UPDATE !!!

Looks like the Browns were No Shows once again...Many thanks to TLC Executive Producer Amy Doyle for filling in with background info tweets, at least for the East Coast feed.

Will Kody continue to perfect his almost perfect Neanderthal Man look?

Kody: Duh...Say Whut???

Will Meri finally start fighting back?

Meri: Hey, I was married to Kody for over 20 years. I've got skills!

Prepare yourself for MORE Kody BLOVIATING!!

Kody looking positively giddy over the baby in Robyn's belly....

While Robyn attempts to show the world that modest may be hottest, but her naked belly BELONGS on national cable TV, dammit!!
Robyn: Hey, I'm just giving the public what they want!

Will Robyn actually tweet tonight?

It's Sunday Night and Sister Wives is on the snark menu in My Living Room!!!

  1. Mr. Amused was checking the DVR for recordings he had scheduled.
SisterWives popped up as one of mine.

The info description of it begins with "An "unscripted" series......!!!
    What totally utter Hogwash !!!
He laughed as hard as I did since he always leaves the room if it is on.

  2. I am disappointed that Mykelti is not going to stay in college. I get it, college isn't right for everyone. I guess it's good to be honest about it rather than going through with it for years and years. I hope Mykelti finds herself and figures out the best path for her life.

    1. Oh my word....and what's up with the tweet from TLC that Aspyn has moved in with Robyn?

      Delete
    2. Yes, she has moved in with her. And Christine was complaining about it, saying that it will be hard for her to know that Aspyn will go to Robyn for advice and things instead of her. Let's manufacture even more reasons to get upset and cry, ladies. Honestly!

      Delete
    3. I haven't seen this episode yet - but, if Meri's so isolated, why wouldn't Aspyn move in her McMansion?

      Delete
    4. I'm thinking Aspyn moving in with Robyn is all a plot line...fake fake fake. But geez, can Robyn just raise her freakin kids and keep house by herself? Why for the love of God does she need people to move in with her? And she's still having kids!!

      Delete
    5. Oh and one more thing like someone else said, why not move in with lonely Meri? I'd be interested to know the real reason why.

      Delete
    6. If she really did move in with Robyn, which I don't believe, she moved in to be with her Dad. Maybe she has some fantasy view about her dad giving a crap about her?

      Delete
    7. I just read an interesting tweet about choosing Robyn and not Meri to live with that said something about it being a way to isolate Meri from the family, like as a punishment to her for her affair.

I didn't watch the episode, but it sounds like something they would make up for the show as opposed to reality. However, if true, excluding Meri also sounds like something this family would do.

      Delete
    8. Aspyn says that she doesn't want to move back to Christine's house, because she doesn't want to "mother" the children. Meanwhile, Robyn has the most and youngest children now.

You'd think that Aspyn would move in with a sorority sister...

      Delete
    9. Eh. Robyn probably offered, which is something I can't see Meri doing. Robyn really doesn't have the room, but she could use the help with her little kids. How many bedrooms to these things have again? Is it five including the downstairs den or six? Sol and Areola (haha) are going to share and I suppose A and B could share a room, too.

Re: Mykelti and school...I'm not surprised. It sounds like she's just running away from complication ("school is hard") rather than making a reasoned plan for the future (Isn't St. George the place they rescued Robyn from?). She'll have a job, but I don't think she'll have much fun. Watch her come back to Vegas and resume college at a JC while she shops for a man.

Re: the Aspyn major convo from the other day, I'm wondering if she picked her initial major simply because the subject interested her, not because she ever intended to become a teacher. I think Aspyn is kind of an undercover MRS candidate if you catch my drift - she never intended to teach and the student teaching requirement caught her off guard.

    10. The natural answer would be for Aspen to move in with isolated, lonely Meri. Not Robyn!
But I can totally see Meri being punished and driven out of the family.
I can also see Aspen not wanting to be surrogate mother to Christine's kids. I mean these kids jump ship the second they turn 18 to get away from the hoard.
I also can see Kody and Robyn being too cheap to pay for Nanny anymore and Aspen would be free daycare for Robyn busy schedule. (Lmao)
I also can see Meri being mean to all the other mothers and not being liked by any of the kids.
So many or all of these scenarios sounding true because Robyn did not seem happy at all. No welcome at all to Aspen, very hesitant and Mykelti ask Brianna to help move Aspen's stuff to her new room. Robyn says nothing.
Wow Robyn, nice warm welcome to help Aspen feel wanted.

      Delete
    11. I see no reason for Aspyn to move in with Robyn, none. I bet it's a ploy for the show. If she really did move in with Robyn, I think it is because either Christine or Kody asked her to in order to spy on Robyn/keep an eye on what she's doing. It makes no sense. Meri has zero kids living with her now and Jangle is down to 3 at home....

I also don't get how Aspyn wouldn't realize about student teaching, that's one of the biggest parts of the teaching program. I bet she didn't have the GPA to do it or couldn't pass the tests for get the clearance to student teach and it changing her story.

  3. Oh good god.......don't know how long I can stomach watching this live.........SUCH drivel !!

Mykelti is moving.....packing *another* van, Kody spouting his usual BS of being a concerned dad at every opportunity (of course) . Yawn !!

Christine.........really !!! Sobbin walks up the driveway wit the King Sol and you run screeching "the Baby" as you run and rub Sobbin's belly......!!?? You had SIX of your own......wth !!

Kody turns to Sobbin on the couch chat and says "How's the pregnancy going???!!!
Like he doesn't know.....but it gives madonna a chance to sigh and whine.......Uhhh !!

Back to Meri's a health crisis retrospect.......!! Doctor called her back in for an appt.
Damn they are really scrapping the barrel........!!
Fibroid tumor....a small one..!!! No big deal..Jjust another 6 minutes of BS.

    1. Quite obvious that between Christine new giddy meds and Kody's mandate at the sand pile in Texas, Christine KNOWS she had better fawn over Sobbin.

    2. Didn't they already diagnose Meri's medical condition two or so seasons ago? Also, how many seasons must include a plotline about her uterus (the unborn spirit babies, fertility treatments...)?

She says that she lost all the weight during the catfish timeframe. As many speculated here, she was probably doing it intentionally for "Sam."

      Delete
    3. And a "small" benign fibroid usually would have nothing to do with abruptly losing a large amount of weight.
Absolutely...she was getting buff and sexy for Sham.

Calling big bullsh*t on her tale of being a private person and not telling anyone and going "alone" to the doctor's last year.
Not telling anyone?? Going alone??? What ???
You had several talking head spots with the production crew and had a camera crew filming you leaving your house and in the Gyno's office.
Does a "private person" do that???

    4. Riddle me this:
Meri went to the doctor complaining about sudden weight loss, nausea, no appetite, etc.
Meri's sister had colon cancer and as Meri explained, she is concerned especially when it is time for her routine screening tests for it. OK, I buy that part; it's logical and very natural to feel that way.

I thought she was going to the doctor to get the results of a colonoscopy, but nooooo. Meri got the results of an ultrasound of her uterus which confirmed a fibroid (a very, very small one).

Does Meri know that colon cancer and uterine cancer affect different organs in the body? Does she think the ultrasound she had was a screening for colon cancer? I know she had a baby and should understand female anatomy and it sounded like she'd had a colonoscopy sometime in the past, but I'm not convinced she knows what she was screened for, why, and how it related - or didn't relate - to the symptoms she was complaining about last summer.

And, not to be mean, but it looks like whatever was ailing her (nerves, indecision, excitement, infatuation, etc), most likely stress, is gone and the weight she was so worried about losing, has been regained.

      Delete
    5. Another mystery is why would the doctor call her in months later to confirm AGAIN what the results were?? The "good news" results were already revealed last season.
Are they that desperate to redirect focus for Meri??
And how did they convince that doctor to play along??

      Delete
    6. And how did they convince that doctor to play along??

Money and a good long camera shot of her "body wrap" business sign and the lab coat she was wearing with the business name embroidered on it. And, yes, I think they're desperate for storyline material. If they have to dredge up old footage from years ago to fill an episode I don't think they have anything fresh going on.

    7. TLC has an obvious gift for finding healthcare "professionals" who will negotiate price and PR perks. Ditto for mental health professionals, pseudo venture capitalists, personal trainers, dressmakers, etc, etc.

    3. I think Meri knew there was a percentage cat fish wasn't real. I think it was the thrill of trying to make Kody a bit jealous and getting some public flirty attention. We were made to know and be known. Meri clearly needs that kind of attention but got in way over her head. She still has value and worth and is vivacious and friendly. She can find a "real" man any day!

    4. Getting a JOB would be a high priority one would think, especially since it seems like the gravy train is going to end sooner than we thought.

      Delete
    5. Meri isn't that attractive plus her snobby attitude- who would want to get involve with her. She was Kody's first brood mare and now that Wifey No. 4 and Kody are procreating I see her jealousy. Meri is a nasty ass woman who brought wife no.4 into the home so that she would have someone else to back her up when things go wrong, or when they could both be nasty to the other wives. From the getgo Sobbyn had her sites on becoming the new legal Mrs.Kody Brown but Meri and the other women were to stupid to see Sobbyn taking over. I noticed Sobbyn has put on some pounds. It won't be long for the Kodester to start looking for No. 5 if sobbyn keeps packing on the pounds. Kody also made a comment as to why he would not remarry Meri which was bullshit. I think the most beautiful of the four ladies is Janelle. She has a sensuality that the others don't have. I often wonder if her weight is kept on to keep Kody away from her and from abusing her. I can hear Meri and Sobbyn gossiping about Janelles weight. Christine is pretty and perky. She's another victim of Kody, Meri and now Sobbyn. As for Meri her nastiness shows on her face and in her actions. She was pretty when she was younger but as she ages you can see her nastiness, hate and jealousy for Janelle and Christine. She treats them like they are nothing. Sobbyn is easily manipulated by Meri or was. As for Kody he is so in love with himself that he doesn't have time for others, he only has time for the camera. I wish CHristine and Janelle would jump ship and tell Kody Meri and Sobbyn to kiss their arses. Kody should be in jail and Robyn needs a reality wake-up call.

    6. I agree with the comments elsewhere in this thread about Janelle's weight and seemingly significant weight gain. That's why her common tweets about her work-outs (= sanity) are ridiculous, especially since she's totally fallen off any diet. I think her mouth only moved to eat chicken fingers the entire time her daughter Maddie talked about her engagement and wedding in last week's episode.

When I totally suspend my disbelief and can muster sympathy for her, my hope is that in these counseling sessions with Meri and therapist-to-the-polygamist-stars Nancy, Janelle has the breakthrough that her obesity and lethargy are due to a lifetime of misery in unsuccessful polygamy and monogamy and it compels her to take real action. Meri should have been dead to her decades ago, and, as "the smart one," she should have realized how inept a leader Kody is for the situation to fester, possibly for all of eternity (and for bypassing her as the new legal wife).

Well - my moment of sympathy lasted as long as that paragraph, and I remembered whom I am writing about. Jangle has accepted her dysfunctional dynamic with Meri for more than half her life. Her wanting to work on their relationship now is just to pile on Meri when she's already down (perhaps deservingly) with the catfish scandal. Even in her moments of sympathy for Meri, which Meri thanked her for, Jangle was pretty harsh, basically classifying Meri as her neighbor the lonely shut-in and noting Meri's lack of initiative in finding ways to spend her time.

      Delete
    7. That was flat-out beautiful, Grifter Lives. Spot. On.

      Delete
    8. Janelle does have a sensuality about her. I've never been quite able to put my finger on it, but that's it! She is definitely beautiful. I feel the weight is a mechanism to keep Kody away. She said she grew up never discussing problems, but the weight issues may stem from childhood trauma and a learned behavior of accepting abuse (any kind) as a coping mechanism.

Christine is fun flirty and fabulous! (lol) she seems like the life of the party but is unfortunately submissive to a fault, although she does have a passive aggressive rebellious streak.

Meri has a youthful flirty-ness about her.

Robyn is young enough to manipulate

Cousin Mindy: If Meri can bring in another wife so can Robyn. Especially if Meri is leaving! She is also a blood relative which is a bonus.

    1. Structure and financial support for their higher education (at least Hunter. Sounds like Garrison didn't necessarily see college in his future). How did these grounded kids come from this pack of scammers and losers?

Kody's pearl clutching over a child actually being called to active duty was laughable.

      Delete
    2. Yes, Robyn, you need to be quiet. Because Garrison is Janelle and Kody's child who, by the way, is almost an adult.

It is his choice, one that seems to be in character and an extension of aspirations demonstrated by his ROTC commitments.

      Delete
    3. They were thrilled about Hunter's going to the academy prep, but they're so unsupportive of Garrison's decision, even though he has been in ROTC (as Anon 6:02 pointed out). Janelle - his own mother - has already written off the chance of his rising to an officer.

Kody often tweets very conservative, pro-gun or pro-military tweets. Robyn says that her own brother was deployed. They're such hypocrites.

Maybe Janelle should have chosen a different name for the son...

    5. Can Robyn be any more irritating? Gee, I wonder why Garrison openly can't stand you. I think it's great the boys are doing something to get them out of the cult de sac and don't need to be bankrolled by their parents, which is probably what their parents don't like.

  9. Robyn....says she has to bite her tounge about Janelles boys joining the military bc she doesn't like it. Um, does she know SHE came in to their family with her kids and sucked up their resources! i can't take it anymore lol! She is so self centered.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Robyn is probably one of the biggest reasons the Brown kids want to leave so badly, well Janelle's kids in particular. Garrison doesn't even pretend to like Robyn.

      Delete
    2. They're probably all sick of living the plural marriage lifestyle but keep going to for the show. I notice Christine credits herself for sort of saving the group due to the feud between Janelle and Meri. I'm sure Robyn believes she herself is the new martyr and saint of the family. Without the show I honestly believe Kody and Robyn would be married and alone...also without the show I'm sure they wouldn't have needed Robyn's storyline. Double edged sword.

      Delete
  10. I'm sorry but I'm beginning to think Aspyn is a true airhead. I get what she's trying to say but Mykelti won't learn more at the pawnshop than school. I know she probably means by just life experiences outside of school, but that was not the best way to say it. Mykelti will be in St George, UT. Not far from her roots, surrounded by Mormons and even polygamists and a long way from the outside world.

    1. I wonder if she's moved there to find herself a MAN?

    2. I agree. If Mykelti wanted to experience life and work, she would have more opportunities in Las Vegas and not continue at UNLV.

Maybe she has to work off a family loan for MSWC at the pawn shop, or she's going into plural marriage, or a marriage to a quasi-relative (a la Maddie), since she's going to Robyn's hometown.

      Delete
    3. Oh my goodness "Grifter" what a observation. Putting Kody's mismanagement of MSWC money grab loan from pawn shop together with payback being fulfilled by Mykelti being a indentured servant to loan/hock shop. Good one!!!

  11. Wow........a LOT of revisionist cya going on here as we hear new and contradictory details of the Kody/meri/ jangle story !!

Small example.......Jangle says SHE worked while Christine AND Meri were home with the kids??.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I didn't read the book, but my understanding was that Janelle worked, Christine took care of the kids, and Meri ran around with Kody. Maybe she is referring to him as one of the kids. It would be one of the most honest things she has said, ever.

      Delete
    2. Amused, according to their book, that's pretty much what happened. Janelle was the breadwinner while Christine stayed home taking care of the kids. Meri had a few part time jobs, but she was off work, more than she was 'on' and as Christina said, Meri took off with Kody.

      Delete
    3. Well, obviously it worked for all since Jangle-Janelle has always said she preferred working to being home with her kids.
Meri's alleged "job" details have always been vague, more like suggesting it was an at-will volunteer position.

      Delete
  12. While working in a pawn shop instead of continuing in school doesn't seem like such a great idea, at least the Brown children are out out working, or going to school, or joining the military --- something the Duggar children are NOT doing in any way.

    1. Amen. 2. But Kody seems to embrace Christine reluctantly - not lovingly or willingly. In a couch session between just Kody and Christine, she makes a joke about Robin, and tries to get Kody to give her a high five, but instead leaves her high and dry, with her hand in the air.

  18. I feel like a hypocrite, since I was one who thought Maddie leaving college to follow a guy was pretty dumb. But Mykelti pretty much affirmed for me that getting some life experience - solo - may be a good thing for her right now. It's better than wasting tuition money when she really doesn't have a plan. She can always go back if/when she has a clearer picture of what and why.

Now, we may have our opinions about working in a pawn shop in St. George, Utah. Meh. It's not a
lifetime commitment . It could be a quirky little adventure. It could confirm that college is what she really wants. It could be a next step on a completely different path. She's young.

  19. Ready for Kody and Meri to have a Matt and Amy Rolloff-style dragged out divorce promo teaser. This will be the only way the show can go on. Sigh. Will they/won't they. 1. The way this episode was edited and listening to their talking-heads felt like they were wrapping up the series - that this will be their last season.

They're showing the older kids maturing and settling into jobs and military, apartments or moving back home. They're spending tons of time showing Meri and Janelle working on their years long conflicts.

IDK, the episode just had a 'beginning of the end' kind of feel to it, like they are giving viewers closure on all of the storylines. I'll have to wait and see if my feeling ends up being true. I wonder if the Browns have been told...

    2. If it is their last season, which it is looking like it might be, I wonder how long until Kody starts living with Robyn full time, Meri high-tails it back to Utah, Christine totally melts down, while Jangle starts eating her peanut butter Fritos again while keeping oblivious?

Once the money is officially gone, any bets on which wives will still be with Kody? I think only Christine and Jangle will be left.

  20. Shallow snark alert..........
Very obvious that TLC didn't spring for any make-up/ hair services for the Meri-Jangle therapy session.
But Meri could have at least washed her hair.....yikes !!!

And back to the Christine statement about their "work" hours........a big HUH ??? on that one !!
Meri works..??? Maybe at polishing her cellphone.
    Christine.....who. what...where ??
    Jangle........don't believe that either.

  21. So they finally mentioned on the show that Jangle was married to Meri's brother! I know it was in their book , but I'm pretty sure its never been stated on the show before.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. And from the story they wove, and in between what they "said" and didn't say, it sounds like Jangle-Janelle was eager to pursuing alone time with Kody-boy behind Meri's back which ultimately led to Kody announcing that Jangle was to be his full-time alternative bed-mate.

Also loved how Jangle-Janelle gave herself absolution by faking self deprecation saying she was naive and under-informed back in the day.
      BS !!!! Naive about what?
She stated that she wanted to marry Kody and so she went about making it happen.

      Delete
    2. Meri says that she knew Jangle, but they were not close friends in the first talking head. The very next talking head is Jangle, saying that she married Meri's brother, but qualifies that it was a short marriage, "only 11 months," and she kept close with the family.

Next, Meri says that she was never close to Jangle, but hoped that they'd become so. At that point in the narrative, Meri and Kody are living in Jangle's house. This is the epitome of their grifting. Well, actually, it's when Kody and Meri convince Jangle to put their names on the title and use her inheritance.

    1. Yep, she sure did. Here's what I think: The Browns have been told this is the last season for Sister Wives. In true polygamist/grifter fashion, they have grabbed that last TLC check and decided why bother to show up anymore.

But on a side note, I don't think they can stand the heat anymore. Their lawsuit is a bust, many of their fans were alienated with the whole divorce meri/marry robyn plotline that basically backfired big time as it became apparent Kody's decision to restructure was based on pressure from Robyn (marry me and I'll have more kids kind of pressure). And now with Meri falling for an online predator, that just goes to show being a plural wife ain't all it's cracked up to be...at least with the Browns.

Thank goodness the TLC exec producer of Sister Wives was on hand to do tweet duty...kind of like a manager having to fill in because her employee was a no show...AGAIN!!

    2. Ha! Looks like Meri and Janelle are live tweeting now...but alas, the fans have gone to watch another show. Just chalk this off as yet another missed opportunity.

    3. Meri mat be because she knows she has blown it for the family with outing her failed marriage with Kody, and Janelle becuse she knows without the show money they are in trouble big time and someone will have to go back to work. They won't have to engage the "heat" by tweeting so late..you nailed it cynical they have blown every opportunity with half assed effort from day one.

    4. I think you are right that this is probably going to be the last season and the Browns know it. It would explain why they're okay with so many of the kids giving up on college and the lack of tweeting. Any word on the ratings? There doesn't seem to be much interest in this season at all.

I know I forgot to record it last night for the first time and really don't care. It's becoming too much of a chore to watch. I do love this blog though, think the Browns should thank you CJ for giving them an extra season or two, I know I thank you for the entertainment!

  25. The timeframe of this episode seems disjointed:
Mykelti quits college and moves to St. George - you'd think that she'd do that at the end of a semester (May or December).

Yet, Meri and Jangle go shopping for Thanksgiving decorations and Garrison's sworn in "right after the ISIS attacks in Paris," according to Mariah, which would be in mid-November. Also, Robyn's 7 months pregnant, which would also be about November.

  26. A few observations..,(snark)

Meri doesn't have to remove her sausage packed blazer to get blood pressure taken.

Christine new word this season..."I dent tah tea"
She said it over an over about the catfish being all the identities that Meri was speaking to online.
In past seasons it was ..." Fan naaaa men naaaL" I guess my drinking game expands to include that as a que to pound a shot. Lol

Janelle is back to being bigger, ok as long as she is not on her blog, giving advise to others about diet and exercise.

Sick of Meri science of slow talking, monotone, orange face vague references to her doom and gloom lifestyle. Possible cancer victim , confirmed catfish victim, cast out into darkness victim, whatever.
She just keep crying wolf about dying of some cancer or stomach issue. Reprehensible when these health issues are real in many people's lives. How manipulated can these producers be?
All the weight she has been losing doesn't seem to show from behind.

Christine laughing at strange times, like a kid wanting attention .....
Sobbin with her pained looks and expressions...and...too many words ala Kody...
FF on the remote gets a workout when any of them are speaking.

  27. Watched for a few minutes and it's painfully obvious that the Browns don't even want to be on tv. They just want the paycheck . Of course TLC is having everyone's favorite daughter Aspyn move in with the most hated wife. They're trying to paint Robyn as a loving open sister wife . Not the greedy, selfish person she is . It's going to take more that that to make Robyn likable . And Aspyn says she doesn't want to "mother" the kids anymore so she moves in to the house with the youngest kids and a new baby . Makes perfect sense!!!

It totally doesn't make sense (cents) from a financial aid perspective either if Aspyn is still in college. Living the majority of her time at Robyn's: household income (Sobbin and Krudy's) plus no others in college in the household = less need-based FA. Watch! They'll read this and pile all of the college-attending kids in one home with one parent to maximize getting more money - yet again - from the government!

      Delete
    3. I think they moved Aspyn "a fan favorite" in with Robyn "a not so fan favorite" to bring some likability to Robyn. Just an observation.

    4. Ha !! Milo, I think you nailed it !!

And bets are that Aspyn lasts about 3 weeks tops in Sobbin's World.

    5. Aspyn was like a mother to her siblings, which led her to pursue a degree in teaching, until that pesky student teaching requirement blindsided her in senior year. Her choices were all based on her love of children.

Now, Aspyn is moving into Robyn's house, where there are children, and, I guess, she plans to turn off all her feelings and education and never visit her biological relatives next door, so that she can live with her newest mother, which makes her own mother openly insecure. This has to be "Keep Sweet" immersion bootcamp, or 2nd-string nanny, as Mindy runs off to be Kody's 5th wife in some type of Electra complex to buy another season.

      Delete

  29. And what a coincidental stroke of Win-WIn for Mykelti to get a job that includes an apartment to live solo....and the owner and landlord gets to have his "Family Pawn" business prominently displayed on TV. People in St. George can just come on down to the pawn shop and meet a real live Kodyworld daughter. Amazing !! Such a stoke of destiny and luck for everyone, huh ?!

Very reminiscent of when Magic Mona, Vegas realtor specializing in getting new construction, grouped McMansions for displaced Plygs, had the brilliant and "timely" idea to employ Jangle and Christine in her local Realtor office. Had that worked out, folks could have flocked to the office in hopes of not only seeing the two stars, but maybe on the off chance of even bumping into the harem master himself. Everyone would win.

Still wonder why Mykelti would bail on her senior year, but then again, she was filmed saying "how hard college was." Maybe she just wasn't cutting it..?

I think not cutting it was the reason she and Aspyn? quit college with Aspyn giving the excuse she didn't want to student teach. There's no way in the world she didn't know about student teaching - no way at A.L.L.

    3. I haven't watched the show yet but after reading all the comments this far, I think it's obvious that the kids dropping out of college, going to the military, etc is because the Browns know this is the last season and have pulled the plug on college money. I think the kids are scrambling trying to figure out what they are going to do about it, soul searching, just trying to sort their lives out.

      Delete
    4. It's funny when you think of it. Of Janelle's kids, Logan is in school (I presume?), Maddy dropped out to get married, Hunter and Garrison are in the/going to the military. Of Christine's kids, Aspyn is still in school, Mykelti dropped out. Mariah is in school. So each original mom has one kid in post-secondary. Coincidence?

      Delete
    5. Mykelti was a freshman this past year, not a senior.

    7. Mykelti was a freshman this past year, not a senior.

Actually Mykelti graduated from a junior college program for high school age students. I'm pretty sure she entered UNLV as a junior and she was there for an academic year. So yes, technically she would be a senior if she had returned to UNLV.

      Delete
    8. So each original mom has one kid in post-secondary. Coincidence?

Something tells me they can't afford tuition/fees for all of the college kids any longer. And yes, I think Mykelti is working off her parent's debt to the pawnbroker. I mean, really, who in their right mind would borrow money (for MSWC no less) from a pawnbroker?

      Delete
    9. Either they don't think things through, or are surprised at the impending cancellation. And of course Kody wouldn't want anything interfering with his lifestyle or "retirement" so those student loans he was so dead set against? They're going to be necessary if his kids want to attend post-secondary. Not that there's anything wrong with that of course. But typical of these grifters to spend spend spend, probably make promises to the kids, then not plan ahead for the inevitable. Reminds me of the McMansions all over again, and how underwhelmed the kids were when the parents announced they were building them. They know the score.

      Delete
    10. Oops, I stand corrected, CJ. I guess I was thinking freshman because that was her first year at UNLV. It's sad to think that she may have felt she had to quit to pay off the family's debt.

    11. CJ, remember the episode where everyone was discussing college? Well I think I remember the new "Mrs. Brown" groaning about college and that not all the kids would need to go? 34. This episode had more news and views than usual of the older kids.

Question.....wonder why Christine's teenage son, Paedon, isn't ever featured??
There are only fleeting, very fleeting, glimpses of him in group scenes. But rarely if ever has he been in any past THs with the kids. He is rarely even mentioned in any reference.
Strange? Even super shy Dayton-David has had a few prominent storylines.

Kody especially is never shown with Paedon. I thought of that during the scene last night when Garrison and Kody are walking into the house.
Kody is all about male progeny and "maleness".......what about that son?
Could it be that Kody would not be happy being filmed with a son who towers over him?
Or is Paedon himself choosing to be under the camera's radar?

    1. Look at who is Dayton's mom vs who is Paedon's mom and there's your answer why Dayton has prominent storylines.

    2. Good point. And if that is the case, that he would manipulate that boy's visibility based on Christine being his mother, then Kody should rot in hell.

But I still wonder if part of the no-Paedon scenes is how much taller he is than his "father." That kid has to be well over 6 feet. Kody would look quite diminished physically next to Paedon. And we know how Kody must be the Alpha dog even with his sons.
When Hunter was competing in the wrestling tournament, even then Kody tried to horn in on his son's thunder.

  36. As usual, the Browns have their heads up their collective butts, this time about Garrison's enlistment in the National Guard. All the talk about deployment made my head explode. Deployments are pretty much at a standstill in all branches of the military - and guardsmen are NOT always the first to deploy, Kody! UGH They get themselves so worked up about life outside their narrow minded and narrow experienced lives and judge people and situations so wrongly because of it. Talking about how much danger poor Garrison is putting himself in reminds me of the way Christine talked about the dangers of monogamous people and being afraid of her aunt.

If they didn't isolate themselves intellectually and via lifestyle, they'd be so much happier, to say nothing of the utter BS they're spouting off like experts to a national audience about things (this time it happens to be the military) they know nothing about. UGH, they make me crazy.

    1. Just watching now - totally agree re ignorance on military. cannot figure out why they are so anti-enlisted. They mentioned something about wanting him to desire a position with responsibility, enlisted folks have a ton of responsibilities - maybe not starting out, but as you continue in your career, you can become an NCO (non commissioned officer) and you'll have the leadership over lower ranking enlisted folks. Plus, senior enlisted folks serve as aides and guides for senior leaders. A smart officer will listen to the experience/advice of the enlisted folks. Man, these folks are dumb!

      Delete
    2. Anon 12:37, I agree. As my dad (a retired USAF chief master sergeant) says, "behind every smart officer there is a smarter NCO making that officer look good". Depending on the MOS into which Garrison is placed and how well he performs in that MOS, he may qualify for Warrant Officer training, or even for officer candidate school.

  38. Meri loves to be the doom and gloom person. How many times will we have to hear about the stress in her life? It's always "I have had so much stress", and now it will be the "oh I was manipulated and used by the catfish". Also the ever unpopular "Janelle and I don't get along/ lets work this out; let's not" crap. The girl needs to borrow some of Christine's happy pills and go get a life,a job, and some perspective. There are so many people in this world who are in such worse situations... ones they didn't create for themselves (unlike Meri) and they live those lives happily and they smile and try to stay positive. "Moaning Meri" needs a huge smack upside the head and a big dose of reality... maybe she needs to go volunteer at homeless shelter or a food bank. And TLC needs to cut the crap.

  41. If this really is their last season..and crossed fingers that it is...what we have lastingly learned about the Fab Four and their Master ???

1- Meri is a control freak with no sense whatsoever about the use and abuse of bronzer. She prefers micro small clothes that accentuate rolls and paunches. She is naive and desperate to the point that it is high risk to allow her access to a cell phone or laptop.
She excels in halting, slow-mo speech. Her hair idols are scarecrows and dry mops.
She is a bully and will never own it.

2- Jangle-Janelle is the queen of far-away stares and ambivalent one liners. Jangle is disconnected from everything except when carb-loading snacks are nearby. She is Passive/Passive, a very unique MO that allows her to float past all crises, wondering what the hubbub is all about. She is a closed, boring door. You can knock and ask if anyone is home but she may not answer. Jangle-Janelle is friendly to her master. She has been anointed as the smart sisterwife because the pickens were *that slim.*

3-Christine is a holy mess of jangled nerves and crazy thoughts. Christine is the hyper opposite of Jangle's inertia. She has a good heart that gets her bonus points but she squanders them routinely with childish behavior. Christine has many fears, not the least of which is fear that people will find out how fearful she is. Christine takes a lot of abuse in the hopes that she will have a smooth ride to Kody's planet. She wants to believe in all the plyg nonsense. Trouble is she knows that all of it really is nonsense, and that terrifies her. Christine elicits pity

4-Sobbin is the spoiler, the imposter. She knows who she is and what she wants. Sobbin was gifted like none of the other three with reaping the spoils of coming late to the Kody-party. Sobbin deals in back door behavior. You don't see her coming until it is too late. She is that female whom you never confide in, never let see your shortcomings or fears. Sobbin knows the sinister value of alienation.
She uses worry and concern like a lasso to keep her place intact. Sobbin is a dark force.

    5-Kody is self-created and narcissistic.
He is a legend in his own mind on a solo ride to Glory. His "wives" are merely accessories to his plan for personal greatness and fame. They are assets with which to impress and peddle for attention. In his world, he is the orator, the philosopher, the almighty Oz; yet It is surprising how uneducated and awkward he is when real life intrudes into his dreamworld. Kody is a career user, a taker, and he does it well with no remorse or introspection. His obsession with his manhood and anything manly is interesting to say the least. Bottom line, Kody exhausts people's interest and their patience to stay interested very quickly. He is easy to ignore and delete.

It looks like somebody has pumped them full of air. Meri and Janelle have put on a large amount of weight also. If the teens are this size at such a young age, I can not imagine how pitiful they will be in 10 years. I hope they will see themselves in the episode and realize how bad things have gotten. If they really work hard at things now, they can save themselves a world of hurt in the future. The older you are, the harder it is to lose the weight.

  47. I'm thinking Mindy should be the 5th wife. (Is that her name?) She's related to one of the wives already, which helps since that's a prerequisite with Kody's folk. They really have to bring in a 5th if they want to keep us entertained, assuming they're still in the business of providing entertainment, of course. Sadly, judging by the amount of people falling asleep during this latest - DH nodded off and I felt pretty groggy during the extended Jangle/Meri blah blah who cares part - they've got their work cut out for them.

  48. I was thinking the only way they can keep this going is another wife or if one of the kids decided to live the principal and went for it. I don't expect any of the Brown children to want that life after this tv circus blew their world wide open and gave them more options but it would be fascinating to me to see the way the mothers would handle such a situation.

  49. I have a question: So many of you are very observant and you pay attention to all of the details. I am wondering when they filmed this tape from the show. If we assume that Mykelti left school last May, why is that shown at the same time as shopping for Thanksgiving decorations? Wasn't last week about the birth of the new baby? So, why are we having a baby shower and wondering how far along Robyn is (Christine)? Didn't we see last season that Maddie was engaged and wasn't this well known during the Catfish fiasco? The Catfish seems ages ago and well into their 15 minutes of fame, so how is that timeline relevant to Maddie and Caleb coming to discuss the wedding plans? I really don't care anymore but the timeline here is a Gordian knot and I must unravel it. I can't help but imagine that the producers have gone to lunch and a chimpanzee is editing the final cut.

    1. This is one of the downfalls with their Twitter presence. We know that Maddie was engaged because of social media, we know when the baby was born, and when Hunter started the AF Prep school and when Mykelti started working out of state. Then they put these things on the show and it's "ho-hum" because everyone knew it happened months and months ago. The catfish played out in real time and I honestly think that if Batfish hadn't dumped all of the voicemails/chats etc online the show would have never touched the subject at the very end of their season run/"tell nothing" shows.

Looking back...I honestly and truly believe that at sometime around the end of August/September there was a blackmail threat that the Batfish wanted real money from the Browns or all of everything would be exposed. They obviously didn't pay up and so everything burst out. The Browns aren't going to admit to being blackmailed they are going to play the watered down victim role they play so very well. And Batfish is a professional con...she does this for money, I think this ended with threats and money demands. Since she is still trying to pretend the whole thing is real and turn this into an epic Catfish to all of America story, we will never know the real real truth. Meri won't fess up that is for sure. She gave a tiny blurp about how "it's still going on online" and in the actual timeline that would be November when a whole lot of stuff was going on online in forums, here and Batfish blog. Isn't October/November when the banana photo, "Sam" scratched into her arm photos etc popped online?

  50. This week's episode shook me out of my polygamy ennui. I come from generations of military people, and I found the parents' concern over Garrison's enlistment and possible deployment to be realistic and legitimate. Every parent worries about this when a kid signs up, regardless of time commitment, branch, or military occupation specialization (MOS). Even though there haven't been any first-time deployments in quite some time, the reality is that the balloon could go up at any time. And then Garrison would have to accompany his unit to wherever they are posted, whether he had finished school or not. Remember, the military's job is to defend our nation's interests, not to ensure that kids have college money. The Hunter-Garrison competition about which is the best service is also very realistic and funny--it does sound like every family gathering I've ever attended. The officer-enlisted juxtaposition is also very realistic, based on my observations of those in my family who have served. Hunter, Garrison, and any of the other Brown kids who chose to could have productive, successful, and satisfying professional lives using the many opportunities for training and travel the military can provide. And since Garrison will be able, after completing basic training, to avail himself of the military commissaries and exchanges, I see lots of HUGE grocery shopping trips in the Brown family's future. Prices are often less expensive than one might find in civilian supermarkets.

I wish this season could focus on the Meri-Jangle reconciliation. At some level, I think Jangle might be trying to help Meri see that Meri does have a place in the family. I am certainly no Meri fan, but I'd like to be a fly on the wall in Therapist Nancy's office, because I'd like to see the comeuppance Meri deserves for her past selfish nastiness and I would really like to see Jangle be the one to dish it out. (Can we say sister wife b!tch fight?) After all, revenge is a dish best served cold by a sister wife that knows all your secrets. Hell, I'd even pay for the privilege of seeing the ongoing Meri-Jangle reconciliation! THAT would be must-see TV!

  51. Did I hear right that Maddie has been in love with Caleb for three years? Her best friend mentioned that during the restaurant scene saying she would hang out with him all night long back then. That would make her about 16 years old considering that scene was filmed a long time ago. That brings up red flags about the guy. That means a 25 year old who is the brother of Maddie's uncle took and interest in her at 16. It's normal for the plygs to date family but this guy is not from a plyg family. I find it odd as I can't imagine dating my uncle's brother even if there is no blood relation.

    1. Unfortunately, you're probably right. But amongst this group of moms, the ultimate prize is to have a man marry you, so I'm sure none of them are bothered by this. I think CJ has referred to one of the first girls meri and Kody courted who chickened out. Apparently she was very young also.

    2. Caleb's sister was married to Kody's brother who was tragically killed in a motorcycle accident. If I remember correctly, Caleb and Maddie connected at the funeral. And yes she was still in high school.

    4. Kody is a narcissistic sociopath. He doesn't need to emotionally eat. He has no emotions except anger. His pregnant belly is from gluttony and sloth behavior. If he actually had feelings he might be bigger.

    5. Good point. Too bad the original 3 don't band together, lose weight, get their crap together and leave him and Sobbin behind.

Did anyone else notice how kody said Robyn baby shower would make her feel special bc it's hard to feel special this late in pregnancy basically. .. i immediately thought ab how "special " Christine must've felt when he was kissing Robyn while Christine was in labor.

  54. I haven't seen an episode in awhile and was shocked at how unhealthy everyone looked. I'm not even talking about weight. Stringy hair, pale (well except Orange Meri) and just bloated. Robyn looks 10 years older, pregnant or not.
I'll admit I listened to the catfish emails. Well some of them. And it is so clear how desperate Meri was for attention. She was an easy mark. She truly believed this handsome millionaire prince was coming to rescue her from her cul de sac. Girlfriend needs to spend less time at Disney.
And can someone please explain why Kendra turned on all of them so harshly? Her full time job was fawning over Robyn and she now is just throwing her under the bus. I think I caught a quick glimpse of her at Robyn's shower, in a mirror when Robyn first comes in.

    2. I read this last week but I don't know how legitimate it is or if it was the cause of the split between Robyn and Kendra, but... this article talks about a tax bill discrepancy from when Kendra worked for Robyn at MSWC. It's interesting, though. I hope CJ doesn't object to the link.

  55. Missy said " I can't help but imagine that the producers have gone to lunch and a chimpanzee is editing the final cut". I totally agree about the confusing timeline. There seems to be a lot of jumping around. Mykelti is shown starting her job at the pawn shop in the same episode that Garrison is sworn in. Mykelti tweeted about loving her new job at the Pawnshop on August 25th and Garrison is sworn in right after the ISIS attacks in Paris which would be mid November. This makes me wonder just how often the production crew shows up to film scenes. If the crew comes every time there is something of consequence to film then I guess it's possible the filming schedule might be every couple of months. Or even more often then that depending on whether something comes up unexpectedly. There also seems to be some fudging going on with the timeline such as Maddie and Caleb coming to discuss the wedding plans.

    1. I think it's winding down. They used to be on in January and June but now it's just May. Tick Tock Tick Tock

    2. This show has always jumped around with the timeline and put things together the way they see the "story" unfolding. I use the word "story" very loosely.

The August date works with the moving out of the apartment for Aspyn and Mykelti actually. They most likely signed a year lease from August prior to school starting to the following August. My daughters school (state university) has apartments that run this way. They are next to campus and are for students and the leases run on the student schedule even though it's an apartment and not a on campus dorm. So if they were discussing Maddie's wedding and the timeline was 9 months away that would be August 2015. If the girls had that kind of lease, then that also would be August as well as the fact that Mykelti tweeted about her job in August.

If you look at the hair and shape of the wives in the staged scenes and the talking heads they very often look very different. Also if Garrison was talking about joining the National Guard I think that happened long before he was sworn in (dated in November) because with Hunter walking through with his hair means that scene happened before he left for the AF Prep School where his hair would have been cut.

Jumping to November would be Garrison sworn in and the Meri/Janelle "I love that wreath...buy that wreath...I love that wreath" GAG me scene!! Obviously around time for Thanksgiving. Also Robyn states she is 7 months pregnant and she had the baby in January, so that works for the November-ish timeline.

you certainly can't use the weather to tell the seasons...it's always sunny!!

    3. Thanks Roslyn. That helps to clear it up in my head. I think the reason I am getting so confused about the timeline is because the new season is starting later and later every year.

      Monogamous Apostate,
I agree that the show is winding down. All of the signs are there.

  56. I hope they do not get a spin off like the Duggars show . How is my parents did not use birth control interesting. Maybe I should sell a show to them called "I am of no importance but my Great great great Grandpa had an interesting job",Or in the Browns case "My Dad fornicates a lot instead of working -I'm his kid " show. This is non-sharer I forgot my facebook code and my fake birthday date. Being a fake does not work as well for me as Kody.

  57. I would love to see a spin-off of Sister Wives called 'Pawn Stars: Polygamy Style' where Mykelti, aka the female 'Chumlee,' is now working at a local family-owned pawn shop where Polygamists bring in valuable items to sell for fast cash. The first customer is Brady Williams, who brings in a wedding ring he claimed was worth $50 in his bankruptcy hearing, but is really worth a cool quarter million. Mykelti offers him $25 and a signed autograph of Desi Arnaz Jr. The owner then gives her a hefty raise and offers her a guest spot on American Pickers as Frank's pretend girlfriend.

    1. LOLZ. I'd watch it too. TLC could truly go all out and have all their dysfunctional families take the predictable road trip to "wow, looky here, a pawn shop, let's all go in". Awesome tv right there!

  58. The current trailer for Sunday's epp is pointing to yet another veiled dicey confrontation between aggressive Meri and passive Jangle. But experience tells us that it will be just another bit of creative editing by the TLC demons that will turn out to be a big "nothing."
However, since apparently it is footage of their Thanksgiving preparations (and seriously, how many Browns does it take to set a freaking table) and we viewers are expected to get immersed in whatever they all did SIX months ago, how much of what we will see was done "for the camera"....for the show....to keep the Meri/Jangle story line going ?? Especially since it was going to aired SIX months later??
Ahh, TLC........once again, you insult us, the very people you need for ratings.
