....?!
Makes me wonder how bad was the first marriage?

  13. Watching football not this show, as usual, but after about 40 minutes after 8 pm, I realized I hadn't opened CJLR to read the live tweets. I usually follow along and see if I want to click over to the show, only to find that I never do.

Anyway, I noticed that none of the Browns are tweeting, and very few viewers are tweeting. Even the usual hate-watching just to tweet crowd seems to have given up on this episode. Their two to three hour programming blocks because TLC didn't have anything else to air has seemed to suck the air from their fan base, and did a big disservice to the show, if they actually want it to continue.

I, for one, want to see it end because I want to see how the adults respond to no longer having a show. Most of the kids are old enough now that they will be moving on in their lives, and only Robyn's will be facing destitution. I don't want to see any kids suffer, even though it will be the fault of their parents.

One tweet did show a screen cap of the show with Kody's name spelled "Cody," so even their editors are tired of them.

    1. Maybe- I feel bad for Mariah. Everyone goes through stages, but she is clinging to this identity in a costume dress up sort of way. Like she has to wear backwards caps and button up to the top collar shirts (like all the masculine female youtubers)

      Delete
    2. ^^ I agree Anonymous 5:20. Why would Mariah's entire clothing style change now that she has come out of the closet? It's just strange. In my experience, people pretty much look the same before and after coming out. So weird. I'm proud of her for coming out and risking being judged by her ultra-religious family. However, I think she is playing "dress-up" for the cameras so that no one will forget her new storyline.

      Delete
    3. I don't know, maybe it's just me but I feel snarking on her wardrobe is in bad taste. It doesn't matter what the girl wears or why. I used to dress like that in high school and I'm straight. I think she wears what is comfortable for her right now and there isn't some underlying agenda driving that... IMO of course.

      Delete
    4. She could invest in button up shirts of the correct size however, or at the bare minimum a safety pin. Her shirt was gapping pretty significantly in one of the interviews

    Famous quotes from Janelle,,,

    1. Janelle is such a bore! I find her to be lazy and detached. I immediately changed the channel with her on. She is so dishonest with the viewers and with herself . She knows when Kody is "stepping in it" with the viewers and she always rushes in to speak for him so he won't come across as bad. She's basically his mom and always thinking about the TLC gravy train.

  17. I get a very real sense with Janelle that since her daughter was the first to marry (someone they crush on) and bear a grandchild (a male!!) along with Kody's issues with Meri and possible trouble in paradise with Robyn, Janelle has deluded herself into thinking she is top dog now. Her whole demeanor has changed, particularly with Kody. The pictures she posts with Kody, the humble bragging, her attempts to be sexy and the new lingo "baby"... it's all very obvious and sad to me because I will never believe that there is anything between them other than an asexual mutual respect and business-like partnership yet she truly wants more. Their relationship baffles me...

Robyn's nasty response was shreakinf at her be saying "well I told you I wanted you to start a clothing line for plus sized women@!!! For a split second, Janelle was going to react but didn't. 2. I believe it's because when they are mad at Kody it has absolutely everything to do with a sister wife. It appears they went out of their way to attempt to make Kody not look the villain during the tell all. Meri won't even answer anything without looking at Kody first. I am trying to remember an argument Kody has had with any of the wives that would have happened in my boring little monogamous life. I was a little annoyed with Janelle's statement that their marriages are different because they are small, religious and in a sacred setting. WHAT? I had a small church wedding, which me and my husband paid for ourselves (we were in our mid 20's with jobs and are both the oldest in our families). We never considered asking someone else to pay for it, there were other children that each of our parents were still raising. If we had asked, they probably would have helped, just didn't even think about it. Everyone in the Brown family seems to have a streak of self centered going on. I wonder if it's because they spend a lot of time ignored.

    3. I went back to watch that part I skipped before. I like the way you ladies notice these subtle points. The camera switched to kody and he had his finger to his mouth like he was saying quiet.Theypan back and he shakes his head no. Then he thanks her for telling what he would call "his truth" and that is that Kody is never wrong.

      Delete
    4. hide the children, I agree. I was insulted when Janelle said 'their marriages' are small, religious, and held in a sacred setting. I guess because 'we' welcome people to be witness to our weddings, they're not sacred or cherished or religious.

Talking as if she's a spokesperson, she contrasts polygamy and monogamy all the time and her reasoning is usually ignorant and insulting. The Browns talk as if they've studied the religions and are speaking with authority, but when they open their mouths they do nothing but prove how clueless they are. They've been sold a bill of goods about monogamy and Christianity and are prejudiced against it because of their cult indoctrination / education.

      Delete
    5. Yes, Anon 10:35. Other weddings are not sacred. Only their marriages are sacred. Such crap. Though I am a bit surprised that Kody hasn't figured out a way of infusing Judaism into his ceremonies like he does with everything else.

  22. I never thought I would be saying this - but I miss Tamron Hall. At least she brought a little personality to the tell nothings. And she even acted like she knew something about the family and made an attempt to connect with them. This Dateline woman was a complete dud. Clearly she had never even heard of the Brown's. And if she was familiar at all with them, she was doing a good job of acting clueless. She asked basic rudimentary questions that had already been covered in the previous tell nothings. Didn't she do her homework and watch the previous tell nothings? I think not, because if there is anything worse than a first tell nothing, it's a second tell nothing that doesn't cover new ground.

    2. I have a feeling the Kody was done with Tamron when she asked him about divorcing Robyn and remarrying Meri now that he was able to adopt Robyn's kids. He got that patented dumb and dumber look on his face and said "Why should I?" Looks like being the legal wife DOES mean something, which Kody and Robyn are full aware. Natalie Morales made the mistake of embarrassing Kody in what had to be THE best Tell All that can't be found anywhere. She was able to show the true Kody, unfeeling, uncaring, totally narcissistic buffoon, and definitely put him on the spot with his horrible treatment of Christine and the Chile Cheese Nachos incident and the fact she asked him to apologize to an obviously hurt Christine, and he refused! Even Meri mentioned some things should not have been said, still went over Kody's head.

    3. I agree CJ. I find it interesting that they went back to a dull tell nothing journalist after Tamron and Natalie Morales. You would think that TLC would pull rank and demand that they do a true blue Tell All no matter how he ends up looking if he wants to continue riding the gravy train.

Not the full episode, but here's a short clip with Kody's brutal comments to Christine. She probably could have shot him on the spot and been found not guilty with an abused wife defense. Janelle smiled and chuckled during the cruelty, but Robyn looked uncomfortable and Meri said his comments were horrible.

Here's Kody saying he had an ick factor at the idea of marrying divorced Robyn (so non-virgin women are distasteful but his well oiled dipstick is okay?), with Janelle chiming in about, ahem, other divorced people:

  23. Where was Natalie Morales for this bs tell all? I'm so over the Browns. This show should have been cancelled a long time ago. They are aLL such liars. I didn't even waste any more time by watching Janelles boring story, but I did notice while yapping during the tell all that janelle seems more"engaged", a word she constantly uses. I wonder what's up with that?? New meds?

  24. Viewers do not need to be clever or psychic to assume that next week's part 2 will include yet another tired, seen-before retro clip devoted to Christine since last week's was Meri and Sobbin and this week was Jangle/Janelle.

Definitely agree that Tamron Hall or even Morales as the tell all interviewer would have made more sense that the woman from Dateline.
    Even she looked bored.

The fact that TLC is determined to keep in play the most obviously fake plots thru the years such as the frantic fleeing to Vegas and the McMansion miseries to name a few, is puzzling and insulting?!
But hey, wasn't it fun to see ol Magic Mona, star realtor and SW BS cohort again?!
Gotta hand it to TLC, they did try to hire some questionably talented cast members along the way for this farce.
There is Nancy, the ineffective but on retainer, therapist, Sean the trainer who showed Janelle his absolutely brilliant idea for Jangle to lose pounds by simply smashing her scale, the phony would be capital investors who came off looking embarrassed to be filmed despite whatever they were paid to do it, the various "doctors" who enjoyed face time, the lawyers who did official business by phone, the college students doing "a study," the Beverly Hillbilly plyg family used as a destination SW road trip, the "artist" who rewrote Kodyworld history for Sobbin...and etc, etc!

    1. I fell asleep last night so I watched this morning. Kody's twitching scene reminds me of how Robyn looks when Meri, Janelle or Christine have talking head time, she can't stand it. Noticed the 3 oldest girls have all dyed their head dark, like Robyn. Why in the world would any of the wives trust Meri, even before the catfish incident. She was always quick to throw the others under the bus. When Kody was saying any of his wives could leave, what in the world were Kody and Robyn talking about as far as Robyn was trapped before. Was she locked in a basement or something? Looks like she escaped?

      Delete
    2. Robyn has created a narrative that she was an abused wife. Last night she went a step further implying she was a hostage in her previous marriage and couldn't leave. Interesting, though, that it was her ex-husband who filed for divorce.

Even more interesting, if the ex is abusive - why would she ever allow him unsupervised visits with the kids if she doesn't have to? (like dropping and leaving all three of them with him in Montana for several weeks) He has given up all physical and legal custody so she wouldn't even be required to allow any contact between the ex and the kids. I don't think she realizes how crazy this makes her look. She claims abuse and now further insinuates she couldn't leave the marriage - but she gladly drops the kids on his doorstep. As my mom likes to say, "Actions speak louder than words." Based on her willingness to leave the kids unsupervised with him, I do not think she was abused or held hostage. Unless she is the world's worst mother??

    3. And in that vein, many thanks to Cynical Jinx for continuing to post that infamous pic of Sobbin as she gave her "stolen purity" comedy sketch !!
Another memorable moment of our gal Sobbin.

    4. Yes Big Sky, Robyn for some reason is the designated victim. Her need for sympathy is off the charts to the point she has to lie about first marriage (no crib story) , X-husband so "unkind and abusive" that she gladly uploads those kids in the summer months and NOW he is a terrorist holding her hostage. What?what? Amazing how she thinks we are not listening. So which is it Robyn, are you physically and mentally so challenged and weak that you can't leave an abusive situation? Or are you a liar? Because your action say that you trust your ex- husband with your most precious gifts, your children with him.

  25. I'm guessing Robyn probably deserved whatever hell-fire Christine aimed at her during the "big fight." It sounds like Christine was mad at Kody (her supposed husband) and Robyn chose to butt her big chin into it by going over to Christine's house. Newsflash Robyn: It wasn't YOUR issue. YOU were not involved. Shut up and stay out of it.

    ReplyDelete
  26. With the Kody, Christine, Robin fight that they briefly discussed, Kody kept denying any responsibility. First he said it was always just a minor thing, that Christine would blow up about, then he said, really what happens is that they are angry at the another sister wife, and just blame him.
My guess is that Christine was mad about Kody spending too much time with Robin or something, and that is why she wouldn't say what the fight was about.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. My sentiments exactly. All fights with Kody are probably over the other wives, namely Robin. Once upon a time they all were probably over Meri. The head wife in charge wants the be the dictator of the whole group and that just happens to be Robin for the time being

      Delete
    2. Christine made sure her apology to Robyn was exceptionally sweet and she totally acquiesced to Robyn, just as Kody demands her to do. She sure learned her very painful lesson that to be in favor with Kody, the other wives must be on good terms with Robyn and her kids. I could almost hear in Kody's voice how defensive he was for Robyn during that segment. I think Kody can be a very ugly person when he's upset. It was a little uncomfortable watching them rehash it and I can imagine it was a lot worse when it was happening.

      Delete
    3. It makes no sense that a wife would get angry at another wife unless (as hide the children stated) the argument was about the other wife.

      Delete
    4. I would guess that Meri has long since given up her night with Kody, and doesn't even allow him over. He probably doubles his night with Robyn out of "Convience"--besides what would it matter to Christine. She probably wants him to rotate his extra day between the two wives he is still intimate with. But Kody and Robyn logic probably says why would it matter to Christine. It's just purely a convience thing for Kody to stay extra with Robyn.

      Delete
    5. I feel that if behind the scenes Kody was fair in time, attention, and affection with all of the wives then most of these fights wouldn't have occurred. He is deflecting his sole responsibility in this failing dynamic and putting it off on "the wives".

      Delete
    6. IMO, I think the underlying issue that will always be there between Robyn, Kody, and Christine whether they admit it to us or not is that Christine most likely still wants intimacy and sex and Robyn (and maybe Kody himself) wants to be the only one he sleeps with anymore. Meri and Janelle are most likely out of that picture and Christine is the only one still sticking in Robyn's craw. It's really sad and I feel for Christine.

However I do wish that we could have seen on camera when Kody raged about Mykelti/Tony ""did they fall out of a stupid tree and hit every stupid branch on the way down!!??"" THAT made me laugh. Christine sitting there with her "gentle, but sweet" mask on "..no, no Kody, they were naive.."

Anyone else get the feeling that Meri's punishment from the whole catfish thing is being forced to talk about it and talk about it over and over again on camera. Part of what Nancy mentioned about how Meri and Kody need to stop taking digs at each other on camera. Their glares at each other are pretty loud.

I did watch the episodes about the catfishing, because I hoped Meri would tell us what really happened. The true story about how that played out could have been educational for people to see how sickos like JO operate, but no, she had to lie and expected us to believe it because it came out of her mouth. All the Browns think that if they say it, it is the truth, and we all must believe it.

The United States Supreme Court has refused to hear the Browns appeal, meaning that the lower appeals court ruling that the Browns couldn't sue to remove the ban since they were not charged under it. The Browns' position was that they were at risk and had to flee the state, but the Courts ruled correctly that they were not at risk since they were investigated and the investigation was closed before their decision to flee. Suck it Browns!!!

  31. Just looking through Christine's tweets. Why do we need to know that Caleb loves Paedon? I'm tired of them constantly trying to sell us on Tony and Caleb. It doesn't matter if we like them or not, and the fact that we are constantly hearing how great they are makes me wonder what is WRONG with them. Also, the fact that the older kids were being filmed during dinner makes it not a PRIVATE conversation!

    1. Sometimes I wonder if Christine is so desperate for approval - that she assumes everyone else is too? Is that why she is always feeling the need to show approval of Caleb and Tony?

The apple sure doesn't fall far from the tree; it was so disheartening to hear Mykelti constantly seeking approval and reassurance from Tony - whether it was her cooking or her hair, it was ridiculous. But, she has learned from the best. Christine's insecurity and need for approval is off the charts although understandable given her upbringing and marriage.

  32. Yes, the SCOTUS isn't hearing their case. I think none of them should be married legally and three of them should be in jail for fraud. They have a sham legal divorce and sham legal marriage between three of the family members. When you do this for a VISA it's illegal. The sham legal divorce and legal marriage was for the benefit of the adoption. They did it with no intention of being divorced to Meri or being exclusive to to Robyn. Janelle and Christine were never married so I have no legal objection to them. None of them should have ever gotten married. If no one had legally married no one would even be in violation of the law.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I actually think that the law goes a bit too far. Just holding yourself out as being married to more than one person is a crime. The State of Utah also seems to think it goes too far, and that is why they don't prosecute unless there are other crimes. I wouldn't have had a problem with the Supreme Court hearing the case and making a decision on that matter.

But, the Browns just aren't the family to bring this case. They had no legal standing in it because they were never actually at risk for being prosecuted for *polygamy*. Someone here once explained how they thought the Browns were guilty of food stamp fraud, and laid out why, but when the Sheriff investigated, there wasn't any overt proof, and they closed the file almost immediately.

The Browns are liars and scammers so I'm glad they got shut down. If someone else is prosecuted for straight up polygamy, I think it may have a chance to be heard. But I doubt anyone will, since the State has taken the position that they won't prosecute unless there are other crimes. Suck it Browns!

The Attorney General Reyes was at trhe Christmas party of the Kingston (marry your niece )Clan. He accepted 40 thousand campaign funds from them.It is common knowledge in Utah what these polyg groups are up to but no legal action. There are giant tracts of lands with different polyg groups. If the police wanted to arrest them they are easy to find.

    3. Thx for the info, nonsharer.

There are a few conclusions which can be drawn from this info.
1-the long-known obvious one.....They never HAD to move from impending prosecution from the state of Utah. Never !!

2- Sobbin joining the harem as faux wife #4, complete with filmed wedding, was integral to getting the show deal. But...alas, there was no room for Sobbin and her three kids in their Lehi habatrail house...which dovetailed perfectly for "the show" to then have to move them to Vegas.

3- But why Las Vegas?? Several tell-alls back, one of the wives divulged that Kody "always wanted to be in LV"!
And what a kooky concept, right?...shy, reclusive plygs take on Sin City !! Bound to be a ratings winner !!

4- So between the drama of the move and the ensuing ridiculous crap of the McMansions and the fact that it probably was logistically cheaper for TLC to film in Vegas than in Utah.....
The question will always remain despite the obvious....which is simply that they wanted the easy cash in doing "a plyg show" no matter what it entailed...but if all they really wanted to do was to live their plyg bliss, even with adding a new bed bunny for Kody, why didn't Kody just get a home equity loan and enlarge the existing house to fit in Sobbin since they all claimed to be happy in Lehi, Utah, the most plyg friendly state of all???

Could someone please ask them that question next tell-all !!

      Delete
    4. Even more disingenuous than pretending they fled Utah for fear of prosecution, is their lawsuit against the state of Utah banning polygamy. They were obviously more interested in seeking notoriety and free publicity for the show than they were in truly wining this case - they would have had to stay put in Utah and risk prosecution under the Utah law in order to ever have a realistic chance of having their case heard.. Legal scholars predicted the Supreme Court would turn down their case, one of the primary reasons being that they were never under threat by Utah because they left the state before any investigation was complete or charges filed.

      Delete
    5. Don't forget that it came out in a recent show that Kody had time to have hair extensions put in for the "escape from Utah" filming. Now if I am fleeing a state in fear, I do not take time to go the beautician.

      Delete
    6. They tried to prosecute and the world didn't like it in short creek Arizona in the 50's. They split the men up and housed the women and children elsewhere for a few years. That is the reason they don't prosecute just polygamy. YFZ ranch got raided and a similar pass in Texas. Though they were only looking for underaged mothers. How America is fine with children living with strangers on compounds in other states is beyond me. It's clear others were controlling and reassigning family. Why can't the law help get people safe from cults. Why can't they cut jeffs off from any communication with anyone outside the prison? The law in utah says a married person can't cohabitate with another. If none of them were married legally they would be shacking up and free to do as they wish. Legal marriage is not a requirement of their religious ceremony.

    3. Sue, it is Janelle's mom who married Winn (Kody's dad). Janelle's mom, Sheryl (who is a nurse) was Winn's 3rd wife. Kody made a point on one episode to disclose that he could really relate to his father who had also met and married his soul mate late in life. I assume Kody was referring to Janelle's mom, Sheryl. It was such an insensitive comment. Basically telling the other wives that Robyn was his favorite. Which I'm sure the others all get, but to have him publicly state that....no wonder Christine was in a tailspin, Janelle gained back every pound she lost and Meri wanted to leave him. I can't even imagine living this lifestyle, it would be horrible enough without your supposed spiritual husband announcing to the world that he was so lucky to find his soul mate later in life--and it wasn't you!

    4. It is very confusing. I like genealogy & starting looking at the Kody Brown family when they first came on tv. When I got to the Allred's I had to break out graph paper. Next thing I knew I had a 24 x 36 piece of graph paper and was taping other pieces to it. I couldn't keep up with it, I was completely overwhelmed, (and embarrassed for them). They were all already related, if not by blood by other sister wives of their ancestors. It was crazy. Janelle was the only one not in the family wreath until her mother married Kody's dad. Anyone interested should go look at the Allred's, their lines cross with all the other plyg families over and over again. I've never seen anything like it. I had to give it up, I even ended up with color codes for the different families and still couldn't do it. I don't admit defeat very often, it annoys me with myself. I had to admit it this time...I AM DEFEATED

      Delete
    5. I shouldn't have said embarrassed for them, they can't help the hand they were dealt. If I were Meri, Robyn or especially Christine, I would have been afraid of having children without some sort of genetic counseling. Or maybe if inter-twined families is the norm you've known your entire life, you don't give it a second thought. The children seem to be ok, but it would have concerned me each time I was pregnant

  37. Not that they don't have real health issues now, since they ARE all aging poorly, but what is going to happen when these folks start having real health issues?
It is horribly expensive for a spouses health to fail and need therapy, surgery and special needs physically. These folks operate as individual families. Single mothers. I really don't see Kody reversing engines away from Robyn to care for any of the original 3 wives. I can only see the burden falling on the children to help, support and care for a seriously ill mother. And there is no way that any of these sisterwives to care for each other except for maybe Christine since she was the main care giver for all the children in Lehi.
IMHO Kody doesn't expend hardly any energy on the original 3 and is so self absorbed that I cannot even imagine him physically caring for any of them. Just since the original 3 stopped having children it is clear Kody doesn't "nurture" them (PERIOD) And not just because he is distracted by Robyn and her kids, but he truly sees them as useless.

For Meri to have the nerve to even flirt with the idea of the cheating is despicable. I'm sure that's what a lot of their tension is about, bc they all ride the same pony. (Yuck)

I am all for a couple making their own choice whether they wear more formal or casual clothing--but, for goodness sake, plan some consistency! Maddie is pregnant. (Please, let's hope no birthing scenes next season!)

    *Missing...but not missed....
Sobbin's older daughters not being front and center in every scene acting manic for attention.
No Sol and his baby sister as key cast members.
Sobbin almost visually and verbally absent for the first half of the season's footage. (Nice, wasn't it?!)
No mention "on the show" of the Junk Closet or STRIVE or LuLuroe or any other inane thing that they do on social media to push PR for the show.
No embarrassing scenes of the other kids just doing normal kid things.

Let's see what cliffhangers they leave dangling for next season beyond Mykelti's wedding scenes and Maddie's baby.....it's anyone's guess?!

  48. I love when asked if they trust Meri, Christine said well I trust you more than last year. I really think Christine was hurt over Meri's actions. She trusts her to watch the kids but I don't think she fully trusts her in being truthful.

I also loved when Kody admitted they don't budget well. And Robin was like yes we do. These guys are just blowing their money so wuick.

And in regards to weddings if they don't want the children to compare they need to do what my parents did with me and my sister. Every daughter gets the exact same amount of money for their wedding. It's up to the bride to spend or save some, but no more or no less. My sister had a bigger wedding and used her entire budget. I, with the same amount of money chose to have a much smaller wedding and used the rest of the money for a honeymoon and mortage.

But these fools will blow their money and when the younger daughters get married they will spend a third of the money on them probably.

    1. The kids are lucky to get anything the way the Browns do their budgeting aka credit cards and bankruptcies!

    2. TLC paid for those weddings for the rights to air them and People to show photos. By the time it gets to Truley's wedding, no money will be available. Hopefully her sisters will help her.

Just happened to be watching Nightline and a SW segment came on with new interview sessions (different and better interviewer than for P1). They talked about Mariah's news, the CF story, and Kody's and Meri's relationship status. Meri said they don't have the romantic love they had when they were young, but she had hope for a repaired future relationship. Kody would not say that he wanted a relationship with her. He said their situation is platonic. When asked if he trusts her, he said he does on a pragmatic level but does not trust her emotionally. When asked if divorce was in the cards, they both said no, with Kody saying, for his part, he doesn't leave. Of course, they did not mention that they already got divorced quite some time ago. Meri denied (again)having an emotional affair with the CF, but Kody said he thought she was having a full-blown affair at the time, as did the other wives. Mariah looked and sounded really happy and at peace with herself.

    1. Well...that was interesting! I don't think Kody has ever flat out said that he believes that Meri was having a "full blown affair" during the time she was hot and heavy with her beloved catfisher. She STILL flat out denies even to an emotional affair, yet we all know better. And Kody only trusts on a "pragmatic level". Sorry, in my eyes trust is trust. It's like being pregnant, you do or you don't.

Very interesting how on the show they him and haw through some of those questions like love, trust and the actuality of their relationship. Sounds to me like after a couple divorces and remains friends, but nothing more. The show will most likely draw it out like there is going to be some big "We love each other again!!" ending, but they are just done.

For anyone without cable telly (or any kind of telly past the internet) the interview is complete and on the abc website.

    2. Thanks for the heads up, I would have missed it otherwise. I found it very telling that when Kody was saying that he had a platonic love for Meri, he was shaking his head NO. I am a believer in body language though. He just looks so cold and unemotional towards her. Then when he was saying that he doesn't consider divorce an option, it didn't really seem like he wanted to fix the relationship with Meri, but more of a political statement of "Kody doesn't leave his wive's". Strange. I feel like he is completely done with Meri and Christine, you can feel his level of disdain for them. I feel he loves Robyn and tries to love Jenelle because she is his "worker bee" and he knows will work to support him and Robyn once the show is over. I think Jenelle is also easier to "maintain" than Christine because Jenelle expects virtually nothing of him and praises him for tasks he completes no matter how menial. The two wives that support him and build his ego he is good with, but the two that challenge him in any way, he detests. I can't imagine being in Christine's position and be wanting Kody to step up and he throws out, "well, why can't you see ALL I do and be more thankful like....Janelle/Robyn?" GAG!!!

    3. Thanks for letting us know! You can actually YouTube nightlife and find the episode in a night line playlist they just updated. Interestingly enough, the episode was indeed more intense and hard hitting and honest than any sosterwives TLC episode to date! Maybe TLC is editing out the intense parts? But why??

    4. Or maybe the question is why is TLC/Browns releasing more candid clips (dare we say more honest) to a bigger audience than just SW watchers? Now why would they do that at this point?

Maybe the answer to that would be to try to re-capture former watchers who got tired of the redundant, sanitized version, or who bailed simply out of acute boredom. Or to peak the interest of any potential newcomers.
Either scenario suggests last-ditch PR desperation.

You're all welcome! Glad I stumbled upon the interview....it was much more interesting than SW because there were some honest answers for a change.

  50. I've wondered what all the Browns will do when TLC stops producing the show. Wikipedia shows there are over 100 episodes of SW now. And seasons 4-7 are on Hulu. Do they get paid extra for that? Any chance they will get the show into syndication or get residual monies somehow from the show airing in different ways in the future? It's always seemed Janelle was the 'smart' one financially but none of the adults appear to be worried about their future financial situation. I'm wondering if another revenue stream is in the works or if they have a % stake in the show in any way that effects future airings.

    1. Reality shows pay once up front for the original episode and that is it. They don't get any more pay for repeat showings or syndication.

    2. Oh interesting, thanks! I haven't watched recent season but kept up with things on this blog. I've always been mystified by how they support themselves. My husband and I only had 1 child because that's all we could afford. And we don't live an extravagant life. It makes me curious how someone supports 5 adults and all those children. Simple things like shoes and dental bills for all of them must be crazy expensive.

    4. "Multiple bankruptcies. Thanks unpaid creditors."

Unfortunately, that has been the over-reaching rub all along with this family and the multitude of plygs like them. They righteously followed the Plyg process of multiple wives, a horde of children and the deliberate abuse of welfare benefits and bankruptcies.
As Anon 11;43 AM stated, she chose to have the size of the family she and her husband could realistically and responsibly afford..afford without just *expecting* taxpayers and creditors to support her child and life expenses.
For Kody and CO, TLC's cash WILL run out some day, and then it will be back to the usual Plyg process.

    5. I would not be so sure about no $ for reruns. For a reality show like house hunters where they show it ten times and there is always a new season months down the lie I could see only being paid once. The rights only last 5 years or so. It's too dated to show a house hunters 7 years later. But when it comes to TLC and these decade long programs where they are always on I could see it in the contract to get money for reruns.

      Delete
    6. I think the question of how much money they get from reruns, online downloads etc. would have to depend on what's in their contract, online downloads etc. would have to depend on what's in their original contracts and what they might have negotiated for. Let's hope the kids were able to make some money that couldn't be touched until they turn 18.

  51. So, I'm rewatching some old episodes and... So much for "modesty" (i.e., commitment dress shopping - Sobbin Robyn) when there's major bathing suit cleavage (again, you Mrs. Brown!) S5ep3 "More Sister Wives!" at the beach w the Dargers. Oh the hypocrisy abounds over & over!

  54. Janelle was married to Adam for almost 2 years. She fell in love with Kody in 1989 and got divorced in 1990. What a mess that must have been, then of course she married her Kody.

    1. I have to think if they were ever honest with each other--that when Meri and Janelle are in counseling for their "issues" (polygamy, duh) wouldn't one of the unresolved issues between them be that Janelle divorced Meri's brother and then married Kody?? I just never bought that she divorced Adam after only two years and that it didn't have anything to do with her attraction to Kody. Makes absolutely no sense that it wasn't all tied together.

  55. From Facebook : Sister Wives and Other Lies : Brenda Nicholson's comment :

I went to the capital on Friday and stood up to speak in support of HB0099, and against the coercion and abuses that are inherent with religious polygamy.
I just wanted to say that Kody Brown is every bit as slimy and repulsive in real life as he is on TV. Ewwww.
