Well, apparently tonight will be another showcase of Brown tomfoolery, starting with a recap centering on Meri and her bed and breakfast quest, to be followed by Meri and more catfish rehashing nobody is interested in.

Once again, it was another scripted load of old news....boring and hardly worth even snark energy. All of them are exactly who they always have been.
Meri....obnoxious, self-centered and "not believable"....!! Grow up, Meri and put the catfisher away in your past of "bad decisions." No one cares !!

Janelle...OMG, you are almost a joke heading yout so-called "Strive" scam. Come on, Janelle, do you really think anything you rip off online and put on your blog really qualifies you to be telling others how to be fit????

Christine.....hey girlfriend, you definitely ARE looking better than ANY of your "sisters" but sadly, you obviously are still stuck in the Kody adoration. DeleteI forgot to mention the ratings for last week premiere. 1.5 million viewers with a 40 share. The show came in 6th place in the top 10. Compared with 90 Day Fiance that had 2.5 million viewers and was #1.

We have speculated for the last 3 or 4 years that they had finally scraped the barrel of BS dry...and still they were renewed.
However, this current crop of "nothingness" may be the finally be finale.
This rerun of Catfisher drivel and expected ratings catnip belongs in the kittylitter box.
Meri and her B&B is a lot of nothing. Who cares about a mediocre house in the middle of nowhere with rooms to let?
Adspen's wedding may be nice to see, since she is nice to see. Beyond that, another yawn except perhaps to contrast it to Maddie's and Mykelti's Kody-starring weddings.
Maddie moving and pregnant..nice for them as long as we don't have to have to suffer through another of her gender reveal and labor and delivery.
As for ANOTHER move...no, not that scripted drama again...if so, it should trigger an audience mutiny.
Thank you CJ for providing a safe place for all the snark. This blog makes it worth while to watch the show. It has gone a bit stale, but the commenters here make it worth while.

I saw hanelle and her youngest daughter to at the small mall there shopping for back to school clothes. Janelle looks like she did when the show first started. Like she gained back everything . I don’t understand this strive bs because she didn’t practice what she attempts to preach.

I was surprised that I was annoyed by Mariah. I am tired of Meri playing this victim role too, but the way Mariah is with her mom reminds me why Meri was vulnerable to being catfished in the first place. Mariah is old enough to realize that Meri is done with this lifestyle and wants to leave but is scared of the unknown. Meri was hoping she had found a prince charming to rescue her. But she was fooled. If Meri had someone, anyone, to support her, she might be honest about why she was even communicating with the catfisher in the first place.

Mariah is not woke. She is a self righteous brat. Nothing her selfish father does is wrong. But she can't find that same acceptance for her mother. She went to college and was introduced to some new ideas (that are great when coupled with life experience and empathy) but she has no life experience nor empathy for her mother; so she comes off as judgemental. Can't she realize her mother is lonely and suffering. Why not try to be supportive? "Mom I get that you were the victim of an 'evildoer' because you put yourself out there since you are lonely. I'm sorry that happened."

Does she even realize that TLC would probably give her a spinoff show, so financially she'd be in the same boat she is now. She'd be equally as alone as she is now. Las Vegas had a big real estate rebound between the time Janelle got her license when they first arrived and the present. Seems if she had taken advantage of her license she could have made some dough selling real state. Lools like robyn and meris houses have a realtor different than Janelle. Delete@Milo, all 4 of the houses are now listed with a new realtor (sorry Mona and TMI Realty!!) I guess they could no longer wait for Janelle to sell the 1st two homes. The strategy of putting the homes on the market one at a time, listing with Janelle (TMI Realty), made sense only if they sold the 1st home quickly and then the 2nd, etc. However, the price they put on the 1st home out of the gate was absolutely ridiculous and it has sat since July. Did they learn a lesson when putting the 2nd home on the market? No. It was priced equally ridiculous, consequently, neither home sold and now all four are on the market. I would say a total disaster. In true Brown form, they most likely counted on selling at least two of the homes when they purchased the land to build on in Flagstaff for $800K and they are most likely leveraged to the hilt!

DeleteThat was definitely the best part of the show for me. It actually jolted me out of the coma I was in watching this 2 hours of nothing. It gave me hope that some awkward interaction between Janelle and Adam might happen. Or at least the hope that someone on camera might address the former relationship. I wanted to reach right through the tv screen and rewrite the caption which said "Adam Barber - Meri's brother" to read "Adam Barber - Janelle's 1st Husband, brother of Meri"

I remember back to those 1st episodes I watched; I thought the pajamas Meri made for everyone at Christmas were charming. She worked with at risk youth. She sat at a table and called Kody out regarding how he would feel if she had a "brother husband" ....there was "something about Meri" to initially like and root for! It seems she has squandered any good will the audience might have once felt towards her.

But she has never stopped to think about what she can do for others. She's always complaining that she's lonely. Well it's because her sister wives are in a different life stage. They have little ones at home, which can be hectic and exhausting. If she truly believed in living that lifestyle shouldn't she show up and help with the bonus children? Isn't that the perk of polygamy? She didn't help Janelle's daughter move in or out. She doesn't help with day to day in any one's life. I get that she deserves to be an empty nester with her husband by her side. But that's not the lifestyle she chose. I wouldn't show up every day to help raise kids that aren't mine, but I'm not on TV claiming that polygamy is the way I want to live.

ReplyDeleteJust checked out the Iron County property records site in Utah and saw the deed details for the Inn. She has a loan of $308,000 on the property and it is listed to be used solely as a second home. How in the world did she get a loan for that amount with only $40,000 down?
ReplyDeleteAnd isn't Meri's name on one of the land deeds for the properties they purchased in Flagstaff??How can one person with crummy credit and a prior bankruptcy continue to qualify for all these loans. They surely didn't have cash for the land in AZ. The type of loan she took out on the Vegas home wouldn't have been structured to give her any equity in that home in such a short time--and she hasn't sold it yet to realize the supposed profit---my guess is that their finances are a complete house of cards and if the Vegas homes continue to sit they could be in real trouble!

Kody and wife Janelle’s parcel of land cost $170,000 for 2.42 acres, while Kody and Robyn also put down $170,000 for 2.42 acres of land. The third parcel, which Kody shares with Meri, set them back $180,000 for 4.48 acres. Janelle is also listed on the property. As for Christine’s property, which Robyn is also listed on along with Kody, it cost $300,000 for 5.16 acres of land.
Also, I believe this episode revealed that she got approved for a lower down payment. So she only had to pay half of the $40,000.
Oh, the article also says that Kody & Christine bought a house in AZ for $520,000 while they wait for the homes to be built. Janelle is in a 300,000 rental and with Robyn's million dollar rental she pays 3500 a month on rent. No clue where Meri is. None of the Las Vegas homes have sold yet. So, I have to wonder if Meri is contributing to the pot with the b&b money. So she would have to make enough for her mortgage and than some. Maybe it took off like she'd hoped?

I just love the way Meri keeps bringing these catfish victims to meet the family as if it somehow proves she deserves sympathy because there were others catfished by this same monster of a woman. What Meri doesn't seem to get is there is a big difference in a single woman thinking she has found love and was duped and formerly married, now divorced, but still a spiritual wife going on-line and falling for a scam artist. I figured Mariah was thinking the same but stopped short of saying it. I also feel pretty sure Kody and his harem have said the same thing among each other, just not to Meri. I think that was what Kody was wanting some of the others to quit dancing around. We know he's not going to do it.

None of them did anything to stop it, and they easily could have. Harassment by the catfish is still happening on her blog and twitter.

As a mother, I can't understand how or why Meri would want to go along with this catfish BS yet again except to maybe be twisted enough to hope by making it available for the masses, she can get a posse of strangers to rally for her vindication...against her daughter!!
Which means her daughter's perception is to be deemed wrong and Meri is to be eternally the sad-sack, victimized party. What mother would want her daughter's feelings challenged and possibly vilified by the public?
Hmm...having written that, I now wonder what daughter would agree to enter into such a public contest to incite pubic opinions about her mother and herself? They both well know the blogs/forums/chats are up and running, don't they. Both love to post about themselves on social media.

Yes - I think both Meri and Mariah crave attention. And definitely the payout from TLC has to sweeten the pot. I can't imagine why Meri thinks she is suddenly a good judge of character. These other victims of the catfisher that she is connecting with - why the need to have them in her home? I get that TLC is obviously footing the bill for flying them out, but really???
DeleteIt reminds me of their entire lack of judgement with Kendra - the gal that accompanied them to San Francisco to get on tv and then turned out to be a complete psycho. This family still doesn't understand that because of the reality show, they are a magnet for crazies. They need to build new friendships slowly and naturally now that they are in the public eye. Definitely not people connecting with them on social media. These are just the kind of crazy people who love attention and probably want nothing more than to appear on tv. When this most recent cat fish victim said Sam told her after only 5 days that he loved her, etc. I couldn't imagine the maturity level of someone who would fall for this.
So, I can't imagine why after being catfished Meri would be so quick to have these women in her home, regardless of sharing some kind of connection with them. They are most likely as unbalanced as she is.

At what point did Meri (or any of the other women they are showing now) say to themselves, "I am feeling foolish, I am making an ass of myself over someone who remains inconsistent, unavailable in person, obscure, impossible to pin down. Someone I have yet to even lay eyes on in real time. I may be hearing all the exciting, ego-feeding things I want to hear but something is off, something is just not "real" something is WRONG. I feel like I am humiliating myself."
It is obvious that the catfisher is a pro at what she does. She has the ability to create and sustain a male voice. She preys on lonely or ego-needy women and diabolically knows exactly and intimately what they want to hear. But there had to be a point when the constant deflections, complicated excuses and aborted plans form a blatant pattern sooner than later, provoking logic and common sense for the "target" to then question the validity of it all.
If something is eroding your confidence and dignity to such a humiliating point, you have a choice to stop before you lose all dignity. It certainly is sad for the targets, but even sadder that all the signals were there to see.
Sad that they still *chose* to stay in it as long as they did.

ReplyDeleteOh No!! I suffer from scoliosis and wore a back brace in high school until I was done growing (at which point braces are no longer helpful) and this storyline is so hard for me to watch. I don't think I can watch if Kody and Christine continue down this path of gaslighting Ysabel into believing the curvature can be controlled much less improved by these exercises. The crazy, wonky homemade "exercise" bar with the duct tape all over it was nuts and looked like something a crackpot would devise.

The best thing thing she can do for herself is wear the hard brace 24 hours a day until she is done growing - the brace fitted and prescribed by the actual orthopedic surgeon. Per as usual they are sidetracked with medically unrecognized b.s. (like the water they sell!) This Michigan "scoliosis bootcamp" man is a chiropractor preying on susceptible people--which completely and accurately describes the Browns.

Can't forget that Kody is the same father who was present and unaware when his small daughter was so ill and so dehydrated that she was in kidney shutdown and needed dialysis to recover.
It's really appalling that instead of researching more proven scoliosis treatment, he gives film time and PR perks to the chiro center with its contrived device.

There is no money for modern medicine and proven science. Let’s just make a ridiculous contraption out of pvc pipe and duct tape and the child can blame herself for not “excerising “ enough. After all there are four more vacant lots to be pissed on and 4 more ugly ass, cheap McMansions to be built in AZ. That property is way more important than the health of a third wife’s child. I think we can all attribute the lack of medical attention to $$$.
DeleteI wore a scoliosis corset for six years. I can still remember crying as myom or grandma pulled the laces at the back so tight I could barely breathe. I still have scars where the damn thing chafed my skin. But l didn't need surgery and it didn't stop me from becoming a middle school, high school and college athlete. Ysabel, wear your brace. Do your therapy and listen to your docs.

Him and Christine both are leading Isabel to believe if she just works hard enough she can change her outcome and it’s just child abuse in my opinion
ReplyDeleteIt is awful and hard to watch. Yes, the rigid white brace is uncomfortable - it has to be to do it's job of keeping the spine in place. It is miserable and I can see why Ysabel would rather listen to the bootcamp quack. The "brace" he has developed is soft and flexible; you can easily move and walk in it. But that is the very issue with it being ineffective! With time I was able to adjust and do many activities in my rigid brace.
DeleteI was very concerned during the last season when she referred to her rigid (medically prescribed and fitted!) brace as the "nighttime" brace and the hokey made up thing by the chiropractor in Michigan as her "daytime" brace. I am wondering if her orthopedic surgeon is aware she is picking and choosing how and when she wears the prescribed brace? It's like the Brown's are hedging their bets---stupid enough to go along with the soft brace that is sanctioned medically by NO ONE---but not so stupid as to disregard the orthopedic surgeon all together--so they are splitting it down the middle 1/2 the day in one and night in the other. This is dangerous at best as she really needs to be in the rigid brace when she is walking and active. Per as usual the Browns have it completely backwards, at the very least they should have reversed when she wears them.
Just watched the last episode, because the first time thru preoccupied with getting ready for the work week...the B and B scene. So weird that Meri , the least happiest wife, the one that sought a new partner, the one that challenged Kody from day one, asking how he would like it if she were with other men....puts so much into this original home of her polygamous family. They show a photo of a row of wives and none of them look happy or content. They look miserable beyond the usual stoic pose of the day. Why, why does she want this house haunted with sisterwives tears? The lonely nights with your husband in the next room “ warming” the feet of another woman. Is this just another “wet bar” ? Something to get attention and set her apart from the others? She appears so needy and lonely. And yet she claims to be the independent strong willed, tough love wife. Yeah, right. That may have been the case before Robchyn, but now it’s been 10 years of one stunt after another to fight the power and get the attention she craves. Look at me... I need to have a baby, I need to go to college, I need a house as big as yours, I need a wet bar, I need a new squeeze, I need a B and B ....me, me, me look at me!!!!!

ReplyDeleteThe pictures of her home online show a backyard that has had substantial landscaping/terracing compared to the others. I remember a scene where they put in the playground equipment, but there is a fire pit - different levels in the yard much more elaborate than the others!!
