Sister Wives Live Tweet Party! for Sunday January 15th, 2017

Would you believe this picture is 4 years old?

It's that time of the week again, and I just know all of you are stoked about another fun-filled evening of Sister Wives tonight!

Right??

Well, before we get down to partying, let's check some notable Brown tweets for the week.

First off, we have Meri threatening anyone who dares to "talk crap" about her little acorn that didn't fall far from  Meri's Tree of Poor Demeanor.

Well, if you got on Meri's crap list, don't feel alone! Seems I was also a victim of her #BlockingSpree when Meri was, um...otherwise entertaining her male Twitter friend with selfies taken while eating a banana.

Not to worry Brown Family. I've block all of you so you won't have to see my tweets to join my living discussion ever again. Yep, I went on my own #BlockingSpree. Bet you didn't even notice!

But here's an FYI to the Browns and their #BlockingSpree madness:

You don't have to be logged into Twitter to see tweets!

Thus the convenience of my living room. A live twitter feed plus you can discuss the ridiculousness of the Browns as they stumble their way making a boring reality show set in one of the most exciting cities in the United States, known as the Entertainment Capital of the World, Las Vegas.

That takes a special talent, I'm sure!

Next up is Kody's current legal wife Robyn. Guess what? It's the Princess Ari's first birthday!

ALERT THE MEDIA!! Where's Robin Leach when we need him?

Oh well, Robyn's pretty good tooting her own horn, especially when it concerns the new Brown Royalty who emerged from her nether regions - King Sol and the Princess Ari.

Isn't that the same hat King Sol wore on his 1st birthday many moons ago? Well, it's nice to see one Brown who recycles rather than  buying new.

Are you listening Kody?

Thanks to Jangle, we now know Kody rotates to at least 50% of his four wives during the week.

And finally from the big man himself, Kody tweets a passage from his favorite author...Dr Seuss. Oh, and get a load of Kody's loyalty ring...I wonder if that was a gift from Meri?

Tell us Mr. Brown, have you graduated to reading The 500 Hats of Bartholomew Cubbins yet? If you haven't, I think you'll enjoy it.

What are your thoughts?

Hey, it's almost Party Time!

Satisfy your need to discuss the show here in the comfort of my living room!

Kody: I read Dr Seuss and had sex with 4 woman at the same time! #ObviouslyNotSpongeWorthy

  2. Caught a fleeting glimpse of tonight's preview !!!!
Are they REALLY doing a plyg newlywed game to fill the TWO hours??!!

My, My... What has befallen TLC to have to resort to such garbage??
What?....no more mesmerizing repeat after repeat of catfishing, shocking daughter news, wedding preps, wife 1 and 2 icy standoffs, Meri meltdowns, Janelle's confusion and lethargy and really bad wedding toasts, Kody blather, Sobbin sermons, Christine hyper giggles....???

HUH !! Nothing!!!... nothing left at all in the film footage bins???
OMG....Has Kodyworld officially run out of plots and stories??
    Have they ???

    1. I know Amused. It looks riveting doesn't it? I know what I think would make a really interesting episode with endless footage to choose from. They could show clips from the first season of what Kody and wives said about their lives. Then show what they said that was 180 degrees different in the subsequent seasons. "Sisterwives Contradiction Tell All". One of my personal favs is when Meri said the wives all get along pretty well because she chose them all for Kody.

      Oh Yessss.....love your idea!!!
Point by Point with accompanying Counter Points !!!
      You're so right!!

And given TLC's treasure trove of clips of all the gaggy, saccharin sayings from all of them in the first season, benched against what was shown and actually "said" season after season, it would truly prove to be an entertaining epp.
      Definitely a popcorn/wine event.
Remember....** Plyg life just "makes us all better" !!!! ***

    3. Love it! There is plenty of director produced footage to choose from.

    4. Indeed popcorn/wine sounds good. While we watch the endless get togethers at Meri's rental. No pets were ever shown. Suddenly, somewhere in the middle of the seasons of Brown's we are introduced to poor Drake seemingly only to tell us he is suffering and needs to be put down. And that scene after they drag Drake all the way back to Lehi makes me want to drink. Remember Kody digging the hole while Drake is walking around in the background wagging his tail? Geez

    5. Honestly, how dumb are these people. Why couldn't Meri and Christine figure out how to play and who they had to match answers with?

Interesting how everyone, except Christine, swapped hormones way before they got married.

      Delete
    6. Christine may have not swapped hormones before marriage but she did produce a lot of Kod Piece offspring.

I wonder if she is still terrified of toasters? Maybe therapy has helped her through that.

    1. I thought Tony was auditioning for Food Network's Worse Cook In America!!!

      Delete
    2. I thought it showed zero common sense and definitely made me question if he had any cooking sense. I wondered if he had his mom teach him one recipe he could make for this episode. He really didn't know what he was doing - no one who does any amount of cooking would put a baking sheet on a burner!! I think he was trying to duplicate a recipe as a performance for the show and his lack of awareness about trying to use a baking sheet on a stovetop gave away his ignorance!

      Delete
    3. I have a feeling Christine was not pleased he ruined her baking sheet. No worries. She can take out a home loan and buy another one!

      Delete
    4. Actually, I doubt they were Christine's utensils. Those kinds of lodges tend to come with fully equipped kitchens, which is why I assumed that the burn marks on the baking sheet were old. I might be wrong, though.
By the way, King Sol had a blue hat and decorations for his first birthday. No way these clowns would ever recycle.
And one last thing, only Kody (or a Duggar, I guess) would ever politicise a Dr Seuss quote a propos of nothing much.

      Delete
    5. That's true,b0red_n0w. But there was no way that pan could be saved. For some reason I thought Tony was going to put the tortillas in the oven. That is, until I saw that big burn Mark from sitting on top of a hot burner. The oven exploding was cool, and I laughed when Gabe thought the explosion was cool, too.

      Delete
    6. i love gabe. i'm pretty sure his career goal is 'bond villain'.

      Delete
    7. Its become a 'thing' around here to hold a tortilla shell over an open flame and scorch it rather than bake or microwave it. My guess is that Tony thought this would be similar since he needed to do so many tortilla shells in mass. Neither the singular method or Tony's sounds safe to me.

      Delete
    8. I've done the flour tortilla warm up on the burner (electric because it makes those cool circular burn marks!). I must say the best method is either a skillet or a grill pan on top of the stove. The hotel cooking pan would work too, in the oven not on the stove top!

  5. So about Meri's Lularoe biz....

I am a Lula lover and her methods are nothing like any of the other 20+ groups I'm in for several reasons listed below:

1- she charges $5 for shipping...most consultants do $3 or even free
2- most consultants do tons of giveaways...have yet to see one on her page
3- most invoice right away...she takes days as she is often "extremely busy" insert other excuse
4- most do album sales of their products on facebook which is time consuming and involves them taking pics of each piece and a random live video sale. Not our girl Meri...she always does the much easier live sale
5- *all* other consultants do sales the same way..most to comment sold and give email get invoiced. Meri does some weird number assignment thing with bins that I can't even begin to understand

Had to share with my fellow livingroom lives.....after all "a grifter's gunna grift"

    1. It IS really strange!! Did you see that she's hosting a pop up on her birthday, complete with cake? I'm really surprised that she would want to meet any of her followers in person, lularoe or not, when she could potentially be bombarded with personal questions...

      Delete
    2. I've heard she doesn't do personal questions very well. Didn't she ban her "customers" from asking questions while doing a sale?

      Delete
    3. She did! She is very standofish and people constantly posts pics of them wearing Lula they bought from her seeking her approval. Very strange.

      Delete
    4. Not to mention isn't that how she first came in physical contact with the catfisher aka Sam the Sham when she hosted one of her Green Goo sales events????

Meri, for for freaks sake, didn't you learn ANYTHING ??? Apparently not !!

      Delete
    5. After the catfish fiasco, doesn't seem strange at all that she'd be hesitant to answer personal questions. Does seem strange that she doesn't do the Facebook sales referenced above; with her publish profile nationally, it seems like she'd make more money doing that strategy.

      Delete
    6. Anon 4:08, that would mean she would have to actually do work. That is not a word normally found in the Brown Family vocabulary!

      Delete
    7. Good point, CJ. For a moment I let regular person logic get the best of me.

      Delete
    8. charging so much for shipping is just a big FU to customers. They did it on their sisterwifes website too. Its just an overscharge for easy money and that is the name of the game for the Brown's

    9. Great points. I buy LLR too. Why on earth does she not WEAR the clothes??? Wouldn't that help sell them? She is still wearing those awful dark jeans with the white stitching. Also a lot of the tops from LLR are flattering on heavy women.

    10. LulaRoe was something I never heard of until Meri. It is kind of fascinating. I don't think I would be a customer, it's just interesting to watch some of the them doing shop the box on periscope. Some are really pleasant to listen to and they're working hard for their money. More power to them. All the ones I've seen other than Meri seem to be really young people, even men are on periscope selling it. I'm just too old and jaded for it, meaning I like to feel the fabric and know what I'm paying before I say "sold". These LulaRoe people, take it out of the box, hold a number up and the first person who types the number in chat has bought it. Good lord, you would think they are selling designer samples. But to each his own. Ive got nothing against it. They clearly have a customer base.

    1. Christine is always "acting"! She smiles so hard her face muscles must ache from all that pretending. I've noticed a few of her daughters also do this. I guess she's "keeping it sweet" so that Kody will acknowledge her .

      Delete
    2. Agree, Piper.
Meri may be currently portrayed as the wife under acute emotional siege, but Christine has always been the poster-wife for towing the party line at cost to her nervous system!
She overacts/over emotes to the point of apparent desperation.

In the game, Kody's statement that Christine likes all his body parts..."I am the total package to Christine" came off as a covert reminder to her that if she is to continue enjoying his "package" she had better keep sweet.

      Delete
    3. This is so sad. Christine is the blueblood polygamist, married to a narcissistic pretender to her faith. She thought her position as 3rd wife was solid. Then Robyn showed up. Kody then precedes to embarrass her numerous times in print, and on the show. She must be living under tremendous emotional pressure that she made a big mistake to hitch her eternity wagon to Kody.

      Delete
    4. "......married to a narcissistic pretender to her faith. "

THIS is the crux of how and why he has gotten, and still gets, away with all his nasty, self-centered crap.
He was a non-plyg snake-oil charlatan who figured out a way to sell himself to women who had been raised in that plyg world and who had no sense to expect, let alone to actually want, something different for their lives. In a way, Kody was a catfisher too.
Janelle's presence in the harem will always be the weirdest of all. BS on her story that she just up and "changed religions" and then came upon a plyg dude. It is obvious that in being related by marriage to Meri, she got all jazzed up being around Kody, and then wanted what Meri had. Janelle's chronic inertia was nicely served by being a plyg wife who could fade into the pack, never having to be "full time."

      Delete
  9. So Christine was Kody's only wife to wait until the wedding for their first kiss. I thought that Kody didn't believe in swapping hormones before marriage.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Insert picture of Kody swapping hormones with Robyn when he was on his way to the hospital because Christine was about to give birth to Truely. Kody's favorite saying should be "Do as I say, Not as I do".

      Delete
    2. I think it also illustrates that he wasn't really attracted to Christine - he liked the idea of marrying the plyg princess. I will never forget when he said he was initially repulsed by her (the way she was eating her nachos) and the look on her face when he shared that on national tv.

      Delete
    3. Kody's cold-blooded crassness in that scene was heartless. If I remember correctly, in their book, Christine mentioned her father was not pleased with her choice of Kody to marry. The look on her face during Kody's nachos disclosure looked to me like she was thinking "Dad was right..." I still think the reason why her mother is now living with her is to gather proof to use if Christine decides to ask for a release from her marriage with Kody from the AUB. Once the show is ended, but I betcha if TLC did a show called Life After Kody: Christine on Her Own, it would be a hit series. I know I'd watch it!!

      Delete
    4. That "eating nachos" scene was truly cold-blooded and heartless. Awful to watch. I felt so sad for Christine.

And they have still never made that Tell All available again. You can't buy it and download it anywhere. And even though TLC says they have all episodes available on-demand on TLCme, that Tell All is still missing. I really wonder what happened there. I can't imagine there's anything in the Brown's contract that allows them to force TLC to not share it. Strange.

      Delete
    5. It really was shocking to see him humiliate her like that.
It was unforgettable and permanently sealed my opinion of him.

      Delete
    6. Remember this was when Christine was having a hard time adjusting to Robyn coming on board. Unknown to us at the time the statement was made. Kody was "punishing " Christine by humiliating her on TV and breaking her spirit as well as undermining her self confidence as a woman. All of this metered out because she wasn't welcoming to Robyn, " keeping sweet". I'm sorry but the way Janelle looks and acts is way more offensive. The lathargy and laziness. ( I'm not saying anyone deserves this treatment or because of her weight) But out of the blue Christine gets shamed about eating. The way he made that comment with such hatred and discust towards her. HORRIBLE!
Now seasons later we know that Kody wasn't just being a stupid hubby that mentioned something that hurt her feelings trying to be funny. No, no he was punishing her, humiliating her and sending a message that she better get in line and worship Robyn or there will be more of that coming her way. To me Christine has got the worse deal of all. Meri encouraged adding Robyn, Janelle didn't care but Christine got totally destroyed. Pregnant and post partum through all the " courting" and poor little Truely ignored while her dad ran out on her mom to bed a new concubine. I hate this cruel creature Kody Brown.
I like Christine, I always have but this recent medicated, fake, over emoting stepford wife is just so sad.
This all is fun to snark about but this cult destroys women and children. Cuts them to the core. Shames them. Makes them feel never worthy of love and attention because the priesthood holder meters out his time according to their OBIDIENCE... a word I would only use in the context of trading a animal.

      Delete
    7. And there was the insipid gifting of "the cheap watch w/assorted watchbands" to Christine. They were on a road trip, in a hotel, and Sobbin was given face-time for orchestrating the idea to gift Christine because she was out of sorts.(no other words to shut her up) Christine was clearly still post-partrum and struggling to accept it all. It was blatantly done to insult Christine and portray her as if she was a moody child who needed to be given a shiny toy for distraction.
Fast-forward 5 years to the awful display of cruelty and control when she is taken on a trip to Texas, with a therapist tagging along, for yet another filmed humiliation on the rock beach.
And that too was all about force-feeding her acceptance and deference to Robyn.
Can only hope that their kids have seen, or will eventually see, enough of these filmed scenes to understand exactly what toxic power polygamy gives to men and how it is used to marginalize women.

      Delete
    8. Absolutely right Amused!
Christine has been the whipping post for years now and to literally survive she has to fake everything, everything!!!
Yes I do remember how she was painted as a spoiled child that needed to be handled. All so manipulative and abusive. It's like polygamy, Kody the narcissist in particular needs to beat these woman down to pump himself up. Along with his new improved model of a wife they seem to be extremely cruel and controlling. The way they have to coddle and council Meri, together.
The way they control and beat down Christine. And well, Janelle is comatose so they don't have to divert any energy towards her at all.
But clearly for Robyn to take the catbird seat it was obvious she had to manipulate Kody with her seductive inbred witchy- hillbilly good looks and destroy the two women that had any spirit or power in the family. Mission accomplished.

    5. Is it possible that Meri really did initiate the divorce

I just don't think so, because she was so upset looking, feeling faint, and that looked real. There was also a tweet from Janelle during the time period of Meri signing the papers, that Janelle was taking the older kids for a short trip to California. And there was the quickly deleted tweet from Mykelti saying she was glad that was all over. If Meri had wanted the divorce, why all the drama behind the scenes? The secrecy? And then when it was leaked out, the Kody's quick explanation he had legally restructured his family? I still think it was Kody's idea because his marriage had been on shaky ground before Robyn entered the picture. I also think Robyn gave him the ultimatum to ditch the bitch and marry me if you want more babies. Which he did, and Robyn suddenly became pregnant. And of course the cherry on top of that sundae was when Tamron asked Kody now that he adopted Robyn's 3 kids, would he be divorcing Robyn to remarry Meri and he answered "Why should I?" 'nuff said.

      Delete
    6. The divorce scenario was so thinly veiled, so transparent because clearly Meri was bullied into the whole lie by the monogamous married couple. It only came out after it was discovered and they did a piss poor attempt to explain it away. Meri's talking head, monotone, two words at a time. I've been.... Thinking about....this almost... From the ....beginning when....Robyn joined the family. Yeah, right, you really sold that Merrrr.

      Delete
    4. Exactly what I was thinking CJ!
Your show airs for two hours on a specific day - and you've known this for weeks - and your birthday party has to land exactly during the airing of the show?? Especially when today is a school holiday and they had the added flexibility of a 3 day weekend to plan the party. It demonstrates their complete hostility to the viewers. I will never understand this family. They rely on the show for their source of income, but they still can't treat it like a job. If this reality gig pays the bills then it should be first priority. Be on board and tweet during the episode - and plan your party accordingly!

Do these idiots need Barb Hendricks to make up the schedule? I mean they have all day, 5 jobless adults to go to Costco and the Dollar Store, not to mention the umpteen kids to help!!!!

  18. Well, isn't this special. Jangle just tweeted they were late tweeting because they were celebrating Dayton's birthday. Which also happens to be Meri's birthday.

So let me get this straight...

You have a tv reality show and you can't bother to show up. And viewers are switching the channel as fast as they can to watch anything but Robyn's bogus journey again.

And TLC tweets about Caleb and Maddie having a baby boy. Several times.

I don't know about you, but it sounds like yet another Brown Major Failure to support their TV show...again.

  19. As I'm listening to this again, I'm hearing details I didn't catch and the Robyn story makes even less sense. In 2009 she and Kody were courting and I believe Robyn said she was only divorced for 7 months when Kody and Meri approached her. That's really quick to jump into a new relationship, let alone polygamy. Robyn likes to speak as a plyg expert, but she never lived polygamy in her 9 yr. first marriage. This show keeps repeating her talking about how her children kept asking her when their they were getting a new dad. Back in 2009 we were led to believe Robyn's children's dad had nothing to do with them. We the viewers now know that was another lie. So, I doubt seriously that her children in 2009 were asking for a new dad. Such crap.

    ReplyDelete

    1. And her kids wanted a daddy so bad that when the girls called the new man in their mother's life Kody, Robyn quickly corrected them with "Call him Daddy!". On CAMERA!

Not too bright...And don't forget every summer Robyn shipped her kids off to their daddy in Montana...requiring Kody to drive Robyn up there like a good monogamous husband would.

      Delete
    2. Yep, we are to believe that in just 7 short months Sobbin's three children had immediately began clamoring for a new daddy.

Hmmm...could it be that ol' purity-robbed Sobbin was rewriting history and was projecting on her kids heads the fact that SHE was on the prowl for a sugar "daddy" ???

      Delete
    3. Yes C.J., such a twisted tale. It doesn't appear that they even care how bad the lies are anymore. Maybe Kody and wives believe the show is going to go the way of the Duggars and focus on the adult children, so it doesn't matter how dumb these storylines are. I'd say it's more likely the show is near it's end, but I've thought that for a while and been wrong.

      Delete
    4. ".....but I've thought that for a while and been wrong."

Ha !! You've had a company with that thought.
Good thing there wasn't a penalty for being wrong (like having to watch an epp twice)

      Delete
    5. Hahah Amused. I feel like I've lost brain cells by watching this hot mess once. Hey, really though we have all served the penalty since most of the episodes are at least half flashbacks/rehashes.

    8. It's all made up in her delusional mind. And all the cattle seem to follow her. I'm interested in the real story, how Meri and Christine has fought evil Robyn and her revisionist delusions.
The opening credits, "Seems like we should have all been together since day one" really is her mission statement. And she continues to weave a new reality every show.

  20. I was struck by that too, how 7 months was not long to live alone after a 9 year marriage. It sounds odd especially coming out of a marriage as bad as she said it was.Did she not have some training in senior care? Is that the same as what Mariah and Logan are doing or something else? Kody should only get credit for the years since Meri.Considering he has been absent a lot he should lose points for that. They love to get inappropriate talk going now, even prudish Janelle.I am glad Meri called him out on his ugly hair.Kody spoke about Garrison's language when he swore in Hawaii.BORRIINNGG.

  21. I'm upset they didn't show all of the answers to all of the questions. The one that really stood out to me was the question about who they thought would get married next. They only showed Tony and Mykelti's answers! I would MUCH rather have heard everyone's input on that question than listen to them talk about who takes the longest to fix their hair or *shudder* Kody's tales of fart man.

  22. Did anyone notice when Robyn shouted "go polygamists" (after the kids shouted "go Millenials") and raised her hand to high five the others she was basically ignored and ended up looking dumb?

You can tell from the flashbacks that these woman went from sort of trashy to living the high life in McMansions! No makeup, no manicures before. Target or maybe Wal-Mart clothes to pretty materialistic people with new $ from a reality show.

Also it was strange to see Meri with a genuine smile.

    1. I certainly don't think it is "trashy" to not wear makeup or have manicures. It is also not trashy to buy clothes from Walmart or Target. That is quite judgemental. With all of the children they have, they shouldn't have been frivolously spending their money. If they had been spending money on those things they would be judged for that.

    3. What's trashy is Meri using language on twitter like "talk crap" about my daughter....I hate that expression!
I think they looked very wholesome in the early years. The lack of makeup/false eyelashes/manicures/bronzer actually made them more natural and appealing. They didn't have much in the beginning and so they looked much simpler and pared down. I think of simple as wholesome not trashy!

Christine: After losing her McMansion to foreclosure, she and her mother move back to her mother's old house in Utah. She is offered a TLC show about her new life called Life After Kody: Christine On Her Own.

Meri: After Mariah's breakthrough reality show becomes a hit on Bravo-TV, she reconciles with her mother and pays off the mortgage on Meri's McMansion.

Robyn: Once the TLC Gravy train leaves the depot for the last time, she takes her kids back to Utah, gets a divorce and hooks up with a millionaire polygamist with 10 wives. New hubby will refuse to pay off the mortgage on her McMansion so she lets it go back to the finance company. Her new sisterwives hate her and makes her life a living hell.

Kody: Left with only wife Janelle, he decides not to get legally married again. He finds part-time work as a greeter at Circus Circus.

They encouraged converts to the LDS church moments before joining the AUB. They can relate to Logan and Maddie and Hunter not living the religion of their childhood. Kody does not think Mariah can get pregnant without a man. Remember he is the scientific genius who studies hormone swapping? All she needs is donor sperm.

  27. During the Repeat Robyn Clip BS, Robyn had a few real "This is who I am" moments. First, she tells Janelle that she's not doing anything to help with SWC. Janelle was like.."You're fake business is a stupid failure!!" Then, She whines to Kody that if he likey a new baby..she's gonna need some help with her fake stupid failure of a business..translate: Go tell them bitches to step it up. Also, never forget the disturbing image of her chasing Kody) as he is in a hurry to get to the birth of Truly) for a make-out sesh!
Missing were the MANY times that she mentioned that she thought she'd be getting more help with her kids. She always said things like "Raising these kids alone is hard' and how she still seemed to be doing it with no help. She was looking to be the sex/date wife..while the retired brood mares tended to her hyper daughters and Dayton/really David. (Dayton is my favorite, he admits being around them all is hard. It would be for most people..not just a quiet boy with Asberger's. Dayton is the smartest one of all, and NO WAY was he begging for a new Daddy. Kody was over the top, inappropriately trying to win those kids over. Remember all the cuddles with the daughters? Gross.

Also it was competition for half-sister Mariah's latest news. huh?!

Sorry TLC....big fail on that one! Couldn't care less if Mykelti is serious or just becoming an attention plyggy just like her Daddy with shocking statements.

  29. Did I misinterpret MyKelti's answer to the polygamy question or did Christine? MyKelti seemed to me to be joking about her and Tony and another woman. Tony is full on Mormon. Christine seemed to take it as MyKelti and Tony were actively looking for a second wife.

  30. Since Meri's talking heads were all about how distanced she and KodyIdiot have been for "a long time" (with last week's epp saying it was YEARS even before the Vegas move) then why was Meri tweeting the "lover" handle so freely in the not so distant past if now she says their pet names were long defunct from disuse???

And despite yet another masterful attempt to re-canonize Sobbin, including continuing to claim the divorce was Meri's idea, and despite the fact that Meri was almost despairing at the signing and afterwards?
And even IF those scenes were the usual Brown reenactments, which they likely were, Meri was not even up to perpetuating the fake BS convincingly...so what was the point of yet another Sobbin-documentary except to attempt to redo her image....AGAIN?
This is getting old, TLC....really old and boring !!

And why is Sobbin now not only the family's Dr.Phil/Nancy, she is even the family's historian too. She pops up with "Mykelti always did this or that"..."Maddie always said this or that"....!!
How the hell would she know anything specific about the kids since she has never "lived" in the same house with any of them growing up??
(And do we know if Aspyn moving in with her just last year is still in effect?)
And...she has only known them and the wives for 5 years, yet speaks as if she was present all along.

They reminded me of a couple I know who are divorced but still talk to each other for the sake of the kids. Overall, pretty gloomy and sad. Kody and Janelle - I sense a sort of disconnect. They probably get along well, but there's no romance or spark. Janelle is beautiful, but I don't think Kody is attracted to her. Kody and Robyn - I know most won't agree, but I get a ho hum feeling between the two of them. There is a certain sense of boredom and tiredness. Now Kody and Christine - I feel some chemistry that, for some reason, Kody seems resistant to. They probably have the most fun together, if they're not arguing.

  38. Interesting that Janelle states that Kody always said "No way" to another wife UNTIL Robyn "just came along". Robyn was unexpected and she told Kody to "convince her" to accept Robyn. Back in the first season she talked about how Robyn coming into the family was a divine intervention and she had had a testimony about another wife coming, that things were "a little boring" with just three wives and how ever many kids back then. It was Christine that sat on the couch saying that she liked things just as they were and didn't want changes.

  42. What do you think is the relationship between Christine and Meri? Meri has been in individual counseling with Robin, Kody, and Janelle. They don't seem to really have problems, but they also don't seem extremely close either.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I have often wondered the nature of Christine and Meri's relationship. Given her upbringing, Christine appears the most indoctrinated in this cult. She may have had more genuine regard/respect for Meri's position as 1st wife. Christine was most likely a bit more deferential of Meri than Janelle. I observed in the Alaska episode when Meri told the family she might pull a Gone Girl, that Christine was the only one who seemed genuinely concerned for Meri's well-being--reaching out to her and holding her hand (unless this was just typical Christine to over dramatize - who knows??!)

Maybe the lack of Meri and Christine ever working on their relationship in therapy might be more a function of how many people can Meri actually be in therapy with before it gets ridiculous and she has to admit that polygamy is the root problem??! Meri is in therapy with Kody (we think!), she is in therapy with Janelle (supposedly!). Also, the adults claims they go to therapy as a group. Meri was in therapy with Robyn. Meri wants to be in therapy with her daughter, Mariah....good grief!! There is no time for therapy with Christine!!

      Delete
    2. I got the impression that Meri brought Robyn into the family to usurp Christine's happy dance with Kody.

      Delete
    3. I don't think they have a relationship. If you notice anytime Meri has news, like she was going to visit the other person who got catfished, or talking about Mariah, she only invites Kody and Robin. She never includes Janelle, or Christine in her meetings. I don't think they despise each other like Janelle and Meri, but I think they just co-exist.

      Delete
    4. "I don't think they despise each other like Janelle and Meri, but I think they just co-exist.

      Whatajoke,
Agree with that observation. What was shown never indicated that there were seething bad vibes between Meri and Christine....more like a low energy ambivalence about each other.

However, Big Sky at 10:11 AM brings up a good point about their possible relationship too. That is, at least in the early part of their relationship and before BS....(Before Sobbin)

Big Sky says...."Given her upbringing, Christine appears the most indoctrinated in this cult. She may have had more genuine regard/respect for Meri's position as 1st wife."
I think this is a valid observation too.

Christine was the one wife who intimately understood (and accepted) the status of the 1st wife. So much so that she freely admitted that she was happy being 3rd wife which allowed her freedom from being the initial "spoiler"..which she knew from her upbringing...definitely was the identity of the 2nd wife. She saw it all growing up.

    5. In my reading of all kinds of polygamist history and memoirs, I came away with the impression that sisterly camaraderie is the exception rather than the rule.

They seem to believe that the point of women is to populate planets for potential gods and to hope for an invitation to a nirvana type place where you get to labor and deliver constantly.

But the big deliriously happy family stuff only happens after everybody concerned is deader than dead, except for the spirit babies who get to start the whole nonsense over.

In the interim,it is nice if husbands like wives, but it is not necessary, nor is sister like required.

Poverty can form working alliances, as we saw a bit of in the early episodes. But if they have the means or permission to live apart, all bets seem to be off.

  43. Something has been bothering me for a bit. I was horrified for Mariah when Meri said that Kody had at first thought Mariah was a boy, mistaking the umbilical cord for other equipment. Then she added with a sad little look that Mariah was "only a girl." I suspect that Mariah grew up knowing that story. There may be many reasons that Mariah feels anger at her mother. Did this have anything to do with her self identifying as male?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. You were not alone in being horrified by Meri's comment that Mariah was "only a girl!" We had a very long thread about that on a previous blog of CJ's.

I can't imagine any parent saying such a thing on national tv. It's sad enough Meri thinks that way, but to actually verbalize it so Mariah heard it....Even if Meri had that thought, couldn't she keep it to herself?? It's not like the woman speaks fast. I would hope that she could have edited her thoughts before expressing them out loud.

      Delete
    2. Yes, that comment (said so nonchalantly) stuck out with me like a giant red flag. How horrible to say on television. And then Meri digs in again on camera when she is crying hysterically over Mariah's coming out when she lets how devastated she is that she has ALWAYS wanted a son...and now won't even get a son by proxy through Mariah's future husband. Dig deep and twist.

I have one of "those" mothers, those kind of things stick with you through your life.

      Delete
    3. Yes, there was a long discussion years back about the "only a girl" comment. The very structure of Plyg culture elevates males over females. No matter how many females are born, it is the males who are needed to have their stables of breeders for spiritual glory. Plyg wives know this.
Meri has no filters, so not surprised at all that she would utter such a crass statement. And no surprise that none of the other wives seemed surprised or dismayed at it either.

It has also been thought that perhaps Christine producing only one son out of six children is a blot on her wifely record.
And isn't that just a pathetic reality of ignorance since Biology 101 teaches that it is the male's sperm that determines if the embryo is to be a male.
Henry the 8th and his ilk obviously didn't know that fact either!

      Delete
    4. I imagine Kody is even more in lurve with Caleb now that he has produced a male grandchild for Kody (as well as being the first grandchild too). Kody will be insufferable gushing over both of them.

      Delete
    5. He had three wives and his only child born was male at the time of mariah's conception. Why would he disappointed she wasn't a son, already having a son and at the beginning of baby boom, especially when it took this particular such a long time. She might have had three more kids if she got more than 100 days a year with HRH.

I don't think Mariah identifies as male? Where did that come from?

As for Christine only producing one son, polygamy in the form they practice requires a ridiculous number of girl births for every boy baby. Her gender ratio is ideal.

      Delete
    6. "I don't think Mariah identifies as male?" "Where did that come from?"

      I question that too ?????
Lesbian certainly does not automatically = male identifying.

Kody has always displayed much more interest in the male children. That was why the subject came up thru the years.

Attention Caleb!! The local news channel tonight highlighted a 26 year old man who was contacting 14-16 year old girls for immoral purposes and is now in jail with a $200k bail. You are gross.

How are you paying for your child to be as I heard you and Maddie are both students? Kody and you speak of independence and being "self made men". I am an ardent fan of universal healthcare but not for people who are hypocritical as you are.

I would also like to say to Christine, Caleb is not a gentleman for letting Truely win the fish derby. That is just something any man does for a sweet child. and... how is it such a nice gesture and is even more pathetic, he had to let the camera guys know he "Caleb" actually was the winner. Pathetic, child grooming loser. Needless to say, Caleb is my least favorite Brown and gives me such a bad vibe.

    1. This guy is such an odd ball that in previous shows, when they first introduced Caleb as Maddie's intended they spoke of his own mom thinking he would never marry or find a girl. Well he sure did. At his brother in laws funeral. How romantic to look at a young teen age girl as "a mate". He's strikes me as a heavy drinker , painfully immature and striving for a " great hunter/fisherman " persona. When all he comes off as is a goof that is so socially awkard that only a naive 16 year old girl would think he was cute. He is ten years older than her but looks as though he is 15-20 years older due to the heavy drinking bloated face and receding hairline. As much as they claim he is they greatest guy ever, it is not what I'm observing. Him pursuing a 16 year old relative by marriage is just a stones throw from the FLDS compound behavior in my opinion. Both him and Tony are creepy. Tony may be age appropriate but that guy is definitely odd. Is it any wonder that these girls escape with the first loser that looks their way when their home life has been so chaotic and dysfunctional. As attention starved Auroa seems I'm sure she will not be far from soon to marrying some uncle-cousin she meets at the next cult gathering.

    2. Most of the excitement about Caleb stemmed from the fact he did not want to be polygamist.A lot of hyprocrites say Kody's lifestyle is fine but then breathed a sigh of relief when Maddie went monogamous. Very telling. The more either male says the less I like them. These kids are in a real bad spot. How so? If they marry anyone who does not approve of polygamy they will lose their family of origin. If they do not let their kids hear polygamy promoted it will cause a rift or at the very least uncomfortable family get togethers.A real strong male will be expected to tolerate Kody.He will have to participate in Kody's schizo spiritual practises. The whole Brown family will be up in your business. The remnants of Cult life will always be there spoken or unspoken. After seeing Robyn's Jessop kids absorbed into that family and stolen from their Dad, one might want to be careful having kids with a Brown.

    3. Is Caleb really only 10 years older than Maddie. He looks so much older. I also think that he should not have wanted to pursue a relationship with a 16 year old. So he waited until she was 18 before he asked her out. It's their life to lead but I would not approve of my daughter marrying this man until she finished college. College would have allowed her to meet other men and date more before settling down. I sure hope that they make it especially with a baby on the way. IMHO I think that these young ladies are planning for the next reality show. They are taking a page after the Duggars. Who knows, Maddie & Caleb could be in contract talks with TLC for their own show. Makes you wonder why the rush for weddings and babies.

Yes.....Sure does make you wonder !!
Especially since both Caleb AND Tony seem to be quite comfortable performing for the cameras.

  45. I haven't been able to bring myself to watch the Robchin show. I'm even snowed in with cabin fever and I'm avoiding this hour of retreads. I just can't, I just can't listen to the whining and fake welling up of tears and sympathy that she demanded. She manipulated the Neanderthal into the legal marriage. Hurricane Robyn destroyed this family. Dysfunctional? Yes. Naive ? Yes, but they seemed to work together to raise those kids( Kody) included and respected each other's roles. Robyn came in and sucked up all the trust and respect, undermining these women's security, earned positions and self esteem.
Meri was the firm, tough love first wife.
Janelle was the deligent bread winner and family accountant.
And Christine was the religious compass, comic relief and clearly the best mother in the pack.
Robyn came in and claimed to be the beaten down divorce that needed saving. The victim of circumstances out of her control. Yeah right. She saw an opportunity to "restructure this family" with a horney toad that was easily manipulated. Now she doesn't seem so keen on how it all worked out. What's wrong Robyn, not as cunning as you thought you were? Scam after scam rooted out by this blog and others all stemming back to her coming out on top. Follow the money... She seems to have fanagled and usurped any power ( emotional and financial) the original three had earned with an arsenal Victoria Secret lingerie.

  46. Anyone catch the comment from Christine that Robyn and Kody hadn't being seeing eye-to-eye or connecting in months?! Makes one wonder if those rumors of her leaving for a little while were correct.
Also, that would explain why Christine seems so happy. That would also explain why she is si "friendly" to Robyn now.

    1. My thoughts exactly Baylor, would totally explain why Christine is happy, happy, happy!
The scene last season when Robyn was preggo and she was talking to Kody about picking up the kids from Montana showed how over it all she was. Make-up less and completely fed up with pregnancy, keeping sweet and especially Kody. she glared at dopey Kody as if he were a bug she wanted to swat.

  47. I think it is very telling that Sobbin hasn't posted a personal picture of Kody since last May. I'm thinking the honeymoon is over and she can't stand that other wives and bonus kids are getting such a large chunk of Kody's time and attention.

  48. The Robyn talking heads are several years old in the last hour. Have they nothing they filmed they can use that is current?? This family must be so fractured there is nothing that supports polygamy that is able to be aired.

  49. Has Meri offered any complementary leggings to her sister wives?? They should all be promoting this!
Another thing, they way Meri goes to Robyn with Kody is weird. I now believe Meri did have a crush on Robyn and brought her into the family to spice things up. I wouldn't be surprised if she was Kody and Meri's sex coach at one point.
"First thing ya gotta do is go to Victoria's Secret...."

    1. I guess Meri is not going to give away promotional pairs to her customers or her sister wives!

I recall that Christine was always wearing leggings...it surprised me that Meri took up selling them as it seemed more paired to Christine and what she actually wears. Meri consistently wears jeans with white stitching (or bedazzling!)... but not leggings. Isn't it typical that the other wives don't wear them and support Meri? They also don't wear the "jewelry" Robyn designed either. And--I noticed the other wives don't appear to support Janelle's Thrive thing. They don't retweet, talk it up, or make mention any of her Thrive happenings. This whole idea that they are friends is ridiculous, at this point, they don't even seem neighborly!

    2. Who was watching all the kiddos while they played this game?

  50. Two things about Kody's recent twitter posts. The first is his birthday post about Aria. I wonder if he has ever said anything like this about any of his children with Meri, Janelle, or Christine.... "She is bright, friendly, busy and sweet. I love her with my whole soul." It must be sad for the other kids to see him gushing about his bio kids with Sobbin.

Secondly, this made me laugh as I feel Kodouche is a closet gay "Thanks a million!
Great to meet you! First time I ever "fan-boyed". You inspire."

  51. It's always been my theory that both Meri and Kody are gay ( maybe Kody more bisexual) with suppressed/repressed feelings due to their culture and religion. "Beards" for each other to maintain the large family structure.
I feel Meri fell in love with Robyn and bringing her in as a sister wife was a way to live her life with her. I always get a brother-sister vibe from Kody and Meri. I've never noticed any sexual chemistry between them. The way they have showed power struggles and constant arguments seem childish and juvenile like fighting with a sibling. Bringing Robyn to Kody wasn't a risk of losing Kody, she doesn't want him. Those voicemails are proof she doesn't even like him after all the divorce situation. I feel her depression and attempt to jettison away from the family with "Sam" was more about the betrayal from Robyn than Kody. I don't know why but the "crushes" these people get on same sex relationships are just so telling.
The crush Kody has on Caleb.
The crush Meri had on Robyn when she was new to the family.
I see real attention and infatuation they should have for each other not new people they meet.
The fake "lover" nickname is just so insincere in hindsight now we hear of "12 years"!!! Of struggles in their marriage.
I think Meri toughed it out for Mariah as to not take her away from siblings and the way to find some happiness she pursued Robyn.
They even filmed Kody's old school mates saying they thought he was gay.
IMHO I think their religion has prevented them from being authentic to their true desires.

    1. Interesting theory, but their have moments of complete jealousy with Meri. She seemed to have struggled with Robyn joining the family when she asked Kody how he'd feel if she had a boyfriend. . Meri is a terrible actress and there is no denying her sadness over being left behind by Kody after the divorce.

    2. Totally agree Piper, but their is something to Kody saying, "I'm not the only one who is in love with Robyn" when love struck Meri gave Robyn a necklace for her birthday.
Also speaking to kms point, the lines are so blurry, boundaries undefined and denied. It just is such an emotional arsenal for these women.
Kody compartmentalizations of each woman (playing house) once a week if that now, just seems to leave these women beaten down. Not including the trophy wife.

  52. Lisasums

There are no boundaries. You speak of the "crushes". In polygamy you are married to multiple people, it's not supposed to be Kody married individually to four different women. They don't parent their own bio kids. They are constantly crossing boudaries. So the Meri Robyn crush/Kody Caleb crush doesn't surprise me. What is weird is how little/overburdened your sex life is depending on who you are in the family.

  53. I wonder what religion the Brown family identifies as? I know they believe in pologamy, but they are also okay with many things LDS are not. Their adult children openly drink, live together before marriage, are okay with homosexuality, and if you believe the catfisher Kody and Meri were okay with a spiritual divorce. 'm not judging their beliefs I'm just trying to figure out which religion their family most closely falls into.

    1. Exactly what I thought, or that was one unflattering top she had on!!

None of these women have learned anything over the years about dressing for the camera. You would think after just one tell nothing they would become more self aware. Leave the heavy makeup and false eye lashes off. Wear flattering simple styles and colors. Quit fidgeting throughout touching your hair, eyes, adjusting your clothing repeatedly, etc. Honestly, I will lose it tonight while watching if Robyn wipes eye goo goos/fusses with her hair/adjusts her clothing on camera, etc. As for the top she had on - it looked hideous in the preview picture.

  57. I can't believe these women are not diabetic or have serious health issues. They get larger each year and the health consequences are real. It took me four years to loose and keep 35 pounds off. I still got a pre diabetes diagnoses just recently and i changed the way i cooked and eat drastically. The damage is done and hard to reverse. These ladies are going to get a wake up call someday and its too bad they didnt learn anything about nutrition .

  58. On the "Tell Nothing" as someone aptly named it years ago ,there appears to be tons of old clips.Talk about flogging a dead horse. It turns out they have broken the Tell nothing down to at least two parts.I bet they want to throw in new clips of the women's march because women living under and condoning a patriarchal system ,qualify to march on equal rights. My opinion on abortion is not pertinent to this blog.I will say that the Brown's have played the religious piety card and now they are facing backlash from fans who are pro-life.They sold themselves as fundie Mormons. What is the fundie stance on abortion anyway? The stance they adhere to on abortion is what? In a numbers game did they gain more fans from the gay movement or lose more over the March? After all ratings are important to people who worship the dollar.
