Sister Wives Live TWEET Party for February 18, 2018

Welcome to tonight's tweet party for February 18th, 2018!!!

But first....

Last week Meri sadly embarked the Allure of the Seas without seeing an alligator. Well, today Meri disembarked the Allure. The LLR cruise may be over, but it was just the beginning of Meri's renewed quest for....ALLIGATOR!!

Apparently, Meri not only got to meet and greet some alligators, she later actually ate her young ....I mean, some fried alligator flesh for a tasty snack!

She said it taste like chicken, y'all!

Meanwhile, back in the cul-de-sac, Meri's absence went unnoticed. As usual.

Robyn wrote an uncharacteristic Valentine's Day tweet. She only used "I" three times...hmmmm....

But leave it to Kody's legal wife and Mommy Dearest to remind her followers Meri isn't the only sisterwife (and former Mrs Kody Brown) that can have FUN!!

Then we have Jangle, who is always quick to remind her followers she's got her favorite bakery on speed dial...but admitting to giving her family a picture of their gift because she didn't think it was necessary to order ahead of time is...well...bizarre...

I've been saving a seat for ya on the sofa....I hope you are ready for tonight's entertainment! Let the discussions begin!!!

Satisfy your need to discuss the show here in the comfort of my living room!
Meri: Oh yeah! I got some Valentine Day gifts for ALL of y'all.  Hope you like alligator!

It's Sister Wives  L I V E  T W E E T  P A R T Y  T I M E   !!!

Prepare yourself for MORE Mr. Robyn Brown  BLOVIATING!!

Kody: Meri, Did you remember to get a special Valentine's gift for me and my wife Robyn?

Will the current Mrs. Kody Brown even tweet tonight?

Robyn: I can't wait for my girls to get married so I can get some quality face time on the show!

GET SET FOR MORE SISTER WIVES FUN AND GAMES!!!

Meri: Don't knock the power of fried alligator, Kody! Just sayin'...

Gird up your loins!
Sister Wives is on the snark menu in My Living Room Tonight!!!

DON'T FORGET TO WEAR YOUR ICONIC MSWC JEWELRY AND YOUR BEST LLR LEGGINGS!

#CantWaitForMyNextCruise

LET THE SNARKING BEGIN!!!

  1. Thank you CJ for opening your living room for us to snark in. I wouldn't find the show nearly as entertaining if I couldn't read the comments of this group. They add a lot to the silly repetitive TLC script.

  2. Ah, now we have more information why Maddie and Caleb moved to Las Vegas...he had a pulmonary embolism; they want to be closer to family and good medical care. They did not explain why he had the embolism---sickness? family history? unknown? Wonder if he is on blood thinners---that is a real possibility, but they have not said yet. Anyway, while the move is understandable, not sure why they just didn't get themselves an apartment since it is clear Caleb is feeling not so good about moving into Janelle's house---that it bothers him that they are having to do this right now.

    1. Agree that they should do an apartment OR move into Mark's completely empty upstairs. She has nobody but herself there. They could use that whole area and really spread out.. isn't this what other "moms" are for??? Thought that was a "perk of polygamy"

    2. Meri.. not Mark! (Autocorrect!) Sorry

  3. Did anyone else see the dog pee on the floor when Miriah was talking with Mary and Jamelle??

  4. The four "wives" just had a discussion with Kody about Meri and Janelle going with Mariah and her pals to the million women march. Kody was afraid it would take away from the Dargers and their efforts to decriminalize polygamy in Utah. Kody ranted that he is living in "exile" and wants return to "home" in Utah. They sure are playing this up---that Nevada was allegedly temporary.

  5. Caleb claims, because they are having a boy (well, at that time it was "having") he then has a "hunting buddy." Mmmmm, females can, and do, hunt, too.

    1. Thank you Mr. Spock.
One of the reasons my father abandoned me was because his other girlfriend gave him the boy he wanted. I seriously want to claw a person's eyes out when they long for a boy instead of just being happy theyre able to have a baby at all.

  6. Robyn thinks it's good that they go to Therapist Nancy to "chat it out." Let's not forget that Robyn's the plyg whisperer. Christine and Robyn are both self-righteous in the talking head about Meri's and Janelle's couples therapy.

That is such a great tagline for Robyn!

  7. Hmm. Now that we have gone a year in the future after this march I’m thinking Mariah wasn’t filling them in on the whole March. Did they really not know this was very political? Whether we each agree with their position or not we agree that that time period and that March had everything to do with politics? And J and M were defending going like it was a quiet friendly non-political event. It sounds silly to me that anyone would think at that time and place it wouldn’t be political.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Agree. You'd have to have been on Mars to not realize all the politics behind that march. Of course, the Browns were "in exile" in Nevada, so maybe it was a mystery to them. Ha! Ha!

  8. Omg the therapist wants them to identify the other’s actions and motives... get on with life people!!! They don’t have better things to spend their time doing? Gosh. Work. Modest people are busy working and taking care of loved ones. They seem to have a lot of space in their heads to always consider what “place” they were in, where they are in their heads. I know as a woman I do more of this than my husband, but still nowhere near like they do all the time. My husband does that kind of thinking like 0% of the time. I spend maybe 7% of my time thinking about larger themes and interpersonal motives. But these women...

  9. We have all looked back at photos depicting our past fashion choices and screamed NO!!! I’m wondering if Mariah’s “NO” moment will come in 25 years when she takes a look back at the nose ring.

    1. Or the eyebrows.

That thick, Lily Collins/Cara Delavigne/Joe Jonas "drawn in with a Sharpie marker" eyebrow look just doesn't seem flattering to me, on anyone. Not to say a thin line is better, but something in the middle that artistically works with the underlying bone structure.

  11. Can only watch tonight in brief snatches......will watch in entirety tomorrow.
BUT......hard to get vested in any of this with sincere interest since ALL of it happened early last year.

Absolutely......how ridiculous to claim “the March” was not centered in politics. Absurd!

  12. Mariah has just introduced the girl she is dating. Despite all the "congratulations" and hugs, etc. from Mariah's family, MrSpock does not believe that deep down in their hearts or minds, that any of the "wives" or Kody are really happy about the relationship. It goes against their core beliefs, but, because they are on TV or they are afraid to appear other than "with it" in today's culture, they smile and pretend it is all A-okay with them. But, if this show is supposed to be about their beliefs and living "the principle" and following the teachings they claim they follow, then why aren't they speaking up? Where is their honesty? Have they abandoned their religion? It sure seems so.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Oddly enough the maybe truest thing in speaking of their beliefs was Kody talking about what them going to the march has to do with feeling a conflict and the rights of plygs. Either they really believe their deep seated religion where people don’t kiss before marriage or you are totally and completely accepting of every type of lifestyle. They really don’t seem to be compatible thoughts. But whatevs I guess. I don’t care anymore. I think they sold out long ago. I would just like them to acknowledge it and stop trying to portray themselves as these deeply religious plygs. I don’t see them as that anymore.

      Delete
    2. The introduction of the girlfriend was extremely awkward. Why did it have to be a major announcement? My kids usually just told me when they met someone and when the relationships became more serious the person would come over to meet us. The weird line up of young women while the parents speculated who the girlfriend was was gross.

  13. Meri's upset that Janelle spoke for her... well she hasn't been upset at Robyn speaking for her, or the whole family. Sobbin interrupts and speaks for everyone

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Janelle raised that point in the therapy session too. I did get the feeling that in more than one way Meri has lost her voice in the family, and that's what is really behind her being upset.

      Delete
    2. Meri may be railing because she feels she has no voice in the family, but I am team-Janelle on this. Getting an accusatory text from someone, out of the blue, when you didn't realize you had offended them is not okay. For Meri to wait and text her dis-pleasure instead of broaching the subject during or right after the interview smacks of severe passive aggressive behavior. Trying to have a friendly relationship with a person who is passive aggressive is next to impossible. One never knows when they have crossed a line until much later when it is too late to fix the issue.

      Delete
    3. she lost her voice because she was willing to walk away and has checked out. So the Brown's have 12-13 cars with two that don't run and had to be pushed. How may are in the garages on top of that?? Kody still dosnt fix his wife's cars.

      Delete
    4. "Kody still doesn't fix his wife's cars."

Hmm..I guess maybe that was part of their "mission statement" debuted at their iconic "(should be committed) Commitment" extravaganza !! It was probably listed in a sub-text about wifely chores vs Kody-Idiot getting more free time.

But more to the point, WHY the hell did the producers have the editors include that ridiculous footage of the pushing of the dead cars? Did it add anything beyond more viewer annoyance.

Are they that desperate to fill these totally unnecessary TWO hours shows. Apparently so !!

    5. The few times that this show has shown Kody doing anything with tools etc....I would NOT want him to TOUCH my car!!

      Delete
    6. I hear ya Roslyn, I take care of my own car and wont let my husband touch it. My point was that after the awful breakdowns they had on highways with small kids in the car (flat tires, engine seize) that it would be a priority for Kody to make sure his cars didnt just be driven till they die with so many kids. But yet this is the Brown's and never seem to learn anything from experience.

    7. Did anyone notice the white SUV Janelle drove to therapy? Wow she sure has come up since the 1990 Honda Accord with the window that didn't go down and the temp spare on it, with no hubcaps. The front grill looked like a Lexus or Audi...that was serious change for that puppy.
I guess her and Christine have been rewarded for falling in line after the new Mrs.Brown became first wife. Both Janelle and Christine have new White luxury SUV's.

  15. I am confused.
In this epp Meri essentially admits that plyg marriages do not necessarily foster empowerment for females.
Later Janelle proudly proclaims how empowered she is in her Plyg marriage.
These ladies really need to take a class on effective messaging.

  16. Question. Okay, I'm catching up on episodes today because im behind. Does anyone else ever catch this thing that Robin does when the are on the couch and she's talking and gets amused with herself and tosses her head back, closes her eyes and gives a weird little laugh? It's just so painfully awkward and fake when she does it. I get embarrassed for her.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Uhh, having to watch Meri do her slow, halting talking head spots and group chats is just too much.
Has she been told to slo-speak in her spots in order to fill more time?

And come on, the “March” footage and lead-up to it could have, and should have, taken 15 minutes, tops.
They did a whole hour! Other hour was unloading Caleb and Maddie, the gender reveal and Nancy, plyg therapist strikes again.
Speaking of that, we know that the talking heads and couch chats are scripted and filmed only after the final editing is done on the scenes. Could be months later, hence the different hair lengths and makeup..
Pretty clear that the Meri/Janelle therapy session was thrown in to add filler.
Just let it go, TLC! These women are not compatible and never will be. Yawn!

  18. If he never married any of them legally he wouldn’t have ever been in legal jeopardy. Given he went into Meri’s wedding knowing he would be multiplying wives I wish the young carted him off to prison. I didn’t feel this way until several episodes into season 1.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Why can’t they support both Mariah and the Dargers? I think Kody’s reaction had more to do with his bigotry than anything else.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Anyone notice when they were discussing the number of girls vs boys in the family, and Mary said that eventually there would be equal numbers of girls and boys because they would marry. Then Christine points out that Mariah is gay and therefore won’t marry a man. What was interesting was that they specifically mentioned that perhaps other daughters may be gay, but didn’t mention the sons being gay.

    ReplyDelete
  21. So, what’s up with Robyn this season?
Robyn and her kids are hardly shown/featured this season.
She isn’t constantly interrupting and seems barely interested.
That being said, Robyn was a clear favorite of Mariah’s last season. Telling Robyn everything first and crediting her for being so open minded. Now suddenly it’s her own mom and Janelle that have been the most open- minded/accepting.
Last season, Robyn raced to hug her when she made her big announcement . This season she barely did.

    1. I also noticed that Robyn and her children have been keeping a low, low profile. Actually, we haven't seen much of any of the children. I wonder if something happened, like the children being bullied at school.

    2. I wonder if they read all the complaints about them last year and trying to save the show, they aren't showing them as much.

I have noticed major mood changes in all of them compared to all other seasons. This is the same show, same people but different personalities. It's so odd to me.

      Delete
    3. Still wonder if something also happened between Robyn and Mariah. They seem pretty distant now. Heck, Robyn seems pretty distant from everyone in comparison to previous seasons.

      Delete
    4. Good points, Baylor and Anonymous

In the talking heads after Mariah came out to the parentslast season, Robyn was credited with having gay friends and was thus the most knowledgeable and able to enlighten the parents. So - you'd think that she'd be the first one Mariah invited to the march (or maybe Annie0, or that Robyn already had her own plans to attend in solidarity for all her gay friends we never heard of before or again. Yet, she remained in Las Vegas and may have immediately bowed out. I haven't rewatched this episode, but I vaguely recall a shot of Robyn holding one of her children when traveling to the march was mentioned. The producers built in a justification for just Meri's and Janelle's attending and must be trying to salvage Robyn's (self-)image as the young, cool, progressive wife.

      Delete
    5. MrSpock actually feels for Meri as she tries to salvage her relationship with her daughter but is being forced to do so (in MrSpock's opinion) by pretending to "accept" Mariah's gay-ness, welcoming Mariah's girlfriend, and attending the march in Washington...she and Janelle were clearly fish out of water there. MrSpock does not think any of the Brown "parents" are being sincere or truthful on this subject. The one exception may be Janelle, who has been careful not to endorse Mariah or the march, by mostly not saying anything. Contrast that with Robyn's initial giddiness or Meri's halting "support." MrSpock also thinks the Brown "wives" also doth protest too much their great love for Tony. But, again, MrSpock could be all wrong.

      Delete
    6. Mariah lived next to Robyn for about 3years. Then she went away to school. Why Robyn would be close to any of the older kids would be shocking. Mariah won’t be giving Meri thirty grandchildren in a plural marriage is even more great than taking her legal wife status away.

      Delete
  22. Robyn would never go to Washington anyway as it would displease her legal husband Kody, so she is keeping sweet. Unlike Meri, who's been on the outs with Kody for years? And Janelle who's had a platonic relationship with him for years.

I think the only reason that Kody wanted to do another season was to push their political agenda with polygamy. That march is on the next episode. Kody wants rights... to more welfare checks?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I also agree that Robyn would never go to Washington, even to keep a storyline going. It doesn't matter that they portrayed Robyn as the young, "with it" wife, sensitive to Mariah's coming out, etc. Robyn is all about Robyn and her bio kids come first. At the time of the march, Ari was just turning 1. Robyn announced the other day on twitter that she just weaned her.
I can promise you that Robyn was not going to fly to Washington for the weekend and leave behind her baby she is nursing just so she could spend the day marching with Meri and Mariah. I also don't believe she would take the baby on a plane with her to Washington. Robyn would not make the drive to the bed and breakfast with the other wives because Ari hated car rides. Janelle made a point to comment that the ride to St. George with Robyn and Ari to check out wedding venues was basically the ride from hell - again because of Ari's displeasure traveling.

  23. Anyone watch seeking sister wives? The Briney's are actually real and have real emotion. Now I think they're dysfunctional and are a train wreck.. BUT I give them credit for being more real with their emotions. The Aldridges are so tempered in their emotions and responses, much like the Brown family. It comes across as fake... But I think that since the Briney's didn't start with polygamy in mind, they haven't mastered that watered down, bland personality of so many other tlc polygamists. I could actually watch a show following them.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. The Brineys and Alldreges have Facebook pages and they are pretty straight up in answering most questions. They all know one another. Drew Briney was Kodys attorney when they lived in Vegas and the Brineys are friends with the Alldreges. Starring they had regular family get together and they met Angela at their home. And Mr Alldrege is in the process of divorcing his first wife so she and the kids are not on the show. So Vanessa and Sheris are his 2nd and 3rd wives. So if Angela was hanging out with a plyg family when she met Drew she knew what she was getting into. Basically every plural family TLC has had on is connected except the Black couple in Atlanta. Kody/ Aspen connetected to Vanessa Alldridge and Brady Williams. One thing that stood out to me was when Vanessa told the family their was no baby, the hug Sharis gave her seemed sincere

      Delete
    2. I read on ptv that the third Briney wife (Angela?) has been married 3 times before. Once to an evangelical Christian, once to a mainstream LDS guy, and then she converted to AUB and was a 2nd wife. Then she married Drew as a third wife. I found that pretty interesting. Sounds like she changes religions a lot.

      Delete
  24. Les- First, thanks for the information. You gave lots of details that I was unaware of. What you said about the Aldridges and their current divorce drives home my point about their censorship/fakeness which makes them less compelling. If they'd truly be transparent and even admit that he's in process of divorce, it'd make them more "real". I feel like they're just portraying a molded image, instead of being honest. If they'd open with all that background, I'd find them more enjoyable to watch. Anyway, thank you for all the insight!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Knowing that there was another wife and other children I feel extra gross about them handing out numbered jerseys that effectively erased several siblings. Even if you cannot say her name out of respect for her privacy why notsay " another wife" would it discount their theory polygamy is best? Divorce is one possible outcome of marriage. If they want polygamist marriage on the same footing then they have toaknowledge its the same. Sometimes it just doesn't work out. I feel badly for the erased children.

  26. WOW! We have been missing some little gems in TLC's "behind the scenes!'

I know we are over Mykelti's wedding, but I thought this was worth mentioning. Christine very proudly announced that she didn't just sing one song at the reception. No, she treated the guests with TWO songs. She said the 2nd song was copyrighted so TLC couldn't show her practicing/singing it. (More like TLC wouldn't pay the copyright privileges, but ok Christine, you can explain it any way you want) She might have added that is why we also didn't hear the real music Mykelti walked down the aisle to---but I digress about TLC's low budget productions.

Christine proudly announced that she "nailed" the 2nd song. She went on at length about how great she sang the 2nd song, even bringing Kody to tears. She never once said anything about singing because Mykelti asked her. No, it was all talk about complimenting herself on what a great job she did singing. Who does that on national tv?! I'm beginning to doubt whether the 1st song was even anything sentimental she regularly sang to Mykelti as a child. Probably the song (Let Me Call You Sweetheart) was just convenient in that she could invent a backstory for it and the song was old enough it wasn't copyrighted. Can you imagine how crestfallen Christine would have been if there wasn't all the footage and time devoted to her singing at the wedding?? Definitely Christine wanted her share of attention in this wedding storyline.

We all saw the look on Mykelti's face when Christine started the song. It was not a look of someone who asked their mom to sing because it meant something to them. Christine wanted a platform for attention. Why would you sing two songs like you were the wedding entertainment?! You would sing the sentimental one only. I never bought for one minute that she was doing this for Mykelti (in Christine's varied versions she was either singing because Mykelti asked her or because she needed to publicly demonstrate penance for not accepting Tony) I enjoyed the drama Christine created when she took "the stage"---getting everyone's attention---then a production of clearing her throat--then acting like she was starting---then stopping to ask for water--gulping/sipping water while everyone stared.....this was about Christine, not Mykelti. She did not make it a mom/daughter moment where she even appeared it was sentimental or she was singing it to Mykelti (maybe one glance over towards her?) no, Christine was center stage singing and I would expect no less....

Many people commented on how it looked like there were two different bridal parties. Mykelti and her bridesmaids formal look did not correspond to Tony and his groomsmen. The same can be said for Mykelti's immediate family. Christine's formal floor length gown said "look at me" I'm the mother of the bride. You would expect the other family members to be similarly formal. Wouldn't the whole family get the memo "I am wearing a very formal sequined floor length gown" dress accordingly?? Maybe the Brown women interpreted that to mean dress the opposite of me? If the women were going for wedding casual than Meri nailed it with her Lulupoo outfit.

    1. Big Sky,
Your thoughts on Christine's TV debut as a wedding singer ring truer than any contrived scenario the producers thought would fly.

One clue was the ridiculous amount of footage given to "Christine sings." Between what had to be deliberate editing which would show Tony/Kody Jr. at his worst, gauche and ignorant self, Mykelti as an obnoxious, ungrateful bridzilla and then Christine as the selfless mother of the bride willing to traumatize herself as she sings a special song to her ingrate daughter, it all just reeked of produced nonsense.
When the groom is shown dressed more like a wedding crasher, less appropriately dressed than even his groomsmen who weren't much better, all filmed along side the bridesmaids all in typical wedding attire, you know someone is just playing with the viewers.

Throw in Christine as the reluctant stage singer in silver formal gown while her sistervives were so obviously dressed down.
And yes indeed, in Meri's case she just looked so damn silly.
I'm surprised that LLR doesn't have dressy leggings with splashed with wedding cakes.

Once again, it all just amplified how desperate the show is to air anything that will stir up viewer chatter.

    2. "dressy leggings splashed with wedding cakes" Oh, Amused!! I just love that image. Since Meri started selling LLR and we have been talking about it on our blog, I have been paying more attention to spotting it in public. I have seen some really crazy patterns. I read an article online about women being really obsessed with finding certain obscure patterns which they refer to as "unicorns."

  27. Anyone see that TLC has "One Man Three Wives" coming out in March? Along with the Seeking Sister Wife, makes me wonder if they're preparing to replace the Sister Wives?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I don't read anything into TLC trotting out these other polygamy shows. It is actually a testament to the show Sister Wives that TLC thinks they are onto something! Just like the millions of little people shows they came out with after the success of "The Little Couple." How many different variations of shows did they produce with little people--I can name 4 off the top of my head ("Little People, Big World," "Our Little Family," "The Little Couple," "7 Little Johnstons") it's just nuts how TLC takes an idea and runs it into the ground. I think they did the same thing with shows about gypsies.

Anyway, my point is that while we might see this move on TLC's part to introduce more shows on polygamy in order to replace Sister Wives-- it really is just more of their ridiculous programming attempts. They are not the brightest bulb of networks.....maybe they think the more shows they create on this subject matter, the more fascinated the audience becomes with the topic? I have yet to figure out TLC's strategy (if there is one!)

Sometimes I think literally no one is in charge at that network. With regards to their marketing/publicity it is nonexistent. They knew they were putting Sister Wives on for another season, but yet no attempt was made to advertise and put the word out. I think the first commercial for this new season came out just a few weeks before the premiere. They didn't keep the official FB page up or keep interest in the show by continuing the blogs written by Janelle on TLC's site.

    2. Big Sky,
      Another good point.
You’re so right about TLC glutting their lineup with every variation of “Little People” groups possible. Even taking the concept to rival the “Housewives” franchise with “Little Women of LA, Atlanta and NY.
So we shouldn’t be surprised about the same pattern for Pyg shows. However, your other point is valid about TLC just putting on shows that will bring in revenue from sponsors.
Be damned with quality or relevance.....or credibility.

Kind of like what LLR discovered with freaky leggings. If one patttern sold well, why not keep the fashion circus going!?

  28. The difference in dress between Christine's formal gown and the other sister wives never dawned before reading the comments above. How were the wives dressed for Maddie's wedding?

The Caleb and his "bros-men", while clean were not as formal as Maddie and her attendants.

  29. I am not sure which wife (I think it was Janelle)who said that not all polygamists were the same. She then went on to list ways they were different. When she added abuse of the welfare system I almost choked. Has it not been verified that all of Kody's wives have been on welfare as "single moms." Since Meri was married to Kody she might not have gotten those benefits. However that leaves two wives and 12 children who allegedly defrauded the welfare system if they were in fact "Kody's wives." He should have been required to support his own families. That is one of the main problems with polygamy. That is how Short Creek was taken down. The welfare fraud was rampant.

  30. Did Meri shave her eyebrows so she could could draw them skinny above where they belong? They are very distracting. All you see is eyebrows when she is talking. My goodness those Brown wives and daughters really have a thing for eyebrows.
