  1. CJ, you wonder why Janelle would buy from Torrid instead of Meri’s inventory?

Could it be that Torrid offered a discount/freebie if she tweeted their name? And Meri and her LLR didn’t offer such a perk?
Or more likely, Janelle just isn’t going to shill for LLR or Meri.

    1. That's possible. But Janelle did make a point to say she wanted a more tailored look.

    2. Which could be a PC nicer way of saying that LLR is not tailored...at all !!

    3. I agree with CJ.
I think Torrid sells a variety ofi nexpensive clothes you won't feel too bad for only wearing once or twice.

But Luluwhatever sells pricey flimsy yoga pants to women who who don't do yoga.

And who wants to wear yoga pants to a wedding?

    4. Based on Jangle's body shape, apple, she needs more structured garments. A loose flowy tunic is not a good look for her.

  4. So, not a single one of the sister wives helped with making the flowers. What about the sisterhood where you are all the mothers? I guess that doesn't go far when tedious work is involved. That said, I am not sure I would want to make that many flowers either.

    2. It was so sad, nothing is too private, loaner uterus, coming out, painful teen homesickness, testosterone monster, public weigh ins, thigh stroking during labor and full on blue babies in distress. Horrible, despicable and some down right scary.

  6. Okayyyy!, Kody has a new word......Trite......he is so pleased with himself.....the wedding is feeling “trite” to him.
And he is pontificating on how marriage is a serious covenant......huh? Kody is lecturing the viewing world about how marriage is a sacred relationship between two people and shouldn’t be trivialized!
How could he keep a straight face saying this.....how?
The BS factor tonight is in epic decibels. Yikes!

    2. That is how I felt when he kept saying that Meri was thinking about the bed and breakfast and kept tossing around "Nostalgia" I am sure it is super rude of me but I feel like someone is feeding him 5 dollar words. This is the guy that put his "stink" all over the 4 property lots. He isn't what I would consider a thinker. I wonder if someone bought him a word of the day calendar.

  7. The rehearsal looks soooo cold and windy. Brrrrr....True enough, Mykelti, it is "your day" but since you invite people to join you---which means gifts---their comfort is important. Not that any of this matters more than a year later...

    1. People talk about how spoiled Mariah supposedly is... I didn't like her at first but being my mother's only child also I know how awful it is to be your mother's "one and only" especially when the father is less than perfect. Mykelti is far more spoilt than Mariah ever was.

      Delete
    2. Is it only that she is spoiled. She cares nothing for the comfort and actual physical well-being of others (her guests no less). That downright scares me. I know it is her wedding, but ...

    3. Some of this may be producers putting pressure on them to creat drama. There is a film crew there to film the rehersal and it has to happen somewhat like they expected to film no matter the conditions.

    1. Yeah, the guys dating on seeking sister wives while their wives are pregnant are slimy. I wonder how Ashley really felt being left at home with the kids while her husband went on a date. And the mattress fight, that was so painful. It was so pathetic that watching it brought me sorrow, mostly for April.

  11. Any storyline is better than the cat fishing one...I'll happily take Mykelti and Ten Taco Tony over that any day. I'll even happily relieve the whole Sisterwives' Closet Business Loan Search and the whole Family Business statement thing over that. The cat fishing was the most drawn out, boring, and irritating storyline I've ever seen on a reality show. If I didn't like Christine and Janelle so much I'd quit watching.

  12. Oh my goodness , does Christine really think the louder she yells is the way to overcome a language barrier. I'm getting sick of her fake laughter-yell. Her "WHAT!" Primordial scream and her telling a story at the top of her lungs.
And then if she wasn't loud enough she insist on singing that song about 3 octaves too high that make dogs howl.
Her "keep sweet" evolution of accepting Robyn has really left her so fake and irritating.
Oh how I long for the days of " Fen-nom-minal "
... compared to her outbust of fake laughter even before Kody finishes his sentence.
But it was refreshing to see her call Meri out on the 2nd house scenerio.

    1. Christine’s new, exhausting to watch exuberance is either medically generated, and if so, the dose should be regulated, or she is playing to her lord and master now that the pecking order in the harem has changed.
For long term viewers, the scenes of Christine’s utter humiliation at the hands of Kody and the tag-a-long therapist on a barren beach in Texas is unforgettable. So now we are to believe that she is reincarnated into a happy, over the top giddy Kody-plyg wife.
Just goes to show how readily these people will take on any producer-driven roles to keep that TLC cash flowing.

    2. Amused is right. CASH is all that counts. I was was trying to figure out WHY the legal Mrs. Coldsore would pack up a bunch of sick kids in bad driving weather to go out of state to a wedding. She is not in the wedding. The bride is not her daughter. It is a shame, but that is life with kids.
Then it hit me. No camera time no dough. I almost puked. And that coldsore didn't help.

    1. Exactly. I remember going to two outdoor weddings in particular- one on the Northwest coast in January and one in the Southeast in July- and all I remember is how miserable we were. Freezing cold and shivering during one, and so hot at the other that no one could stand to dance or enjoy the food. All those guests are going to remember is how uncomfortable they were during the ceremony!

  16. In the family of three wives and one roof and Kody does this too there is a family pot that gets decided on by Man. All that nonsense over mattress. The guy decides to reward some kids with new mattresses and it makes another wife jealous for her kids and another wife scared her kid will always get hand me downs. Why the heck do they make it be a problem with the women when it’s clear the husbands fault for having this ability to bestow mattress to some of his kids and not buy all of them mattresses or buy them specifically at a certain age. He is an instigator. The wives should be in charge of the money. He should just show up when it’s his turn to be with each of them and go to work. Again, no blessings. I feel bad for the third wife, she seems the most adjusted to modern life. Why did she marry him/them? There isn’t a man shortage. The first wife of the three just didn’t want him to leave and he put them all through this.

  17. As a supporter of Polygamy, when done CORRECTLY, both of these shows are getting under my skin. Christine used to be my favorite of all of Kody's wives until this overly dramatic acting she has been doing for the past few seasons. I never liked Robyn she always seemed like a manipulator and I see as the seasons have gone on I was correct. Sisterwives is more of the Robyn Show regardless of what the plot of each episode is supposed to be. As far as Seeking a sister wife I like the Snowden family, but it seems like Ashley is approaching this new relationship more cautiously than Dimitri and his overexcitement. The Briney family annoys me so much. I really wish Drew would be more of a man and not a scared instigating little boy when his wives are obviously ganging up on April. He just sits and watches while they berate her. The whole mattress fiasco did not have to be as half as dramatic as it was made to be. It's episode 3 and I am long tired of Auralee and her speech impediment. The other family, I can't remember their last name. Sharis seems way too excited and way too hurt when Melina did not come. It almost seems like she wants to date her along with the husband. I applaud Vanessa for being more standoffish towards this situation mainly because they both seemed too excited to not even way out the possible cons of this potential relationship with Melina.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I got to thinking about the Melina situation...Sharis and Vanessa most likely hate each other, like all the sister wives we've met on TV have seemed to. I am guessing Sharis is longing for a sister wife that SHE chose so she can have a best buddy and leave Vanessa out but also to increase her own position and prestige in the house...Sharis won't be last anymore because someone else will finally be below her.

On the Snowdens: He's a horn dog and I think she's a closeted lesbian. I do think she wants to try polyamory. I don't mean this as a slur, she seems like a game girl, ready to try cool stuff and this is a way she can try it. If she gets to be all involved in the courtship and gets a non-religious girl up for fun, she can try. If she doesn't like it, no big deal, she still has a live in Nanny that only costs her sex with Dimitry.

that Brinley guy turns my stomach. He fell in love with a butterfly type wife who loves to be adored and decided that he'd rather have sex with more women. In describing the switch to polygamy, she really sounded crushed by it. That said, it also sounds like she punishes the other two for existing because they are a constant reminder that her husband has the hots for women other than her.

The newest of them...Angela? I keep thinking of her as this great person voice of reason then I remember she decided to be a third wife on purpose and I wash my hands of all of them.

  19. Okay, so, the guitarist came in with all the right chords figured out from the recording Christine must've given him. He mentioned the recording. He undoubtedly practiced it in that key thinking she would be singing in that key. What a gentleman to move around to find her ever-shifting tonic. It does sound like she got better from lessons, her voice was clearer and more centered than before. However, she simply sang the song too high. I've been reading criticism of her voice teacher online but honestly she did improve a bit. It's not her NV voice teacher's fault that she panicked and sang too damn high in UT.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Mr Spock thinks she was singing equally too high at her lessons and mentioned that on the last thread. Still cannot fathom why the teacher could not hear and correct this by dropping her down a key or two. But have to applaud that Christine kept trying and was willing.

      Delete
    2. She may have been just as stubborn and insistent with her teacher as with the guitar. I am a music professor, I have taught lessons in my small and demanding studio for 17 years. I would absolutely not want anything to do with a student who is only going to come to lessons for a short period of time and who openly admits that they will only be practicing at the lessons. No thanks, go waste someone else's time.

      Delete
    3. Yes it was Christine who said she wanted to singk it that high for the weddingk. I'm sure the music teacher tried to convince her otherwise.

      Delete
    4. None of it made any sense. Christine reiterating several times in the last couple of episodes and also in the "behind the scenes" clip on TLC how she "likes to sing in a high voice." Rather than lowering the song to a range she could sing in, she stubbornly, stupidly, and very defensively continued to maintain that she "likes to sing in a high voice." Making it about herself. Even more ridiculous, the attempt to modernize the song and "change it up" by adding a guitar as accompaniment (which could have been great!) but if you are going to insist in singing in such a high old fashioned pitch - how does that style lend itself to a modern version of the song with a guitar as background??!!!

      Delete
    5. I'm a musician and musicologist. The key Christine ended up singing in was the FIRST KEY the guitarist tried to play for her. She just couldn't figure out the first note, so she thought it was too low.

  20. Sister Wives:

Okay, I have some questions that they haven't answered this season yet:

    1) So, Janelle's mom is living with her. Why aren't they talking about that?

    2) Wasn't Aspen living with Robyn? Is she still living with her?

3)Isn't Mindy living with Robyn? What is up with Robyn's sister Sara suddenly being there all the time along with her daughter? I have seen that little girl in past seasons too. Are they living with her too? If so, why aren't they addressing that too.

    4) Isn't Robyn's eldest a senior? Or did he already graduate? Are they going to say anything about that?

    5) I think that the reason that they haven't talked about Janelle's mom or Sara moving in, is because it is really yet another example of polygamy gone bad. After telling us how great it is, they don't want to follow up with all the drama.

  23. The #SisterWives Twitter feed includes links to stories that this is the last season, according to In Touch magazine. One of the quotes is, "Although the cast reportedly took a salary cut as part of a recent deal with TLC, that may not have been enough to bring on a 13th Sister Wives season.

"Kody told them he’d be willing to have the network slash his family’s pay from $180,000 for each adult to $180,000 total if it meant they could make Season 12," the source said. "He put everything on the line to convince them it could still work."

Do you believe the pay amount?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It would make sense for why they are suddenly coming at us with this talk of Vegas always being temporary. There is that end of the line. 180 k divided by what..around 25 people? so around 7 k per person to support with no other jobs I can see. Back to Utah to bleed that beast.

      Delete
    2. I believe those amounts. If they were nobodies, from what I've read elsewhere, I'd guess they'd get about $20 000 to start. If TLC aren't making money off them anymore (so-so ratings and advertising companies' dollars staying away) then the 180k figure total seems about right.

      Delete
    3. The homes could have been fully paid for. Yes taxes can be high but for all the years they have been on. I assume adult means polygamist. Course they seem to be supporting several extended family. Multiplied blessings? I wonder if kody were inspired to take a wife that didn’t want to be public if he would and keep it secret? Joseph Smith seemed to keep his extramarital affairs from his wife. I believe Emma. Her family continued the church he started back east and never had polygamy part of that denomination. I think official Polygamy was a Brigham Young thing. Easy enough for him to make records of sealings to avoid scandals and justify his own actions to fellow believers. They all needed a good math lesson.

I will watch the upcoming episode as I am very curious to see how the flying frisbee arch over the lovely couple comes off. Will there be any injuries? Will the couple get hit in the face? How many frisbees will actually make it over their heads?? I picture my parents as guests at this wedding and get a huge chuckle. Neither one can throw a frisbee for my dog, even after several practice throws. I can't imagine how this group of "400" guests will all come together at just the right moment in time to fling frisbees in a beautiful cascading arch.

I'm assuming he was making some kind of a living at it even before the show and the increased exposure. Didn't he win a car and a trip for his sales?

In the last episode I saw all those crates by Meri's door with her packages ready to go for all her LulaRoe customers. I bet that has to irk Robyn. I doubt Robyn has anywhere near the orders packaged to mail waiting by her door from the "My Sister Wives Closet" sales!! 32. Considering how often through the last 5 or so seasons the question of when would this show disappear into the infamous landfill of stagnant, played-out to death reality shows inevitably end up.......we shouldn’t be surprised at the cancellation news.
According to the info out there, SW was on the chopping block leading up to 2016. Luckily (was it?) Meri was hooked by a cat fisher and it bought them another season.
Just my opinion...,but what may have rung the final death knell for diehard viewers (snarkers too) were the inane scene and plot fillers TLC came up with for Kody and his harem to “act” to puff up the main catfisher line. None of them are adequate actors or engaging personalities enough to invite producer or viewer loyalty. Ratings matter since they produce the show’s revenue, and no doubt the sponsorship was down without the promise of ratings.
As for how the Browns will survive without the TLC income.....
Being seasoned plygs, they will find a way. Two of them are still “single” mothers with underage children, so bring on the government freebies. Sobbin is legal so she may have to be creative. Meri has obviously been getting her ducks in some sort of a row.
The real loser in the demise of the KODY show is Kody Brown !!!
    How will he survive??
We have watched his insatiable need for attention since the beginning. Early on in the show, we saw his high school classmates say he was an attention addict and show-off even then. Kody so thoroughly reveled in his talking heads that it became disturbing to watch him. Like watching a toddler thrilled with himself.

Beyond the reality that the show produced years of income, four large houses, countless trips, etc..it also enabled Kody Brown, father of 15, oops, make that 18, kids to spend all the show’s years with not “having to work”.....not having to get up every day and go to a job!! Not having to produce anything but hot air and talking heads for the cameras.
How will Kody Brown, harem master, egotist extraordinaire, lover of all that’s is easy and free.....how/where will he find another gig as financially and psychologically lucrative as this one was for him ???

    1. Thank you Amused. You said it perfectly! Definitely the Browns fell trap (as do so many other reality "stars") to having the production team obviously require them to reenact or stage too many of their faux dramas. As Amused said, they are just not engaging or good enough actors to pull it off. It was much better when it was natural. Even though the early episodes were definitely snark worthy at least they felt somewhat more natural. My objection to the last few years is how staged everything feels - and to use Kody's new word--TRITE. We have seen it all before!!! It's too bad in that I probably would have enjoyed Aspyn's wedding the most......

But wait....first we have Christine's solo, then Kody's solo, then both together doing Talking Head spots to fill up time for the epp reminiscing about the "dress" and their wedding.

Christine shares that her "gown" was anything but a "Say Yes to the Dress" situation since the dress was hastily stitched up by her mother. Christine claims she had no say in it at all.
(and damn, I do want to believe her on that part)
She also says that she had not seen or talked to Kody for some time before their seemingly quickie wedding. Kody admits that he was not really into it that day, remembers just going through the motions.
So after all those scenes of less than heart-warming, un-romantic nostalgia about their wedding day and about that awful potato sack dress, we then are treated to time-crunching scenes of watching close-ups of Christine tearfully and tentatively taking the scissors to the "dress."

Yep, THIS is the kind of producer-driven fake nonsense stuff that helped to kill the KODY show.

    3. Amused is so right about producer-driven fake nonsense. The Meri B&B story is incoherent. It's her treasured family home, but none of them were at all familiar with it. Kody never even saw it or knew about it before she wanted to buy it - despite 20+ years of marriage.

On the Girls' Trip, her mother said that she only visited it or her grandmother in the summer. She was familiar with it from the visits. But, in the last episode, she needs to live in her grandmother's house. None of Meri's sisters seemed aware of it at all. Nobody - Meri or sister wives - ever thought to visit it as a B&B.

And of course, Meri is so emotional about the potential buy, because that house or B&B is so nostalgic and important to her family. This is different and more desperate than the usual Brown revisionist history.

  33. I knew this was coming but I am bummed out. I have been slogging through this absurd vintage Mexican frisbee chessmen wedding thinking we would see them pull out stuff I wanted to see later. I wanted to see about this in church guy Aspen found. I assumed to keep it going they either needed a child to pick this life or to bring in another wife...and gosh darnit I feel like we were almost to the point where they were going to have to go one of those routes. Now I am just slogging through year old high pitched singing and entitled frisbee players and I know thats just the tired spinning out before they leave this wreck in a ditch and leave it to rust.

I guess Searching is sort of interesting. New people new problems. I wish that the my five wives family had kept going. They seemed a little more genuine in that they acknowledged from day one that there were tensions and problems instead of viewers slowly peeling the onion. Meh oh well.

  34. The idea of the Browns or some of the Browns leaving Vegas is piquing my interest. I would love to see Christine say in Vegas. Meri move to the old homestead. Janelle going wherever and Robyn an Kody riding off into the sunset. That ending would be fitting.

    ReplyDelete
  35. So Kody will have to get a REAL JOB!! LOL!
I would love to see what happens, who stays, who goes now that this show is ending. Well Meri already has her foot out the door but the other 3? They may have to get jobs too or they will go back on welfare.
"Life after Sister Wives"...great name for a follow up documentary or show.
Kody will no longer be a "rock star" except in his delusional egotistical mind. Oh to be a fly on the wall....

  36. Living in Vegas is no cheap venture. My sister paid over $600 a month for AC most of the year. Her place was a third of the size of the McMansions. Most service workers live way out in Henderson and drive into town to work. Auto insurance is outrageous due to the huge volume of world wide visitors in unfimiliar rental cars. Many areas are food deserts with only fast food and quicky marts to shop at if you don't have a car. Mass transit is messy and dangerous. If you do not have money, Vegas is not an easy place to live.
I doubt they paid for the homes and will probably walk away with no equity. The houses were built below "builder grade" with apartment quality finishes. The kitchen look nice but all flooring , construction, Fireplace, woodwork are cheap cheap cheap. Remember they financed $5.00 plastic mini blinds they could have bought at Walmart.
These people's ethics are to never pay for anything!!! Just to live on credit. So you know damn well they have only been paying interest these last few years. You know at least Janelle's and Christine's house is in pretty bad shape with all those kids.
The houses are valued at $720k-$750k but that is based on a much nicer build than their low grade finishes. So if they were to sell and leave Vegas I do not think they could get that much over what they owe. Unfortunately they will not be on air for us to see how this all pans out.
In my opinion those houses are not worth much at all. Houses this size in Summerlin are very nicely appointed usually. Pools, custom architecture, expensive landscaping, expensive fixtures and window coverings. The McMansion have none of these.

    1. Lisasumms, You have confirmed what I have thought all along about those homes. It wouldn't surprise me if all Kody's talk about going back to Utah is to save face when they lose the homes.I'm sure he sees the writing on the wall.

I wouldn't even be surprised if they lose them to foreclosure. How will they make the payments when their show ends?? My guess is exactly as you said - they have no equity in the homes - and who will want to buy 5 beat up subpar homes? (Good thing Meri has that she-shed beside the bed and breakfast!!)

    2. Lisasumms,

      Thx for the info.
The "back to Utah" talk in their TH's this season is significant since it has always been evident that once the filming is done in any season and that footage is assembled into the season's episodes, then the crew films the family's talking head spots to bolster the scenes after the fact. It's the same MO with any reality show.
For Kody to begin setting the stage for another exodus makes perfect sense if they knew or suspected that the show is not being renewed.

    3. Oh Big Sky, Amused, Mr Spock, Grifter Lives, CJ, Kms and all of you here... I'm already grieving the loss of this spot to spend my spare time, snicker, snark and enjoy every word you all type. The time on this blog has always been a very bright spot in my day. You are all so interesting and intelligent and oh so very witty. Thank you all for so many hours of entertainment! So for now I'm going to enjoy every little bit I can from your master minds.

Totally agree with the exodus theory, we have never heard anything, not one whisper of anything but Vegas is the land of milk and honey. Sure Browns, Vegas was always temporary, right, just like your vows to one another. Temporary until the next one comes along.

    4. Aww, lisasumms,
I feel it too, and about everyone you mentioned and others too......and you !!
You are right, we will enjoy our group and all the laughs and snarks as long as we can.

So......on to observing the comings and “goings” of Kody and Co !!

    5. Yes to all of the above comments.......but......WHAT ABOUT MERI'S WET BAR?? Was all those tears for nothing? Is Meri going to have it surgically removed and transported to the B & B to put pastries on?

      Delete
  37. Lisasumms, your comments are spot on. My son lived in Vegas for three years and agrees with everything you say. When I would visit him, I was overwhelmed by the traffic. Sure parking on the strip I free but the hometowners usually avoid the strip. I am so sure that the Browns will be moving and I hope that the children will be okay.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Here's the deal. I think that when the show ends, they will all load up and move into Meri's bed and breakfast, which is really a multi family home. Christine will only have three kids at home, Janelle will have maybe two but I think one, Meri none, and Robyn will probably have three maybe four. They will move into the B&B and live like they lived before the show...

  39. Now Maddie coming home makes sense, come enjoy the Vegas house and gravy train as long as we can. Quick sell that labor and delivery footage. Get some new born camera time while they are still here. Get some money in savings, quick, it's almost the Brown family swan song.

    ReplyDelete
  40. I agree they are going to sell the houses in Las Vegas and move, but I bet they won't all go to the same place. It looks like the show has been damaging to the togetherness they try to portray. Don't you think putting your family on TV, all the little innuendos and moments good and bad, would undermine it? Especially if it is a polygamist family, already rife with insecurities and jealousies among wives and children.I would be real surprised if they end up together on the same cul-de-sac again, let alone the same house. And those houses are going to need some work before resale- they look worn out to me. New carpeting, some paint, and who knows what else.

    1. Oh, Yes! The camera always reveals the feelings people think that they are managing to conceal. I learned this from the first reality show, when being in the eye of the camera caused the Loud family to become demoralized, depressed and divorced.

    1. Not sure if they have sold Lehi house, but that scenerio sounds like something Robchin would approve... park the old mares at the Lehi house in their old 3 apts and Robchin gets her own lavis house alone.
You know just like when they first met.
But now with TLC money, Robchin can buy a whole lot of house in Utah.

    2. It’s just insulting and ridiculous how carefree this show is with rewriting history!
Sobbin exclaims last year or so in a couch chat that Kody “always” wanted to live in Vegas, which effectively then blew the lid off the truth of the manic exodus to flee from the Utah Plyg police. That bit of revisionist BS was ridiculous and stupidly comtrived enough, but NOW we hear that it was only to be a ‘temporary’ hiatus from the big bad, Utah law.
And so..... Now they all (except for Christine) are itching to get back to plyg un-friendly Utah!?
If any of this version is true, the the only conclusion to be had is that the deal with the McMansions was that once they “ran the TLC table......a little Vegas humor......and the show finally played its last winning hand.....they would pack up the harem and head back to Lehi. Why else wouldn’t they have sold Lehi back then for needed cash/down payments in Vegas?
Uhhh, these people are such scammers!!

of course blew the lid off the desperate fleeing from

    4. So funny, Amused...run the table...spoken like a high stake gambler. Too true, I totally remember Robchin telling us how much Kody has always loved Vegas. I remember the weekend flee to Vegas safe house disclosed to the kids lives a day before the manic packing. I remember how Kody has always sold us Vegas by saying that with crime and prostitution in Clark county that polygamy is way down the totem pole of crime. That no one cares and they are at peace there.
NOW, we are spoon fed that it was always their intention to move back to UT, WHAAAT?...screamed like Christine.
Which is it? I mean couldn't they just say, you know after living in Vegas we miss home, our values don't match sin city. Awe, but you see their values match Vegas exactly. A complete oasis of lies, cons, scams and shell games.
Yep that city pretty much describes FLDS founder Joseph Smith. The cons this guy ran to womanize and develop a money grubbing cult into a sanctimonious religion. There is a reason why they call their leaders the prophet (PROFIT).

    1. Yes, I'd love to know how Janelle found herself in a Korean bath house and why?
I mean they all act like such prudes, why it was just a few years ago they bared their arms. I cannot possibly think how wandering around a bath house would fit into their " modesty" lifestyle.

    3. Korean bath house? What did Mr Spock miss?

      Delete
    4. I don't want to think about Janelle wandering around the Korean bath house! Her dirty bare feet and talking heads are too much visual for me.

Here's what a horrible strategist Kody is - He's losing the show when the most intriguing storylines are approaching:
      - Aspyn's engagement to an AUB boy to reinforce Kody's religious-centric life and persecution, according to him.
      - Christine's reaction to Aspyn's engagement announcement contrasted against her reaction to Mykelti's engagement announcement. I expect unmedicated elation for the former, with any reference to the family wreath (but for Meri's brother and Janelle) disguised as approval of his familly. This also allows for cross-promotions with TLC's Seeking Sister Wives, since the fiancee is the brother of one of the sister wives there.
      - Mykelti's juvenile reaction to the response to her sister's engagement - it will have to be more self-sabotaging and detrimental than her marrying Tony. (She'll have to declare she's pregnant or taking her own sister wife while Maddie's giving birth or at Aspyn's wedding.) But, we
risk Christine's endless repentance and apology to Tony, and we'd be subject to more singing for proof that she accepts him.
      - Meri's full-time move to her B&B, where all her guests give on-camera spots to declare that they're fine with polygamy. That allows Kody (and Robyn) to show up without needing Therapist Nancy to be around Meri.
      - The drama or alienation of their separate lives in Utah, since Meri would be at her B&B, Mykelti in St. George (Robyn's hometown), Mariah at Westminster and possibly Aspyn in Lehi.
-Mariah's graduation from college and acceptance or abandonment of grad school, while remaining alienated from Meri
-Robyn's oldest daughter, grasping for that centerstage, claims that she inherited her mother's extra long legs that only Victoria's Secret can drape and her other mothers' love of lip-synched choreography, pursues her Vegas showgirl dreams. And, of course,
      - Kody finds a fifth wife, but this time, nobody cares, spun as polygamy is acceptable thanks to his vision.

Given their pace, these storylines would be dragged out for years.

    1. The above post had me thinking, "what is our Mariah really up to?!" Very BORED today so I thought I would summarize for everyone. The internet has her doing all kinds of things (from still a student at Westminster to attending grad school---neither are true!) I was certain we had discussed previously on our blog that she had graduated from college because we commented that her graduation fell at the same time as Logan's and Kody chose to attend Logans....I looked to her instagram and twitter and the following info is based strictly on Mariah's own posts.

Mariah is sharing an apartment in Salt Lake City with her girlfriend, Audrey--sidenote, Meri gifted them a vacuum cleaner for Christmas and apparently, Audrey was very delighted with it!
Mariah is currently in the process of applying for Masters of Social Work graduate programs on the east coast.

      It is not clear exactly what her job position is but she continually posts about children at a school giving her hugs, making comments to her, etc. Last Sept. she posted, "It's been a long week after starting two new jobs but I'm grateful to be working in my community" and a month later in October she posted;
"I love my job so much. Never in my life did I think I would want to work with kids & now I am & it’s perfect & I’m living"

That's pretty much it for Mariah; lots of posts thanking her girlfriend for changing her life, etc. etc. some immature posts through the last year about getting drunk on different occasions and multiple posts devoted to Oprah (who Mariah greatly admires and met when she was 14).

      Delete
    2. For all their current differences, Meri and Mariah do share some similarities. As far as we know, Meri also worked with kids in some capacity. Whether she was a volunteer or was paid, full time or part time was never made quite clear. Meri apparently also loved the feedback and kudos from the kids on the job.

Obviously, Mariah is as headstrong as Meri when it comes to getting what she wants. Both of them do appear to be self-centered, but also willing to venture into the unknown.

Meri did agree to relinquish her legal status and then dabbled in online chatting. (we know how that worked out)
She set "herself" up in LLR and not under the ID of the harem.
She spotted the B&B, and went out of the box to pursue it.

Mariah has chosen a different personal path too.
Perhaps in time, both of them will find a mid ground that is safe and solid as mother and daughter. They could be a good team.

      Plus..
They do seem to share the same tendency to like using a sharpie for "interesting" eyebrows.

  45. Thank you for the info, Big Sky. It sounds like Mariah is doing well and has grown quite a bit.
