  1. CJ, thanks for inviting us to your living room. It is a fun place to visit.

  2. Last week, Meri declared, "Politics are stupid." So, this week, the story is about the Browns' lawsuit. And, Christine, whose "Bring it on," at some protest got the Browns their show, now is afraid to protest. She says its the discrimination that makes her afraid to move back to Utah, but that's also a different story from two weeks ago...

  3. The "adults" are having a big discussion about going to march on the state capital in Utah---afraid they will be arrested. But, they keep going back to Utah---St. George for the wedding, Mary owning the house in Parowan---no arrests.

    1. They AlWAYS seem to be going to Utah.

  4. They keep saying they are "felons" in Utah...no one is a felon unless they are CONVICTED of a felony. This annoys MrSpock. Kody also keeps saying he can't run for public office in Utah---ridiculous.

  5. Kody had a big list of things that not all polygamists are. He actually included welfare frauds. Does he not know that his family defrauded welfare more than one time by declaring single mothers with children.

    2. And let's not forget stiffing hospitals with large bills!

    3. This is the real roadblock for the pro-polygamy marchers. Until the Welfare Fraud issue is logistically worked out, there is no way to make multiple-beyond-2-adults-marriages viable.

"Scamming" of the system is pervasive in these large families that demand huge amounts of resources to support. That is not fair.

      Delete
    4. Back in Black, you are right on the money with this analysis. The only way the government has made the inroads it has in busting up the FLDS is through all the successful prosecution of WelfareFfraud. The Welfare Fraud issue continues to be the easiest way to attack the Jeffs cult. It also remains the most easily abused system by polygamists.

    2. He should have advised them on powers of attorney long before this march.

And, he needs to educate Christine that her child's emotional damage caused by Kody's decision to flee in the middle of the night isn't a constitutional issue. Paedon may have a tort claim against Kody, though - or maybe he can be a named plaintiff in the viewers' class action suit. After all, how many times must he and we relive that flashback?

    3. LOL, Grifter!! A viewers' class action...love it!

    4. Did anyone else notice that Mary is not wearing a wedding ring?

  7. Kody just called Dayton by his real name, "David."

    ReplyDelete

    1. I wondered that too - I am so used to Robyn saying his name and omitting the "T" and it comes out as one syllable (Dayon) that I had myself convinced that Kody was just doing a somewhat better job articulating.

  8. This just makes me ill. These adults will talk and talk until the kids will agree to come. The adults want to feel ok with their choices, they won’t accept if their kids don’t want to also make a big stink about it.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. However, Meri's "talking head" indicating that Mariah isn't gung-ho to join this particular rally because she isn't going to live polygamy was quite interesting. Waiting to see if Mariah joins in or if Mariah is only interested in her own "rights".

      Delete
    2. I think it's a reminder that the children are there to populate Kody's planet. If marching - much less getting arrested for it - is so high-risk, why would inflict it upon their children who are going to apply to military academy or college?

That whole sccene was to repeat so often that they had to flee Utah and they were so persecuted that the Browns and their sychophants believe it.

      Delete
    3. I caught that when Mariah greeted her mom at the march, Mariah claimed to "have been crying all day." For goodness sake - march or don't march but there's no damn reason to spend the day bawling about it.

      Delete
  9. I'm thinking some of those kids might actively revolt over being uprooted and dragged back to Utah. Is this a last ditch effort to get a few more seasons by traumatizing their kids or are they facing balloon payments in those mortgages they can't meet and spinning move before eviction faces them?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I believe they have been paing "interest only" payments to date and now but start paying full payments or refinance the mortgages. Going back to Utah is all about $$$$.

    2. With the number of empty homes in Vegas when the phone moved they could have easily found homes close together. Heck they could have bought 4 attached town homes. They could have owned them outright. All the wives could have them in their names only.

  10. Christine is teaching her kids to chant “no more dumb rules!” Isn’t that cute. So Truly, I guess you only have to obey the house rules if you agree with them. Ok.

    1. That house has rules? Thought it only had edicts from the man boy :)

    2. Ya, such a good little Mormon family teaching their kids to break the laws of the land. So I guess when their kids decide to break another law like stealing cars or selling drugs, then all these parents will need to do is go march at the capital and hope they change the laws to suit their family. God forbid they should ever go to jail for breaking the law!!

  11. Christine gives her children to Robyn in case she doesn't return. What about her mother. Isn't Annie a better choice to continue the lifestyle her children are living. Annie is living in the same house as Christine. Robyn is in a different house. Hm! Christine seems to think that having "friends" who sleep with your husband is the only way to trust another woman. What planet does she get this from.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Robyn is a shyster!!!! It looks like she just tricked Christine into signing away her rights. When the show is over Kody can collect the kids and leave without having to worry about paying Christine child support! Ahh...Living with a sociopath!

      Delete
    2. Yep grandma. The state may not agree with Robyn. The state also had to agree. Aspen or grandma would make sense. Or stop breaking the law and not worry about it?

    3. Wait a minute, did Christine just give her power of attorney? Over her life?
      Or just for her kids?
Someone with legal experience please clarify what power of attorney covers in this case.
Power of attorney over her kids? Financial? Home ownership? Housing of children? Metal health?
Cuz this is crazy, Christine better be careful because legal Mrs. Brown could get rid of her pretty easy if it covers these other issues.
I'm no legal expert, but I certainly would want to give anyone whom has expressed and acted on the legal power grab that Robchin caused in Brown town my power of attorney to act on my behalf. WTF
Sorry but I wouldn't loan Robchin a cup of sugar let alone my kids.

      Delete
    4. Annie still must not be "safe." Safe enough to help clean the house and care for her kids. But not a "safe" enough person to take over raising her children. And actually......a world where Annie got to raise the kids might just have Christine legitimately worried about the kids views on polygamy!

      Delete
  12. Robin told Dayton if arrests start happening he should grab other kids and run and hide? Is that what we do when law enforcement comes? What a weight she’s putting on that boy. Which kids will he “rescue”? What about the ones he can’t? That’s the picture she’s painting for him. Fear.

  16. According to a Salt Lake Tribune article, that march totaled about 200 people once it got to the state house. Those 200 included polygamy protesters and a film crew from "Escaping Polygamy."

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Add to that the production crew for Sister Wives and basically most of the family members from all current and past TLC plyg shows - so I guess we can get to 200 people pretty quick!

What is up with Chris (the minister that married Mykelti) and his wife showing up at the march??! They are mainstream mormon. This just confirms to me that all the air time they have angled for (think about all the scenes Chris has had - going clear back to when Kody went to Chris to have him act as Kody's personal loan shark - and then all the nonsense in another season about Chris hiring Mykelti and providing her a manger to live in - I think Chris' airtime during the wedding episodes rivaled that of Kody's) I can only conclude that Chris thinks TLC needs their answer to the History channels "Pawn Stars" show.
Wouldn't that be rich if the spinoff from Sister Wives was not the older kids or a wife breaking free---but rather a pawn store show!!

    1. Under Spoiler Alert:

The show ends with a contemplative Kody, saying, "It's not over. I don't know what's next, but it's not over."

He's supposedly talking about the legislation, but I think it's really about his life post-Sister Wives. That life won't include a job, of course.

      Delete
  20. I think it is important to remember that also marching with the Browns was Heidi Mattingly from the Kingston Clan (the biological mother of Jessica and Andrea from Escaping Polygamy).
After watching Escaping Polygamy it was strange to watch this march from the Brown’s perspective. It’s also interesting that the Polygamists aren’t looking to have it legalized only de-criminalized. If it were legal they would have legal obligations to ALL the wives and ALL the children

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Interesting observation, Hagar's Harem. Of course, the father will always have legal obligations to his children...but, if polygamy became legal (as opposed to decriminalized) could that mean that all the "spouses" would be legally obligated to each other (say, with Social Security, debts, etc. etc.) and to all the children. Very interesting---and legally complicated.

      Delete
    2. I've been reading many stories about the State caring for the Sister Wives aka "single mothers" with Welfare payments, food stamps, bankruptcies... Imagine if Kody and the Kodettes, and the like, couldn't use those means to support their families if polygamy was legalized!

      Delete
    3. If it were legal they could not claim single mother status they could NOT get welfare, food stamps, medical coverage, WIC food and other advantages. Many have set up even apartment style living arrangements for the man to collect housing credits from Section 8 housing. I don't believe the Browns collected any section 8, but Christine did name Kody as landlord on a form in the past. My memory fails me , but it was on a application, bankruptcy or food stamp form. If anyone remembers please comment. The Lehi house had clearly marked apartments A, B, and C. Simply for welfare benefits. It is always been about bleeding the beast, to make the shark-gentile government pay for your huge clan of mothers and children and work as little as possible. Why should they work? I mean they are GODS in training and clearly must concentrate on filling their planet with spirit babies while we tax payers support their religious belief system. I believe food stamp fraud was the most recent big raid and conviction of FLDS.

    6. No they could get tons of benefits. It seems based on family size and income. All the moms can stay home and the kids will be able to eat. All kids actually should be able to eat.

      Delete
    7. That's why in reality most of the polygamist families they called didn't support the march. They DON'T want it legalized. Then they couldn't bleed the beast. Much better to just stay under the radar and collect the benefits!

  21. Christine and/ Robyn (forget which) was talking on and on about how legislators should talk to the "wives" of polygamists and find out for themselves how happy and content all those women are---then you watch "Seeking Sister Wife" and see how "happy" the wives of the Birney family are----which is not at all, since they all want to kill each other---or the ads for the "One Man Three Wives" where they talk is of jealously, etc. etc. Oh, yes, Robyn/Christine, the "happiness" is overwhelming.

If that is true, then Joe Darger must be as mentally stunted as Kody. And I am not referring to the fact that they both are harem masters. Big Joe has to know what a flaming moron Kody has portrayed himself all these show years. Other than high-5ing each other for their respective success in getting women to agree to be one of several bedmates and produce a horde of children, does Joe really relate to and enjoy being bros with Kody-Idiot.??

    ReplyDelete
  25. They are breaking the law. Don’t feel the least bit sorry for them. Not surprised they were not arrested. Weren’t they just in Utah for a wedding? Didn’t a kid or go to school there and didn’t they drop them off? Don’t be married to anyone if you can’t be married in any sense to more than one person. It’s not complicated. Their founder’s official family never practiced plural marriage nor did they incorporate it into their flavor of the latter day movement. Just admit it’s a Brigham Young thing. This is bad for public policy. A man is keeping three other men single and without a partner. They are denying some of their sons wives, even more if some of the girls don’t live that way. Math education is needed desperately. Aspen should care for the kids if her and Kody can’t do it. Robyn just sleeps with the same guy and lives on the block. She isn’t a step mom since he didn’t stop sleeping with the rest of them. Is there any concept of gluttony. And we see Kody is done with Meri, three other women why would he need to worry about her? These people are not ‘better’, they are a mess. Now another series about polygamy. Remember when TLC just showed us labor and delivery?

  27. Just started watching and have to say to that tonight’s epp is almost impossible to 1- take seriously,
2- have the least bit of interest in the faux drama, let alone ANY sympathy for these deluded grifters.

But really amused at the “forensic files” background music, too, too funny.

Pretty clear that this is their rebuttal to 8 years of viewers calling them out them out for those stupid, stupid scene in Lehi pretending that Kody was going to be arrested so that all those kids were filmed crying and scared. It was despicable then and the fact that they are using this epp to continue to push it is still despicable.
They moved to Vegas to start new storylines, to pump the show!! Just stop the BS!

Sobbin led the tear brigade as usual. Hey, Sobbin, you made a choice to be in the harem. Just stop!
Kody is in his glory in this epp. He needs his Burger King robe and crown because he is really working it.

Janelle, you feel so righteous that you should have the right to have sex and kids with a man who does his thing with other women too. Fair enough! But why should taxpayers have to support your choice when you expect others to pay for your choices. And it is documented that your “family” has done just that!

This epp is chock full of hypocrisy, and is nothing but PR for Kodyworld and a PR push for all the new Plyg shows coming from TLC.

    1. Actually he can sleep around. Sleeping around isn’t the crime. The state would have allowed her to marry Christine or Robyn. I really don’t know why they didn’t do that. Didn’t robyn trust Janelle with her three kids from David? I still am mad as heck she stole them from their father and stole Kody from Meri. Kody is one greedy glutton. And no way Kody will dismiss Meri cause it’s not worth it, he still HAS three other women he can pretend to care about and get sex from. She is already on paper divorced from him for no real reason. Her older girls could have gone with David if the lot had been thrown in prison. Wasn’t she worried about them, just the babies? They let you take babies with you to prison.

    1. Lisasumms, with regards to Kody's prayer, I was rather fascinated by that. I feel like the show can end now that we have finally seen the Brown's huddle up in a group hug/prayer as the Brady Williams family often did on "My 5 wives."

The Brown's make it convenient to forget they are practicing polygamy for religious reasons because we never see that side of their life (if it exists beyond the occasional Sunday sermon!) Over these last 8 long years there has been one or two random prayers before eating a meal. Anyway, I was rather shocked to witness it. Even Janelle had her arm around Meri's. 35. I don't get this fear of Utah, and pushing that fear on their kids. Like CJ mentioned in the intro, Meri has her B&B there. IIRC they owned their house in Lehi for some time, and they traveled back to visit. In an earlier episode that aired in 2013, they head down to St. George to promote My Sister Wives Closet at an expo.

  36. I'm really late to the party, and I am now catching up on episodes, so sorry this is probably on the wrong post. I am watching the episode with Mykelti's wedding shower and Kody and Jangle are discussing Caleb and Maddie moving back in:

    1) Lingerie at a regular bridal shower? I'm sorry, I don't know much about Mexican American culture, but didn't anyone tell them that there is a difference between a Bridal Shower and a "Personal Shower/Bachelorette Party?" And I honestly am getting major deja vu, like we have discussed this exact thing about the Browns before...

    2) They just mentioned that they have 2 MORE FULL BATHROOMS! Make the boys move bathrooms, case closed. WHY do they think they have to remodel a brand new mcmansion???

Ok, rant over...more to come as I catch up on the episodes. :)

    1. Rant #2

      1) Caleb and Maddie want to be close to family/hospital in case he needs medical care. Don't they have family where they lived in Montana or Wyoming or where ever they were?

      2) Dude, seriously, get an apartment or house. Don't move in with your in-laws.

      3) And having a baby before either of you finish school?

      4) Hahaha, Meri and Jangle saying the Women's march isn't political in nature. If you aren't trying to enact political and cultural change, then why march? Did they not see all of the political speeches from celebrities at the women's march the last few years? And I'm probably going to catch some heat for this, but I kind of agree with Kody: why march for women or gay/lesbian/LBGTQ+ rights when they pretty much already have their rights (politically, maybe not socially or culturally, if that makes sense), but not want to focus on getting polygamy rights?

  37. 1) Anyone notice that Kody kept pushing Robyn to cry? He even commented that no one in the room would mock her. Has Robyn been holding back due to public opinion?

    2) I agree that Robyn shouldn’t have been Christine’s first choice. Why not Annie and/or Aspen?! I noticed both were at the march. LOL at no mention of M&T.

    3) Janelle only has
two at home and no mention of who she picked. Here’s hoping it Logan or Hunter. Logan was at the March.

    4) So Christine takes all her kids to the march but Robyn won’t even let Mindy or her oldest two daughters go?!

    1. if Christine was so traumatized by the idea of being a felon to the point of signing over guardianship of her kids, why take them to the very place said children could witness the arrest?? The Brown's think everyone is stupid??? the storyline are so short sighted

    2. Annie was at the march??? I thought she was really against polygamy, that she feels she escaped that lifestyle. That was discussed when she moved in with Christine, or maybe it was way earlier.

I'm sorry if this senitment has been expressed already but I'm struck by how annoying it is that Robyn continues to say how hurt she is that no one in her community is willing to speak out and attend that march when she and most of her children are CHOSING TO STAY HOME. I understand that she was speaking in part to the fact that she and the rest of the Brown's have chosen to be public, but she continued to reference the march that she was CHOSING TO NOT ATTEND HERSELF.

    1. She's a legal wife. It's just talk. She has the rights of a legal marriage so when it comes down to it, she thinks she doesn't have to worry about it.

  39. I noticed that Anne Wilde a cofounder of Principle Voices, which is a group that promotes polygamy was also at the gathering. She is the person who suggested the Brown family for the show.

  40. The pre-rally meeting was a TLC reunion! The Browns, the Dargers, the Alldredges, and the Brineys were all there. The "Escaping Polygamy" girls were at the rally, too.

  41. Meh, I had the show on for about 10 minutes, then turned it off and did more important things with my time.

  42. So they all have to leave Utah cause the landlord knows they are polygamist? Isn’t there a lease? Why would the landlord want the tenant to leave a month into moving in with 11 months left? This was never meant to be a house for long. It’s Brown and Brady 3.0. Go on tv and then move. If they are all so gosh darn supportive of each other why can’t she live in whatever state she wants. You can arrest people after they leave the state if you really try.

  43. I may be wrong but it looks like Robyn has a gained a lot of weight, becoming larger than Christine...I bet that hurts her ego.

  44. At the proverbial end of the day and final scene of "the March," what we are left with is a masterful (well, attempted one anyway) PR event for TLC's stable of current and new upcoming Plyg shows.

No doubt Joe Darger did orchestrate the march, however where the credibility started to unravel was when he lavished praise on Kody for coming. For coming?? Laughable!
As if Kody would pass such an opportunity to be on camera in front of a crowd!

It is worth a mention that Big Joe D. has been battling the state of Utah all along. His presence was legitimate. But when he stood at the dripping podium thanking Kody Narcissist Brown for his bravery for going public and enduring abuse for the cause, then it became sketchy.
    Come on, Joe !!
It wasn't bravery that propelled Kody "look at me" Brown to expose himself, his "wives" and all those kids to public scrutiny.
It was euphoria !!! The kind of euphoria that only a narcissistic, attention addict can relish with such delight.
For Kody's super ego, this was a dream come true. A gig that paid substantially just for being on camera and rambling mindlessly, being provided with endless paid trips, four 1/2 million houses for his harem, freebies right and left, paid appearances, paid media articles, photo shoots, etc., etc.
When it comes to Kody Brown and his alleged bravery in going public, you gotta factor in greed and looking for a work-free life.
Still wanting to call it abuse....in Kody's case???

And Joe, I can't blame you for doing it, but rather shrewd to make sure Ol Kody showed up with his trophy Plyg royalty wife, Christine, and have her speak!! And also, for sure, have Kody be accompanied by his show's cameras.
And shrewd too, to get as many of the current, past and wannabe TV plygs as you could in one place for the cameras and for TLC's production and marketing depts.

Unfortunately, at the end of the day....the state of Utah still wasn't impressed.

  45. Just read that Vanessa Aldredge of Seeking Sister Wife is the sister of Aspyn's fiancé. Small plyg world. Wonder if this means Aspyn will live the lifestyle?

    1. I can only hope that having witnessed the pain of polygamy firsthand, they would reject the lifestyle. I actually would have much preferred to see Aspyn's wedding on their show after suffering through Mykelti's (sites are saying they will marry this June 17) however, I can't imagine TLC televising Aspyn's wedding even if the show is still limping along.

There is too much controversy surrounding her fiance's father, Lynn Thompson--prophet and leader of the AUB group. After several women, including his daughter, Rosemary Williams (of TLC's "My Five Wives), accused him of sexual abuse, I can hardly think TLC will want to wade into this mess. Rosemary is also the half sister of Mitch Thompson.

I was hoping that because Mitch claims to have spent part of his growing up years in Seattle, that maybe he was raised by a mom who left the AUB? It is interesting to me that he was in Seattle. I've never thought of Seattle as a breeding ground for polygamy but now I am beginning to wonder! "My Five Wives" had a whole episode about Brady Williams being raised near Seattle and it showed him coming back here to visit and look for a possible place to relocate his family.
And to respond to Back in Black's comment below about Brady's new house he built after their recent bankruptcy--it is beyond bizarre and I could not find one bit of info about it other than seeing the picture they have posted on their FB page.

    2. Big Sky,
I agree, Aspyn’s wedding will surely be more tasteful and gracious.
However, since we can’t know her plans for plyg or not, along with her guy’s infamous lineage,
You’re right...TLC probably won’t film it. But they may capitalize on yet another “shower!”
That is, as you said, SW is even still squeaking out some ratings.

  46. I just saw the new house of the Brady Williams family, posted on their facebook page last December.

    What? How?

    Anyone know their recent story?
