  1. Meri on Twitter:

Be sure to watch tonight's 2 new episodes. Explanation begins to unfold... #SisterWives

How tacky and crass of them, to use a divorce as a plot line. Anyone who thinks this divorce "leak" wasn't intentional and for ratings is delusional.

    1. But the question remains...will they stretch this divorce and remarriage out into the next season ??? That's assuming there will be a new season...

    2. If the Brown's were ever able to address truthfully how it has affected their family then maybe. But, everything gets candy coated by the adults and spun like all of these life's traumas are a good thing for the family. Reality Tea has posted that only because Robyn pitched a fit did Kody marry her and that TLC is scrambling to re edit the show to accomodate viewer outrage

      Delete
    3. I bet the Browns were blindsided by the viewer outrage. Finally people are realizing the emperor has no clothes! TLC has their work cut out, tying to edit the shows to make them look good or at all relatable. I bet the divorce will be covered over the next three weeks and then the marriage to Robyn will be the cliff hanger for next season.

    4. I was trying to find the actual viewership numbers (and couldn't), but zap2it shows that there are two more episodes after tonight. One called Divorce and then the Tell All. It also showed both were airing tonight after the two that are on now, so I don't know how accurate it is. In any event, it also makes it seem that TLC had to go back to the cutting board and re-edit.

Also, in response to someone's tweet, Meri responded something about not being able to say anything until the episodes air. It has already left the screen, and I don't want to search for it. If true, they should have said that in their response, instead of "restructuring their family." They are absolutely clueless when it comes to this.

      Delete
    5. Yes, and Meri now wants to portray the divorce as a simple "restructuring." Yet earlier she admitted that this was why she had been crying recently during couch sessions. She would suddenly burst into tears over nothing as they were sitting and discussing. Now she expects us to beleive that she was not in pain.

      Delete
    6. They need to be careful tossing out the word "restructuring." If they are divorcing/remarrying for financial reasons (specifically tax reasons) that screams fraud.

    7. Christina - Reality Tea has the ratings, scroll on the left side, it lists all the shows - scroll down to Ratings. They do it 1X/week, last one 2/13.

  3. I noticed last week that Kody did not seem sure of Savanah's age when Truely was born. I can't imagine not knowing the exact age of my kids. To me that shows that Kody is not really involved iln his children's lives. I wonder how the kids will feel when they see this. When they get older and look back on these, I imagine that the pain will be evident.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think their feelings will be validated. They'll probably feel that everything they felt and thought about how UNinvolved he was in their lives was in fact a reality and that they're justified in feeling shortchanged in the Dad area.

  4. that just pains me to see those steaks go up in flames. the grill probably has never been cleaned. with the price of beef so high its like a metaphor just looking at the money go up in flames.

  5. Janelle laughing about how they go to the movies "only four times a year," because it is so expensive really rubs me the wrong way. Most families are lucky to make it to the movies at all, let alone every few months. They come off as spoiled, entitled people.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Yes, they do seem to feel that they are very entitled. Mariah's twitter header where she called herself, a television star...seems to set the tone for the family.

      Delete
    2. My husband and I have three children and make decent money but still never go to the movies because of how expensive it is. The Browns are so gluttonous in so many ways: too many relationships, too may children (when you have no memories of a daughter growing up because she had too many siblings, when your toddler almost dies of dehydration because no one notices dry diapers, when your other toddler needs EXTENSIVE dental surgery at age three, you have too many children), copious amounts of food, constant, extensive parties, huge, expensive houses. And of course, entertainment is the top priority.

      Delete
    3. I was watching him have absolutely no idea how many people were there. How can you go out and not know how many people are there? How do they not lose people? Honestly a fight over the front seat of a handful of cars? How far away is the movie place for anyone to care. At their ages? They are stressed about something else. Maybe the cameras? Or maybe they didn't want to go with dozens of people but rather friends? If you want to sit with your group af 5 or more you go way early. Do they really go four times a year? This isn't a hardship. If it a hardship you leave earlier. Why not look into group tickets? How they have kids in public school and don't have a movie coupon from some PTO thing I don't know? If it's such a financial burden why buy candy and popcorn? They can live two hours without food.

    1. Poor Gabriel. He does not need to be this embarrassed on TV. Now Christine is wondering is he can be trusted anymore. That's rich. Queen of the Liars being judgmental about a scared child lying.

Kody: I've never spanked you, what were you afraid of?

Ummm, not being loved by his father? Being humiliated on television?

    2. What kind of dental work would a child need at that age? I wish they explained it a little more than they did.

    3. I bet he had a ton of cavities and needed crowns.

    4. Someone on twitter feed suggests bottle rot, when baby's go to bed with bottles or sippy cups. Can you get that from breast feeding?

      Delete
    5. He's three. They're his baby teeth. He'll get new ones soon. What kind of "extensive" work could the kid possibly need. Total BS. Whatever.

      Delete
    6. My son had four crowns on baby teeth when he was four and had to be put under general anesthesia to do it. But it wasn't surgery.

      Delete
    7. Yep, Emma Christian, little kids can absolutely get cavities (bottle rot) from falling asleep while nursing. All that family bed time with Solomon probably included lots of night nursing. If you throw daytime sugar in on top of it and inadequate brushing, then there's a mouth full of decayed little teeth. And yes, Anonymous 7:40, they are baby teeth, but they can't be left to rot in his mouth. His permanent teeth, jaw, and gums could become involved, or even cause a systemic infection.

      Delete
    8. Drinking too much juice will also rot your gums so that the adult teeth never form. It would not surprise me in the least if this group of adults allowed this to happen.

      Delete
  11. Why would a child that young need extensive dental work? Unless he's put to bed with a bottle of juice, what could cause that serious of an issue?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I'm thinking nursing at night, being given lots of juice and sugar drinks, and no brushing. My son had a bunch of cavities when he was five when he was almost five. He had been spending weekends with his dad who gave him lots of soda, candy, and never brushed. He had to be put under because he couldn't hold still that long. But I wouldn't have called that surgery. After the weekends with dad stopped never a tooth problem. Sounds like poor Sol's health and hygiene was being neglected.

      Delete
    2. Wondered that too. Possibly something with his jaw, an overbite or underbite and maybe they can catch that stuff sooner??

Just a guess, poor kiddo needing a surgery...

      Delete
    3. I don't think they can do anything like that when a child still has baby teeth. That would be done with braces when the child is older.

      Delete
    4. Wonder if they have dental insurance. If not, that will be a huge bill to submit to a future bankruptcy.

      Delete
    5. Whatever work was done, it looked like it wasn't very extensive or invasive because Sol sure looked like he was okay after it was over.

      Delete
    6. I am guessing bottle mouth caused by too much sucking on a bottle and giving all the sugars from the milk and that LIV green goo sit on his teeth. I thought it was a quick procedure because Robyn said the doc called her quickly to tell her it was over. This seemed like a story invented to explain away Robyn's grouchy demeanor when the "students" were there. She said earlier that she was out of sorts because her Dad was ill and now Solomon needed "surgery". Over four days??? I think that she just wanted to avoid the questions. Fake on so many levels. Please cancel this show so that the circus has to pack up the mansions and git!

  17. Kody sounds so horrified at the idea of HRH Mariah being a "third" or "fifth" wife. Because marriage order doesn't matter.

  20. So Robyn says Kody and Sol only had "one-on-one time" because he had "surgery." Like the one-on-one time he had with Truely when she was in the hospital and he was at Meri's house eating cake? He obviously favors Sol, give it up!

    1. What Christine took away from that was, "Kody had a long courtship with Robyn and none with me. He says long courtships make happier marriages. Kody is happier being married to Robyn than to me." Given that this was probably filmed around the time of the divorce, I'm not surprised she reacted this way.

  28. OMG.the hypocrisy of these Liars !!
Last week ol Sobbin says that she and Kody "courted for 4 months" which, as she said last week was really a long time for their religion. With the Idiot agreeing w/ her.
Now THIS week Kody is saying that a longer courtship is better for a better marriage with his new wife parroting him when Christine is pissed hearimg that since she and Kodty had NO courtship.
These people just need to go away !!

Also it is obvious that everything the Blog has snarked on as to how Kody treats his kids....Sobbins kids.....boys over girls .is being questioned by the students.
    What a blatant setup !!

    3. The Anthropology student just "happened" to find their book on the shelf and just happened to start reading it? What do they think that they are doing? First, really? 45. Oh crap, I commented on the wrong page. Here are my posts. Sorry if they repeat what others say:
I get too distracted by trying to read tweets and watch, but hell folks. Antoinette asked Robyn about how Kody interacted more with her kids and the other kids. Robyn then precedes to blame the children. Kody only wants to be with kids who want to be cuddly etc. but THE CHILDREN don't want that (she said), it's not Kody's fault. WTF!!! If they are trying to make her more sympathetic, that blew it. But maybe folks won't think that through. Thank God my parents didn't just love us when it was easy or only when we were reaching out to them. But then I didn't have part-time parents. If anything, when we withdrew or acted out that was when they tried to get more involved. And when the natural teenage pulling away happened, we had a relationship with my parents. They worked at being good parents, even though one was struggling with a mental illness.
Kody just admitted again with no sign of regret that he's a poor father "with his daughters."
Now the students are sucking up after sex talk.
My husband noted at halfway talk there was no divorce talk. Ten minutes to go and still nothing as predicted.
The students were punished with iconic joolery.
Just mainly had to rant over Sobbin's pushing the blame to kids. Of course, she had to throw down with Christine speaking for Kody. Get used to it, Christine, there's a new sheriff in town. Chritine does take everything too personally because she can't be honest about the real problem and her real fears!
Oh my good, the students and their conclusion made me puke although it was not unexpected.
Last 2 minutes here comes Meri.
For those of you not watching. The new episode will be in 2 weeks. They tried to play it like Kody had no idea. She was telling Kody and Robyn first in coming scenes. At end of episode she said she'd been thinking about it for 5 yrs since Robyn came. She phrased it to lawyer as "legal divorce."
Is two weeks the end of sweeps month?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Robyn has said before that when she and Kody were courting and Kody would snuggle her kids and tuck them in for bed and this habit remained. They were laughing about how Dayton was too old to tuck in and snuggle in the episode his eye is repaired. So Robyn indoctrinated her kids with Kody right away.

      Delete
  46. The most interesting thing about this "Meri Special" is how Kody is able to take any scene where he may have actually looked like a good husband and explain how he was actually being an asshole the whole time.

    ReplyDelete
  47. They show the Meri-Kody 2nd honeymoon scene, where Meri asks Kody how he'd like she took a 2nd husband. Robyn interjects herself, stating that it's a famous scene in their show, but do they have to constantly relive it.

The more we've interacted the last couple of weeks, the more convinced I am that, if there was a legitimate reason for fear mixed in with the truth (Dumbo wanted to move to the great promised land in the desert), it's that questions were being asked about the government assistance some of them might have been receiving (especially if there was time between the initial episodes and the flight in the night. No persecution for polyygamy by itself. Just their real crimes.

  64. Meri is talking about going to back to school. She was too busy in the fall semester - I guess the quickie divorce was a schedule conflict. And, she dropped her courseload from two to one, making it back in the spring semester. But, all the footage is from Logan's sophomore year, when he was their tour guide for Aspyn's college tour. They don't show her entering a classroom, reading or studying...

Did anyone catch Christine's fake look of surprise when Meri said she was divorcing Kody? They are going to stop the season at Meris divorce and "cliffhanger" Kody and Robins marriage for the next season. This show reeks of the the desperation of these people to keep the TLC money coming in because God knows they won't be able afford to live in that cul de sac for long without it.

  76. Maybe the reason we thought Kody was a jerk for not wanting to have a baby with Meri was because during that episode Meri told Robyn her plan was to tell Kody she wanted to move forward with having a baby.

  79. As I watched there were several "can't wait to snark on this moments." After 2 grueling hours, I am just numb from how long and tedious the whole thing was. So this is it for now.
    1. Christine told Kody to Go to hell..is this especially bad in their world, diff levels of heaven, planets, all that. I know I enjoyed it either way.
    2. Mariah told her friends about the move. For YEARS we have heard that NOBODY knew. Just LAST week we were told that only their moms knew....They lie just way too easily. But let's shame a kid when they lie when cornered and confronted with escalating wild eyed Kody telling him he has "No Salvation"
    3. Robyn being told that Kody spends a lot of 1:1 time with Sol....Best moment of the night, maybe the whole show.
In 2 weeks,we'll get the Brown Family approved spun version of a fraction of the truth. Followed by the Tell Nothing special and I'm more convinced than ever that either by cancellation or deleting this crap from my DVR..It will be the end of the road for me.

    1. Totally agree! If their conclusions were true - he has no favorite wife, he has a strict rotation and is very conscientious about it, etc. - what does that say about the TLC editing? Like many have said before, they can't film things that didn't happen.

But, their conclusions contradicted all their spontaneous comments through their observations, as well as the book that the student just studied. That scene should kill their academic or research careers.

Also, the female student giggled when asked if she wanted to become the 5th wife. Then, the professor said that everyone who went to Colorado City got asked or was pressured to join.

  81. I don't believe for a second that this "legal divorce" is all Meri's idea five years ago. I don't think she sat there watching Robyn marry Kody and said to herself, I guess I should divorce Kody and let Robyn have him, in the legal sense. There must have been way more going on between the three of them (and maybe Robyn's ex) for them to come to this decision. Maybe Robyn and Kody want more kids but need fertility treatments. I don't know that we will ever get the full, true story though. Not from these liars.

  82. Plus the one would LOVE to have sister wives. Puke!

  83. I thought Robyn was stepping way out of line when she interjected her special self into Christine and Kody's tense conversation about long courtships. But at the same time, it was also another reminder that Christine does not feel good about her courtship and wedding to Kody and still has issues with it. Having read their book ( I know), it's easy to see why. She didn't really have a courtship with Kody and he wasn't very enthusiastic at their wedding. Along comes Robin and it's all moonlight and roses.

  84. I have one more. When asked how they would react if one of their kids was gay, Robyn, apparent family spokesperson said, We would accept whatever they "decide" to do.
Being gay is not a choice or something one decides to do. So infuriating.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Geez. Well, they are pushing their "lifestyle" on us. News flash, SWEETIE: there are so many that, statistically speaking, you may end up with at least a couple who end up "making" that "decision." Will your head explode if that happens?

      Delete
    2. Her answer was infuriating for many reasons including their many irrational 'fears' about people not exactly like them. I call bs on her saying they'd of course unconditionally love them. If Christine could so easily 'fear' her own mother or aunt, I think they'd banish a child, just as easily, for being gay - gosh, they'd probably be hysterical thinking about them affecting/'in'fecting the other kids and would rush to change the locks on the doors.

      Delete
    3. Possible responses:
Robyn : "Kody, go stop ____ from being gay." "I don't like it"

Christine: "It makes me feel unsafe."

Janelle; "I cant' believe I'm okay with_____ being gay" "I surprised myself."

Meri: "As long as it doesn't affect Mariah's tuition or my share of the $$..I'm good"

Kody: " So____ is gay? Which one is that?" "Do I know him(her)?"

      Delete
  85. So if the March 1st episodes are the season finale and the tell-all, does that mean that Christine and Janelle aren't going to get "special episodes?"

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I think that's exactly what it means. No specials for Janelle or Christine - just like middle children getting overlooked, they're the middle wives who accept getting less than the favored and title-holding first and last wife.

  88. It was really bothering me how Robin kept answering for Kody. It's like she's "covering" for him and doesn't want the viewers or the other wives to be mad at his Neanderthal behavior and mindset. If I were one of the other wives I'd be really pissed because it is obvious that she feels the closest to kody and that everyone else just misunderstands him.

    1. At one point he even turned to her, put his hand up,and said "I'd like to add.." So maybe it bothers him too. I remember during Meri's Graduation Day meltdown, that Meri ran to Robyn to speak to Kody, because she was the only one he would listen to.

Heard they were hanging around during taping. And avoid the FLDS of Warren Jeffs and avoids her Dad's church AUB and ----Mariah ,flee Utah to never return.

  92. Mariah changed majors from pre-med to physician's assistant. No surprise there--wonder if the "testimony" came after seeing her GPA.

Meri wishes she had met Kody later. Christine feels insulted by Kody's observation that a longer courtship might have mitigated some of the challenges he encountered. Kody is closer to his sons than he is to his daughters, and spends more time with Sol than with the other children. Janelle never sought family counseling because a therapist would have diagnosed her problem as polygamy, not her relationship with Meri. Meri didn't get the close relationship with Janelle she expected from a sister wife.

My analysis: these people don't get what they want because they don't know how to work for what they want and expect it to happen just because that's what they want. If they'd practice compassion, candor, and respect for one another, they could have supportive, loving relationships with the entire family, and they would model that behavior for the children to emulate.

The Browns lack self-awareness and internal locus of control.Everything negative that they experience is someone else's fault.

    1. Mariah should check in with Rhonda Williams. It sounded like being a medical assistant can be fairly hard work for not a lot of pay.

      Delete
    2. And I'm guessing that IF Westminster has a medical assistant program, it will be even harder to justify the cost of pursuing her degree there.

      Delete
    3. Physician Assistant programs are hard as MD programs. We'll probably be seeing another change of majors in the future.

      Delete
    4. I agree with mainstream. PA programs are just as hard and demanding as MD programs, they just don't last as long. If she's looking for a career with better hours, being a PA is not the way to go. Most physicians assistant jobs are in the ER or trauma, which entails a lot of long shifts, on call, and overnights. She isn't going to just be able to go work in a clinic from 9-5. Oh, and a medical assistant and physicians assistant are not the same thing. A PA is a practicing medical professional who has patients, can prescribe certain medication, and perform certain procedures. A medical assistant is usually someone who does basic triage (blood pressure, blood draw, urine sample) and can usually place IVs and give shots. Being a PA requires post-bachelor education, being and MA is an 18 month certificate program. Major difference.

  93. I'm curious to know the timing of the filming of the anthropologist's study.

Did they film in fall 2013 or was it fall 2014 - after the divorce in September? I hope some of you paid more attention to the details than I did and can tell what year it was taped?

If filmed in '13, pre-divorce, then Meri was already thinking about it and it's just another factor in their flawed conclusions about how this family functions.
I doubt TLC held the anthropologist footage for over a year before airing it. Holding footage that long before airing it is very uncommon in reality tv.

If the anthropology study was filmed in fall of '14, then it was AFTER the divorce and they all would have known about it and were lying (who, the Browns and TLC lie? lol ), but why?

    1. I think that they filmed it in the summer of 2015. They had returned from visiting the Colliers, dropped off Madison at USU, moved in Annie and moved Aspyn and Mykelti into their shared apartment in the previous episodes. That had to happen in June - August 2015. So, Meri was about to file for divorce - if the show is actually shown in sequence.

    2. Sorry - it's Fall 2014. Meri clarified in response to someone's tweets. So, she already decided to or filed for divorce.

  94. Per what was said in the show, the students were with the Browns for a four-day weekend. The clear implication is that they slept at Meri's house the whole time---separate bedrooms, sharing a bathroom.

ERGO, how could they possibly know if Kody:

1). Stuck to a strict rotation schedule: Obviously he was on schedule for those four days because he was being observed----but how would they know that even under those circumstances? Were they sneaking into each master bedroom those four nights to do a bed check?

2). Had or did not have a favorite "wife"? They were such astute observers they could answer that question definitively in four days? MrSpock thinks not.

PROMO for the last episode before the TELL NOTHING with Tamron: The five adults are together and it is obvious they are discussing the divorce and that Meri has said she really really wants to do this----then cut to Robyn with a look of "deep concern" wrinkling her brow and she asks Meri, "Are you sure about this?"----but what Robyn is actually thinking is "Yes, yes, yes!!!!!!! Yahooooo!" Even the anthropology students couldn't miss the body language ----well, maybe those two could..... ;-)

  95. Forgive me if this was already discussed...regarding Kody and Christine, discussing courtships - I did read the Sister Wives book, but I don't remember those two having no courtship - how did they get together, then? Did he just see her across a crowded room and decide to marry her? Did she chase after him? I just don't remember, and I'm curious.

And did I hear correctly - did Christine say to Kody, "go to hell, Kody" during the couch session? I rewound it twice, I can't believe I heard what I think I heard. But then, if editing is to be believed, two minutes later she was back to laughing about something. I mean, I say that to my husband or he says it to me and there's going to be some fireworks...but no one on the couch really reacted. What the heck?

My waders have been thoroughly doused with bleach and are now hanging out in the sun for further de-contamination.

    A few trivial observations....
Why the need for hay bales as patio furniture?
Does no one in the cuddle-sac own lawn chairs?

    About those steak incinerations...
Kody, how about watching a few Bobbie Flay shows on how to barbecue.
Seriously, that fire would have made Joan of Arc nervous.
And then you actually expected people to eat that charred mess?

Interesting location choice for the "students" to have their pow-wows about their findings...on the floor, wedged between the bed and the wall.
Must have been a challenge for the camera crew !

Janelle's post-hole digging skills have been grossly under-reported.
