Selected Live Tweets from the Season Premiere Sister Wives 1/5/15

Hmmm...I wonder what spiteful, vindictive and childish thing she's done now?

Last night was the long awaited season premiere of Sister Wives. Here's Robyn's wake up tweet to all her followers:

All her followers except for one... Cynical Jinx.

Yessir, Robyn blocked me yesterday. I've never tweeted her so I'm at a loss why this "snub" now, after 3 years  faithfully following her. [ Sniff, sniff...Drying my eyes]

Oh well, two can play this game! I blocked ALL of them to be spiteful, vindictive and all around childish. So there. :-P  You won't have Cynical Jinx to kick around, anymore! And take your Junk Yard Dog with ya!

#SisterWives  #FreeCynicalJinx

I feel so much better. And thanks to the late President Nixon for the inspiration.

Moving forward...Besides a lot of retweeting, Robyn did come clean about a few things...

Such as why Dayton is Dayton and not David. Now this I can relate to because my family call me by my middle name, while at school and work I used my first name. Helps me know who's calling when caller id doesn't work doncha know!

And I agree with you Mrs Brown #4. Dayton is cute!

Oh come on Mrs Brown #4. Isn't the real reason you wanted Maddie there in the cul-de-sac was to be backup nanny for your young ones while you spent quality time with Kody and "worked" your business magic with MSWC??? Come on, fess up girl!

And I suppose those "positive" thoughts includes Kody musing about courting wife #5 if wife #4 doesn't start pushing out his spirit babies? Right???

I wonder if Kody had King Sol up on his shoulders, as usual...

Well, I suppose you could BLOCK people instead,  like someone else we know...

...Is obviously over Robyn's and Kody's heads. Countdown when MSWC goes down the proverbial drain!

So does this mean that, eventually, Meri's going to UNLV? I'm not holding my breath, y'all...

Here's an example of Kody displaying his positive attitude. So not only did Christine's munching Nachos gross him out, he's annoyed by Robyn's need for validation. Yep, you've got a real jewel in that one, Mrs Brown #4!!

Optimistic my ample fat you know what!

Looks like someone's been visiting my living room! Or maybe TLC PR laid down the law - thank the people for watching, fool!

Seriously, though, this next tweet to Kody was very troubling. I question why Kody chose to even respond to it because obviously this tweeter has some major issues! Scary...and I really hope Kody contacted law enforcement. This tweet was not funny in the slightest.

On to Janelle, who seemed very sad that Maddie was leaving the nest so soon after graduation...

But then she says things like this that make you go, hmmmm.....

Like many have noted, why didn't Mariah get this "speech"? Oh, because Maddie is
P O P U L A R!!!!

No wonder Maddie told her parents they could leave now.

Someone from TLC needs to remind Christine to use the #SisterWives when tweeting. But I can see why she forgets...All she does is retweet Kody, the other wives and fans whose tweets she fancies.

Here's a tweet from Christine. Now tell me, what does it have to do with Sister Wives? And why is she watching a rerun on PBS instead of her own new season premiere episode on TLC???

Well, those are the noteworthy Live Tweets this week from the over 40YO Brown Klan adults plus Wife #4 who still isn't pregnant with Sol#2 because of her crazy work schedule. [Insert eyeroll here]

See you all at next week's Live Tweet Party!!!

  1. While I think Robyn often plays the emotion card for attention, I think her worry over Dayton's surgery was justified. There are always risks with any surgery, and when trying to correct damage from an injury, there's a real possibility that the attempt will cause worse damage instead of returning original function. Kody's an insensitive jerk for not understanding Robyn's natural maternal concerns. On the other hand, why was Dayton not wearing a protective eye shield? I've had similar kinds of surgeries on both eyes, and had to wear eye shields for two weeks after each procedure, mostly so I wouldn't involuntarily rub or scratch the healing incisions and cause infection. Robyn touching the wounds without proper handwashing first was truly gross. I hope Dayton makes a full recovery.

    1. I agree. Not a Robyn fan at all but, when they were all blabbering on about his eye and his scar and being obnoxious during the couch session,I actually felt for her. She was just sitting there, worried about her child. Then the way they crowded around him asking rapid fire questions and making comments. Oh my God..give him space. I felt overwhelmed and I wasn't even there. He just had surgery. People on the spectrum are likely to feel suffocated by that mob scene on a good day. Intentions were good but not a good idea for Dayton.

    2. As emotional as she was, she didn't fail to come out in full makeup with her store bought eyelashes and while having her emotional moment, wipe the eye boogers with her neatly manicured and fake nails all the while checking out those eye boogers before wiping them on her pants....yuck.

    3. The Sunday Downton episode was erroneously listed in the tv schedule scroll (on Comcast, at least) as a repeat, but it was actually the season 5 premier.

    4. You know Bemused, I could have sworn I had Downton Abbey on (I don't get Sister Wives until midnight EST) and it was a repeat episode (the husband having to go to USA to help his wife's brother). At any rate Cox also had the tv schedule wrong if it was the season premiere because DVR didn't record it. I just went to On Demand and it's there. What's even weirder is I just checked my schedule for this Sunday and its listed as the Premiere of season 5, episode 1 of Downton Abbey!!! I wonder who made the mistake OR if different PBS stations are premiering on different dates due to pledge week?

    5. Hey Cynical, over here in New England we got the 1st episode last Sunday. More great one liners by Maggie Smith's character...a real soul sister. Enjoy.

These tweets from Mariah rubbed me the wrong way:

    mariah @mariahlian · 18h 18 hours ago
let's be honest, Dayton looks badass with that eye

    mariah @mariahlian · 18h 18 hours ago
it was weird seeing daytons full eye for the first time after surgery... I was used to only part of it haha

I don't think his eye looks "badass", and I don't think it's nice for her to joke about it. Christine's whole spiel about the scar is a bit more understandable. I get that people, men especially, like to compare their "battle scars". But Dayton's vision seems to have been severely impaired by his accident for the last few years. His depth perception and peripheral vision especially, which I imagine would pose extra challenges for many activities teen boys are interested in (driving, sports, etc.). Why would a "future doctor" jest about something as precious as vision?!

Mariah's tweets would be more forgivable if she were younger perhaps, or not on a supposed educational path to become a medical doctor. I'm not sure what her intended specialty might be... but say she were an ob/gyn and her patient delivered a one eyed baby, will she tell that mother that her child looks "badass"? Okay, so that's an extreme example... but come on!

(I'm sort of cracking myself up thinking of other examples of how bad of a doctor Mariah would be... but I'll spare ya'll!)

But I do agree with you Free Christine that Meri at least seems closer to Dayton than the other wives. I think they share a birthday, right?

  3. Mariah jokes because she doesn't have an ounce of empathy. She'll never make it in med school.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Sadly some people make it through medical school who lack empathy. They become the kind of doctors who don't listen to their patients, bully nurses, talk down to their professional peers, refuse to seek second opinions even when they are unsure of a diagnosis, bad-mouth patients behind their backs etc.... We've all known doctors like this. Their arrogance is obvious within moments of meeting them. Fortunately they are the exception rather than the rule in that profession. Not everyone who lacks empathy never changes. Sometimes being exposed to life's bumps in the road help people mature and soften their attitudes towards others.

      Delete
    2. Do we really think Mariah has the grades and the motivation to become a doctor? I know lots of kids who went to college with the intentions of Med School and ended up in some other major. This isn't a slam about Mariah, it's just the rare person with the grades and motivation that makes it to Med School.

  4. I thought the entire gathering when Dayton came home from the hospital was crazy. He had just had surgery and no doubt in pain and needing to put ice on his eye but what do the idiots do...set him down and proceed to all look at his eye as if he were a side show act. The comments that Meri and Mariah make are typical of their attitude toward the other children. Remember when Maddie was upset that Logan was moving out and Mariah said why are you so upset and Maddie said because I am losing my best friend and Mariah rolled her eyes and smirked. All of the wives are so passive aggressive and their lack of empathy for each other and each other's children has bled over with the kids. I cannot imagine how horrible life is when a mom counts every nickel and dime spent by the other wives and counts every second that he spends with the other families. How awful to wait and wait for him to pick up your baby while he holds another wive's baby. It just seems way too competitive. I would hate to live that way and as each child graduates and heads out of the house, I really hope they succeed and avoid the heart ache their mothers have lived. As for Kody, he is just a prick. He really wants folks to see him as this virile stud muffin but all I see is a man who is confused about his sexuality and as a result he has confused masculinity with sex and being a "good man" with tapping more than one woman. BTW, Cynical, they blocked me too and I don't even comment on their twitter accounts. LOL.

So sorry to read that. You know, I could understand if I trolled SW fanpages or tweeted tough questions or started arguments or acted like a fool, but I only tweeted to Meri once when she had the meet and greet in AZ, and yesterday when I responded to a retweet by Kody (and Mykelti favorite it). A few minutes later BOOM...I find out Robyn axed me. So I retaliated and axed the rest of them.

    4. It was stated they were just there briefly. Then he bailed and got rest.

Kody didn't say she could not be worried. I think he was wise, the only time I think he showed wisdom ever, in being very practical minded that with that many in the family someone now and then is going to need surgery, ER visit, have an accident.

    6. I don't think the family gathering when Dayton came home was that bad. We don't know how long it went on and he might have enjoyed the attention for a little while. What I thought was bad was Christine and Kody discussing the procedure in detail in front of him at that moment. If I'd have just gone through a procedure like that, I don't think I'd want to hear people discussing "filleting my eyelid." I might have thrown up just thinking about it. Ew.

    7. I definitely think the Browns read here and that's why she blocked you. They are probably even commenting. Some of the responses I've read sure do seem suspect ;-)

    8. runKodyrun, ITA with your assessment of the dynamics of these women and their children. I don't care what flag they wave when the cameras are rolling, there is a world of hurt happening behind closed doors. They all vacillate between showing the pain too much (in a bid for attention) and not showing it at all (in an attempt to convince us benighted monogamists that they have a good thing going on. It's all horse pucky.

    9. CJ - I used to follow the old blog, and am so thankful I found this! I just binged and read practically every post going back to last June.

Anyway I just wanted to comment on Robyn blocking you.. I find it pretty ironic because since their twitters are not private, all you would have to do to see her Twitter now is to log out of your account! In fact, there's plenty of websites that aggregates a public Twitter account without having to be logged.

Thanks for all that you do, and I'm so glad I found you again!

    10. Welcome to My Living Room, skittlealy!

You are exactly right. The only way to really "block" someone is to take the twitter account "private" BUT according to MyFiveWives, they told a fan they were advised by TLC that all fan contact had to be public. So in this social media phenomenon of Live Tweeting on show nights, she had no choice but to block individuals. Being that I never attempted contact with Robyn either privately or publicly, her action simply illustrates her twisted thinking. Listen to a cray cray "friend", block and not give it a second thought. Out of sight, out of mind kind of thinking. No wonder MSWC is such a mess!

  5. SMH at Kody's comments about Mykelti dating that boy. Something like: in "our culture" "Dating is only when you are preparing to marry". While this may be true, it was disturbing because the truth of the matter is, it is likely"in their culture" that a girl would be chosen by some skeevy perv with multiple wives while the boy was cast out so as not to be competition. I'm not saying the Brown family would follow this practice with any of their kids, but to put it out there was disturbing. If they are not going to delve into the harsh realities of "their culture",especially on this topic, it's probably best not to mention it at all. The implication that their stance on dating makes them morally superior is nauseating. They know the truth about "their culture"..stop pretending.

    * Just re-posted this from previous thread as I wasn't sure if that one had gone silent. Sorry for any confusion.

True modesty comes from within and flows to the outside.

    3. Kody did say when he had his man talk to Mykeltie and her boyfriend that Mykeltie "had his biology" so he knew what she felt when they held hands. I thought that was an admission of his

Dayton has Aspergers. The *last* thing that poor kid needed or could calmly cope with is being surrounded by the herd on a good day, let alone when just post-op !!!
Not to mention the crass statements from some of his acquired Brown family clowns.
My God, these people really are Neanderthals. It isn't just Kody. They all are missing a few chromosomes.
Mariah, you best pick a new major. You are NOT wired to be a doctor (a healer).. No way!!
Girl, you surely are your mother daughter !!!

Kodyboy's obsession with his daughter's potential sexual lives, and how he equates everything, including female fashion, to sexual impact is rich, hypocritically rich !!
Considering that his daughters *know* that their father routinely has sex with their mothers and then moves on to having sex with three other women !! How does that figure into his sage advice !!?? And.... that they are expected to be A-okay with that reality while he dares to lecture them about *protecting" their bodies...even when they are married.
What a joke!! What a pathetic excuse for a man and father.

CJ, congratulations for being singled out for banishment. That in itself is a high compliment coming from Sobbin!! You too, runkodyrun !!!

She probably blocked you and CJ and anyone else because in her very limited little mind that constituted a couple of hours or so of all those "insane" hours she claims to work.

She really ought to file an unfair working-conditions claim against her employer.
Oh, wait, that would be Kody.

    9. Her VERY limited little mind evidenced by the doodle designs for MSWC. "Art with Integrity" can make you a famous designer. My favorite design is the MSWC logo. That must have taken an insane amount of hours to create.

    10. Maybe that infamous, iconic MSWC logo, the one you mentioned, the one that looks more like a dog's paw print than anything else, was actually a private little Brown family post-mortem tribute to that poor dog who was featured in an episode showing his demise and burial way back in season 2 ??

      Delete
    11. well you know my opinion CJ. The Browns should be kissing your virtual feet since if it wasn't for your blog along with other snark boards, the show would have been cancelled years ago. It's the snark contingent that's keeping it afloat.

    12. I thought Robyn explained that Dayton actually really likes the attention, and that they're all careful to notice when it's getting to be too much and then give him his space? My observation of all three of Robyn's children is that they all have seemed positively starved for attention/affection, since the very beginning of the show. Thus, I personally like that the adults and a lot of the children now seem to make a special effort to embrace Dayton. And from what I can tell - I'm pretty sure he likes it too. Even Janelle was standing there giving him what appeared to be a genuine small - that's quite a bit of warmth, coming from her. :-) Anyway, without knowing definitely that Dayton was overwhelmed and wanted them all to go away, I have a hard time faulting them for loving on him. Granted, they didn't rack up a lot of style points - what with the gross comments, etc - but I don't think that really mattered so much in this case, personally.

  7. Has he had these talks with the boys?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. For some reason I don't think Kody's sons would be as "receptive" of this kind of talk than Maddie, and let's face it, I don't think she was amused at all. But the question of the year is still...did Kody have this speech with Mariah?

      Delete
    2. It's possible that he 'intended' to give Mariah this speech... but he didn't go to her college on move-in day. Truly was in the hospital, IIRC? The speech to Madison seemed off the cuff, so he probably didn't think about what he was going to say and also waited until the last possible moment to bring it up. If he had been at Mariah's move in day, he might have come up with the same off the cuff remarks. Note that the speech to Madison was all about unwanted attention... not the same drivel as he said to MyKelti about wanted attention.

We weren't shown Aspen moving in, and Logan probably told Dad he didn't need to hear it. I am so happy to see most of the older offspring being brave enough to hold fast to what they want and not let the Kody Brown Express hold them back. I can't wait until it is Hunter's turn to escape.

      Delete
    3. It was a move in weekend. Or was it a week for Mariah?

Hopefully all these talks were done on a regular basis while growing up and not last minute wisdom. Girls need to know "no" is a complete sentence then strategies to get away from the guy including physcial violence. And what to do if the unthinkable happens. Their boys need to know that their no means no too.

Perhaps Maddie's head is focused on other things than her dad and his feelings, which I'm fairly certain is pretty normal for an 18 year old leaving for college.
I was the last of four to leave the nest. My mom cried when she dropped me off at my dorm. I was (to my shame) quite blase, laughing off her tears. I think that at that great turning point in our lives we need to gather our courage. It must have been hard for Maddie to be forced to listen to the flippant date rape lecture at that juncture.

I just turned off the DVR from watching the finale of this season's The Little Couple.
Don't know if many here watch that show, but it is a breath of fresh air, to the point of making you very glad that are people like them in this world.
Their show has featured such real life situations that go far and above just the fact that they are Little people. From their obvious status as dwarfs, to trying pregnancy, failed in- vitro surrogacy, adoption of two adorable orphaned dwarf toddlers, Jen's own cancer crisis this past year, and Bill's recent spine surgery. Through it all, they unfailingly display maturity, humor, dignity, *integrity* and an unmistakable respect and love for each other and their children.

Sure, they are getting paid to do the show, but I doubt the money was their motivation. She is an MD, he owns a business. What they are selling by doing the show is hope and inspiration for others who may be or may have a little person, or who have tried for children and turn to adoption, or who have had cancer and chemo, and most of all, a boost for people who believe that love and decency can overcome whatever life can present.
They are UN- snarkable....just decent, honest, "real" people who just happen to be smaller than most of us..!!!

Thinking about Robyn and her reaction to the suggestion to add other people's products to their webstore. I don't buy that she truly disapproved of the idea. She really didn't put up much of a fight. Either she doesn't have enough backbone to stand up for herself (maybe she complains to Kody later in private) or she was just bluffing for the sake of the show. Little whispers to Meri about "integrity" were pretty lame.
The scenes of Christine, Meri and Robyn all dirty dancing with Kody to "Keep your Hands to Yourself" were disturbing and nauseating. I would have been mortified if my parents did that at my graduation party!

  20. It was nauseating. Ysabel summed it up perfectly. She said the dance was bizarre.

    1. Nauseating is a good description, so is bizarre.
Watching adults (parents) do that yet again in front of their children and in front of the older teenage friends of their children is just plain disturbing.
What was the goal of doing pelvic thrusts at Kody as he did a ridiculously manic "dancing cyber baby" routine? Are they perversely showing the kids how it is done?
Or are they that obsessed for camera time?

They all looked mentally disturbed. Really, they did....especially Kody and Christine.
WTH did that have to do with honoring your graduating daughter.

  21. MrSpock likes Robyn's hair, but believes it is probably a lot of trouble to maintain---having to curl it and all.

MrSpock agrees that the dancing, etc., by the adults at the graduation parties takes attention away from the graduates when ALL attention should be on the graduates on such an important occasion. Would the adults do such a thing at one of the children's weddings? Hopefully, not.

Agree that Bill and Jenn (The Little Couple) are good role models for anyone.

Brown Party Central: Yes, they do have many "occasions" considering there are so many of them, but MrSpock, like many others, would really like to see daily life for the adults, especially. Getting up, going to work, running errands---following each adult through a typical day---that would be very interesting, TLC!

  23. CJ,, thank you for all your hard work as well as all the commentators that bring so fun snark. Are you going to do the recaps again? As I watched the show, I got excited anticipating your witty, insightful and "I call bs" comments. I wouldn't want you to work "insane hours" (unless it's Sobyn hours). but please, please do them.

I found it interesting that they replayed Meri's comment about Kody's look and feeling like you are loved like no other..... without the comment that put it in the painful reality - "in that moment." The one from this episode was (as several have noted) Kody realizes the reality of having so many kids and wives that his memories and quality time with Maddie was limited. Most of us who have those aha moments then vow to change. We may not always follow through as well as we hope, but we try. What a miracle and something interesting to watch it would be if Kody would have said, "So I'm going to work harder to invest in my children's lives including one on one time." Hey TLC, instead of the transparent attempts to create "drama" make Kody earn those bucks by doing that. Who knows, maybe some real and positive connection might happen in the midst of the play acting.

I love the Little Couple family as well. I know that "reality" tv is like sausage/hot dogs. If you like the taste, then be as ignorant as possible about the ingredients and how it's made. So I avoid any forums/blogs on them. Do I think they are perfect, no. But they seem to live lives of substance. I really respected the no cameras policy when they brought each child home to truly bond. My husband and I say, "please don't Gosselin us."

I hope the Brown children break free and thrive. Constantly they show they have more sense than any of the adults. Standouts in this episode were Dayton, Maddie and Ysabel.

Keep looking for the real in reality!

  25. Did anyone buy that ridiculous explanation Robyn gave for the “Robyn has an announcement” season-ender?. I certainly didn’t. I wish she would just say what she thinks and that is that she does not want another baby. She has four kids to raise! That is plenty. If she really wanted to populate Kody’s world any further, then she would be getting pregnant, even if MSWC is really (come on now!) sucking up that much of her time.

I think Kody and Maddie must have had some sort of falling out. He sure wasn’t mopey about Mariah going off to college (although it was during the Truely emergency). I find it fascinating that they think Maddie changed her mind about hating LV….I think she just made the best of the situation and set upon her goal to leave LV and head back to Utah ASAP, which she did. She is a focused and determined young lady. She did what it took to get to her goal. She made certain she could move as soon as she graduated. Good for her! If I were a kid in that family, I would want to move away, too. Just the sheer number of parties one has to attend to be a member of that family would be enough for me to move away.

TLC took a page from the My Five Wives show by having the private Janelle (who despite being so private is ok with announcing her weight and showing counseling sessions on television) all of a sudden thinks she and Meri might need to work on their relationship issues. Just like Paulie and Rosemary. Janelle will do literally anything the producers ask her to do. I guess I would too if I had all those kids to put through college. Soon, Meri will be calling Kody to fix a window at her house when Kody is with Janelle.

TLC, please stop with the stupid parties, skits and dancing polygamists. Surely these people don’t really act this way? Please tell me they don’t.

    1. I have a lot of respect for Maddie, she sees right through her dad. Kody knew he was relinquishing any last control he had over her when dropping her off at college and he did not like it. Didn't Maddie get a scholarship? That might explain why she doesn't seem to be towing her parent's line unlike poor Mykelti. Mykelti appears to be parroting whatever her parents want to hear, she doesn't seem to mean it.

    2. Did anyone buy that ridiculous explanation Robyn gave for the “Robyn has an announcement” season-ender?.
TLC/F8 must think the Sister Wives audience is really dumb because if what Robyn said was true, what was that commotion on the Tell All about up to and including Tamron Hall explaining that the next segment was suppose to be Kody and Robyn discussing baby plans, Christine suddenly having to leave and then having a "chat" with Robyn, then Robyn telling Tamron under no circumstances would she be discussing her baby plans and then spent the remaining 10 minutes looking like she was smelling something baaaaddd.

I think Kody and Maddie must have had some sort of falling out.
That whole segment was weird. I remember when Janelle tweeted about taking Maddie to Utah --- not once did she mention Kody was with them. I simply don't think he drove up there with them -- perhaps he flew in and met them there and drove back. If that car was packed with all of Maddie's stuff, where would Kody sit? Nope, I don't think he made the drive and Maddie probably had enough of the pretending. And Kody DID go to Westminster with Meri and Mariah to talk with the Director of Admissions (remember when Kody asked her if she was familiar with the words fundamentalist Mormons?). Again, I think someone outside of the Brown krew brain trust thought Kody should be present and he could give Maddie one of those hormones in mouth speeches.

Soon, Meri will be calling Kody to fix a window at her house when Kody is with Janelle.

I thought Meri already was doing that...I just KNOW Robyn does it. It's on page 103 of the Being a Sister Wife manual.

TLC, please stop with the stupid parties, skits and dancing polygamists
      WORD!!!....

    3. Of course Mariah loves her dad bc she got a new car to drive to college. Like some people have pointed out, Maddie or Mykelti didn't get a car. So I'm sure that could cause some tension & resentment too. Since Meri & Mariah are always getting the better end of deals & better things than the rest of the family & the sibling definitely know this. Did Aspyn even get a car when she left for college?

They do sell those extra long, spidery versions, although they are usually gold or silver glitter.

Oh.My.Gosh. Amused. Do these people never check themselves out in a mirror? That was ridiculous. 26. At this point, with the show reduced to scenes and plots that either are redos, fake suspense setups like Sobbin's "is she or isn't she," or events that are clearly too fake to waste time viewing, one has to ask if TLC is simply running out their contract to the end and now doesn't give two sh*ts what is edited and aired.
    Stupid, but annoying example:
Kody and Christine are talking in the kitchen about the lip-syncing for Mykelti's party and *Oops* in walks Mykelti. Christine feigns horror and sends her back upstairs.. Yeah, right !!
The viewers are expected to believe that Mykelti, after 4 years of the filming routine, didn't know that the camera and sound crew were in the house, and for sure, didn't notice them as she walked from the stairs. *This* is the blatant, lazy crap that this show is now throwing out and has become.
Plus, none of the adults and a few of the older kids are just not good actors.

All snark aside, I would love to see the Sister Wives have an hour with Stacy London...TLC loves to do cross over shows, (last year Cake Boss made a cake for Long Island Medium), so why not have the Sister Wives on Stacy London's new show so she can show them how to dress fashionably yet modestly, I think it would actually be pretty interesting....

  28. It would have been so easy during Truely's hospitalization to see the other wives pick up the slack and the husband to be more present for the child in trouble. It would be so easy to like these folks if we saw a little more community participation. Okay we saw two 5ks which are often for the people walking to be honest but the only charity was back in utah. And it was the kids helping. Especially with the adults doing reality TV, occasional real estate and a hobby business. Espeically with family members in and out of the place and I'm not even talking about Christine's mom. There are only 12 left at home and a good number of them old enough to babysit or be home alone. Three kids needs parenting. The rest need supervision and transit. We are not seeing the blessings they are insisting are granted to them for doing this with their life. It would have been better to show the family when there were five kids in diapers, janelle and kody working regular jobs, Meri going to school and working part time. To see how they parented each other kids the same. It looks like only Christine really is invested in each child. But how can Robyn be. Why would the kids let her so late to the party? She hasn't earned it by putting in the time. It's not even possible for the others to be really invested in her kids. They all are interested but at a distance when it comes to her kids. When David came home he had three other mothers question him before he went to bed after the surgery. I am glad they showed that. Maybe it's the editing? Did they not pray over it? Were the rest of the kids fending for themselves or were they sleeping over at another's house? Surely they weren't alone while mom was freaking and their brother in surgery and Kody with them. Where was the army of practical support? I'd like to see them at the store and making dinner. Doing everyday things. Sh at happens if at dinner there are three bonus children playing with your kids, is there enough? Do they get sent home? How different are the rules for each of the kids. Do some kids get to do things the others don't? And how can they all life that life if they don't produce three to five times the daughters as they produce sons? Are they really that bad at math? Can they just say not all of the boys with do this? With the daughters admitting there is no chance in heck they would take on sister wives the number of daughters needed just goes up for the math to work. I know they don't throw the boys out, but how can they say they want all the kids to live it work? In some part of the brain the reality of that is just not realistic. Have them shop at clothing stores where they actually buy the stuff that they can wear according to their standards. Do they do anything together at all besides make cakes for parties. Janelle is right. With three parties a month that is a lot of cake and special dinners to consume.

  29. I can't seem to get the reply button to open a comment screen, so I am starting new post. I should point out that I haven't made it through this episode. I tried three times, I couldn't do it. I'll just wait for the recap. I've also been awake for about 30 hours, and will probably not make any sense.

kms @9:39 I agree that the show would be much more interesting if they would show everyday things. That is why I started watching. I wanted to know how these women parent together, shop for food and clothing for all the kids, share a husband etc. However, when we did get a brief glimpse, it only proved that they were separate families, not one like they were insisting, and it always revolved around Kody. We all know they read here, and it has been said many times, so why not show their real lives?

Hagar's Harem @7:46 I would actually watch an episode of the Brown's with London. I dress rather modestly myself, and it can be hard to find clothing sometimes. For years the clothing has become more revealing or too tight, and to find something that doesn't look like body parts are hanging out requires dressing frumpy or in ugly clothing. I also have no fashion sense and don't like to shop, but I digress. Stacy London has always dressed people appropriately for what they were wanting. They could then sell the types of clothes Stacy suggests for each wife on MSWC.

RE: Robyn's pregnancy announcement: With the cliffhanger over the phone call, and Robyn smirking and saying something about "sometimes you have to take a call" with that sheepish grin and aren't I cute look, followed up by the Tell All where baby making was not discussed, viewers of the show got really angry. I don't me us viewers, who really were not surprised, but the actually fans of the show and the Browns who seemed to feel cheated by the non announcement.

The twitter feeds at the time were full of fans voicing their displeasure at the way it was handled, because it made the Browns look like they thought their fans and viewers were stupid and would think it was cute, all while waiting with baited breath for the formal announcement. The fans did not like it, and they had to address it somehow. Something I read somewhere, either here or another board, the general consensus was that Robyn was going to announce a miscarriage. I don't remember what it was based on, but if true, Robyn would have received sympathy instead of anger from her fans for trying to lead them on and not addressing the rumors.

  30. Can't believe no one has mentioned the scene of Mykelti and discussions of her being in a not so good fashion world, but then the next scene is of them dropping their wares off at a lesbian polygymist's Goodwill store?? So much for any morality; Browns? Actions speak LOUDER than words. Everything you present is a sham. Just give it up already and stop with all of this nonsense. Oh - you're getting paid for the nonsense. Then by all means, sell your soul out for this bizarre life you all lead.

We all KNOW their 'freedoms' are most important and precious... regardless of public and legal perception.
I don't think any of them could make a morality argument about anyone's sexual practices with a straight face, especially not one that is inherently homophobic.

  31. Why didn't Maddie, Janelle and Kody pack up the car the night before?

Why isn't Kody using his marketing background to help make the business a success?

When they brought the jewelry to the store, they questioned whether the photo of the man with four wives on the display stand might turn potential buyers off? It's like they can't decide is the line of jewelry "out" or "hiding" the fact of what it stands for? Why did they pick jewelry?

I can see the designing daughter start creating fashion to sell on the web site. But who'd want it? Maybe some cute one piece tops that look like they're layered (t-shirt under cami) for modesty?

Robyn's eyelashes remind me of Tammy Faye Baker's.

Well from my perspective....Maddie would have done they same think in Utah if she had stayed, it is her personality and her personal drive. What I do find interesting is that from Maddie's mouth she said... "As soon as I turn 18, I am moving back to Utah and never coming back"....Ummmmmm, Kody....Jenelle....that is exactly what she did! I felt when they were talking about her on the couch they were trying to convince US that the move to Vegas was Kody's brilliant idea and that he was absolutely right in "escaping".

    CJ, I hope you don't !!
The reality is that your efforts and participation in the former SWBlog and certainly now as creator and owner of your Living Room Blog has done more for the Klowns of Kodyworld and TLC then any of then can ever refute.
I speak only for myself, but had it not been for the two blogs, I would have lost interest in Kody and his sad, silly harem four and 1/2 years ago. I suspect there are many who would say the same thing.
Their credibility has been blown to hell since the end of season one.
If their ratings were solely dependent on the starry-eyed SW sycophants, without the added numbers of the snark viewers, doubtful they would still be on the air.

Sobbin, (and you and the rest DO read here)....
Do you not realize how stupid it is to block the very person who keeps your names out there???!!!!!
SInce your online store is a rapidly sinking ship, what does that tell you about the viability of your "fans" other than that they offer empty platitudes on FB.
The snark fans are keeping your numbers up above the water line. The blog owner is not someone you want to piss off. There are scores of other "reality shows" she can showcase if she chooses.

  38. I'm a little behind here, but I wanted to comment about Bill & Jen of The Little Couple. Yes, they have agreed to participate in some "special" activities for the show, such as Will's & Zoey's birthday parties, the trip to the pumpkin patch, and taking the kids out trick-or-treating. But even in those episodes, they allowed the true nature of the children shine through. Zoey was much more interested in going to see the pony than she was in the pumpkins. It is obvious that the Kleins have made friends with their neighbors, because Will went right into the first house on Beggar's Night, and made himself at home - thinking they were just there to visit.

I have been very impressed with the segments they have done at the hospital, showing Jen's specialty of simulating different situations. They showed a setup where the mother & sister of a young boy learned what they needed to do in an emergency situation when the boy was released to go home.

In the most recent episode, I found it quite enlightening that they simulated how they would handle an ebola patient if the need arose. Jen is no dummy, and is obviously well respected in her field. Previously the cameras visited Bill's dog shop a couple of times. In between showing the parts of their lives that include cancer and surgery and their professional lives - there are also plenty of moments of true interaction with the kids. Of course TLC suggests (or approves of) particular situations, but I don't see any of the silly stupid activities that the Browns (and many other TLC shows) indulge in.

I record SW and spend a lot of time fast forwarding. Otherwise, The Little Couple is the only show I consistently watch on TLC. Too bad they can't come up with more honest to goodness "real" people to build a show around.
