It doesn't help matters that the Browns have been extremely quiet, no doubt due to the major embarrassment of former legal wife Meri Brown after her very public Twitter escapade with a Catfisher became widely known.
And that banana picture didn't help, either.
But if you look hard enough, there are still some Brown gems to be found...even that insufferable Catfisher brought a smile to my cynical lips. I mean, really. Who would've thunk it. Engaged, to a Bradley Cooper lookalike no less.

Anyway, I was reading Kody Brown's retweets today. He's trying so hard to show the world that he has more on his mind besides Robyn, their soon to be born baby girl, and a former legal wife who would have left her cul-de-sac McMansion in a New York minute if "Sam the Sham" had truly been a man and a millionaire, instead of a Catfishing ne'er do well.
Like, I'm holding my breath for that e-book to be published. Maybe 2017? Yeah, right.
So here's my choice for the two most ironic (if not moronic) statements that have put the cherry on top of the year 2015. Made by two people who really really deserve each other.

Here's something interesting. For all you SWB fans, you might remember this twitter account as being THE LAST WORD for all things Sister Wives. Run by a married couple who were die hard fans and "friends" of Robyn (but with slightly more decorum than JYD) they suddenly dropped from the scene shortly after Robyn birthed King Sol. Now that JYD has been, once again, kicked to the curb, the old Kody Family Twitter suddenly sprung back to life.

Hmmmm....does this mean Robyn once again has kicked JYD out of the cul-de-sac? Are they still best buds? Will Robyn ever be seen in the same picture frame with JYD again? AND WHAT WAS JYD's ROLE IN THE CATFISH AFFAIR?
And before leaving, let's ponder some New Year's Resolutions Kody and his Kodettes should attempt for this new year. I think Kody should be nicer to Christine and start courting that elusive 5th wife, just to even the score with Brady Williams and his Five Wives. I'm in need for another classic, late night Robyn Twitter meltdown complete with post-birth, no makeup selfies that shows the audience the true Robyn. Happy New Year everyone ! Here's my prediction for 2016 ...... one of the four wifies will put an end to this sham of a programme by leaving and spewing out the real version of this "lifestyle". My money is on Christine backed by her mom Annie, not watched all the last series but didn't really see Annie feature much...... did she actually speak at all ? My feeling is she totally disapproves of Kody and his treatment of Christine and will eventually manage to talk some sense into her. It would make sense for one of them to desert this sinking ship and capitalise on it before it's too late. Well we'll see, looking forward to what 2016 brings to the cul de sac as well as the new Brownie.

I'm sure off camera Annie has plenty to say...she did leave polygamy so I'm sure she would totally support Christine walking away. Sadly I think Christine is the least likely to leave. She seems really entrenched in the religion. It might take one of her kids, maybe Aspyn, to talk some sense into her.
DeleteIt's probably good for Christine and the 4 children still at home for Annie to be there. I'm assuming that Christine and her mother get along well at the present time. She probably puts her daughter and grandchildren first, which they could use with the pecking order in that family. Also, the next time Christine gets distracted, driving with the others all over creation shopping for another phoney filmed family party, grandma will be at home. Unlike Kody, I bet she will make sure to water Truely.
DeleteWhat we saw of Annie last season makes me think that she is not Kody's biggest fan and also not happy with Christine living the polygamist lifestyle. I also think she is there to help Christine keep it together and will be Christine's biggest supporter WHEN she decides to leave Kody. I can't see that relationship lasting too much longer. Christine must have realized what a jerk he is after viewing the anniversary trip on TV last season.

Whether Kody and Robyn want to admit it, they ARE living as monogamists, which when you think about it, monogamy is the only form of marriage Robyn has ever lived. So it doesn't matter how many times Kody spouts his "Love is to be multiplied and not divided" crap, there are only so many hours in a day and he simply doesn't have the skills to effectively manage his time so that ALL his wives and children can enjoy equal time with him.
The sharing the husband thing isn't working, and completely broke down when Robyn joined the family. And I wouldn't be surprised if Robyn isn't leading Kody by the nose in shunning Meri for embarrassing Robyn's very weird views of a plural family. I mean, who commissions an oil painting where she took an old photo of Kody with Janelle and her kids, and conveniently had Janelle and kids erased while inserting Robyn's kids into the portrait? That was bizarre and so very very wrong!
CPA Carol and CJ, I totally agree. I don't see Kody spending the rest of his life with the older wives, and he ain't no spring chicken so he probably won't win any younger chick without a house full of kids or one with some worse baggage than Robyn, so he will stick it out with Robyn...I don't think Kody can be in love with any of the women because I don't think Kody is true to himself...and he is a narcissist...all one has to do is watch him around the cameras and it all becomes about him...he cannot even walk through the kitchen without eating the others food for attention...he has to be the center. But, Robyn makes him look better than orange Meri, and overweight Christine, and obese Janelle. Plus, Meri, Christine, and Janelle have the emotional maturity of a 12 year old and so does Robyn but she does manage to watch a little Oprah so she can say a few buzz words that makes her seem emotionally sound. Poor Christine is the last of all the wives that he wants anything to do with and even Meri's betrayal doesn't land her beneath Christine. I imagine when Christine found out about Meri's cat fishing, she ran through the house jumping and clapping and giggling thinking she was going to move up...poor poor girl. I agree that her mother is there to keep Christine off the floor and the kids tended to and it would be nice if she could rescue her daughter but I don't think anyone can help her....she loves Kody...shit, she would have to love him to put up with the verbal and mental abuse.

DeleteI think it could be sooner than 10 years. I'd like to know what the older offspring are saying to their respective Moms. The older the offspring get, the more exposure they have to peers who did not grow up like them. Logan's girlfriend for example. People who (if married) saw their parents every day, could knock on the parents bedroom door and expect both parents to be there, whose parents weren't supporting 4 household and 18 people. People with divorced parents still didn't have to share their parents like this family does. They've got to be wondering what their ?lives would have been like growing up. I know Maddie made some comment about 4 Moms being great - but she's still young.

DeleteI think Annie was not doing well financially, Christine needed help since her girls were moving out (which, don't get me started on this grown middle aged woman who doesn't work outside the home needing help to raise her kids, especially one who supposedly raised everybody else's kids). Anywho, I think the Browns are living good (for now), Annie could use the financial help and Christine could use the emotional help. I like Annie and I hope she won't start lying for the camera and the TLC money.

DeleteI don't understand why any of the wives would have to bring in extra "help" (Annie and didn't Robyn have a relative staying with her at one point?). With all those older kids plus Meri (who doesn't have any kids at home), why would they have to the help of outside caregivers? There really are only 2 little ones who need a lot of supervision -- all of the other kids are old enough to help with chores and to help watch the younger siblings. I wish they would just be honest for once. If the issue is that Annie has financial problems, then say that.

DeleteI believe it is most likely that Annie's move to LV was mutually beneficial. It's plausible that Annbie was struggling financially, and we know that Christine has been suffering from depression and could use the emotional support. Plus, she's lost her "child care" with the girls going to college. She does travel a lot for the show, and I'm sure Christine isn't afforded the same budget for nannies that Robyn is allowed. Personally, I think that Annie's presence is one of the healthier decisions the family has made in recent years.

Her moving in with her reality star daughter doesn't automatically void her right to privacy, she isn't putting anything in front of our face. If she moved in for finances/to take care of Christine/to rescue Christine/whatever, it's really not my place to know. The Browns don't have to talk about it because it's not their place to say.
DeleteWith all due respect, Annie is on a reality TV show. She may not be the star, but she's been shown on camera plenty of times and has even spoken a few times. It's only natural that the viewing audience is going to speculate about all these things that may not be our business, but you kinda lose that privacy when you go on a reality TV show. If you or I go on TV, people are going to dig into our business. It's the nature of the beast. I'm sure when she gets her cut from Christine's TLC money, she goes to sleep just fine at night.

DeleteMy theory...Meri, being an easy target because of LIV meetings at the house and the divorce, had already been reeled in by her catfish when JYD got wind of it. Robyn, who is a textbook sociopath, had JYD start gathering info ASAP. I'm sure the first thing Robyn did was check to see if "Sam" was really a billionaire so she could weasel her way into stealing him from Meri. After she confirmed he wasn't real, she just let the whole thing unfold. Robyn and JYD most likely spent hours laughing at poor Meri as the whole "love affair" escalated. When Meri was deep in love, Robyn tricked Meri into confiding in her. She then pounced and reported the affair to Kody not long after. Meanwhile JYD was still "on the case" spinning out of control as usual trying to convince people Sam was real so TLC cut her off from the family.
JYD is probably trolling to meet her next Z list celebrity the same way she met Robyn. She goes on social media and "defends" the celebrity from "haters" to get their attention. Most won't take the bait but Robyn did so who knows???
I also wouldn't be surprised if Robyn and JYD are still contacting each other. Sociopaths do like to keep their pawns available for use and keep them quiet. If JYD gets caught up with another "celebrity" she might not be available to make "like" pages for Robyn and do other dirty work. If JYD DOESN'T find another celebrity the spite might take over and who knows what she has on the Browns. Sociopaths always have a Plan A, B, and C. Robyn is very cunning. She would be even more dangerous if she was intelligent.
If Robyn was the good polygamist wife who claims to be wrongly vilified by the American public, she would not let Kody spend all of his time with her and her/their kids. She lets it happen even though it is so obviously painful to the others. She is selfish. We all know Kody is selfish, but I believe he'll do whatever Robyn wants (for now) and she should be telling him to go see and support the rest of his family.

DeleteI suspect that the reason Robyn then is so very different from the Robyn now is she simply observed the family. She got to know the whole dynamic of Kody and all his individual relationships with each wife and made sure she fit into what KODY thinks he wants. When Robyn gets pissy Kody is a very different person with her. Something that even flaky Christine noticed. She is a very conniving woman and has given him a new experienced woman in the bedroom, it is obvious that he is p**sy wipped (to be crass). I believe she watched the dynamic as a whole and altered herself to fit...of course to fit in her own best interest of course.
The other wives have been around long enough to have plenty of baggage. Baggage with each other, baggage with Kody etc etc. Robyn just figured out the whole picture and then painted herself into it...just like she recently did with her children.
I think they browns are quiet because Robyn may have had the baby already and they are afraid the secret may slip out. I have always thought they were not telling the truth about the due date.

DeleteI have to dispel this, it's been driving me bonkers. In the episode with the ultrasound for the gender, you can CLEARLY see in the upper corner the date and how far along she is, which puts her bang on for her due date.
DeleteShe's probably showing really big because she's had five kids and she's in her mid-late thirties. This has been making me crazy since the speculation started. I'm not a Brown sympathizer by any means but it's such a sensitive and offensive topic that I really had to point it out.
That explanation/excuse Kody gave as to why he was kissing Robyn when Christine was in labor was such an insulting lie! It made me so mad that he thought people would buy it, and indeed some did.

For one, Robyn wasn't his "wife" at the time, just his girlfriend. Second, this wasn't a planned out thing. Robyn ran out the door to catch up with him and make out with him. It wouldn't have happened otherwise. So Kodys excuse was pure bs.
Bet you Kody won't even bother to kiss anyone else this time, when Robyn is in labor.

DeleteUsually on these reality shows, there are some sort of interesting and likeable people, along with an unlikeable or antagonist-type or two. This show has none of the former and all of the latter. There is no one that stands out that you can root for, not including the kids. The women are beaten down and accept their fate. Self-made martyrs. Devoid of sparkling personalities, intelligence, humor and warmth, they are just playing their parts in the show. Robyn is a total emasculating shrew when her real personality comes out and a cloying, clingy helpless female when it suits her. Kody is a selfish jerk, he is Charlie Sheen without the drugs, looks and talent. So why do I watch? I don't know. I guess I want to see how they'll handle a reversal of fortune when they will eventually long for the days when someone actually came up to them for a picture or autograph or recognized them in public. Eventually, Kody will be sitting at a table selling autographs for $5 bucks a pop, along with Butch Patrick (Eddie Munster) and Ted Lange (bartender from the Love Boat) at an 'I-used-to-be-famous' autograph show.
ReplyDeleteWaiting in line at the pharmacy, I noticed an Us Weekly magazine cover that showed the Browns along with a headline mentioning something about a "split". I didn't have time to read the headline, but I did do some online sleuthing and found an article on Latin Post, a Web page that is new to me. Anyway, it talks about some of the original 3 wives giving leaving the marriage some serious consideration. Then, there is mention of Kody looking for a new, younger wife. I have no idea if that website is credible, but it was an interesting read.

DeleteI just read the "1st Page" of the Joker's "book." A few things are pretty clear: 1. No editor got near this Great American Novel. There are tons of style and grammatical errors. 2. There are plenty of stupid people on this earth. They range from those who can't wait to get their hands on the book and others who say it's very well written. Ha!

DeleteKody wasn't courting Robyn when they first started talking about the show with Principle Voices/Figure 8. Robyn heard about the show being in the works through the AUB grapevine and she wasted no time "visiting her cousin" in Lehi so she could meet and immediately court Kody. Kody realized it was a great idea and he was down with the new younger wife. Win-Win TLC just got a bonus with Kody courting the 4th wife and ran with it. $$$$
Robyn and Kody will control everything until the money's gone. After that they will most likely trick some younger women with wombs and jobs to support both of them together....unless one of them hits a jackpot they don't want share with the other.
If you think about it...That's kind of what Meri did with Kody. She was Kody's bud while Janelle popped out babies, worked and handed over the money. Christine popped out babies, collected the welfare and handed it over, and ALSO took care of the children. Meri had it good until Robyn came along. Ain't Polygamy grand?
I am beginning to wonder if this latest SW headlines might be ringing a little truth about the three wives leaving. More and more websites are covering the story. It seemed like the last two years, most of these stories have become true (divorce/catfish). Could there be some truth to this latest story? I didn't believe it at first, but now I am beginning to wonder. I personally think that the TLC money would not be a contributing factor for the wives to stay. TLC would keep on coming because that would be drama they would cash in on. (How sad!) I would watch a spinoff of one of the wives trying to make it in their own without Kody. That would be more fascinating that then the "keep sweet" fabrication they currently have.

There's no doubt that life with King Kody is not what they tried to make it appear in the beginning of the show, but the chances of anyone leaving are pretty slim, and if they do, the women will likely just end up in another polygamous mess.

DeleteAhh you mentioned My Five Wives. I have been marathoning it this last week. I know that overtime the cracks would have shown there and the same unhappiness would have become apparent in those wives but I just enjoy that show so much more. Yes there is awkward tension...and they just showed that awkwardness. Rhonda and her hypochondria. I wonder if being sick gets her a lot of attention and working in the medical field she just knows all the symptoms to think she has. Or Nonie who was concerned when she didn't get pregnant right away that she was broken..honey you had 5 kids.you sound so ungrateful. And her biggest joy seemed to be that the others would know they were having sex on their nights. and at least 3 of the wives are like our Robyn Brown and just drop tears constantly (and it feels like it is just for attention). I know over time I would have just felt as badly for them as I do for some of the Browns and dislike others..just like the Browns but for those 2 seasons I was engaged in the story line..

Also as an aside I feel pretty bad for the guy who made the creepy portrait of the alternate dimension Robyn wishes she lived in. Poor guy just doing the best he can with the creepy as can be subject matter he was given. Hope you are getting to make normal pictures now Mr. Artist.

It was a little sad, they seemed beggy about it. I watched the show back then...I was thoroughly turned off by the pillows made to "simulate" the husband for the wives night off...eww...just ewww

ReplyDeleteHello all. Just checking the news on the Brown Circus, I agree any whispers of any of them leaving is either publicity propaganda or laying the groundwork for next season. It could be that Christine's mother is the feature..lovingly helping her daughter see the black hole of polygamy and even dissing the King maybe. However, I'm so beyond jaded I believe nothing they say and nothing that TLC sets up as the dramatic hook line. They're all liars and would do anything to keep their employment.

I think it's a teaser leaked by the Browns to ensure viewers for their new season. Their original goal to decriminalize polygamy remains unfulfilled. Until their court case is settled, no one is leaving that compound. It's a business arrangement.

DeleteI don't trust the Browns or TLC. It's all about the $$$. My mind goes toward Janelle, Christine and Meri "pretending" to leave Kody for a spin-off show. The current viewers won't be happy with watching Coyotte Kody and square head Sobbin next season. So, a plan has been put in place for a show sure to attract the viewers. There is no way any of them can live the lifestyle TLC has provided on their own, so they'll do anything to keep the show and $$ coming in. I think they'll leave, but it'll only be "make believe." -just my opinion.

As others have stated, the Browns are washed up & are desperate for juicy story lines that keep the ratings up. If the Browns were really that special then they wouldn't have to stoop so low for story lines & ratings. They're no better than the hookers in Las Vegas pimping themselves out for the almighty $$.
DeleteThere are so many moving parts to this puzzle, at this point, I don't think it's feasible to predict what is really going on. I will say that I'm starting to strongly suspect that the whole Meri (Catfish), Galveston trip(Christine) and Adoption (Robyn) were a desperate ploy to keep the ship afloat, by the network. I think they threw in the Janelle/Meri make-up/break-up to try and cover all the bases. There's just too many unexplained, and unexplainable, scenarios going on to be real-life "reality tv".

These people will do anything to keep this train on track. I will not ever watch their show again, but I will read this blog. This blog is much more attractive.

Her father was one of the LeBaron brothers, I think (not sure from the review and haven't researched it yet). The reviewer gives the book an 'A'. This is one I haven't read yet, but am looking forward to...

DeleteJust reading the paper and I saw a short article stating that Jennifer LeBaron Davenport will be a guest speaker at a church in Denton, TX. She will share her story of growing up and escaping from a polygamist cult. The women's ministry E3 (Encourage, Enrich, Elevate) is the host. I would love to go and hear her speak. I wonder if there would be a question and answer segment. I would bring up the Browns and what her perception of them would be. I have read of her escape and how she wants to help other women. She comes from a powerful polygamous family. Should be a very interesting and compelling speech.

DeleteI don't want to be rude and I believe that all babies are wonderful and this has nothing to do with the new little baby. However, I am struck when looking at the picture of all of the "happy" wives gathered around the new chosen one, that none of the women have changed. Robyn, looks like a woman who just gave birth but she has never been as beautiful as she thinks that she is because she is not pretty inside. Meri still looks to be 6 shades too dark for her coloring, Janelle is still overweight, not a big deal but it is worth a remark because we have been on that "journey" with her for YEARS and Christine looks like her happy pills are kicking in just fine. I say all of that to make the point that this lifestyle doesn't make them better-- it doesn't change them at all. They are not on a journey of discovery and redemption. They are going nowhere. Not to school, to therapy, to retreats, to move on in life-- nothing. I can see now that all of this is a sham. Every last minute of this is fake. Who wants to bet that we will have the joy of watching the reenactment of this joyous birth? Will that be the central story line this next season? It is time for them to leave TLC and move on. For their own sakes. Can't they see that?

Also, I noticed on the TLC site with the pictures there were just as many pictures of Christine holding the baby as Robyn with the baby. I admire Christine's spunk in not going down without a fight. Her new tactic of pairing herself up with Robyn and Kody to get equal screen time (I'm thinking of the boat race episode) is a brave move to retain some of the attention!

DeleteDon't be sorry FA, just my opinion. When the parents put it out there in a magazine, or TLC puts many pictures of the baby with fawning descriptions, with the parents obvious approval for their daughter, they open the door for public opinions. It's not discrimination, its an opinion based on my observation of the pictures.
DeleteThat's true enough when it concerns adults Milo, however, what is on the internet lives forever and I think as responsible adults we need to try to protect children regardless of what their irresponsible parents do.

DeleteHow about we turn the topic to Meri's front tooth?!! Is anyone else thinking it looks like she had it fixed? It doesn't look like the dead discolored front tooth of years gone by. I am wondering if she fixed it in the course of her affair with batfish? If you are going to run off with a Keith Urban look-a-like, you would need front teeth that said "I am the girlfriend of an important man." Even if you didn't want to fix your front teeth for your reality show, you might spruce up for your new boyfriend!

DeleteI bet Robyn takes great glee in referring to the new one as baby sister thereby ousting Truely out of that title. As painful as it must be for Christine it will be healthier for Truely.I have watched her developmentally and had concerns. Chances are she may have been babied though ,so who knows if I am reading something wrong. Christine has always thrust her into the limelight. I do not think it is healthy.I will always see her in the hospital bed or sleeping in the shopping cart in the middle of the day being exploited for T.V. She really tugs at my heartstrings
ReplyDeleteAgree Non-sharer! That whole bit about forcing Truely to come out and face the cameras at the end of the tell-nothing was painful to watch. She clearly didn't want anything to do with it and forcing those kids to participate seemed so desperate and stage-momish to me.

DeleteAfter putting more thought into this name thing, I am going to reverse course! I am going with a Disney Princess name. Like Ariel or Jasmine (sorry to our blogger Jasmine above) After looking at Robyn's pinterest board, I am thinking she is more the Disney Princess type than following the other wives with place names. She currently has a Disney Princess daughter, Aurora, so why not one more?

DeleteI find the names people select interesting.I think the reason Elizabeth or Ellie was thrown around is because Robyn feels she has been elevated to royal status. I think she is looking for a name that has some class.She once wanted a princess to be swept off her feet as in Aurora.Another woman to live through her kids because she has no personal achievements.Unless you call sharing Kody a skill.I have a sisterinlaw who picked her daughter's name "Because it would sound nice someday when a man whispered her name".I can see picking a name if you like it . I can not see building a biography for a child around a name .Robyn likes to control things but she is modelling entitlement to her kids so good luck on her plans. I vote for Rebel or Waterloo Brown because I think some karma is coming for Robyn.At least I hope so.

Quite easy to imagine that next season's opener or episode 2 will include a few scenes, with filming taking place now, of all the Browns joining in the "Name the Baby" party.
It will be just another raucous, fun-filled Brown event.
*And of course........first thing for next season will be the birth footage.*

Delete@My 1 Wife; JYD is/was (not sure of their relationship status now!) Robyn's friend and staunchest social media supporter. JYD (Junk Yard Dog) spent considerable time bullying anyone making negative comments on social media about the Brown 's and she especially defended Robyn.
ReplyDeleteHer name is Kendra Pollard-Parra and she appeared on the Sister Wive's San Fran episode - the bonding trip for the wives. JYD had a cameo as the "friend" who arranged for the wives to visit clothing stores trying on potential dresses for the commitment ceremony. Who could forget the 1st shop Kendra led them to where all the clothes were too small for the other wives and only Robyn could parade around playing dress-up for the camera. JYD had some mysterious involvement in helping Robyn with my Sister Wives Closet; maybe in picking out the silly merchandise they added after the jewelry designed by Robyn didn't take off as expected. JYD has a history of tweeting at celebrities and insinuating herself when she can into the lives of the D-list. Many think JYD is her own unique breed of catfish!
Even though I'm a frequent reader of this blog I wasn't sure who JYD was either. Thank you for the explanation!

Oh, indeed they could.... since they already did with not only the adoption farce, but the McMansion BS went on for almost 2 and 1/2 seasons. And then there was the reoccurring rent-a uterus story and can't forget the seasons long Janelle dieting/ trainer/ diet blog installments. Also, add in the many seasons of the Junk Closet nonsense.
It looks more likely that once the Madonna's birthing of Arielle Mae is aired, the hook for this season will be dissension and OTT drama pointing to possible mutiny and desertion in the harem.
And then, at the 12th hour, the special team, aka the renown Plyg therapists, will be called on the field to save the day, and shore up the cuddle-sec and the TLC contracts.
No "Meri" as a middle name tribute then, despite the huge "sacrifice" Meri made by giving up her legal wife status for Robyn. (We won't mention the fact that maybe the "sacrifice" wasn't so great when there seemed to be greener grazing in view for Kody's Mare.)
