Vacation's Over, I'm Baaaaaacccckkkk!!! September 17th, 2016

Good Morning Everybody!!!
I'm baaaaacckk!!! Yep, I took a small summer vacay...ok a rather long summer vacay from everything that was remotely associated with Polygamy, the Browns, Utah, and Mormons.

Judging from a few minutes of skimming through Meri's Robyn's Janelle's Kody's and Christine's twitters, I didn't miss much.
So here's some of my thoughts from this summer...
On the Presidential race, I believe that Donald Trump actually is a Democratic operative whose main mission is to get Hillary Clinton elected.
A "high class" version of Myrtle Manor and Honey Boo Boo
On the TLC side, I was shocked and amazed to read that TLC has dipped it's mighty toes into the scripted drama pool with its series Too Close for Comfort....at least I think that's the name of the show. Anyway, I saw that Janelle plugged it. Does this signal the end of those cheesy "reality" shows TLC has become infamous for the past decade? Oops, my bad, the show's title is Too Close to Home!

The Summer Olympics were fun, except for that dumb Ryan Lochte escapade. Like, was it more obvious the dude got the hell out of Dodge before the Rio de Janiero authorities could arrest him? Although I had to chuckle a bit (okay, a LOT) when the local cops said they knew Lochte was lying because if the robbery had been real, the perps would done more than just stick a gun to the guy's forehead. They would have used it and would have stolen his watch, wallet, and cellphone, too,  thank you very much.
Kody and Krew practicing for his DWTS debut
Much to my dismay, Lochte is now on Dancing with the Stars. Well, at least DWTS didn't choose Kody Brown this season. Looks like a disgraced Olympic swimmer trumps (ha!) an aging, balding polygamist who is actually practicing monogamy with his 2nd legal wife Robyn. Ho hum....
And on the topic of monogamy, wouldn't it be sweet if the Court rules that for all intents and purposes, Kody proved his preference for monogamy when he divorced Meri to marry Robyn, and that he lives with Robyn in a monogamist marital relationship (hint: The Princess Ari-Ola and King Sol as proof of having marital sexual relations) and merely visits/interacts with his 3 other baby mamas and their offsprings only when necessary...usually for their show.

Well, that's all for now. I just wanted all of you to know I hadn't dropped off the edge of the Earth, not yet anyway!

I've missed you and your sparkling wit a lot! I am so over the Browns but your laughter and the group here keep me coming back.

  3. Was in the grocery store and saw the Browns on the cover of a magazine that proclaimed their split and the wives dating? What's that about?

  5. Great to have you back. I hope your vacation was restful and restorative.

So TLC is trying out scripted drama. I hope they've picked from a whole new pool of producers and writers because the 'talent' they've previously utilized for their scripted reality shows has been terrible.

    1. Ha! Those Browns don't need a script. They just need to stop portraying the BS that Polygamy and Kody are so wonderful. If they would show the truth the ratings would jump!

  6. Thanks for coming back. Since you been gone, it has been a lonely internet. For awhile I thought you abandon the Browns, polygamy, and this blog. I had to find my snark in other places.

I as well hope the judges see that Kody doesn't have a stable family to even begin to speak about decriminalizing polygamy. I mean, hell one wife tried to run off with a "millionaire" who claimed to be both Catholic and monogamous. That's saying a lot about Kody's relationships.

Now Janelle is running a different scam (strivewithJanelle.com). Not really sure if she is losing weight because she is so over Kody or trying to lose weight (be slim and fit like Robyn was during the early episodes of Sister Wives) so that Kody can be all over her like he was with Robyn. Either way, no mention of her lovely, supportive sister wives and polygamous husband on her site.

    All in all, WELCOME BACK!!!!!!

  7. I know I am super late to this party, but I just started watching Big Love. Do the Browns honestly think that no one would notice that they are ripping off the story line from the fictional show???

  8. I find it very telling that the Sister Wives Facebook page keeps advertising other TLC shows instead of having much to say about this one

    1. I also find it telling that Janelle has launched a solo project. Historically, she has always been the most concerned about their finances. Reading between the lines, I would say she is struggling to find other ways (scams) to produce some income as she knows the ship is going down.
Between selling real estate, this new venture, and the other nonsense (selling water, peddling storage containers--I don't even think I will include Sister Wives Closet as that can't be counted as a going concern) maybe Janelle thinks she can actually hang onto her house if the show is put down.

    2. Someone from the PTV SW forum is going to take one for the team and attend the first STRIVE event in Las Vegas on October 1st. A full report will follow, if she doesn't die from boredom first! It will be interesting to see what kind of scam this is, since the Browns don't know how to do anything else.

    3. Previously TV Sister Wives forum. The PTV founders were also the original Television without Pity founders. They sold the site and when TWoP folded a couple years ago, they stepped up and opened shop as PTV. The forum rules are very similar to Cynical Jinx's rules. The SW forum is fun to read, like this one.

    4. I will give Janelle some props for trying. I've gotten the feeling from the last several seasons that Janelle is done sharing any of her money with her fellow sister wives. When the show gets cancelled it will be interesting who keeps their house the longest.

The entire STRIVE thing is ridiculous though. She had a great chance to lose weight, and while she lost some she didn't lose enough and it's all come back on.

      Delete
  9. I thought Janelle was more sensible than this. If she thinks her new financial scheme with S.T.R.I.V.E will rake in enough greenbacks to keep her discount mansion from being foreclosed upon due to cancellation of Sister Wives, she had best think again. Her personality and temperament, along with her affect and demeanour, are not, and never can be, inspiring or uplifting. Desperation makes people grasp at straws.

    1. http://www.strivewithjanelle.com/about/

I think this is a wellness/fitness pyramid scheme that also just signs up folks as clients. There is a place to click if you are interested in becoming a "coach", which is what I think Janelle is. So another MLM scam like the green goo company.

      Delete
    2. I am sorry but I would not buy anything relating to health and fitness from Janelle. She is not someone that I will STRIVE to be. Based upon what we have seen on the show, she is not a good spokesman for this company. You are right, just another scam to try and make money from their delusional fans. She must be banking on her reality show fame.

      Delete
    3. You would think if you're going to try and sell something health and fitness related you would attempt to lose weight first, no? All of the wives and Kody have weight to lose and each season they seem to get progressively larger.

I wouldn't buy something about being fit from someone who is not. Anyway, good luck to them.

      Delete
    4. Janelle's new venture is yet another example of the Brown's being a day late and a dollar short in all their get rich quick schemes. Frankly, STRIVE should have been the family business instead of Robyn's MSWC hobby business. Back then, the show was still popular with a sizable audience...now, the show is barely limping along with half the audience. Is Janelle so delusional she really believes people are willing to pay $75 to mingle with her? Sad...because this new venture has Kody's money grubbing fingerprints all over it.

  11. This feels like a class reunion! Welcome back, CJ and everyone!

While I give Janelle credit for at least trying to get out there and earn a living, I agree with others who have already posted that she lacks the demeanor and the entrepreneurial skill to make STRIVE a success. From my experience, it's only the founders and early adopters at the top of the food chain who make any real money in the MLM realm. Though she's got a filming schedule to think about, too, it seems to me that Janelle would be more likely to earn a living for herself and her kids (let Meri, Christine, and Robyn fend for themselves!) if she put her accounting degree back to work and found a 9 to 5 gig. Even something seasonal, like H & R Block, would give her a real shot at financial solvency. Alternatively, she could do bookkeeping at one of the casinos--and they'd probably give her medical for herself and the school age kids. Why do these people seem to insist on taking the path of least resistance, even if it doesn't lead where they want to go?

  12. Welcome back and I hope your vacation was full of great fun and a lot of rest. Poor, poor Trump...what does one say about a man who is fat but doesn't know it, who thinks we buy the comb over, and who thinks orange is the new white....poor old white rich man. But, what's really important here isn't the collapsing of the patriarchy or the declining state of the GOP but the transparency of the Brown Clan....oh my is it ever easy to see what's on the little minds of the big thinkers in that family...poor, poor people are now relying on Janelle to come up with the next money making scam. The Brown's taste of living high on the hog has created a panic by the only one in their family who seems concerned about their "finite" resources and as a result her mind is trying to capitalize on their stardom to make some easy and fast cash. So, against my better judgment, I scrolled over to her little site to check out what snake oil she is selling and low and behold it's no different than their trying to sell polygamy as a logical condition for men and women....here's the deal, Janelle...if you want us to believe something is so good and too good to be true, we must see evidence. I would think you would have learned from the failure of the show to prove how great sharing a man is for you and your sister wives....but all we saw was sadness, neglect, jealousy, and favoritism....well, we saw more but that's another response for another day. If we are going to sucked into your life changes thing...improving ourselves on our dime...we need to see how improved you are so let's review. You've had some pretty amazing resources such as gyms, and personal trainers and yet you have not consistently lost weight nor have you kept off the weight you lost. I, on the other hand, have neither gym nor personal trainer but do have motivation and I've lost 20 of the 25 pounds I was asked by my doctor to lose. See, it's like this: at my yearly physical, my doctor said, you really need to get that knee replaced but I'd like to see you lose about 25 pounds. I think you'd feel better. I say, okay. He says, maybe you can do pool aerobics and I say, I'll check into it. I didn't want to pay to walk around in a pool that is full of chlorine and probably other folks piss so I started a routine of going to the mall and walking...every single evening. Sure, it's not fun to leave the comfort of my house....put on a bra....brush my hair...and go walk around the mall without shopping but I did it and slowly, over the last few months, the pounds dropped. Oh, I forgot, I had to cut down on those foods that are known to add pounds...candy and junk foods....yep. That's how it works....less food in and more energy out and pounds come off. But you, Janelle, have little to show in terms of actual actions other than some long forgotten blog of your attempt at transformation and a couple of photo shopped face shots. I doubt you have anything inspirational or motivational to offer because unlike others who make choices to be weightless or lifestyle gurus, you lack charisma. Of all the wives, you are the most lethargic and the least interesting. In fact, you seem a little slow on the uptake...which makes me wonder where you earned your accounting degree....until I retired, I taught at an R1 university and I know accounting students are not only smart but motivated...I find neither of those characteristics in you. As Christine would say, Soooooorrrrrrrry but that's how I feel.
But, I'm glad CJ is back.

  13. runKodyrun I applaud your weight loss! That's amazing! That makes me think of the Joel Osteen radio show I heard when this guy needed to lose weight and his trainer told him to lose 10 pounds so he did. The next time he saw him he told him he needed to lose 10 more pounds. This went on week after week, month after month until he lost 80 pounds and he finally asked "why didn't you just tell me I needed to lose 80 pounds to begin with?" And the trainer said "because if you knew that in the beginning I was afraid you would lose your motivation."

Janelle sees that she has a LOT to lose so she just never sticks with it. She takes the easy way out. I have a member of my family like that. She wants a pill or a surgery instead of healthy eating. Even though she has SEEN someone close to us have surgery lose weight AND gain it all back because they didn't change their diet. She just doesn't exercise or change her eating habits and continues to gain more weight month by month.

And we can't say anything to her because, well, it just makes it worse. There's no intervention for that like there is everything else.

And that’s what I’m concerned about. I want to know…and I’m scared is it going to take her away from mswc is it going to take her away the family? Is it going to take her away from me? Is it going to make her….develop…is it going to take her away and, and she is going to develop this life outside the family and, and then she’s not really a part of us anymore and because it would be very easy for her to do. It would be very easy for her to just, like, disengage from us it’s not easy being in a plural family, the relationships are much easier outside our family but they are not as rewarding either."

    1. The ONLY person getting any kind of reward from polygamy is the current Mrs Kody Brown. Her entire speech was about her, and I always suspected she views her "SisterWives" as either babysitters (Meri and Christine) or family breadwinner (Janelle). Meanwhile, she plays at being a "businesswoman" while allowing her hubby Kody to drive MSWC totally into the ground like his other business ventures. Like I've said before, as soon as the TLC gravy train stops Robyn will drop Kody quickly and move on to her next soulmate

Meri's trolls seem to have been called off by Meri or have just given up in defeat or have completely lost interest and have faded away. If I recall correctly their appointed mission was to bring down Meri's nemesis and educate about bullying and on line deception. Anyone know why they failed? If you take a quick scan of those so-called followers, a majority of them appear to be bought, in other words, purchased from companies that guarantee x number of followers for a fee. If you go thru the twitter timeline, practically none of the followers interact with Sam the Sham or contribute to "his" timeline.

Meri's trolls seem to have been called off by Meri or have just given up in defeat

The main whistleblowers realized early on that Sam the Sham (and the real perpetrator behind the catfishing) relished the notoriety and attention. Once Meri became aware she indeed was being catfished, and word got out about the catfisher and her true identity, their job was done. Those websites are still up, detailing the true nature of the person who catfished Meri. In my opinion it was the Johnny come Latelys who kept Sam the Sham going long past "his" 15 minutes of fame was up by directly interacting with "him" long after it was necessary.

It appears Meri has taken the high road and gone on with her life. And it's not surprising to note that Meri is still following several of the early twitter accounts that made public she was being catfished by an online predator.

  17. In response to your question the trolls had a lot of infighting and a large disagreement and have lost focus. Their victim education sites are now defunct. Many were attacking one another and putting personal info on twitter to harass one another, making threats, etc. So the trolls failed. 19. Thank you CJ for the reply and information. Meri, taking the high road so that she could get on with her life, ordered her trolls to stand down so that those on the other side could carry on doing what they are doing in peace also. That makes perfect sense, but I continue to wonder why she would wait over a year to do that. "Those websites are still up, detailing the true nature of the person who catfished Meri", I've looked but could only find one old out of date one by a guy named nickoconner. 20. the troll sites are down (we call these people trollS), instead they replaced the sites with a count down banner because the group and the members are all fighting and breaking up over inside fights. no one is focusing on the catfisher now so she's free to scam and continue catfishing, maybe she cannot be stopped.

  21. Has anyone else been noticing Meri's frequent posts' on Twitter lately. She's actively trying to get "fans" to guess what she's up to (like, just tell us already...). And apparently, the sister wives will all be at Janelle's S.T.R.I.V.E. launch this weekend.

Christine was recently in Southern Utah with her 4 youngest kids. She looks exactly like she does on the show. Her kids are very well mannered and polite too. However, her minivan was pretty banged up. It had scratches, dents, and missing hubcaps. It was obviously hers because it had Nevada plates and the MSWC paw print sticker on the back. I was surprised to see her van in such bad shape. I would have thought that with the kind of money they appear to be making (and spending), her vehicle would be in better shape.

I love this blog and am anxious for more posts to be published!

  23. Interesting that Kate Gosselin has announced TLC renewed her show and the next season will start in January. Doesn't bode well for Sister Wives. Since they missed the fall lineup, they have to desperately hope for a reboot in January. I would think TLC would be confirming their Jan. lineup by now...if they are going to renew the show to come back next Jan. or even spring, wouldn't they have the plans finalized by now?
TLC wouldn't want to miss filming those exciting Brown family moments that happen in the fall - like Janelle launching her own business this weekend! Maybe the individuals mentioned upstream on the thread who are going to attend and report back, can also let us know if it looked like the event was being filmed by their production crew.

I find it hard to believe that she wants us to think that this is something that she has come up with. She claims that there was nothing out there for a person like her. WTF. Is she for real. There are tons of weight loss programs on the market. Diet and fitness is a multi billion dollar business. How many women are going to want to follow her advise. I am sorry but Janelle is the last person that I would go to for health and fitness advise. In the interview, she seems bigger. I am sure that this is another one of their money making projects. I wonder how much money they want people to invest in Thrive. I really don't see this as supporting the whole Brown clan. It may help out her household but not the others. Good luck to her. As for Kody and the rest of his harem I hope the show gets cancelled.

    1. Agreed. Why would anyone see her as some kind of role model to emulate? She's in a dysfunctional and abusive relationship, and despite years of having what should have been major motivation (appearing on TV for heaven's sake) and having the money for a personal trainer, she's made no significant improvements to her health and fitness. Nothing out there for someone like her?-- is she SO unique that none of the fitness and health regimes work? Maybe because it takes a huge amount of effort and she prefers gimmicky drinks etc. to do the work for her. Just another Brown scam to make the fans part with their money in another beloved MLM get-rich-quick scheme.

  25. I looked online at what Thrive is. It's supplements and patches not approved by the FDA. They cost a lot each month. Something like up to $300.00 or more per month. They want people to buy all the components of Thrive. Janelle needs her fans to buy a lot in order for her to see any type of profit. I wonder how long Janelle has been on this. Maybe she is waiting to start tomorrow. This would explain why she has not lost weight. Based on what I read on the Thrive website, this is not anything that I would take. I wonder what makes Janelle think that Thrive is the answer. Heck, she had a personal trainer, access to gym equipment and counseling. This is way more than what the average dieter has at their disposal. Not ready to take this journey with her. Would love to know how many people show up just to see Janelle and maybe the others.

When I looked at her website a few weeks ago, it wasn't clear yet what she was going to try to hawk. I was certain it would be some scam/pyramid scheme and she didn't disappoint!

Supplements not approved by the FDA are a perfect fit to go along with the Brown's water selling nonsense. This could really be a win/win for Janelle. If she finds enough crazies to buy the supplements she can also convince them to wash it down with the water. Maybe she can surpass Kody as the top water seller in their family and she can win a new car--and give her old one to Christine, who from the sounds of the above post, could use an upgrade!

    1. Toodles from PTV here. I was at the event.

I got there right at 10:00 and Aspyn checked me in. Kody was standing by the table wondering where everyone was. They had about 2 pages of sign in names. Christine and Meri were there too. Gabriel was at the t-shirt and what not table. I saw one lady buy two $45 swag bags and that was it.

I went in and sat down. Altogether, there about 20-25 people there and I think about half were friends and family of the trainers. The room held about 250. Then they started a half hour late.

Kody spoke first and introduced Janelle. He said she is athletic. Okayyy. And did you know he has 4 wives?

Janelle spoke next. She is on the heavy side. She was nervous and I would be too. It was not a hard sell. She talked about coaches, accountability partners and community boards. They are going to hire coaches all over the world!! Her niche is trying to help people that don't know where to start. Stuff the infomercial people have been selling for years.

The coaches talked for about 5 minutes each. Only one was a dynamic speaker. Then Janelle closed and said to mingle and that if you signed up for their online coaching you would get a discount.

They had a camera there, but I don't think it was a TLC camera. I've never seen one, but they didn't have any tv lights or sound equipment.

I had to go to work after the presentations, but Kody was walking around all puffed up.

Meri did not look orange. Aspyn and Christine have beautiful hair.

That's about it. I think they have a huge uphill battle and a lot of hard work to make this a go. We all know the Brown are not up for that.

      I guess we will see.

    5. FROM TOODLES-you're welcome. Kody is taller than I thought he would be. I think Janelle is a shill for this STRIVE company.
When this first came up, they had 200 free tickets, 1300 $5 tickets and 100 $75 tickets. Of course I had a free ticket. I had the same question about the money, because that room was not cheap. They had logo t shirts, water bottles etc. I don't take the paper and I didn't see any ads anywhere. I saw in the fb page that Janelle was on a local TV show talking about the event. That show starts at about 4:30 am. I don't know who is putting up the cash to get this off the ground. The company that was handling the tickets is a professional company too. I thought tlc would be involved, but it didn't look like it to me. The person that did the live stream was doing it from her phone. The event was pretty much a dud.

  33. Toodles, many thanks for your observations and insights on Janelle's STRIVE meeting. Two perhaps significant and relevant factors that you touched on were Robyn's absence and the glaring no-show of TLC crew and cameras. Maybe there will be a divorce and a cancellation as the tabloids have speculated for quite some time now. I was very pleased to learn of Meri abandoning the skin coloring of the past and reverting to her natural shade of skin tone. Now if she would upgrade the mess on her head, she actually could be an attractive girl if she paid attention to better wardrobe choices too. With the potential cancellation of the show, Meri may be on a manhunt because there will be no reason to maintain the Polygamy ruse any longer.

  34. If the sister wives had a PR person, they would get Janelle in touch with Weight Watchers or Nutrisystem, or maybe one of the other smaller enterprises. She would be paid for her weight loss, and have support from someone outside of her family.

I don't know anyone who has done Nutrisystems, but several that have done the Weight Watchers point system, and many have lost weight while on it. Not all have kept it off, but the same is true for some people I know that have had gastric bypass.

But I expect that Janelle would refuse to do anything that may make her look at her life and see what is making her eat excessively, because she knows it will be polygamy.

If she gets the dead tooth taken care of she will be ready to date successfully once she feels it's the right time to do so again. I just wish her first attempt to escape had turned out better for her.
OK, as to Robyn. When was the last time she tweeted anything affectionate about Kody or was seen lovingly in a photo or in public with him? Things that make you go hmmm. I agree, though, the baby may have been sick, simple as that. It's also a convenient excuse to avoid having to be around him if the divorce is proceeding as reported.

  38. I am trying not to be too harsh, but I don't understand this Strive with Janelle company. Is Janelle really a person you look at and think yep she's got it together, and is striving? I'm sorry but she is currently obese. On the show when she was working with a trainer, who is not involved in this company, she started to lose weight. Then she started packing on the pounds again, when she stopped. So I don't see the Strive with Janelle coaches as inspirational when their famous current client, Janelle is obese. Janelle also goes to family a d individual therapy with a licensed therapist we see on the show, but she's peddling good mental health from her strive coaches? Huh? The company just does not make sense with the Janelle we see on sister wives.

Here is a quote taken straight from her website, "STRIVE with Janelle is for anyone who may have lost hope of regaining any kind of mobility, or having a better quality of life, physically and mentally." So maybe we are to take her literally at her word that she is in a state of lost hope! I think her angle is going to have to be that she is starting at the very beginning and she will have to hope her audience overlooks or isn't aware that she has started and stopped improving herself many times before. I don't know what other tactic she can take when she clearly is not what the end result should look like?!

  39. WTF. Is Meri now a consultant for Lularoe. Now she is selling leggings. How does she think that selling over priced leggings will support her and her neighbors. Janelle has Thrive and now Meri with the leggings. Your butt is too old to be selling leggings. Get a real job. All of you especially Kody. What to you want to bet that Kody has his ass somewhere in these ventures. He needs to get off of whomevers sofa he is currently residing and get a real job and take care of your kids. This family will do anything besides getting a 9-5 JOB. Has anyone seen Meri's Twitter post. Hell you don't even see the leggings. How can you sell a product that no one can see. This legging market is too saturated with other women trying to earn a buck. What will Meri do to stand out. Maybe they think that their fans will yet again open up their pocketbooks and support Kody and his harem. Selling anything is hard work. Meri in order to be a success at this you will need to leave the cuddle sac and actually communicate with people. You cannot delete people off your FB or Twitter. I wonder what Christine and Robyn will come out with. SMH.

  40. OMG, the Brown Clowns are perpetually in a state of adolescence. They jump from one illusion of grandeur to another trying to find a way to make money for the least amount of effort. First, we had the most obnoxious scribbler of fine iconic crap. Poor thing thought her creative juices were all that she should contribute to the online selling of crap. Because the four women cannot cook together or live in the same house, you can bet your ass that the other three had no intention of putting enough effort in the JOOOOLRY business for her to achieve success. And she was too damn dumb and lazy to put the extra effort needed. Then, of course, there was poor Janelle wanting to open a gym but backed down. Her idea of contributing to their ever dwindling finite resources ended with her attempts at a regular job; albeit a half-assed attempt to sell real-estate. Then we have all the shout outs from restaurants, stores, and other establishments, hoping to get free or cheap crap....they never learn. Of course Janelle is now doing her delving into life style change crappola and Meri...bless her heart...she is trying to attach herself to an already successful venture...selling leggings. The only one who has not tried her hand after realizing real estate wasn't for her is Christine and, of course, the bloating fool....What the hell is wrong with these people...do they think they are so famous that just their name will cause massive profits to anything they touch? The show will end...I was shocked it is getting one more season but soon the Browns will be forced back into the workplace and none of them have the skills or education to make enough money to support themselves, pay their house payments, etc. That is when the fun will begin...I, for one, cannot wait to see Kody's arrogance brought down a peg or two.

  41. Please say it's not so. I wanted the, to be done. Stick a fork in it already. Even the people on this blog have lost interest in the Browns. I come here for the snark and the fact that I don't like polygamy and wish that these women would wake up and realize that they have a voice and don't need to share a man. It just drives me nuts when they used to gush over the idiot Kody. I hope that the wedding in December is not just for ratings. Because when the show and money are gone, will they still want polygamy. I think not.

    1. YES!! I remember this also and thought the exact same thing. Completely disingenuous that Meri is now hawking leggings! Now if Christine hawked the leggings it might make more sense.

    2. The Brownies are known to be liars. Meri wrote in their book:

“I would never trade my experience with sister wives and the wonderfully large and dynamic family we share for the simplicity of monogamy. I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.”

Yet, when she thought she roped in a billionaire who wasn't only handsome but also monogamous, she was ready to ditch Kody, her sister wives, and polygamy for a monogamous lifestyle. And had the nerve to play the victim when she found out she got herself a catfish.

      Delete
    3. But Meri IS a victim. As a victim of polygamy she watched her husband bring fertile women into her legal marriage and get those women pregnant. I'm not surprised by her rationalizing her pain by describing monogamy as a simple way of life. Monogamy is simple when compared to polygamy, and Meri is now the poster child for how women of polygamy are brainwashed into believing how polygamy is superior way of life and how they have no choices in reality. Yes she was manipulated by a catfish, but we need to understand the environment Meri was living in at that time. Meri said in her book that Robyn came into the family at a time Meri's relationship with Kody was at an all time low. She had no choice but to accept her legal husbands desire to bring yet another fertile woman into her family. It wasn't until she was coerced into giving up her legal wife status to Robyn that she let down her guard by believing she was in a relationship with a wealthy man. A wealthy man who paid attention to her and made her feel special again. The catfish who was really a professional con artist took full advantage of Meri. The only thing that prevented Meri from being the catfishers next victim was that Meri was a reality star and the relationship played out in public on social media. It wasn't Meris family that saved her from ruining her life, it was those naysayers on Twitter that brought out into the open the catfishers past victims showing Meri she was being deceived. So yes Meri was indeed a victim, first a victim of polygamy and second a victim of a con artist. We shouldn't blame the victim. We should show compassion so she understands she does not need to suffer being ignored by her former husband any longer and that her true soul mate may still be waiting for her.

      Delete
    4. I refuse to ever believe Meri is or was a victim of polygamy or the catfish. If at any point she was unhappy with polygamy, she is free to leave (which she did by trying to land herself a rich man. This leads me to believe Meri is too lazy to leave and get a job. She wants a man to care for her even if it is a polygamous man. She doesn't like working.)

Additionally, if she wasn't on social media flirting (she said before she enjoys flirting with other men), there would have been no way in hell anyone could have fooled her the way the catfish did. Right after the catfish thing, she was right back on twitter flirting with other men. NOT WHAT VICTIMS DO!!!!

      Delete
    5. I'm with you, Jessie. I think Meri is a lying liar who lies. I could respect her and her bad choices a lot more if she ever owned up to being wrong, but since the beginning, she has made herself look completely innocent, which we all (or many of us) know she is not.

While MrSpock wishes Janelle the best in her endeavors, if this latest "try" takes, MrSpock will be surprised. Further, there is nothing new about Strive so MrSpock does not see how it will thrive in the marketplace. While everyone has their own way of doing things, for MrSpock it is NOT talking about "self-improvement"---but simply doing it---that has a better chance of succeeding. In fact, my friend only received one pair of leggings in her initial order of clothes. And some of those leggings can sell for quite a bit of money, since they're made in limited quantities. Selling LulaRoe isn't for me, and there's very little that I've seen that I would even want to wear, but it is more than just leggings.

  47. I wonder if all the parties of my past that I attended out of obligation for a friend/family member selling something (Mary Kay, Tupperware, Pampered Chef...the list goes on) only thrived temporarily because people can't say "no" to showing up to a friend's party and also, in a way, I admit the parties were kind of fun. Unfortunately some people don't just have parties for the sake of having fun and getting friends together - it's like there has to be some angle!!
I am not familiar with LulaRoe, but the newer MLM schemes seem to be based solely on social media. Take the Rodan and Fields skincare. If you have friends selling it you expect to see all their daily, sometimes several times a day posts pushing the stuff. I wouldn't be surprised if after the catfish incident where the batfish actually came to their parties selling their water goo they are more cautious in their MLM schemes and that is why Janelle came up with a virtual product to sell for her latest MLM scheme??

I don't watch Dancing with the stars or if I do it is a few dances on youtube of people I know of but I would so watch Kody because i am sure they would do some ridiculous polygamy dance with like..costume quick changes or something else that establishes his view of his interchangeable wives.

I miss the my 5 wives guy and his family. I am sure we would have found them equally terrible eventually but I really loved how they fought and acknowledged actual emotional issues that come up in polygamy. The Browns have basically just said they mentally block the unpleasantness. So TLC if you are reading (They must right?) I would so watch OTHER polygamy families but there has to be a willingness to be vulnerable that I don't feel from this brood.

Also I find the making fun of the kids names to be a bit distasteful. Yes it is a silly name and haha that Robyn picked it but when we continuously call the kid a nipple at a certain point it is us mocking the children. That poor kid can't help who her crappy parents are or what silly name they gave her. Can't we just go back to Robyn being to dumb to pronounce her own children's names rather than mocking the name the poor kid has to live with?

I think the clothing is cheap looking. They are trying to capitalize off of their dwindling fanbase. It's sad that Meri won't work a real job, or any of them for that matter. Think about it. Lularoe is not Mary Kay or Avon. I think it is very temporary and soon you won't even hear about it. She won't play the themed Hasbro games (Risk, Clue, Monopoly) more than once -- I speak from experience. I'd swap those out for the Big Bang Theory Lego Kit (let's face it, people buy the themed games for the toys inside, and the component quality is poor). Lego themed kits also re-sell for closer to your purchase price, but that copy of BBT Clue will be a dollar at the Goodwill. Get Pandemic instead of Risk. Risk at two players is boring, whereas Pandemic scales down well.

    1. That's a big leap to call someone "gay" because of a few pictures that were from movies. Even if she was, why would there be a reason to say something was "amiss with her"? She's maturing and finding her own way. Can't we just leave it at that instead of labelling her?

      Delete
    2. I think it's "amiss" bc of the context and environment she was raised in. Look at their religion and life style. Mariah could not be open about something like that. Also, this is a discussion forum lol so I think people want to discuss issues from the show.

  59. Mariah is finding her truth. She's come a long way from the sheltered, pampered wanna-be-a-sister-wife girl. She's got some smarts and is open-minded to new realities. That's a lot of growth.
For all of those kids, the SisterWives show and getting the hell out of Dodge was likely one of the most fortunate things to affect their lives.
I hope that one day Mariah can forgive Meri's behavior. How would any of us felt in her position? She may have behaved in an amateurish way as far as relationships are concerned, but the plyg lifestyle helped to create that void in the first place.
If each kid and wife were to come to an awareness of the unbalanced nature of polygamy and shake off the dust, the show would have been worth it's salt.

Maddie is the most frustrating because we all thought she was the "smartest" of the Brown girls and would make a difference. Turns out, she's just like her mommy and daddy, with a big old Kody chip on her shoulder! So I agree that Mariah IS showing a lot of growth and maturity these days. At least she hasn't slammed Orange County WalMarts as being "ghetto" lately!

  61. TLC GO has ALL episodes of sister wives from beginning. Started watching and it's shocking how happy and un-scripted season 1 was; then look at how miserable and staged season 10 is....

  62. Watching season 2 episode (Kody and Christine in vegas together). At dinner Kody gas wine and Christine champagne... thought they didn't drink? (I remembered Robyn talking ab Kody not drinking and they don't drink alchohol?)...they've clearly got alchohol though in this episode? ??

    2. From what I understand, some fundamentalist do drink alcohol...for example, the Centennial Park polygamists featured on Polygamy USA. Hyrum slugged down a couple of tequila shots at his bachelor's party, while sisterwives Marleen and Rebecca hosted two dinner parties featuring wine. At one of them, creepy dinner guest Stan stood up and toasted his 2nd wife - who although had recently given birth to his spirit baby was still too young to drink and had to skip the wine.

In reference to the Browns, who knows for sure. I haven't watched the San Francisco episode, but I thought Robyn didn't join in the beer-sampling because she was nursing King Sol, but frankly speaking, Robyn is such a hypocritical "Do as I say, not as I do" type of person...kind of like Meri and her stance on modesty. And I remember Meri did have a drink on an early trip to Mexico with Kody, but it may have been "virgin" or in the case of champagne, sparkling cider.

    3. Oops, that should be I haven't re-watched the San Francisco episode recently...

    4. Christine made the comment once that truly will "have her hot chocolate and I'll have my wine."

    5. Meri has posted a photo on twitter recently of herself sitting outside enjoying a glass of wine, but it's very obvious at this point none of them actually follow their religious rules anymore anyway.

    6. Exactly, which actually makes them less compelling. Because they didn't fully leave it, they are still in name only in their faith. I would be interested to watch them more if they were still into their faith, or if they openly left it totally.

I've had a weird two weeks!

For starters, my cousin was on vacation in Las Vegas and found herself in an elevator with Kody and Merri and all she could report was she was surprised at how tall they were!

But second, and even more shocking, I have learned that I am descended from some good old fashioned Mo-Plygs.

I am interested in finding out if any of this string of family is still involved in polygamy, but I don't know where to look, so if you all have any ideas, please let me know! I am very deep into ancestry.com but it's not giving up all of the secrets yet. ;P

  65. I am still struggling to understand Janelle's new business - STRIVE with Janelle. When I explore the web page, I am invited to give my email address to receive future updates and newsletters and tips to provide encouragement. At what point does she turn this into a money making venture? After enough sign up does she reveal something you need to buy (supplements?) or possibly she tries to charge for individual online coaching?
I am so puzzled where this is going and how she turns it into a money making venture? How long can she leave the web page sit like this with just a few blog updates before she has lost interest and any chance to capitalize on making money from whatever it is she is doing - which is still so very unclear to me!
Any thoughts out there about what is going on?!!

    ReplyDelete
  66. From past experiences Janelle has quit certain ventures. Remember the weight loss blog that she never posted to. They cannot figure out one thing that will make them money and success. Give it up already and get real jobs. Some of their FB fans seem to think that they will get another season due to the wedding in December. I am hoping that they will not come back. Time for another family.

Meri has a new man that lives in Hawaii and she is supposed move there to marry him.

    1. ^ part of me hopes it's true. If anything to see their faces, when it's confirmed without a shadow a doubt, that she has wanted to leave for years.

"But Meri, you said you were a victim, that you weren't seeking love!"

"Nope, no love, just want the moneyz bitches - BYEEEE!!"

. . . the other part of me calls bull though. Unless the guy marries her, and they get a written monthly allowance put in a marriage contract, I don't see her trying to run off while the show is still going on. It's her only tangible source of income. She was only willing to give that up, when she thought she snagged a millionaire! No way she'd take that risk to fall for another potential catfish, even if Hawaii sounds awesome this time of year :p

  68. I think it's very telling that none of the wives shared about king Sol's birthday but Sobbin. Usually Meri has much to say about Sol and the other wives share Sob's birthday shout out.

Also, I don't remember Sobbin wishing DaytonAuroraBreanna a happy birthday on Twitter. Her favoritism for her kids with Kody is sickening.

  69. I think when this show is kicked to the curb Meri and maybe even Janelle will hit the road. Meri because she was betrayed by Robyn and is very lonely, and Janelle because she can support her own family without all the drama and needing to support the others. Christine will stick around for some odd reason unless her mother can convince her to leave and get her own life. Then that leaves Robyn with the prize and she will not stick around without the money and cameras. Poor Grodie.

    1. I just saw the commercial during the "Counting On" episode tonight (don't judge me too harshly, I guess I can't help myself when it comes to TLC trash). Anyways, the part where Meri says, "I feel like I'm going through this by myself" - or was it, "going through life by myself" (It's only been 10 minutes, and I already forgot, jees). Well, honestly, I kinda sorta felt bad for her . . . I mean, I know she did it to herself, but being surrounded by so many people, and still feel alone, that's sad (though how much is it just in her head??).

    2. I would love for Meri to find a new and true love. Someone who isn't in the throes of eros with one of the three other people with whom he is sleeping while putting her down for the mere mention of being intimate with another.
I find myself seriously on team go girl Meri, and yes, I've seen this sideshow from the beginning of the beginning.
If only Christine can stop the robotic, reflexive plyg talk she's been marinated in, she too could find a more balanced and loving relationship. She knows how to make a beautiful life for her family.
Janelle is fine where she is, in her role pimping out the Kode to younger women as the years go by; ho hum. Janell's kids have some good sense overall.
Mariah, try and forgive your mom. She's been through plenty, and through it all looked out for your needs above all else. You are the only kid to get the super expensive liberal-arts college education that has propelled you, especially, out of the dark plyg ages. Rejoice in that. We are for you.

    3. "Kody wonders to the camera if being filmed was a mistake."

That is like taking a drag from a cigarette and wondering if it is a mistake. The ramifications and perks of being in the public eye are well known. Then again, Kody and his brood are a little dense.

      Delete
    4. I saw a few clips yesterday. Kody and Mariah were filmed having a heart to heart about Meri and the catfishing scandal. Mariah admits to Kody that the had warned Meri that she was being catfished at the beginning of 2 summers ago, to no avail, and that she still has yet to forgive Meri.
Kody, to his credit, actually says that he might have been a catalyst for Meri's vulnerability with the catfish. When Mariah utters a little "no", he says "yeah, I think so".
The next clip is of Kody expressing doubt/regret for that private conversation being filmed.
No a big Kody fan here, but I was glad to see him finally getting a grip on reality. Too bad Mariah seems to have blinders on and not get the gestalt of the situation.

I'm way more excited for CJ 's return from vacation than theirs.

Let the snark begin. I would love to see Meri leave and get a life. Those tapes had the real Meri on them. A person with real feelings and excitement for the possibility of a new life. Instead of the "stepford" plyg - dead in the soul- zombie they all pretend to be. No jealousy, no wanting, no arguments...yeah right. Go Meri, run away from the back stabbing Kobyn monster.

And, the clip of Kody saying he didn't think, whatever it was he's referring to, should have been filmed/shown on tv. SMH Same 'ole editing/baiting by TLC hoping viewers will be curious about what exactly he's referring to and will tune in. Is he talking about Meri's controversy, or the wedding, or a birth, or something stupid like a haircut? Good 'ole TLC.

    2. This is a family whose agenda is to "sell" their "reality" on tv. It's not straight news yet it's not complete fiction. shows like this ride the rails in a way that the "characters" presented seem to exist in some kind of surreal limbo.
It's commonly referred to as "reality tv". We are entertained by the "entertainment" put out their by TLC, Figure 8, and all with the Brown family permission. People see it as fair game to express their opinions about the information being presented.
Also, I reject the idea that we all "absolutely hate" this family. Not true for me nor many others (in my opinion). Realize this is not, of course, a fan site either. However, some people began watching during the early seasons and may have earlier had a more positive view of the family leader.
Some may go what others consider too far, but my advice would be to steer away from anything or anyone unpleasant. I love in Mad Med when Don Draper says "if you don't like what's being said, change the conversation". Or the channel. Or the website.

Just have to full-out laugh at that!

Kody would film *anything* for the TLC paycheck, or any paycheck!! Remember the poor dog about to be terminated, but first we had to watch Kody pretending to be digging the grave while the seemingly happy, alert, tali-wagging dog was running around.
