SISTER WIVES LIVE TWEET PARTY for Sunday, January 21, 2018

Hey Everybody! I've been saving a seat for ya on the sofa....I hope you are ready for tonight's entertainment!

But first...

In case you've missed it, another Full Grown Brownie will be hitting the bricks on the way to the marriage altar.

That's right, Christine's eldest daughter Aspyn is....ENGAGED!! WOOT WOOT!!!!

But not so fast with the celebrations. He's a "family" friend from Lehi (say whut?) that goes to the same family "church" ....cough.....AUB....cough cough....as the Browns.

Is it a coincidence he shares the same last name as the current Church leader? Who knows.

But I predict:

Aspyn will get married at Meri's newest business venture...Lizzie's Inn in Parowan UT.
Maybe they should ask that prophet across the street to officiate. Anyone is better than Kody. Just ask Mykelti!

In case you didn't see the announcement...

Kody had to make sure HE and the other MEN FOLK were responsible for bringing these two love birds together. But this has Christine's handprints all over it. A Blueblood finally marrying a suitable match. Who would've thunk it, right?

But wait, there's more!!!

Meri and Dayton celebrated their birthdays, in different ways of course but always including that nutty looking bald fellow...

Even Kody celebrated his birthday. How sweet of his current legal wife to tweet how handsome he is. Next thing you know, she'll be calling him "Lover." Like Meri used to do in the old days...

Last but not least, Jangle (aka Janelle) celebrated her 25th wedding to Robyn's legal hubby...but, Kody seems to have more hair in this picture. Must be a REALLY OLD photograph!

Hey, it's almost Party Time!

Satisfy your need to discuss the show here in the comfort of my living room!
Hmmm....doesn't it look like Christine was up to something in this picture?

It's Sister Wives  L I V E  T W E E T  P A R T Y  T I M E   !!!

Prepare yourself for MORE Mr. Robyn Brown  BLOVIATING!!

Did Kody get hair extensions? His hair looks soo....different.

Will the current Mrs. Kody Brown even tweet tonight?

Robyn: I can't wait for my girls to married so I can get some quality face time on the show!

GET SET FOR MORE SISTER WIVES FUN AND GAMES!!!

Meri: Don't knock the power of the banana, Kody! Just sayin'...

Gird up your loins!
Sister Wives is on the snark menu in My Living Room Tonight!!!

  1. I am happy for Aspyn, but I do hope that her plans for a monogamist marriage will be fulfilled for all eternity. I don't want her to get married and then find that her husband wants to practice polygamy. She deserves better than that.

  2. Did Meri verify that Sister Wives is just a scripted show where the producers develop a story line and the "actors" follow through? I believe she alluded to that when she defended Ten Taco Tony. She said something along the line of "you have only seen the episodes. Tony is really a great guy in real life. We love Tony." This signifies that the episodes don't reflect reality. I truly hope that is true for Mykelti's sake, because Ten Taco Tony comes across as a real doofus. I hope that his personality is only producer driven drivel that is only seen during the episodes.

    1. On the other hand, he is a bloviating attention hog who thinks he is charming...She fell in love with her daddy. And that would likely mean her moms adore him, too.

    2. I've thought something similar to this is the truth. That Meri LIKES that personality type..or did at one point. People keep saying (On facebook) that "oh Mykelti wouldn't stay with someone who was overbearing and didn't care about her feelings. He won't railroad her in life."

Um well her mother chose and stayed with a guy like that. I remember the therapy session with the rocks. Welcome to your life Mykelti! They all find thoughtless bull dozing to be charming. Not to mention Mykelti is probably sad to be reading about how no one likes the dude she married. I would imagine her moms are trying to smooth over that tidal wave of sentiment from the audience to spare her feelings.

    3. "She fell in love with her daddy"

      Well said.

  3. Did Meri inadvertently confirm that Sister Wives is a highly scripted reality show with little or no connection to the world the family truly lives in? I believe she did. In her Twitter Feed she leapt to the defense of Ten Taco Tony. She said something along the lines of "the viewers have only seen the episodes. They have no idea what the man is truly like. We love Tony." Well, why do we have no idea what the man is like. It sounds as though we see only see what the producers want us to see. For Mykelti's sake I hope that Ten Taco Tony is not the doofus he appears to be.

  4. Referring to the episode two weeks ago and keeping in mind it was only a snapshot in time, I still can’t forget the looks on the faces of Tony’s family members when they met the Brown family. I can’t decide if they were (1) uncomfortable with tv cameras; (2) uncomfortable with a language barrier which is actually greater than it appeared during the episode; (3) overwhelmed (or horrified) by the menagerie into which their son is marrying; (4) embarrassed and/or humiliated at the behavior of a son to whom they taught respectability and manners; after all, his folks are facing friends and neighbors after their son has acted like a oddball on TV.

Reportedly, Tony’s mom and Mykelti have a good relationship; let’s hope that is true and sustainable. But I thought I detected a heartbroken look in Tony’s mom’s eyes as the family was departing the Brown cul-de-sac. I know it’s water under the bridge at this point, but I felt really sorry for her.

    1. If they don’t speak Spanish they could be fearful of being public themselves. First their son leaves Catholicism. Then he marries the child of polygamists. They must be wondering if he will go FLDS. Especially with the LDS church rejecting for the time another Brown child.

      Delete
    2. Agree, kms !!
In observing his family, it certainly did occur to me that these people may not welcome such publicity. Especially, as you said, there is the language problem along with all the other issues that they are dealing with having their son enter into such an unfamiliar world.
Tony may be all into the Kodyworld circus, but his family may have a huge adjustment to contend with. I hope he and Mykelti are sensitive to that.

  5. Just FYI, Aspyn's intended is "David Mitchell Thompson on his Facebook page. In case you wanted to look him up. Nothing much there but he has traveled the world and has some very nice photos. Also his friends list is the usual assortment of plyg surnames...Jessop, Blackmore, Allred, Darger, Sullivan...etc...the family wreath is never ending.

    1. I saw that too, just now on my dvr. All of the wives--except for Christine-- and Kody want to go to Southern Utah. Imho, they're cruel if they put the kids through another move. I went through several moves myself as a child, plus a move cross country at 18. It was absolute hell on me and on my psyche, and messed up my sense of security for decades after. In my case the moves were absolutely necessary. I love the show (I'm a sociology major so I love plyg shows and other things like this) but if they uproot the kids AGAIN I may well be done.

  7. The absolute best an real moments of this season so far is Garrison coming home. I almost she'd a tear as all his siblings were so excited to see him.

    1. Agreed!!! And he was so happy to see them - it was so sweet! And Janelle's reaction was so...normal. Finally some emotion from her!

    2. It really is heartwarming that the kids all seem to love and support one another.

Christine did a great job creating a safe and loving household during the family's early formative years

      Delete
  8. I agree, Garrison coming home was real. That is what is making this this show such a farce. Most of these scenes are not real. They are as false as the premise that Sister Wives do get along. I suspect that the kids are what ties these women together. Other than that, they have nothing to do with one another. I wish we could see more real scenes from their lives.

    1. Other than Christine and Janelle working as "working mom" + " childcare provider " there never has been any cooperative or friendship. They can pretend that they are silly besties on the couch, but that is just for the TLC paycheck.

      Delete
    2. Then again, you could say that they're just like real people in their late forties: the majority of adult couples I (mid-40s) know are only still together because of their children and don't have anything else in common anymore. So there's that.

      Delete
    3. Having children in common is a pretty significant thing to have in common.

Shared history is part of what makes a family.

  9. How many times does Janelle have to mention how hard it is to do the lip sinc skit? That woman's story lines are so boring they just beat them to death. I like when she sits on the couch comatose way better that when they try to animate her with the most boring attempts of interaction. Meh.
But I do have to say I enjoy this estrogen driven episode with little or no in put from Kodouce and 10 taco Tony than last weeks Groomzilla.

    1. Story line. Save money for a down payment. The job market hasn’t been good to millennial without college this last decade. Couldn’t have been living month to month. She may have wanted a millions people around her in polygamist norm. They had been in another state. There is probably better hospitals or even midwife choices in Nevada than Montana.

I really find it odd that the oldest kids finished college but the younger had taken leaves and done military. Think it’s clear they don’t have enough to put all the kids through school. Especially when the first two got such expensive degrees that took extra time to complete, and Logan even worked a bit. I find it odd they didn’t decide to move fully to Utah. Young married people in school is such a norm there. At som point they could be paying in state tuitions after getting residency. Wyoming made that hard.

      Delete
    2. Totes agree! If I was Janelle I would say nuh-uh. I believe Caleb said at the wedding he was 28, so yeah, dude should have already been settled before he got married.

      Delete
  12. I agree! I know that Caleb went back to school with Maddie. I applaud that decision. However, living with Janelle is not easy. She apparently has her mother living with her. How many mother-in-laws have moved in? This is the first time I have heard about grandma living with Janelle. My opinion, if Maddie needs to move home, she needs to share space with the others even if she is married and expecting.

    2. Adult kids in need of crash pad would be a good use of Meri's extra space...

      Delete
    3. Well if she "not going to go to their house to take care of their kids" she sure is not going to let an adult bonus child crash at her house and possibly upset her craftroom or her gift wrapping room or her storage room or her......who knows what she does with all those rooms.
These people are ridiculous. Why are these adults moving back? Gotta get on the TLC graveyard train. That Caleb is a real catch.

    4. i would love to know more about Janelles mom moving in with her and the story behind that. I wonder if Kodys mom chased her off after his father died.

      Delete
    5. Yes me too, sounds juicy ...they haven't mentioned a word about this. They do so many empty story lines of ridiculously boring issues. Maybe make Meri talk a little faster, edit out the long pauses and starring at the camera Meri does in her taking head scenes and there would be plenty of time for "Kody welcomes his Stepmother-mother in law to the cult-de-sac"

      Delete
    6. Great catch wondering if Kody's mom tossed Janelle's off the property. They had separate houses on that farm so what would the harm have been for her to have stayed there? Is Christine's mother still around? Funny if all these relatives are bunking up and Meri continues to be solo. Now THAT'S telling.

    8. I think Janelle said she needs room for when 'her mom needs it', not so much that she's moved in with them already? She did start to whisper though, like it's a bit of a secret.

As for Meri, she put her mom in Utah in her B&B didn't she, so also in one of their homes technically. Meri's just more cunning about it.

  17. ROBYN'S FACE!!!
    Oh, my gosh.
Robyn's face when Kody oh-so-humbly bubbled his "Mom and I knew!" about Maddie's pregnancy.
    Ha ha ha!!!
Karma. Karma is a lovely woman when she wants to be.
Robyn did not look at all happy that she wasn't involved with this secret.

    Psshh.

Wasn't it demure Robyn who let Kody help pick out her dress and then wasn't it Robyn who paraded the other women along under the guise of needing help with dress selection?

When the other wives found out that they had hoodwinked, I think Christine I is the one who could hardly handle it. Don't blame her, but I hope she realizes that Karma just not didn't Christine a favor. :)

    1. Haha! I caught that look, and rewound, and caught it again! She could not believe her precious Kody kept a secret like that from her. This is what I think, she has always wanted to be the number one wife, the one that Kody goes to for everything, the one he trusts the most, and trusts with all his secrets and concerns. So she was shocked to learn that he kept something so special to him, and to the family, away from her. The look said it all. And she tried to make up for it by saying, "I can't believe you kept a secret from everyone"....no, she meant kept it from HER.

      Delete
    2. It also is a manifestation of intimacy between Kody and Janelle. As the assended 1st wife she was so upset that he didn't disclose the secret to her. Hummm, I wonder if Robchin sees Janelle as a new threat to her position. I'm sure she will start dwelling on her weight issues and Kody whispering negative comments about Janelle. Wow, I think that look was surprise that a wife put out to pasture could still be a challenge to her domination of Kody.
Guess what Robchin, they have been married 25 years, time you can never compare with you 8? They went through the early struggle that you will never be able to recreate in a pencil portrait.

Poor Christine, when she found out about Kody and Robyn's little secret.

    6. After Robyn's look, the 2nd most interesting facial expression was Mykelti's. I had to rewind and also look at Mykelti again! There is way more jealousy and competition among those girls than I realized. At least on Mykelti's part. Just as the wives compete for Kody's attention, the kids must also feel it is a competition. I should have realized when Madison made such a point of discussing when they could reveal the pregnancy without upsetting Mykelti. How crazy and immature - unless you are making the pregnancy announcement at the actual wedding (and even then, I wouldn't have cared if a sibling announced something that is so special in front of all our family and friends gathered in one place) anyway, what possible difference can it make about the timing of announcing it? More fabricated drama!! I think keeping it a secret and announcing it closer to the wedding rather than immediately only heightened the drama (which is of course what TLC wanted!)

  18. And poor Garrison and his acne. It looks painful. Some it looks cystic. :(

Aspyn...is she not the prettiest young lady? So classy and down to earth. I wish her well.
She would make the poster child for polygamy...keeping the stress in. :(

  19. Oh, man, I have missed you all! CJ, I am unbelievably happy to have you back in my life, shout outs also to Mr. Spock and Amused--thank you (and everyone else!) for the endless hours of entertainment!

  20. My husband was very upset when we watched the Garrison coming home bit. "It doesn't matter if Meri lives 3 hours away or 30 seconds. No one went and got her and told her he was early, because no one missed her. She should be able to go and live wherever she wants and go have her mid life crisis with whatever boy toy she wants. When they had the catfish stuff I felt bad for the family but now I think it would have happened regardless of tv, maybe not the catfishing part but her looking for someone in her life."

    ReplyDelete
  21. Robyn wasn't so stealth with her usual injecting herself into every situation. As usual, in the talking heads, she had to dominate the explanation of polygamy, even though she has the least experience with it. Then, she flashed her real self when she accused all the nameless, faceless Haters of not understanding that their lives are much more joy than struggle.

At the worst 21st birthday party in Las Vegas that I can imagine, she had to yell at Caleb's statement that his gift was a real surprise. Then, she asked a few too many questions, belaboring her supposed comedy. She also acted like Kody's watch gifts were the best ever - more so than the actual recipients.

She over-emoted with her surprise at Kody's secret-keeping, in order to interject herself into the situation and to deflect from Maddie's fertility. After all, part of Robyn's identity is the only broodmare. She also over-emphasized that she was directing her comments to Kody alone by repeatedly calling out his name. There wasn't so much "Brown Chaos" that she had to.

Finally, when Garrison came home, and everyone ran to gather around him, she sat, waiting for him to come to her, withholding the child he wanted to hold until he appropriately revered them. There were probably a few other examples, too.

  22. Silly me....I thought someone up-thread had said that Kody wasn't in this epp much. So getting around to watching had at least the expectation of not much of Haystack Head !! Wrong assumption !!

This epp was tedious to the point of exasperation !!!
Where to start...how about in order of annoyance....?!

    Janelle...
How damn many times did they subject us to hearing her "oh, I am not comfortable, don't have a clue about dance moves, not my thing, makes me nervous, don't know what to do, can't see any decorations until it's over.....blah, blah..."
TLC, if you don't have enough footage to fill the 2 hour slot, then DO NOT force feed such repetitive, stupid, stupid crap!!

Janelle, how about "Striving" to look and sound coherent for a change??
You had a marriage, got divorced, got the hots for a snake-oil salesman selling eternal clouds in exchange for your uterus, moved in on Meri's world, had SIX kids, supposedly worked in the real world, signed on to having your life on display for the world for the last 8 years.....
    And what....you are flat-lining about lip-singing with 3 other people for 3 minutes !!!!! Bullsh*t

    Sobbin...
Please stop trying to pretend to be surprised, to be knowledgeable, to be wise, to be witty, etc, etc....you just are a lousy actress!!!
You don't do it well enough to not end up just being annoyingly fake !! And if you wouldn't clench your jaw and maybe open your mouth wider when you speak, your words might not sound so "slushy" and whiny.

    Kody.....
8 years of Kody Idiot all high on his self-importance, his unwavering, insatiable need to be center-stage....hunched shoulders into the camera, shaking his hair so it stays fluffed up and covering his baldness, rodent eyes a-darting side to side like a pendulum. In any filmed scene that product-laden head of straw must be the very last bit of primping the crew does before "Action" is called!!
If anything finally kills this franchise, it will be Kody's talking head spots. (or should be) Enough, just enough of him.

    Christine....
Christine is a study in a 40 something woman stuck in a 16 year mind. Hard to see her as functional when she comes off so silly and adolescent. She is a good person, but then so are lots of teenagers !!
It's easy to see why Aspyn is a take charge person....she had to be.
Not going to snark Christine's singing...like a kid, she thought it was good. Case closed.
And like a kid, Christine likes to play dress-up and lip-sinc....and didn't we all as kids?

    Meri....
Why was Meri even featured in this epp except to highlight how much she isn't there? She appears to be rocking a bit of that bronzer again..but at least she IS wearing her merchandise. Layers and more layers.
However, who believes that Meri missed the memo of Garrison coming home and that no one thought to call, text or run across the driveway?
Were her lights on when Logan drove up with Garrison? And didn't Meri wonder about all the film crew trucks/vans/cars in front of Janelle's house???

    Mykelti....
Please.....you are a married woman....you had an education!
Just stop with the "her" and my Dad".....!!!

    1. Mkelti also had her associates basically when she graduated from high school taking college courses before graduating. Why isn’t she done with school?

      Delete
    2. They have never really explained (not fully anyway) Mykelti's schooling. It was stated that she went to a college for their "high school program" back when they had the storyline of her wanting to enter the fashion industry. But they never said why she went to a different school from the other children. Then, she started uni and lived with Aspyn for a year before dropping out, stating on the show "college is hard". I would think that if she had been an accelerated student who was taking college/university level classes at the age of 16ish she would have excelled once going to university.

Her dropping out, and not being allowed to move back home into Christine's home is what eventually led to them setting her up in Utah at the pawn shop job and then meeting Tony and getting married on the tailfeathers of sister Maddie. I wonder if Christine is sorry she didn't just let Mykelti come home and sort things out under her wings instead.

  24. As far as Maddie and Caleb moving back to the compound for “reasons”, there could be a very practical “reason” for this turn of events. They may want into the TLC gravy train full time since they can now sell the labor and first “water birth” in Kodyworld and they can expect ongoing checks for regular screen time.

TLC may have balked at paying for a film crew for them out of state, instead, agreeing to bring them on but only if they moved in for easy filming. Maddie and her husband seem to be needy.
Along with the scintillating drama of Kody’s first grandchild, it gives new storylines like the mesmerizing plot of Kody acting as general contractor for the unnecessary renovations!
    All about Kody as usual!!

Also, for the ladies of the lip-sinc dance (namely Janelle and Sobbin) who fretted that they would make fools of themselves.....

The look on Mykelti's face when her bonus sister had the NERVE to announce her pregnancy during HER wedding season was priceless!
If they would address their real issues this show would be worth watching. Like why is Janelle's mother living with her? What happened to Kody's mom/her sister wife?

    1. Added note: also noticed Janelle's mom was at the bridal shower. Pretty sure she wouldn't travel from Wyoming to her bonus granddaughter's bridal shower. Methinks there was trouble on the ranch that sent her to the cult de sac.

    2. I have also been wondering what become of Janelle's mom, Sheryl, after Winn died. The Double Dollar Ranch was in a family trust and Sheryl was definitely not listed as part of it. While Winn was alive, I'm sure he shared resources and income with Sheryl, however, all that would stop after he passed away. Winn was very proud that the farm was a 5th generation ranch and I don't see him dividing it up or gifting part of the ranch to a wife without bio children - although, he could have left a fraction in a lifetime estate to her and have it pass to her grandkids (Kody's and Janelle's) but it didn't look like the trust allowed for that. Winn had so many children, I doubt he would dilute things further by including the grandkids in the division of the ranch. Winn also had a third wife and children so I can only imagine how tight the resources were stretched! Polygamy is not kind to the non legal wives---no social security benefits (from the deceased spouse), no legal standing to insist upon fairly dividing assets. If you are one of Kody's wives you have his flippant assurance "that will all be handled in the will." RIGHT. I've read where upon the man's death, wives have to leave their homes. If the home is not in their name it is part of the man's estate/trust and "hoping" that your husband has "handled it in his will" is not a good strategy for the other wives!!

It wouldn't surprise me if Sheryl was living in a home that was on the ranch's property and part of the trust--after the estate was settled, she was out of a home....

    3. Nice insight, Big Sky.

A smart woman interested in living a life in polygamy, looking to secure financial stability for she and her children, would only ever be the legal wife.

Otherwise, like George Costanza would say, she's got "No HAND!".

Congrats to Aspyn and her big guy--they will have nice looking children.

      Delete
    4. If none of them were legally married, like they really ought not be, then the ranch could be a partnership of the lot of them or he could more equally divide it up. The trouble is what if wife a and wife c want to marry again. Different men. But what about the children? Their money and share? It’s a bad idea.

  26. Oh did anyone watch the Searching episode this week?

Where the family all sat down and invented lies about who all the extra moms were? All while filming? It brought me back to the Browns packing up the moving truck with siren noises edited over the top of it to pretend things were worse than they were to push on this Vegas story. You're on tv. Your neighbors probably aren't staring because of the 85 children and herds of mothers walking around, they probably know they live in Utah and that polygamy is a thing there. They are probably staring because of the camera crew. The grossness of the lie and teaching the kids to lie...while rendering it a pointless lie because you are FILMING it was extra icky. It made everyone involved seem stupider than I thought was possible.

They also said something interesting. That the first wife (April? Still learning names) would be safe from prosecution as the legal wife. Is this a true thing? In Utah would Meri have been safe? And now I guess Robyn if they went back?

    1. Also on Seeking...the Snowdens who are "dating" right now....I have a terrible feeling that the wife of the family is honestly looking for house help that will be paid in sex. The way she talks about her 'relationship' and how they will be a village to work together to support each other... I mean, to any girl being approached by any married man the right response is "RUN!" but this one is particularly bad.

    2. I think the gf/baby mama is going along with it so she is involved instead of him just plain cheating.

When the family with the 2 wives found out the potential 3rd couldn't have kids I think the other 2 were relieved. Now they can have extra help with the kids and hubby can boink another woman without adding more kids. Win, win. Plus, the other 2 will always have that celestial advantage since they have kids!

The 3 wife family is rediculous. You are on tv! Maybe the neighbors wonder why the new huge family has a tv crew there??? If you were soooo worried you wouldn't be on tv! I noticed at least 1 of Auralee's kids has the same speech impediment she does. I wonder if they are addressing that. Being that she is from a ploygamist family where the family tree is more like a wreath, that speech impediment might be a manifestation of the wreath.

      Delete
    3. Ooh! Very good point. And on the Snowdens...I did also wonder if she was actually interested in a threesome relationship...especially when her sister said that she was always one who wanted to try anything, the more wild the better.

But you are so right: the infertile woman joining the poly family is going to be on permanent baby duty. I did wonder what the point of having her join the family would be since they have that spiritual call to procreate...

    6. It’s not my doctrine it’s theirs. They have three, in the FLDS world they get the planets after death where they go on to have Spirit babies. The LDS now say you need one wife and if you are awesome at being LDS you get the planets and eternity of spirit babies. As someone who adopted it is an attractive idea that I could theoretically have babies in the afterlife. Fortunately I am catholic and happily content only promised being in the presence of God. He is enough to make heaven attractive after all.

  27. Fun fact about the people on Seeking Sister Wives;

Faithful viewers have encountered both of the Fundamentalist Mormon husbands on the show before:

Drew Briney appeared as a voice on the phone in 'My Five Wives' where he explained that Utah doesn't allow cohabiting couples to adopt, whether or not they are polygamous.

Jeff Allredge was one of the friends who went out with Kody in s02e22, where Kody tried his hand at MMA. I literally just realised this a few minutes ago and it made me realise how small the world of Mormon Fundamentalism really is.

His second wife Sharis is an Allred (like Christine) by birth, but his name is actually Allredge.

  32. It's pretty clear that Kody isn't sleeping at Meri's house. One thing i notice is that all the other wives seem more content these days. It kind of reminds me of the time when there were only three wives and everyone seemed a little happier. I thought it was interesting to see Kody and Janelle interact over the logistics of the potential renovation and room rearranging; you can tell that talking about logical things is the "sweet spot" in their communication. In a strange way it was almost like witnessing intimacy. I think Kody is bored with Robyn. I know I am.

    1. Unless it's TLC's editing, I also agree that the the other wives seem more content and I wonder if Meri and Kody's relationship (and just Meri in general) caused friction among the family.
The preview is leading us to believe that while Kody says "we're like a divorced couple living on the same block with each other," Meri would prefer they work on their relationship. I can't imagine she enjoys this arrangement of being celibate and staying married to Kody. She must have been holding out hope they would repair their marriage? It sounds like Kody is done with her and he is finally verbalizing that to her.
It was very evident how disconnected Meri is from the family. During Garrison's party when no one thought to check in on her and see if she was home from her trip--or notice her lights on and invite her over--she had not checked in with one person in the family. At this point she's just a neighbor on their street!

      Delete
    2. I agree with you Big Sky. Kody's zest for plural marriage seems to have waned for several reason:
      * His age
      * The drama with Meri that was visible to the public and showed that plural marriage is not all he presented it to be.
      * His father's death. It appears that many things Kody did in his life were to gain his father's approval and now that he is gone, that motivation is gone.

I think Kody would love to be monogamous with Robyn from here on out. It seems that Janelle and Christine have made peace with this or are in the process of it by focusing on their children's lives (marriages, grandkids) and getting their emotional needs met through them instead of Kody. IMHO, I think that Meri did the one thing that Kody cannot move on from because she publicly humiliated him and he is so ego-driven...

    3. I imagine they would be content never having had his 24/7. The others only had him 3 or 4 and Robyn not even that. It’s easy not to miss a person never there.

Her dress fits well and is stylish, the colors she is wearing are really flattering on her, etc. I guess I don't expect that on this show, but very well done!

Also, I think the way they are going out of their way to include Mexican foods and traditions is charming. But mostly because I love Mexican food and tradition. ;D

Back to watching, will be cringing soon, I'm sure.

    1. replying to myself: Aspyn and Christine's couch time is absolutely adorable.

      Ha! I saw Meri's Onesie thing and just knew the only fabric that ugly in the world was Lularoe. [And I do love some of the ugly Lularoe, so it's not all snark.}

Ok...the lipsync is adorable and cute. I really liked it. Showers like that are always so boring, at least this is an attempt to entertain the guests. :D

Also love the couch moment when the ladies hesitate, but agree that what Kody thinks matters less and less to them. I hardly think they meant it though. totally for ratings. But fun to here nonetheless. I kind of wonder if saying that sort of thing and not meaning it enough will eventually make them start to believe it...a reverse fake it till you feel it religious moment...

On to Maddie's return...ug. She can't walk down the hall to use a toilet? Whatever. I'm over that. But still, Kody is planning a bathroom when Meri is across the street with a completely empty house. What. The. heck. And...if nothing else why not put Maddie and Caleb in the downstairs bedroom and let the game room stay the game room? Again...this is manufactured drama for the sake of the show. That's all it is. It's a Janelle's family story line, where a Janelle's family story line is not needed.

And now I'm onto the singing lessons. God bless that poor child. ACK! That was her LAST practice?! Why not just do a poetry reading or something?! I want constant attention, but not bad enough to sing.

I think the frisbee idea is cute, but I like quirky ceremonies.

Also...they are jewelry designers and sellers but they found some other ring for their new son-in-law. How like them.

Christine in the wedding dress....it is such an unattractive sad sack of a piece of clothing. And...yeah...Kody seemed to have an actual emotional moment of love for his wife when he walked in and saw her in that. I did not ever expect to see that on tv. How incredibly sad that she was never able to have a husband who felt like that about her and only her. Repeat times 3 for the other women as well. How terribly sad they could never be someone's one and only. Even Meri always knew she was just the first and not the only.

And finally... why oh why did Mykelti want both an outdoor wedding and a December wedding?!

  36. MrSpock comments thusly:

    1. Have never disliked Kody's hair...yes, it's true. :-) However, MrSpock does not like the man bun---on Kody or any other man. Yuk.

    2. "Seeking Sister Wife" -- Have only watched portions of this show and have found it to be the usual moaning and groaning from the various "wives" about the lack of attention from the man or another "wife" is doing this or that wrong. Agree with all comments about Drew's family teaching their children to lie because a) it is the wrong thing to do, and b) it is all over the TV for anyone to see. That plot line is so absurd it is beyond absurd. MrSpock is also irritated with the upcoming promo for the show with April crying to Drew that she only gets the leftovers when it comes to his attention. Well, cry me a river, April, what were you expecting with two other women sharing the guy. No sympathy here.

    3. Wonder what the Meri/Kody relationship is these days since this was all filmed a year or so ago.

  37. David lost a father. Meri lost a husband. Kody lost a wife. This polygamy seems to be all about losing people, not multiplying love.

  38. A few "realities" are center-stage early on this season in the Brown compound, and it is about time for some true reality.

1- Meri admitted without hesitation that she does not visit the other wives, nor do they visit her. Meri may have finally been the one to actually say it, but it has been suspected all along that this is consistent with all of them with each other.
Other than the annual/semi/annual filming schedule which requires the group scenes/plots and TH's, and any normal family events like we all have, including a kid coming home from military duty, it is doubtful the adults interact much at all. The kids probably do, just like any neighbor kids would. Kody may still do his bed-hopping, and maybe not.

2- Absolutely, Meri and Kody are a defunct relationship. Thinking back to how much airtime their relationship woes got last season (which of course was already almost a year old in real time then anyway)it was and is falsely being kept alive for the cameras and show.
It is pretty clear that this season's Meri/Kody plot is "will she or won't she leave for good?"
But really now, who cares?? Who can or should care when what is being shown about it this season is nothing more a bunch of YEAR OLD edited scenes?

3- Certainly does look like TLC, having exhausted copying the playboook of Big Love, has now moved on to following the Duggers theme with 2nd generation marriages, pregnancies and births. Yawn !

4-Think back to all those blog years of "Run, Kody wives, run"....
These women are not going anywhere. And they never were.
Even Meri's supposed current tale of woe will continue to be filmed because she, like ALL of them, enjoys the TLC money and notoriety much more than personal dignity.

  39. I haven't watched this train wreck for a couple of seasons because it has become so freakin' predictable. After season one, when we saw the first three wives interact with Kody but very little interaction with each other, I realized that polygamy is just another word for misogynistic abuse of women with hopes of keeping them from developing socially, emotionally, intellectually, and physically. The wives are in a constant state of PTSD where they suffer the pain of jealousy because men say that they must overcome the jealousy. So they are quiet about it because the men say they are not growing spiritually if they cannot handle the other wives' relationships with their husbands. This struggle bleeds over to their relationships with their children and they struggle with how to be better in bed, better in the kitchen, better moms....but they never achieve the perfection they strive to attain. They rarely have relationships with women outside of their extended families because who the hell has time for friends when they have to spend so much time manipulating their husbands and other wives. Sadly, a lot of the women have low emotional and intellectual IQs. When three women think Robyn is the voice of reason in their family, well, that speaks wonders of their own mental development. I also think it is very telling how Kody's wives are all obese. Christine has lost a little weight and looks so much better but she is still obese. Janelle is super morbidly obese and Meri and Robyn are gaining weight but still pushing those belly rolls in a way too small of a size pants. I still laugh at Christine's definition of the roles that each wife plays. Meri is the place where Kody went for peace and quiet since she only had one kid; Janelle is where he went for buddy conversation; Christine is where he went for the good cooking; but I don't believe Christine gave Robyn a role. Maybe Robyn was the wife who talked him into new ideas...something like that. They are sad, sad women who have wasted their lives and when the day comes that they are old and he is dead, Robyn will get the social security benefits and the other three will live on the fringe of their children's lives, hoping for some help should they need money. Kody's ego is so huge because of the wives and the kids but if he took a moment to look at his wives, I think he might say something like, dude, I should have spent a little more time finding one woman instead of rushing in the hoarde uteri.

      RunkRun,

Yup, exactly right !!....as evidenced by everything we are seeing with some of the Brown gals' mothers.
What a sobering finale to their lifetimes of paying homage to a man who only saw them as collateral for his self-advancement.

With this reality in mind and since she abdicated her rights as legal wife, it may be prudent for Meri to work on improving her relationship with Mariah.

  41. This episode of Maddie and Caleb needing their own bathroom and privacy is nuts. They have 2 bathrooms next to each other and one down the hall. They would never have made it with 1 bathroom, 3 bedrooms and 10 kids like I grew up. This is getting to where they think we are all stupid. 2. Christine is the only one trying. Janelle is laying low. Meri just cries on cue. Robyn chats away but says nothing. I admire Christine for singing, at least she is trying. At least she cares about every single person in this group thing they are trying to endure. You don’t have to have special skills to sing publicly, it’s famliy. She put effort into doing the best she could. Also don’t know the audio equipment and room might have made for a less that ideal taping. The other wife’s/wives say I, Kody is the worst. She says I and we and most importantly the word for. We are doing a dance for Logan or I am singing for Tony and Mkelty. I just can’t spell that girl’s name. Her presents that one Christmas were personal to each kid her’s and bonus where she made their name and then trait of them in the frame. I can’t find fault with Christine.
