I think this picture epitomizes the entire season. Don't you agree?
I certainly can't imagine Kody kissing Christine's tummy when she was pregnant with Truely. Oh yeah, you better believe he was too busy courting Robyn. And something tells me Janelle would have slapped the taste right out of Kody's mouth if he tried something like that with her!!

What are your thoughts?
As a single woman waiting to adopt, it pains me to watch these idiots "collect" children who they have no intention of paying any attention to. So many of us would love the chance to have just one child, and to devote our time and attention to raising a human being who knows how much they are loved.

Kody only has eyes for Sobbin and his many displays of affection to her (and her kids) have left us in no doubt about it. What a farce.... surely the other wives can see what we see...... can only presume they're more interested in the tlc paycheck.

DeleteI wanted to make a quick correction to my previous post - while People reported that Christine wasn't part of the Tamron Hall 2 hour tell nothing airing Nov. 22 - in the preview, although it's shaded, you can clearly see Christine sitting on the sofa beside Meri. The other 3 are sitting on a sofa across from Meri & Christine. A direct quote from the promo; "Tamron Hall grills Meri on the circumstances of her emotional online affair." Well Tamron, we have never seen you "grill" anyone from this silly show.....it was interesting in the preview clip that Meri admits to meeting in person the woman form of the catfish.

Hard to say if they really will do the catfish tale all the way through. History and experience with TLC's idea of a "SW tell all" says it is doubtful.
DeleteWhat I hope they DON"T do is have the fab five sit there and watch a clip after clip, then Tamron asks the vapid questions that go nowhere except to elicit closeups of tears, grimaces or in Janelle's case, vacant stares. They did it that way last time and it was not good TV.
And TLC may intend to let *just* enough out and then stops it with a "Is Meri now leaving or not" as the cliffhanger doe next season....I could see them doing that.

DeleteI'm prepared for the "tell-all" to be nothing more than more propaganda about how the Browns are victimized and persecuted for their lifestyle and beliefs and how poor Meri was just plucked out of Twittersphere with no honest admission from her about the things she said and wrote to the person she professed her love to. If only once, any of the Brown adults would own up to the part they play in the circumstances they find themselves I might be a bit more sympathetic, but they haven't, so I'm not.
Did Janelle really say she was putting on armor and going to war? Its so opposite of what we know of her, did she or her kids say she would 'slam doors' when mad/shut herself away and we know she doesn't like confrontation, all the counseling talk...

DeleteOkay, I watched and at approximately 8 mins 58 secs into episode 1, Kody does give Christine's tummy a playful peck and says afterward something about truly scrumptious. BUT he did not hold her stomach with both hands with eyes closed like he's doing in the photo with Robyn. It was almost as if he was told by a producer to kiss Christine's stomach, and as if an after thought, he does. It was a peck, nothing like the photo above where Kody looks like he is worshiping Robyn's stomach and the brownie inside.

DeleteThe thing that stands out the most to me from this picture is that I would think it was cute and a sweet moment if I didn't know Kody has 3 wives and a ton of kids he chooses to ignore because he'd rather be with Robyn and her kids. They've really done a good job showing how lonely and miserable polygamy is, the other wives and kids are always being left out when the husband is with someone else. No way around it, it sucks being a woman married into polygamy, having to take care of your many kids and being grateful for any small ounce of attention your husband gives you and even if you're the favorite it could change in a heartbeat. Look at how quick Meri was eclipsed by Robyn, even losing her legal status to her whereas a few year before she ruled the harem. I can see why so many plyg women look old and worn down before their time.
ReplyDeleteThis show is always all about Kody showboating every single situation to bring the most attention on to himself and this picture is no exception. I get the feeling that Robyn isn't that gung-ho about having a lot more children, this may be her last Brownie ever. Maybe then we'll get to see Kody go crazy until he find another sad woman to marry and bear his kids while Robyn snaps. For the sake of any future Brown babies, I hope this is the last baby Kody Brown ever has, but I doubt it.
As MrSpock was flipping thru the channels last night, there, out of the blue, at 9:15 p.m. central time, was a 10-15 minute segment on TLC entitled "Meri Catfished." Waiting to be intrigued, instead, we were mostly shown Logan & Michelle, and Maddie & Caleb, out on a double date in Alaska---talking about: 1) not going the polygamist route, 2) Maddie being concerned that her future children will not have the "benefit" of having 4 "moms" like she did, 3) Logan's plan to insist that his future children call all 4 "moms,." "Grandma.," 5) how it was a challenge for Maddie and Logan to date when people found out they were from polygamy.
ReplyDeleteIn a couch session, the adults made clear that Logan and Michelle are not engaged, but are still on their school paths. MrSpock cannot remember everything, but seems to recall there was more nonsense from Robyn and others about "watching" Caleb. MrSpock posits that since those 4 women chose polygamy, that their views on what makes a good marriage are suspect.

They played that one often enough during the season to suggest it would be wrapped up at season's end. But maybe not......as usual.
I am also wondering if they will ever wrap up the faux cancer scare. Did I miss something?? I don't believe they ever finished that storyline...it was so very unethical, but worse to just bring it up as a valid concern that she may have cancer and then never close the loop. Bizarre.

The stereotyping of drastic weight loss with cancer was offensive. Scare tactics for ratings. It's Season 1, Episode 4 "Third Wife in Labor". About 10 mins 24 secs in, Christine calls Kody and tells him her water just broke. Kody kissing Robyn as he leaves for the hospital is at about 10 mins 44 secs. It's available on Amazon and only 22 minutes long (without commercials).

DeleteI was on the catfisher website and I notice that some of those pictures made no sense like why would she send a photo top of her kitchen cabinets?. Also the photo of her in a batman shirt is her cause if you look at some of the photos she has a red mark on the upper side of her chest. The one of her in the bathroom don't know.

DeleteMeri is most likely simply showing off her house to her lover. She is obviously the most house "proud" of the bunch and they have said that she likes things "just so" in the past. Looking at her photos, especially these new ones, she was caught hook, line and sinker. She was caught up in the fantasy and sharing herself. It's a shame that she is so emotionally stunted by her life in a tiny religious bubble that it allowed her to be led so quickly and so easily. Most people develop a bullshit meter as they mature and date and love and lose. She stepped from childhood to marriage, except she seems to be very young, teen age childlike with her dealings with the Joker. Her desperate voicemails give that away.
DeleteI've never been a Meri fan, especially after reading their book and knowing how she knew polygamy was on the table full and clear from the very beginning and yet could not handle it once it did happen. I believe a whole lot of that families issues sprouted straight from Meri's side, yet I still feel sorry for what she is going through. I can't imagine what that shame must feel like. Let alone having it so publicly displayed. In the end...you make your bed, you must sleep in it. That's the true reality of the world.

ReplyDeleteThe picture wasn't that clear, like a lot of them, but I took that picture of the leg totally differently. I thought it was Meri's leg. It looks to me like she scraped at her leg with something until the skin raised up. And then she took a picture of his name for him, to show her devotion. Kind of like a temporary tattoo. That's pretty kinky and sicko, considering Meri never met him. But I could be totally wrong.

The perspective of the photo makes it look bigger, and if you look beneath the arm at the odd fuzzy pattern...it looks like that armless couch in her sitting area living room. If you look at the couch layout in an earlier photo, it has a small dark brown thick frame on the wall, with a partial wall right behind it. The arm looks like it was photographed facing the back of the couch with the wall and frame in the back.

DeleteI went through an 'experimental' period when I was in high school and got into a very 'intense' relationship with another girl in my class. It was like a parody of a reality show because everything was so dramatic and theatrical (probably really unhealthy looking back on it). We were theater kids which didn't help, I'm sure.
Long story short- at one point she got very maudlin and drunk and scratched my name into her arm (like a temporary tattoo).
I was HORRIFIED. Even at 15 years old I knew that was too much and not acceptable. When she sobered up even SHE realized how weird and abnormal it was...at the tender age of 15 we realized that scratching someone's name into your body was WEIRD and creepy as hell.
I've always thought that these women were emotionally stunted at the age of a bunch of high schoolers but this solidified it. A happy, confident, well balanced and emotionally secure adult woman (a mother, wife, and person striving to work in the mental health field) would not and should not have the same romantic impulse as an overly dramatic teen. ESPECIALLY someone who has said many times that she has and wants to continue working with 'at risk youth'.
These women are raw nerves. I'm astounded at their thought process and how they justify so many unhealthy and straight up damaging emotional (and sometimes physical) choices. I am really starting to doubt any of them can properly care for themselves much less children.
Finally had a chance to look at "it's" picture page. As much as I can't stand Meri, it is the first time I have seen her looking genuinely happy and pretty as a result of it.

DeleteI've looked at all the photos and honestly, I don't think they are doctored. In all the snaps and such of Meri and the family that are floating around online, well, Meri has a 'game face' that she is usually sporting. A no emotion face that doesn't give away anything. I've always thought she was quite a bland person because she really doesn't outwardly react, at least in her face.
DeleteKind of like that blank stare that Janelle has, she keeps her face frozen, but you know her mind is clicking away. Christine gives everything away and can't hide her emotions one little bit. Robyn, well, c'mon, she just looks like she is going to, or is crying at all times. But the camera has caught some real emotion (and not in a good way) over the years.
But these photos show a Meri that I don't think we have ever seen. She is doing her best to catch her "alluring" eyes in selfies, and show off her cleavage...ugh...she has removed that game face because she thought she was impressing a man. Many of the random house shots are out of focus and just bad photos, it's hard to doctor that because the different focus within the photo would stand out. I don't think they are doctored at all to be honest.
The best lies always have truth within them. The Joker is carrying on like "he" is real, yet never gives away actual proof, just more of a narrative to keep people coming back. These photos look real to me, proof that Meri was very deeply emotionally involved.
There is a part of me, a not very nice part, that wants the "tell-all" to show a giant blow up of that bloody banana photo when Meri is on the couch with Kody looking at it. That not very nice part of me really wants to see his face looking at the photo and knowing that is loyal Labrador retriever of a wife isn't so loyal after all.
I truly think that the whole pap smear, cancer thing was their way of trying to cover the whole damn thing up, and then they realized that they had to address it. I think Meri on camera talking about it is her punishment from Kody. She has to be fully humiliated to show her "respect for the family".
Wouldn't it be bizarre if *in reality* and when it is off-season with no cameras around, they ALL dress in tanks tops, shorts, cleavage on display??

DeleteArk of Snark. Adult AUB members wear long undergarments they call the "priesthood garment" or the "temple garment." It doesn't matter where they live or how hot it is, they are required to wear them night and day next to their skin and under any other underwear.To take them off is considered a very serious sin because it indicates breaking promises to "God." This clothing is fairly high-necked, has long sleeves, and legs to the ankles. Some women roll up the legs and sleeves a little. Some members will take them off to swim, but hardliners refuse to. In some of the Meri pics, it's hard to see how she could be wearing them. They are a complete nightmare to wear in the heat , and they have thick ties down the front so if you wear anything smooth it can give a lumpy look. Buying clothes that look nice and accommodate these undergarments was always next to impossible for me. Not being trussed up like a turkey for the oven is one of my greatest joys today!

Storylines that go nowhere, scenes presented out of timeline sequence, big reveals that are filmed so far in advance everyone already knows what the big reveal is, contradicting conversations, previews of the show that aren’t what they seem when the episode is watched, cliffhangers that are never explained, etc. I agree with a previous poster this show is a catfish. I am beginning to believe TLC does have something to do with this catfish situation and will ride it out for everything they can get.
ReplyDeleteAccording to the catfish nothing will be revealed on tonight’s show. During the filming of this episode as far as Meri was concerned “they” were still together. Meri is going to tell the family she wants to take a break from them and that is all she is going to say.

DeleteAgree!! I bet the contrived scene with the adults at the restaurant with Meri saying she has something to tell them is how they will end tonight's show. Ensuring we will all tune in for the tell nothing with Tamron. They will not give much on the subject tonight or the remaining few who might be motivated to watch the 2 hour tell nothing would not bother to watch.

ReplyDeleteFirst their #1 hit/Dugger Show gets slammed with scandal. A big scandal that exposed just how bogus their family philosophy and process really was. Turns out there were problems all along.
And now Kodyworld, bastion of multiplied love bliss, has its own scandal and obvious cover ups.
What does TLC do? For the Duggers, they let the ashes settle after pulling the main show and get to work prepping for two of the sisters to have their own spin off, no doubt with more preaching and more pregnancies. The show ($$$) must go on.
SW? We will have to wait and see just how they will spin it.
Question is...does the Joker have any more devious deeds (info) regarding Meri and SW up her sleeves/ claws ??
One constant remains, though. All the scandals produce massive PR for TLC.
The other constant remains that regardless of the shame that these people should feel...they don't. The paycheck trumps all. No need to get right with the Lord (the one that they profess to do all this for) and maybe take some time to heal issues..................nope, act even more stupid, lie even more on camera.
DeleteI'm thinking that the Joker has been played out. Once it started posting pictures and voice mails in a blog, a lot of people have started to realize just how "stalkerish" the Joker seems. As I (and many many other people) have said, you don't just take pictures inside a person's house or keep hundreds of voice mails and texts for nothing. The Joker was waiting for the end game and when that was thwarted - (meaning Meri refused to give in - most likely the catfisher wanted to move in with Meri (that was her m/o) and Kody said HELL NO!!!) it moved on to plan B - threatening Meri to comply or embarrassing texts and vm will be made public, and when THAT didn't work, the catfisher realized the game was over (ie, her cover was blown by Nick OConner and others who came forward with info this wasn't the catfisher's first time grifting vulnerable women) so it just started posting incriminating "evidence" of Meri's twitter romance.
DeleteThe only problem...Meri acknowledged she was catfished and most likely will either devote a couple of episodes to this "affair" or even write a book. Meanwhile, old catfisher is left high and dry in Shidler OK...with nothing. Well, not exactly nothing. There are some really bad photos of the catfisher back home in OK thanks to some online gossip rags, and those priceless mugshots of her being booked into the county jail....
Maybe two books could be in the offing.
DeleteDepending on how ruthless IT is, she too could be seduced by the opportunity to make some filthy bucks doing her own tell-all with filling in the details of what Meri may have shared about the family and the show. Easy to imagine an unscrupulous publisher backing such a deal. Or a gossip mag or low-budget show jumping on.too.
Unless.......a deal (with threats of a lawsuit) has already been struck between her and the Browns for a moratorium going forward. I guess we'll see.
It's interesting to me the relationship that TLC has with People Mag. The preview of the tell all is on People, not even on TLC. If the preview is any indication, much of 70 to 80 minutes of actual program are going to be taken up looking at 3 or 4 red faced crying women, who aren't really saying anything. Come on ladies, stop acting like 15 year olds. When you desolve into tears over any uncomfortable subject, yes that will stop most conversation or questions. But it will also reveal you to be an emotionally stunted individual. It takes more than empty words about putting on your armor and going to war. Adults actually have to evolve and own their own crap. I'm so bone tired of the persecuted victim garbage coming from the Browns. I'm ashamed of myself for continuing to watch this because I just realized Kody has come out looking the best in this catfish debacle. jmo

The Browns say they have such high values, sky high love..yadda yadda. but come on..this catfish scam never could have gotten to the point it did without a major breakdown in the sky high love but everybody wants to concentrate on the con artist.

ReplyDeleteIt would be a real treat if they have been reading our blog and for this tell nothing show; 1. have a professional do their makeup (which means no false eyelashes for anyone or fake tanner for Meri) 2. Have a stylist pick out their clothes 3. Christine stays in her seat the entire show (no storming off as in previous tell nothings) 4. Robyn keeps her hands in her lap (no picking at eyes, etc. or playing with hair) 5. All the women refrain from crying.

There is a difference between makeup for the camera and stage makeup.There is nothing worse on a middle aged woman than harsh lines around the eyes or obviously drawn on eyebrows. It has the look of a ventriloquist's dummy. Lol, Kody's makeup did succeed in making him look more caveman-like with his darkened eyebrows.

ReplyDeleteI really think some of us here are giving Kody and Robyn too much credit by stating they "pressured" or otherwise coerced Meri into the divorce. Meri made no secret of the fact that she was quite content in her rental house, away from the other family members. She probably wanted to get a divorce and leave for a long time, and the adoption excuse was a handy cover. No one would cast aspersions on her loyalty to the family, and she gets the divorce that she wants, while looking like a selfless martyr. The anticipated result: she gets a**-kissing from the rest of the family, her legal ties to Kody would be severed, and she could skip out on a moment's notice. It could have looked like a win-win for her.
ReplyDeleteThe problems started because she didn't expect to be so easily discarded by Kody after the divorce. I think Meri really thought she would maintain her power and standing after the divorce, and it shocked her when it was gone. The resulting insecurity, anger, etc., made her vulnerable to the Joker, and the mess that followed.
And as far as the rest of the family, if the viewers picked up on Meri's distance and disinterest, they obviously saw it as well. The only reason they would have to encourage her to stay is for the show; otherwise I doubt they care very much. They aren't the most empathetic bunch (remember how no one comforted Robyn when she "couldn't breath" while talking about the adoption), and they already experienced Janelle leaving.
Another thing to consider is that when a woman leaves a man in a polygamist cult (at least in AUB, anyway) it's a great drop in status for the man concerned and his harem. Although they blame the woman who leaves, it is also insinuated that it might be the fault of the man and his other girlfriends. A lot is at stake in keeping these women firmly fettered, and ironically it is often the women who enable it.
DeleteJanelle was divorced already - and estranged from her family, so who would he ask to court her. He should have used Christine as an example, Robyn already gave up the purity! He's sooo dense! Unless he made poor Caleb sit through every example of how it was for King Kody to go courtin' and we got the edited, "all about Robyn" version.

ReplyDeleteI think their will be lots of tuned in viewers tonight for the season finale. I don't think, they will delve deeply into the catfish fiasco. They're just trying to have another huge ratings season finale like they did for the divorce marriage debacle. So basically TLC is trying to catfish viewers by dangling Meri's catfishN' scenes. I won't be watching! I'll be coming here for the snark tho.

DeleteJust curious, I know it's been mentioned about the real identity of the joker's photo, but has anyone come forth claiming they are him or know him? If I were him and saw my photo being used in such a disgusting manner, I'd be crying foul and looking into the legal ramifications. Could it be this guy is in cahoots with that woman? And is OK with it? More than half his face is visible, so someone should be able to identify him.
ReplyDeleteMuch love to everyone here, especially CJ, I haven't posted much because of device problems, but I've been here every step of the way... ok... I'm sick of ALL of them, I firmly believe they will stop at nothing, absolutely nothing to keep the TLC money going... I think every move is scripted, every tweet, every post, every quote is all to keep the show going.... from Robyn's Twitter melt down last spring, to the leaked divorce, to the adoption, and yes even the catfish...granted, I think the catfish thing may have started as rouse to keep Twitter followers at attention, and became something she couldn't handle. Maybe Meri developed real feelings, or just got caught up in the fantasy, in conjunction with the catfish being a genuine psychopath, and needless to say, the situation got away from her. My point is however, that the Browns are not upset, or shocked or surprised, it might suck a little because it may not have gone according to plan, but don't kid yourself they are THRILLED at the buzz! The were in people twice in one season! THAT'S A WIN! Anyone else agree?

I do love this blog and all the posters, who are spot on with their comments. CJ could be a PI. I haven't read anywhere or missed it, but does this catfish have a "real" job? It seems a lot of time and planning were put into this fiasco. There had to have been some thought for some kind of rewards other than a few weeks of bad press. Who paid for the trips to Vegas and Disneyland? Very confusing the timeline,and a the money spent on gifts(ring, flowers, trips) for not some sort of shake down planned. Maybe past suckers paid for silence. Meri must not have any access to extra funds to keep the photos from being posted. A 40+ pious plyg surely doesn't want a picture of her in a bathrobe with her nipples very visible posted for the world to see! I cringe at the thought of all "her" kids seeing those pics. People famous or not just don't get the fact that once you put something out there, it's always out there. The one you love today may be the one you hate next week. As scroungy as the Browns are, they have provided many life lessons on what not to do. I'm sure we could make a long list of what not to do, beginning by not introducing your husband to a back stabbing witch .

ReplyDeleteSo disappointed with the show last night...we didn't need to hear Meri's statement reiterated 20 times again. I was really hoping to see everyone else's reactions. I don't have high hopes for the Tell All....Tamron Hall does not get into the nitty gritty with them....her Tell Alls are so boring. They should have brought Natalie back for this one! And...did I miss it? Did they ever address Meri's health issues that they left us hanging on mid-season? The adoption storyline took over and again - they just beat it to death. So boring.
ReplyDeleteWow. Kody was so disinterested in Meri's future with the family. As if that was something the wives could sort out. The other women spoke of Meri being so detached from them. That's because her husband is so detached from her. And obviously she's had a dysfunctional meltdown unable to get a job or go to school, having an imaginary relationship with a stranger online and going so far as to send photos and leave voice mails.

Whether or not she leaves the culdesac, she should get a dog and get a job and perhaps see a non-polygamist therapist who can add some terminology to her inability to explain her simple feelings such as "I felt abandoned." "I feel alone." "I am frightened about my future because Kody doesn't want to take care of me and I can't take care of myself." I think she and Kody are over and she should think about finding another man.
I don't know why I watch Sister Wives. I actually stopped for awhile. That's why I haven't been on here in ages. Then, one night...Needless to say, I got sucked back in. It's like everything, except the dynamics between Robyn and Kody has changed. LOL!!
ReplyDeleteWhere do I even start? The divorce was definitely Robyn and Kody's idea. Trust me. They pressured Meri for the divorce. I really cannot stand Meri, Kody, or Robyn, especially Robyn. However, I hope Meri didn't sign away her entire life with that divorce, but I don't see Meri being smart enough to do that. Judging from the show, they only used one lawyer. That tells me that Meri wasn't savvy enough to protect herself.
I'm not familiar with Nevada adoption law. Maybe, someone could school me. However, in some states, the adopting party(ies) do not necessarily have to be married. For instance, I'm fairly certain in my state and NY, the adopting parent(s) don't have to be married. IDK. Maybe, that only applies to gay/lesbian couples, because I know gay/lesbian couples in my state and NY, who adopted jointly long before SSM became legal in either of those states and even Anyway, the whole adoption fiasco seemed to be contrived in order to get Meri to divorce Kody, so he marry that scheming little tramp, Robyn. The adoption was just ruse to get Meri to go along with the divorce. Btw, when did Robyn find the time to add a baby to her household? I thought she was so busy with My Sister Wives' Closet that she didn't have time to have another baby? Is her "joory" business doing that well now?
Now, there's this catfish scandal. Meri is beyond naive and desperate for attention. Overton is a scumbag. Mark my words. Robyn is an integral player in this scam. She had something to do with it. I just know it. Kody might be in on it or he might not. However, he didn't seem to be too devastated by the news. He really didn't seem shocked either. I can just picture him rubbing his grubby hands together, while thinking that he can finally get rid of Meri.
The last time I watched the show, Janelle wasn't happy and didn't mind saying that she felt detached and didn't seem to care, who knew including fans. Christine was still extremely unhappy about her relationship with Kody. She was still having trouble adjusting to the changes that adding Robyn to the family brought. Now, Janelle has all this positive energy and Christine is as giddy as school girl. Weird!! Even before the catfish story broke, Janelle and Christine acted like they had a secret that they could hardly contain. They just seemed a tad too happy.
Because Robyn is the only one he actually courted....
