In real life, polygamy is pretty damn scary if you look too close, for too long. But some of us like our polygamy served to us once a week on a silver platter called reality television, seasoned liberally with some social media. If you just to want to snark about reality shows like Sister Wives, Polygamy, USA or some newer shows on the horizon, my living room is yours.
I fell in love with Mr. Spock as a teenager. When I grew up I learned to know and love the talented actor, director, writer and wonderful human being who brought him to life. He almost made it to his 84th birthday. A very sad day for me, my husband and fans everywhere. Sympathy to his family and friends. He will be missed!
ReplyDeleteVery sad indeed. Another icon from my youth gone. Whew, time keeps slipping by, doesn't it? For those interested...google Audi Spock Challenge and watch one of the greatest commercials ever.
ReplyDeleteCrying here :-(
ReplyDeleteAs the youngest of 4 by many years, I ended up watching whatever was put on by the older kids and my brother-in-law. I thought that Spock and Kirk were real--I didn't need to 'suspend my disbelief' because I was so young when I was introduced to it. Leonard Nimoy was so cool he enhanced my love of Spock.
ReplyDeleteI saw the 're-boot' in the theater 7 times; I think Zachary Quinto is carrying on the torch very well.
Also, both Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner are, I believe, born under the sign of Aries and in the Chinese year of the Sheep, as am I, so that iconography has added to the connection I feel to those guys, their characters, and the show.
Thanks, Cynical, for this memorial to an all-around awesome guy. (I cried too, MrSpock)
Live long and prosper.
When MrSpock and spouse were young they went to Halloween parties as Mr. Spock and "Mrs. Spock." The costumes are still in the hope chest along with the green pointed ears that we made. Great memories!!!!
ReplyDeleteWe are losing our icons. :-(
ReplyDeleteDear Spock,
Fly with ease now ! Your mission is complete.
I am so sad. One of my favorites. Live long and prosper...
ReplyDeleteSo sad
ReplyDeleteLove him! And of course it's logical that both Mr. Spock and Mr. Nimoy were vegetarians :o)
ReplyDeleteMay he rest in peace.
