    1. Welcome back CJ!! I'm so glad to see you posting again!
I went ahead and started a blog in case you weren't able to tonight, and if it's okay, I'd love to share the link for the "catch up" post in case anyone wanted to see some of their social media from the last couple of months . . . but otherwise, I'll deactivate the blog, because who needs a knock off, when we can enjoy the real thing here! ;) <3

    3. For some reason I can see Meri telling Kody and his legal wife to stuff their request for a comped stay where the sun don't shine! Of course that would be off camera 'cuz she needs to keep up the pretense that all is hunky dory in the #coldesac.

  6. SO nice to see you back, CJ !!!
    Absolutely...let's do what we do best....SNARKING !!!
And do the snark that has seriously and legitimately contributed to Kody and Kodettes even staying on the air !!!

  7. Adding....
Kody looks like a derelict trolling the back streets of Vegas!
With four wives to critique his appearance, has not one of them (or any of his older daughters) had the sense to tell him to "clean up"....????
Is he really still stuck in his now 8 year old, completely passe', over and done surfer dude look??? Wow, he is now an aging fossil from a decade ago.

  8. Hi, All. Good to see Meri has a business venture with the B&B...sure beats just sitting around. Will be surprised, however, if Kody and Meri ever get back together beyond casual communication. Thanks for returning, CJ!

    ReplyDelete
  9. I think Meri's B&B is her out. I think she will be back in Utah once the show is over. That's where her entire family, including Mariah, is. I see it now.

This episode is not doing Tony any favors.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Either Robyn is pregnant again, or she has been hitting seconds and thirds on the desserts. How many kids will she have to have before she can retire that bus route?

    ReplyDelete
  11. OMG.......NOTHING has changed, evolved.......nothing !!

Just caught the bit where Meri tells Sobbin and Mariah about her B&B farce.
Back in full bloom is Meri talking in that halting, ridiculous voice......clenching her jaw every 4th word a like a 6 yr old. Then there’s Sobbin with her solemn, forever furrowed brow and downcast eyes doling out her pearls of wisdom.
How could their 1st ep of the season be SO boring.....
    so predictable.....so mind-numbing .......ALREADY!??

    1. (Changing to my Pollyanna voice) Golly gee, I'm just know the next episode will be soooo much more fun!

(Changing back to my cynical voice) Sounds like this show has seen better days...like that episode when all that Brown stuff spewed out of the RV hose directly onto Kody's shoes. That's what SW needs, more spewing Brown stuff! Bwahahahahaha!!!

    2. Agreed, while suffering through it I kept thinking, no kidding, "Please let Jinx be back. Please let Jinx be back." Because the show is still just painful to watch. Last season I skipped the actual episodes and just came here for recaps and to shake my head with the rest of you.

    3. I'm beyond thrilled that CJ's living room is open and to read all the comments. I missed everyone!

During this scene, I looked up at my TV and wondered who sounded dumber and who actually is dumber - Robyn or Meri. Hearing Meri's speech pattern and Robyn's coaching her for the big family discussion was painful. This show really kills brain cells.

  12. Robin’s real concern is “how often will you not be here to help ME out?? How can you work in another town?”

    1. He did twitch a bit at the announcement.

    2. Agreed. It made the show for me! The look on his face - priceless. Remembering back to what a huge deal he made out of officiating Madison's wedding....the "knighting" of her husband at the altar....unable to help in any wedding preparations because he was furiously overworking his brain to come up with the babble he would spew....operating as the center of attention during the ceremony and missing the point that the wedding was about the couple not him---no, I don't think he is going to get over this quickly. I think he mentally just reduced the guest list by 100!!

      Delete
    3. So on the money, Big Sky!

Mykelti has been described as being very similar in personality to Kody (by Christine). Takes one to know one, to usurp one, etc. Well done, Mykelti!

  14. Welcome back CJ! We have missed you but you deserved your time off.

I wonder how much Meri is charging by the hour oops per night for her B&B. Anything to get away from Koduash and his dreadlocks I guess.

Speaking of Meri, and why don't we? I'm not sure if I've seen anything about the LulaRoe lawsuits mentioned anywhere.

Not that bad. I'm actually really surprised she didn't overestimate the pull of her "celebrity" and charge more.

  15. Judging from the preview clips for this season......Maddie did indeed sell her labor and probably delivery too for the TLC dollars. Was so hoping she would resist that. I guess that Brown grab -the- bucks gene just cannot be ignored. Too bad!
Does TLC really think that another TV Kodyworld birth.....one filmed wayyyy last year.....is a ratings winner?
Mariah too has apparently joined the Brown gravy train with her girlfriend. Ca—Ching $$$$
    Whose next? Logan?
Only real laugh was when Sobbin must now be the Idiot’s mommy telling him that his wrinkled too tight shirt is showing his belly on camera. THAT was pathetic but deserved a snort !

    1. Logan and his gf said on social media their wedding won’t be on TV. Guess the gravy train ran out of steam!

    2. Well, I think of Maddie's sellout like this: She had to finance her onboarding with LLR somehow, right?

      Delete
    3. Hmm......good point! ( btw......Is LLR still a hot trend?)
But still a shame to sell what should be an intimate life experience.

    4. I am so very impressed with Logan and Michelle for their intention to NOT film their wedding for the show.

      A classy gentleman, indeed!

      Delete
    5. Logan always was clear headed and ten years more mature than his dad. I think he takes after mom more. As oldest he also realizes his siblings need things too. His college was probably more a sure thing than what will he left when it’s truely’s turn. He finished school and honestly adults who are in the work force after school tend to have their own wedding, pay for it and hopefully the gifts and being frugal means no debt at the end of it.

  16. These two are ridiculous with their wedding wants. And please, I’m Catholic and have been to many weddings. Have never rolled up to any wedding reception with a six pack in hand. This isn’t a backyard barbecue.

  17. Hoo boy. Another hobby business.

And don't even get me started about the 400 person country club taco-feed with flaming ballons and full sized pinata beatings.

All because "consultants" say a B&B in the middle of nowhere is a good idea and what's her name "seems" like a good wedding planner.

The years go by and the breathtaking foolishness never disappoints. And what's left of Kody's hair never changes.

Told my husband I didn't think I could do this anymore without CJ and the snarkers. And here you all are! Thanks!

  18. I didn't catch the show unfortunately, but I did see the new article with lots of good photos of Meri's B&B. Huge renovation, decorated country/shabby chic style with family keepsakes of Meri's. I see this as a positive move forward for her and plans for the future beyond the show. Good for her, she is the only one getting it together.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I read the article and while other readers also commented about this "renovation" Meri performed on the house---she actually used the word "redecorated." All the archived pictures of the Inn under the former owner look almost identical to the pictures Meri has posted on her new website for the Inn. Except for changing around some furniture, nothing has been renovated. Carpets, wallpaper, etc. all the same. Same kitchen and same bathrooms. Meri is even using some of the bedding and decor items from the previous owners. It does not appear she spent any money on renovating. Probably didn't line up with Kody's business plan!!

For anyone curious; I found the deed for the sale of the house on the Iron County Utah Assessor's online site. Meri purchased the house on 10/16/17. She paid 346,500.00 and took out a 30 year mortgage. The most interesting detail - the deed is in Meri's name ONLY. No family trust, etc. I don't really buy the whole "must get permission" from the family. Even that whole storyline with Annie running it for her (getting Christine on board because her mom would be part of it) turned out to be another fake storyline. Meri has recently stated that her own mother has sold her home in Lehi and will be the one running it. As usual, the plot thickens!!

      Delete
    2. "As usual, the plot thickens!!"

      Yep, Big Sky....as usual....!!

Or there has always been 2 pots....one for the cameras and sycophants, and one simmering with their usual, sad, messed up world.

And good to see Janelle has not changed her couch chat MO of twiddling her fingers and looking clueless. Wonder if the producers realize that by always putting Janelle in that outer spot, she is positioned to be looking directly at Meri seated on the other corner. Is that the plan?
No wonder Janelle stares more at her shoes than anywhere else.

      Delete
    3. I read the description and it says they have antique 4 poster beds. I see one bed, with short posts that could maybe qualify but even then I think people think of tall posts when you say that.

      Delete
    4. How in the world does Meri qualify for a 2nd home loan? She must make pretty good money somewhere.

      Delete
    5. The B and B would be a business. So income might be considered. I’m glad she could buy it and didn’t need permission She should be the legal wife, David should still be the kids father without Kody being step dad. I hate that they did that. The should have been in Keri with Robyn in the bonus room in the basement converting into a three bedroom with tiny kitchen. Or Meri could be in the bonus basement space and Robyn take her unit with wood burning stove. They were real and likeable. Obviously the family doesn’t fear Utah anymore.

      Delete
  19. ok. How many clues does this family need??? Merri wants out!!! She doesn’t feel loved or needed in the compound anymore! Robyn is still clueless and selfish. She makes everything about her and still can’t get it through her thick skull that Meri pulled away when Janelle was pregnant because *gasp* she was jealous you were having a baby with her husband!! Also, this Tony character is quite the famewhore! Kody has some serious competition. Do you see how all the women swoon and laugh at everything he says? I will not be surprised if he changes his mind and decides he wants more attention/wives in a few years.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes, yes, yes, it will be no surprise.

      Delete
    2. He ABSOLUTELY will decide to become a polygamist. He is too much like Kody. And his "refusals" to Mykelti that he is, indeed, not interested have always seemed very suspect to me. He frequently looks down or off to the side when he says he doesn't want to be in polygamy. Since day one I have been suspicious of that guy. I feel bad for Mykelti.

      Delete
    3. If Tony has dreams of being a harem master he had better realize that the one thing, and arguably the ONLY thing, Kody had going for him when he was Tony’s age as he convinced his first wife, Meri, to allow him to have another bedmate was passable looks and what must have been reasonable charm. Tony has neither.

    1. I agree. I am still shaking my head about this this morning. If I were Kody and Christine (God forbid) I would've set some limits right then and there as a "precedent" for all future Brown daughters. We give you "X" amount to put towards your wedding. That's it, that's all you get and the rest is on you to pay for and plan! That would have set those entitled kids straight!

      Delete
  21. CJ, are you going to also open up your living room for the new TLC show "Seeking Sister Wife"? I know in the past we've covered other polygamy shows with you and I would love to have your living room open for this new show as well!

  22. The 400 to five hundred people they kept repeating was like constantly hearing about the "homes". I saw pictures of the wedding online and it looked like no more than 100 to 150 were present. In there quest to sound like a big deal with 4000 tacos and 500 hundred people they came off as idiots, which they probably are

    1. I'm thinking Mykelti may be smarting over Maddie's wedding. Yep. Sibling rivalry being played out on a reality show for ratings. And yes, I think Mykelti is jealous of her sister from a different mother.

      Delete
  23. I'm watching the episode from last night now. I don't know why I keep watching this show... it's like a train wreck. This episode is really boring. Mykelti has a lot of self-confidence but no charisma when she's talking to the camera (although she is more sparkly when she's laughing with her moms and sisters). Ten tacos per person?? No wonder they are all so doughy. Cody puts on a show of being annoyed at their 400 guest list but doesn't actually put his foot down with a budget. Christine is back to her trick of shouting in the talking heads when Cody isn't listening to her. Really not cute. Argh, I need to stop wasting my time on these people.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Wonder if Meri borrowed money from the others to make the purchase? There might be some sort of contractual financial arrangement among the Browns, albeit with only Meri on the deed.

MrSpock found the whole Mykelti/Tony wedding demands thing off-putting. Agree with whomever suggested that Kody and "wives" draw some lines in the sand re. amount to be spent per child on wedding extravaganzas. But, again, it was Kody's idea to have 18 children...now he is paying the piper...and the wedding coordinators, and the florists, and the pinata makers, etc. etc.

Cannot see Kody and Meri being a true couple again. But, not seeing any "spark" between Kody/Janelle, Kody/Christine, Kody/Robyn either. However, who knows what goes on behind closed doors.

Would love to be a fly on the wall to know what Tony's family really thinks about the Browns and the lasagna dinner.

Christine---please take it down a notch! Yikes, so loud!!! Finally had to turn down the TV volume when she kept practically screaming during the dinner preparations and the dinner. It must drive her family cuckoo.

  26. according to the website for thr b and b, meri is running it with her mother, not christines. why did they drag christines mother into this??? for a story?? meri's mom is in the ribbon cutting pictures, not christines hiw "weird"

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. @ Milo & Mr. Spock; I firmly believe that Meri's mom conveniently "selling her home in Lehi to come run the Inn" (according to a quote from Meri in the Salt Lake Tribune about the B & B) is more than just a coincidence with regards to the purchase/financing of this home. I would make a bet that Meri's mom who is suddenly running it instead of Annie is also behind the financing of it. I firmly believe that is why only Meri's family (and Kody) showed up at the ribbon cutting ceremony and why her mom was so prominently there at the ceremony.

      Delete
    2. Hey Big Sky, you beat me to it! I totally agree with you. Remember, when Meri's mother sold her home, sister Rebekah was displaced (once again) and now temporarily lives in a cave home at the Rock in Moab. I have a feeling that Rebekah will be living at the Inn during the off season. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Meri's mother financed part of this venture. Of course this is all conjecture on my part, but it makes sense!

      Delete
    3. I read the SLT article about the B&B as well and was surprised to see Annie on the show because I thought it was Meri's mom who was involved.
The usual baloney, bull, balderdash and blah blah blah...But my off topic query to you all is about Annnie's cute but not "modest" sleeveless dress.
She quit the AUB (I think) But did she quit the Mormon thing altogether?
Also, do AUBs NOT wear sacred undies?
I mean that was Kody's actual gut bursting through his shirt, right?
      I need answers:)

      Delete
  27. Is the B&B Meri’s ticket out of the compound and harem?
Ultimately her new home? Especially if her mother is a silent co-owner and resident?

Will the spin/Brown BS be that Meri needs to spend more and more time there .....with “will she or won’t she leave to live there” as this seasons’ ending cliffhanger?

Meanwhile, her house in Kodyworld could become a residence for any 2nd generation Browns who want to continue being part of the TLC stable of reality stars.
For that matter, Meri and her mom and aunt could get a spin-off. With the Browns, the possibilities to turn a buck are endless.

    1. To be truthful, I'd rather watch a "reality" show about Meri and her Lizzie's Inn adventures than another minute of Kody and his current legal Mrs, Robyn. Rest assured, when it's time for Robyn's daughters to get married, Kody will NOT complain about costs. Robyn won't allow him!!!

      Delete
    2. Ha! You are so right! Sobbin will make sure of that !

  28. I couldn't wrap my head around no one saying no to this ridiculous "invite 500 people and assume 400 will come." thing. yea I am sure lots of peopel skip the televised wedding. Then every time Tony and Mykelti were on screen with their oblivious "This won't cost much! We're going to SAVE money with this wedding." Even if you make things by hand you still have to buy the stuff to do it and 400 of anything is not cheap. 400 wedding favors anyone? They just became less and less likable with every entitled remark said with blank faces that didn't seem to register what they were asking. Yea I was annoyed with Kody and the Kodettes last season when they all made bad faces regarding another one of their children daring to get married so close to the first wedding but I wasn't aware this one had no concept of money. I know the kids have been very off limits but if you are an adult selling out your bad choices you become fair game.

Seeing Christine try to convince herself she likes Tony was pretty great. "I love that boy!" *eye twitch*

Then they were going to save money with the domestic violence pinatas. Adorable. My husband was like "Thats like 20 lbs of candy that could kill someone flying around." I had to explain to him that life size pinatas of 2 adults is going to be way more than 20 lbs of candy.

The only part about the episode I DID like was Meri having a different place to go. If Kody isn't interested in having a real partnership with her then let her go dude! Every time he spat out the word "nostalgia" I remembered more and more why I didn't like him.

I am pretty sad Madi was convinced to sell her birth to TLC in previews for the rest of the season.

Also my husband went on and on about how think Christine is now and asked multiple times if she got plastic surgery. "Look they set her next to Robyn because they're both so skinny and now she is thinner than Robyn." I didn't even notice haha.

    1. I often wonder if Robyn regrets all those smug earlier comments she made years ago when she first came on the show. The comments about how Kody really prefers "big women" and she would never fit his type (aka the other blonde, heavy wives) because she was so much taller and thinner. Robyn of the long legs. She also said that she couldn't gain weight if she tried as her metabolism wouldn't allow it.

      Delete
  29. I'm guessing this show is not doing so well this season, given that there are only 55 comments by now on this page and in previous seasons it was already 200+ comments. People just don't care and have moved on!

  30. I am so happy to see you back CJ!

Where do I begin?! I guess the obvious… I cannot stand Tony. His family seems so nice, where the heck did they go wrong? Every word that comes out of his mouth makes me scowl with anger. For a moment I actually felt bad for Kody that he has to now be related to this a**hole. Then I got my wits about me and realized that he deserves it LOL Mykelti is just as bad. She is such an idiot for thinking 400 people would actually show up to her wedding. In the aerial preview of their wedding you can see that not even half that we’re probably in attendance. When they asked the pawnshop guy if he would officiate their wedding I totally got the vibe that he didn’t really want to do it but he’s too nice of a guy to say no. I don’t really think he supports their union because to anyone with half a brain cell you can clearly see these two are definitely not ready for marriage. Tony lacks character and Mykelti is so childish. They both have a lot of growth that needs to happen. I did love Christine’s comparison/jab at Kody of how Tony and Kody are similar with planning events. I think Kody needs the wake up call (FINALLY) for how obnoxious it is when someone dominates conversation with stupid commentary the way he notoriously does. Maybe a little self reflection will happen now on the part of Kody. Ha! Who am I kidding?

Moving on, I I am all for the B&B that Meri wants to start. She’s not the type to work hard so the fact that Christine‘s mom is willing to help is perfect. It gives Meri just enough excuse to escape without the responsibility of day-to-day business ownership. Plus I think it really will give her purpose. I kind of feel happy for her. I support anything that gets any of these women far far far away from Kody as possible. As always though it will end up costing the family money that they don’t have.

Can we talk about the fact that Mykelti’s wedding was in December 2016?! And this episode is just now being aired literally over a year later. I guess that’s how boring this family is, as it took them a whole year to find enough material to actually put out to the public.

As for Logan‘s wedding not being filmed for television, I totally support that they are not being fame whores. At the same time he’s one of the few family members I don’t despise seeing on TV so that’s a double edge sword.

Kodys hair is worse than ever. It looks worse than a dirty wet mop.

One last thing: Robyn mentioned that her baby doesn’t like being in the car seat. I can actually relate to this. My little one didn’t like being in the car seat until she was able to face forward. So I could actually relate to her a little bit and feel her pain.

Yes, why indeed...unless to simply add faux drama to the opening episode to entice the online chatter and beef up the ratings, like they do and have done with most every story line.

    2. I have a feeling Christine's mother Annie is there "just for the show." The whole "reality" show vibe reminds me so much of Tori and Dean's first reality show about "running" a B&B in California. It was all fake of course, except with Meri, she did buy the Inn. So we will most likely see a scene or 2 of "guests" (straight from Central Casting) descending on the Inn and being filmed. But mark my words, as soon as filming is over, Annie goes back to Vegas and a relative of Meri's takes over as caretaker. JMHO of course!

    3. Meh benefit of the doubt in that sometimes you plan something early on one way and things change. It's possible when Meri's mother found out she threw a fit that this "in the family" house that her mom (assuming here) grew up in was offered to Christine's mom first. I don't know if Meri's mom is like that but jealousy seems like a major theme in these families so I could see this being the reason Annie eventually gets the boot.

They talk about sharing things. Like how Tony gets 4 mother in laws...but I think they all know it's Christine who got stuck with the "Gimme gimme" dud. This is like that in reverse. Perks go to the bio first.

  32. or..because Christines mom would get and story line and camera time and therefore a paycheck. Meri's mom looked like she had lost a lot of weight and didnt look well in the opening of the b and b pictures.

  33. At the risk of sounding like a total perv, Mykelti and Tony strike me as the poster children for premarital sex (not for me; for them). They're rushing into married life because they're having a chaste courtship. Kody said as much last season, when Mykelti and Tony first broached the subject with the parents. The kids would be better off living together or just being "friends with benefits" and getting to know each other in every way before committing themselves to marriage. Young love starts quickly and burns hot, but doesn't always endure. Getting out of a young marriage is just as uncomfortable, inconvenient, and expensive as any other kind of divorce, and if the couple has children, that's a layer of complexity that I'm not sure the future Mr. and Mrs. Padron can handle with any kind of maturity. "Common sense" isn't common for those younglings any more than it's common for Kody and the wives.

Tony's family seem like lovely people; clearly, they love their son and want him to be happy. Life-sized bride and groom pinatas? According to my Chicano spouse, "No bueno. Pinatas are for children. Children should not be getting married. If they want pinatas, they're not ready for the altar". Similarly, I asked him if it really is common for guests to BYOB to a Mexican wedding reception. His reply, "only if they want to get the caca slapped out of them by the Tias (aunties). If my brothers or I had ever done anything like that, my Mamita (grandmother) would still be kicking our a$$es, and she died 30 years ago"!

I'm glad that Meri has the B & B, although I really don't see her as willing to do the hard work it takes to make that type of business successful. Additionally, though the mayor of Parowan says there's a need for guest accommodations in the town, I honestly can't see outdoorspeople wanting to drive two hours each way between the recreational facilities and their lodging. Still, if she can use this as her means of escape from the rest of the family, I say more power to her. Since she is legally single, none of the other Brown adults has a right to share in the profits or honor the losses that business might experience. Having only her name on the deed is a sound strategy for all concerned. Even if the family did help her finance the purchase out of intermingled family funds, all the revenues and profit are hers, unless she's signed a promissory note or some other kind of document that requires her to pay back whatever she received from the family. In theory, Meri and Mom could close the B & B at any time, get "real 9 to 5 jobs", live in that house, and tell Kody and the rest of the brood to go pound sand. There would be room enough for family and friends to visit, and Meri would be out from under the Brown thumb.

Wassup with Kody's hair? I remember my mother saying to me as a child of eight or nine, "if you want to wear your hair long, you had better keep it neat. If you can't, you'll have to get it cut". Doesn't he own a bottle of shampoo and a hairbrush? It looks as if he's got a bird's nest on his head. #badweave!

Note to Robyn: I know Kody sees you as the wife with all of the emotional intelligence, and that being the only legal wife gives you a certain bona fides. But could you please STOP telling the other wives how to talk to Kody? Meri, Janelle, Christine, and 13 of the children have known Kody far longer than you have. If you could really "read" Kody, you would have cut and run when he started talking about marriage. Your unsolicited advice doesn't make you appear wise or helpful--it makes you look like a b!tch.

The comments by your Chicano spouse are funny and insightful!

Didn't Madison have an open bar at her reception? Why no booze at this one?

    2. @Back in Black, Tony said that because he converted from catholicism to mormon (I think he said when he was 17?) he doesn't drink and he wants to respect his religion and have a "dry" reception. However, his entire family are still practicing Catholics and he claimed he is fearful they will bring their own "six-packs" to the wedding. He actually said that was a thing in his family. To bring your own six packs to parties. He is too immature to know the difference between a party and a wedding reception.

Back in Black, because you have made the wise decision to not watch, you missed this little gem. Let me treat you to one of the stupidest things Tony said in the episode. They were touring venues for the wedding and while checking out the size of the women's bathroom to see if several people could fit into it at once---several of the Browns crammed into the ladies restroom, including Tony---and he loudly asked if anyone "needed a tampon." Really. He did. That kid is the worst.

Thanks for that little gem; that's worse than Kody saying "panties"!

I started off last season not watching, but then peeked in on a couple of episodes 'on Demand' when the season ended.
I was there at the very beginning (like many of you), and over time the weird power dynamic became too much of a turn-off.

  34. So, who will live at Meri's house? Not Meri. Good thing she argued for that wet bar.
Also, who needs Kodi's expertise when it concerns business decisions? He has to okay a business plan? Has he EVER been successful at anything?
I assume the majority of the wedding was comped. And photos sold etc. No way they were able to pay for everything. 400 people at a country club venue is a ridiculous number for this young couple. I'm sure the parents go along with this nonsense because they are not paying AND they need a story-line. It's so stupid and I can't stop watching these people :)

    3. Ridiculous is leaving Lehi and buying fire 400K 4,000 square foot homes and no typical job among the four of them. Why would a wedding be different. Especially when sister by another mother just had one had quite frankly all the Brown kids are way older than the parents when they started getting hitched and this should have been planned for years how to go about paying for it. You sit down with the kids before going anywhere and say what you are giving. They were like this with college. No clear plan. No I’ll pay 5K a year per kid, loan the rest. Or I will pay community college for two years and you pay the rest. No I’ll pay state school amount and if you go private you get a loan or grant or scholarship for the difference. This isn’t the first to marry. They are not marrying polygamists. This is not the first wedding.

When we go out for Mexican, we have two each. I wonder how many were left over after the wedding. Issue number two - and I am not trying to be prejudiced towards homeless people - but Kody's hairstyle looks so frizzy and unkempt that he looks homeless. His tummy sticking out of the shirt in the scene where Meri presented her B&B idea was pretty gross also. For example, he said that his culture will bring lots of uninvited guests (family, friends etc) to their wedding. Well that's fine if you're marrying someone who shares thag same "culture" to come uninvited to a wedding... however, he's NOT marrying into the same culture and should be courteous also to the Brown's expectations. He's just pushing his agenda without regard for the impact it has on anyone else (financial, etiquette etc). I just find it sloop incredibly rude and ignorant for him to be solely focused on his culyure/wants etc while disregarding his fiance and her family. 57. Love the snark! I missed this blog. Anyways I watched Seeking Sister Wife and Auralee, honey, that is NOT a lisp it is a speech impediment. She is annoying and seems to be conniving but has mastered manipulating that husband into feeling sorry for her.

    1. Oh yea a lisp doesn't mean you cannot pronounce your R's. I don't know why she is eager to embrace one impediment but deny the one she actually has.

Not only does wife 1 not like her but wife 3 seemed fed up too when she was describing one as exciting and like a butterfly and the other was *bad face* analytical. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing but you could tell she was not into it.

I think they should have given the master to the oldest of the children so none of the wives had to get into it about it. And are the rest of the children sharing those 4 bedrooms? Why not put up some walls in the giant playroom? or even just set it up barrack bunk bed style in there? Also they aren't seeking. They already found and made a baby with their new wife.

Why do I know that name Aldridge from the family dating that girl on facetime? Aren't they one of the big plyg names? What do you think her big deal secret is? I think she either has kids already, or is infertile.

The non religious family is quite interesting. I always assumed if there wasn't religion you would have to, as Meri put it "go weird". That if you didn't have these constraints from religion that it would really only work with everyone canoodling each other. I'm curious to see how that goes.

The couple with 2 wives seems to have a relatively good dynamic. Not sure about the mystery lady. We will see.

Hmm..looks like TLC decided to reverse the Kody Kult's arrangement of when they switched out their habatrail place in Lehi, Utah for separate McMansions in Vegas....

So instead, they are showcasing these Seeking SW plygs moving into their new communal digs, thinking that ploy will draw viewers to want to watch these new plygs.

TLC, you may have overshot your vision!
Remember Brady and his bunch of Five?? Epic fail !!

And why would any seasoned veteran of 8 snark-filled years of SW want to watch yet THREE more families of frustrated, unfulfilled women choosing to live such dysfunction ??
And just like the babes of Kodyworld, are they also that willing to allow a camera to show the world their miserable existence?
And...are they willing to do that to their KIDS??
Just like the Browns ladies did and are still doing to their kids??

      Final Question is...
Like the Brown Clan, are these three new plyg families that greedy to be willing to shill for grifty reality show $$$$ !!??

  58. Dear Meri,

Thank you for contradicting everything your family and other public polygamous families have tried to convince us of since you let the cameras into your homes. Your recent behavior has proven that polygamy doesn't necessarily allow children to call upon multiple mothers, and that sharing a husband just makes one woman (you) more self-serving.

Janelle, Christine, and Robyn do seem to have your best interests at heart. They want you to have something to do that will bring you happiness. They recognize that, with Mariah's leaving the family fold to build her own life, you might feel lonely and wonder what the future holds. Your statement that, "it takes two--they don't come over to my house and hang out or invite me over to just hang out", and "I'm not going to go to their houses and help out with their kids" seems to be counter to everything plural marriage is supposed to be. Have you forgotten that Christine educated Mariah and cared for her while you were at work? Did you forget that Janelle's full-time "real job" provided financial security so that you could work part-time or quit jobs whenever you felt like it to travel with Kody? Your sister wives enabled your flesh-and-blood daughter to experience life as one of many children, and you've said that if anything happened to you, the other mothers would raise Mariah "as you would want her to be raised".

They say you've been disengaged with the family. You come to family events late and leave early, spending the entire time you're there on your phone. Seriously, is that the behavior of a "good mother"? You seem to want all the benefits possible with this lifestyle, but you don't want to take on the duties for your sister wives that they've undertaken for you. You want them to support your purchase of the B & B financially and and otherwise, but you don't want to do the same for them.

And let's be real here: the only reason you're still in the family is that you found out that your catfish is a woman. There's no doubt in my mind that, had she turned out to be a he, you would have been gone in a flash. Now that you've shifted focus again, you expect Kody and Mariah to come running back to you--you want an "intimate" relationship with Kody, you want Mariah to "get over" her anger and discontent, you want your daughter to understand your difficulty in accepting her sexual identity. But you don't want to provide those same supports for your family.

So, thank you for pulling off my blindfold. You've done more to further the anti-polygamy agenda than you can ever imagine. If your lifestyle has indeed made you better, I hate to think what kind of selfish person you were before the first sister wife came along. No wonder Janelle is afraid of you.

    Sincerely, got2bdrc

    1. Nailed it, got2bdrv!
I still say the only reason why she didn't run off with the catfish was because they are both butch. I've always maintained that both her and Kody had same sex attraction and found each other in a homophobic cult.
She is by far the most self loathing one on the show, I think she is closeted because of this horribly predudice religion. I feel she was never allowed to even entertain the thoughts of any other lifestyle. She is the most depressed, most judgemental and raised the only child I do not care for.
I say let her live in her she-shed in Utah and bring on number 5 to live in her McMansion and shake Robyn to her core. That I would love to watch.

Completely since she left for college. This is what happens when polygamist women don’t have Little’s and there are other sister wives with Little’s or young enough to produce more.

These people are soooo easy to mock, since all their recipes are mock, story lines are fake and any sense of history doesn't exist. I mean any photo can be recreated and drawn with someone inserted into it to change history. I proudly display a large portrait of my children and I with Brad Pit sketched in, my first husband.

  59. Is anyone else having difficulty with just how insanely unproductive it is to continue to allot any more time to watching this farce?

    After this week’s epp......
We realizie that Mykelti has been married to Kody Jr. for over a year.
Maddie’ s baby probably will be walking soon if not already.
Mariah is all signed in to the family TV money stream happily accompanied by her partner, and who knows for how long they have been together.....a year??
Meri’s B&B, aka her ticket out of the harem, is already bought, redecorated, staffed and open for business.

Yet we are supposed to be glued to these inane scenes of cake tasting, dress shopping, just pitifully lame bridal shower hi-jinks, Kody-hogging talking heads, and Mariah’s attempts to be even more a spoiled bitch. All about events over A YEAR OLD!!!!!

And all sprinkled heavily with Christine in manic mode, Janelle just “there” as usual, Sobbin playing family therapist....again, Meri doing her “geez-I have to tell the family something and I’m skeered”....again,
How is THIS worth any of our time.......again??

  60. If season one were half as long as it was I might be okay with the decriminalization if polygamy of people over 18. Now I would like them all thrown into prison for marriage fraud with the fake divorces and marriages that never were intended to be exclusive until the death of the other partner. They all shoudl be single legally speaking. When you come to a marriage to commit visa fraud you get deported and go to prison. Why not for this? It’s fruad for an illegal benefit.

This blog and previous SWB sniffed out every single one of these lies, as they happened.
I myself knew of the lots/culdesac where they were trying to build the McMansion and confirmed address and if they were seriously touring the model home. (At that time I was in Real Estate and went to Vegas often)
We here always knew the timelines were fudged. We discovered all the fraud and bankruptcies and these topics have been discussed here thousands of times.
Yep, it is highly likely it is fake and staged, duh!

She's allegedly been pursuing healthy eating for years now. All the time talking about these intense workouts she does. B.S.! She's a morbidly obese overeater who has to live part part part time with a husband who cannot possibly fulfill any emotional needs. And god only knows the financial stressors. I don't blame her for being fat! Janelle, wake up and leave! .....avocado toast and roasted garbanzo beans, my A$$!!! We all saw that butt when you bent over. I'm a fat woman who is not buying a membership for the "Strive with Janelle" program....im not funding her sneaky midnight runs to McDonalds.

I wish they would drop the weight storyline, but then again Janelle would have NO storyline at all.

I personally think it is a lovely piece, but how can a family of 5 mortgages, 18 tutitions and 18 weddings to pay for afford such things? Also, did anyone notice she seems to have upgraded her watch to match kody's....couldn't tell if it was a rolly.

    1. I like these joooowelry details!! I always enjoy when people notice their extravagances, especially the jewelry because if you pretend to design and sell it - wouldn't you want to wear your own on your television show to help sell it?!

That is, if you had any business sense!! Like when they strategically leave sitting out on counters that green goo water stuff they sell. Or when every outfit Meri wears on tv is now her Lula Roe.

Can we also talk about the other extravagance I noticed?! Did anyone else see them pull up (can't remember what scene) in a Lexus SUV? Thinking maybe the favorite wife got to trade her beater in for something grander?

      Delete
    2. I did see that Lexus and then wondered if it was a rental? Anyway, it would be interesting to know if it does belong to them - who?? Meri just looks frumpy in that Lula Roe - I though anyway - not my style.

  65. Do the producers even care anymore? In her first talking head, Christine says that Mindy is going to Mykelti's bridal shop trip, but she is never on camera or mentioned anywhere. I wished they handled Tony as well, because he is so gross.

Tony is the one driving Christine's minivan to the shop, even though Christine is so against his participation. And, it's never explained why they're shopping for wedding dresses in Las Vegas when Mykelti lives in and is getting married in Utah, where, in this same episode, they shop for reception locations.

Also, the sister wives have so many visions and opinions about traditional weddings, when 4 months earlier, they attended and planned their first ever - Madison's.

“We were raised in the same church group, and I had a little crush on him,” she adds. “We went different directions until a rally some of my family attended in Utah"

Which means that he was part of their polygamist AUB church group in Utah and his family was attending the Utah rally in support of polygamy.

Why, Aspyn, Why???!! I had such hopes for you!!! After going to college in Las Vegas and being exposed to other young men, I was hoping she would date people outside the AUB and not rush into a marriage.

    2. P.s. to my above post; after watching their post on TLC (thank you Anon 9:55) I had an additional comment;

After watching her fiance speak, I would bet the farm that this young man from the AUB named Mitch Thompson is obviously a close relative ( I would go so far as to say sibling or half-sibling!) of Rosemary Thompson Williams (wife of Brady from "My Five Wives") Looks like here....same speech as her....I wonder how Christine reconciles this? Rosemary's claims of sexual abuse against her father, Lynn Thompson, president of the AUB church, have torn their AUB community apart. Although the Kodster loves to speak out against Warren Jeffs, he has remained silent about their own group, the AUB. No one quite seems to know if the Browns are still members or not and with the war going on within the AUB it will be interesting to see how the fiance fits into this mess.

Thanks for the possible heads up on this.
I do remember Rosemary of Brady's Bunch divulging her story and feeling so bad for her.
Aspyn is an adult and free to choose. (and she IS lovely)
Can only hope her guy is "different" from his genes if proven to be related.

    4. Thank you Big Sky, I had no idea she was dating within the cult. She looks so successful on her instagram at college. I really thought she was going to opt out of the klan... oh this is so so sad.
I always thought Aspyn is gorgeous and Yasabel too. The kissing cousins Kody/Christine is a great gene combo for these two girls. (I think they share a great grandparent or two) yuck.
Oh I'm just so disappointed. I wonder how the Browns feel about a paternal great granddad that is an aledged pedophile. But that is nothing new for this cult, FLDS in general.
Ugh I watched the tape, another real winner on the huge doughy pile of in-laws.
But this blog years ago said that these kids are going to run away with the first guy/gal who shows them any attention and it seems to be playing out that way. Who knew they would find so many creepy mates. Oh man, this just bums me out. But it does smell of allot like a wedding competition with these girls. And the 5 bumblers are always so tickled that these extremely young woman are just marrying so young. I know Aspen is older than Maddie and Mykelti, but for today's standards they are all so young.
Well all I can say is Kody better hurry up and nail down Mindy and even a younger #6 because he is going to be in competition with his kids for many more years always one upping them with his own new baby after every grand baby according to his comment the second Maddie announced hers.... what a jackass, egotistical Peter Pan, narcissistic PLYG !

    5. Is it possible that her fiance also does not want to live polygamy? Do you have evidence that he does? Big deal they were raised in it and met again at a pro-plyg rally. The other Brown family children were there as support to their parents, not necessarily to express their own innermost desire to be polygamist. We know most the teens/Young adults are NOT choosing polygamy.

    6. I looked up a picture of her to show my mom which one I was talking about. The first one I clicked was the girls on the couch talking about "Share my husbands? Thats sounds like a lot of Hell No." I have said in order for this show to go on they would really need one of the kids to want to live it...she wasn't even on my radar though.

  67. I'm glad that Aspyn is happy and I wish the couple well. Hopefully, her university experience, her opportunities to see the wider world via her sorority, and her time in Las Vegas have allowed her to develop a heightened sense of discernment, so that she will be able to give informed consent or informed refusal to living plural marriage with a husband from within the congregation. If he says he won't take any additional wives after Aspyn, and then does so, I hope Aspyn has developed the tools to leave that marriage before polygamy damages her to the point of not being able to leave and build a new life.

  70. The Alldredge Family.

This family seems happier than most poly families that have been on TLC. The wives are both lovely, well spoken and seem to sincerely get along. When sitting on the couch he is paying attention to them both and all seem happy. Their kids are adorable and seem happy. I think the wives likely bonded over having many kids close to the same age. They has bedrooms that seem pretty equal. They are both nearly equally pretty imo and appear to be close to the same age. I think this all helps. He also was honest with them both before marriage about wanting to live poly, which is way better than springing it on woman after they get married and have kids. Despite this, I see some red flags with them as well.
-He is much older than the women. Too old for his family really.
-They have a really nice balance of power that seems pretty equal and happy. I think a third wife will upset this all and throw them into turmoil.
-Can a third wife fit in their house?
-It seems odd that a man with many young children and 2 wives younger than himself would have time or a desire to troll the internet looking for a third woman. It seems creepy and odd to me.
-Something seems off about the woman they were video chatting with.
-Vanessa, his first wife, doesn’t seem happy about the third wife. She expressed her pregnancy hormones are effecting her on this and wanting to take things at her own (likely slower pace). Between the lines, she doesn’t desire this at all and I can't really blame her.

  71. Seeking Sister Wives

    The Snowdens

Ashley is lovely and well spoken. Their children are adorable. The couple is trying to present themselves as a modern couple with an empowered and happy relationship who are on this journey as a consenting team. Reading between the lines, I see a different story.

-They are not legally married, allegedly so a second wife feels more equal. They have 3 kids together and started having kids before likely talking about a sister wife. I think he might have long standing commitment issues.
-Ashley says she wants this in part so she knows who he is sleeping with and is part of the situation. Does mean that he would be sleeping around on her either way and feels this is better than sneaky affairs?
-He suggested this of course. This was not her idea, but rather something went along with.
    - They had a sister wife in the past, but said didn’t work out because the woman didn’t want to bond with Ashley so they ended it. There could be more to his story.
    - Dimitri says he wants a sister wife so Ashely has someone to bond with and empower her. Not marrying her and seeking another woman doesn’t sound a great way to empower his wife to me.
    - Ashley says she is done having kids. Will he put her to pasture for the woman with younger kids eventually? Why is she done? Did her doctor advice this be her last pregnancy? Will she change her tune when she sees Dimitri paying more attention to the woman still have babies? It seems odd that a women would allow her husband a second woman to please him, would put her foot down and stop having babies if he wants more kids
-She seems to expect or hope a sister wife will be her best friend. She would be better off finding girlfriend who is not sleeping with her husband to share her ups and down with. She will probably never be able to fully trust a sister wife.
-She tries to sound cheerful and enpowered, but if one really watches her facial expressions while she talks, she looks down right pained and tormented at times as she talks about their search for a second wife. .

  72. he Briney Family

This family is a train wreck. Drew seems like a jerk. He also seems pretty clueless about women and the games they play, making him not a great choice to head a poly family. April seems like she is being grossly mistreated. Auralee seems really manipulative to me. Angela seems leveled headed, but the how level headed can a woman be who married into a family like after knowing Drew for just days really be? Listening to the details, I also picked up.

-April married into a committed relationship and was blinded sided by the poly thing. It took her a whole year to agree to it and she likely doesn’t want it and never wanted it.
-One of April’s sons living outside the home is not yet 18. Does he not get along with dad or something?
-Auralee goes on camera talking about how manipulative April is, but watching them on screen, it looked like it was her doing the game playing to me.
-Auralee’s lisp while probably real to a point, also seems cutsy and overdone. Possibly a bit baby talky and possibly is part of her way of controlling Drew at times.
-April probably does want the basement, but she probably wants it for reasons other than holding it over Auralee’s head. She had some teenagers, including some who don’t live at home. She possibly wants to give them a sanctuary in the basement where she can visit with them without the rest of the family looming around. She might want to take over the basement, but probably for the good of her children. That could be what she meant by I put my kids first.
-Auralee seems to be Drew’s favorite wife. She also seemed to have the most control over him. It is very likely they already decided that Auralee, the favorite, would get the master bedroom and share such with Drew and this all was sorted of acted out for the camera.
-It is very likely that Auralee is saying things about April and the master bedroom to try and win points with the viewers and try and paint herself as the victim early on or at least like she isn’t wrong for taking the master bedroom away from the first wife.
-When Drew comforted Auralee about the bedrooms, he seemed to be taking sides.
-April didn’t seem like she did or said anything wrong to me when she said, fine have the master bedroom, I will take the basement, its best for my kids anyways. I saw nothing wrong with that. It looked like a set-up to make her bad guy in the family.
-Angela seems to be a sigh, long suffering sigh about this all.
-Drew and Auralee both speak quite unflattering about April. I feel really bad for her.

In reading thru some of their FB posts, apparently they have been doing interviews for foreign media like the UK and even Al Jazzera. I guess there is some $$$ in doing things like that, but still there must be a reliable income coming in somewhere.

And obviously Brady must not be concerned about being carted off to jail by the state of Utah...since their new house is in Eagle Mountain, Utah. Which means that their story line about having to flee from the law to Washington state that was pitched in their final season was all bogus too!

  77. A letter from one of the Brown kids to the Brown parents:

Dear Dad and Mom, and Mom, and Mom, and Robyn,

For the past year and a half, I've been seeing a very nice young lady called Cherysh. She's a practicing Rastafarian, and we met in our religious studies class. She's smart, and funny, and beautiful. I love her dreadlocks because they remind me of Bob Marley.

Cherysh and I have decided to marry. Needless to say, we won't be living plural marriage; I intend to convert to her church. We will live in Montecito and grow pharmaceutical ganja.

We know that marriage is an expensive proposition, and that you've had to pay for Madison's, Mykelti's, and soon Aspyn's. We don't want all that fuss and bother. What we would appreciate is a sum that we can put toward a down payment on some land and a small house. The justice of the peace in Montecito is willing to do the ceremony. Dad, will you be my groomsman? And Moms, could you also join us as witnesses? Robyn, perhaps you could stay home with the littles, since Ari and Solomon are too young to behave themselves in a courthouse. And Meri Mama, could we book the honeymoon suite at the B & B for a week? Of course, we intend to pay for our stay.

Ever your loving, Mariah and Cherysh
