UPDATE Welcome to My Living Room: One Year Ago On September 9, 2013...

Yes, it was a year ago today when I started My Living Room. I want to take the time to thank everyone who enjoy the conversations to be found in here. It's a big world out there, and I'm simply happy that my living room has provided a niche for people to meet and discuss Sister Wives, Brady and Wives, The Dargers, Real Housewives - let's face it, just like any living room that has a bunch of people holding conversations with each other, almost any topic is worth at least a comment or two!

But it's all of you that make this fun...and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart!

I'm also very excited to announce that I have now expanded My Living Room to Facebook as a private group. Now, the Facebook group will not replace the content you find on my blog, but for your added fun, you will be able to post your own reviews, or interesting links (within reasonable guidelines of course) for other members to comment or respond directly to you in the comfort of my living room on Facebook!

I know a lot of you follow Facebook during the day, so you can check out the group to see if there are any new postings on my blog or hold conversations in real-time with other group members. And of course, whenever you need to take a mental break from working you can always mentally take five in either living rooms! I promise I won't tell your Boss!

Here is the link. You will need to join in order to participate, but don't worry. No one who isn't in the group will be able to see what you write.

UPDATE 2/20/15

Thank you for your interest but membership to My Living Room on Facebook is now by INVITATION ONLY until further notice.

Frequently Asked Questions

From time to time I see a lot of the same questions popping up in comments, so I think it's time for a Frequently Asked Questions Corner.

When did you leave SWB?
I published my last review on SWB September 6, 2013. That same day I resigned my duties as admin and removed myself from SWB.

Why did you leave SWB?
I left SWB because I was burned out on polygamy. Like I say in my blog summary, Polygamy is ugly if you look too close for too long.

I created My Living Room as a place to discuss reality shows - some of which star people who believe in plural marriage.

What happened to SWB?
I honestly do not know what happened to SWB after I left, or why SWB "went dark" last year. I will say that SWB was a tremendous amount of work to maintain and MS should be commended for her efforts. I have a feeling that MS and SWB will return someday.

Why have you started watermarking your screen caps?
The simple reason is my previous method for organizing screen caps simply became too unwieldy to maintain. With the current system I can see at a glance the episode the picture was from as well as the season. Unfortunately, that still leaves over 1000 screen caps that aren't organized from previous seasons.

Why didn't you publish my comment?
The objective of my living room is to promote discussion. If a comment is inflammatory, or too hurtful (especially towards a child) in words or tone I will not publish it. There's a fine line between snarkiness and cruelty. If I feel a comment crosses that line, I will exercise my editorial right not to publish. Also, I do NOT condone Slut Shaming, so please leave calling women whores or homebreakers outside of my living room.

Bottom line is, your comment should move the conversation forward, not distract and sidetrack the conversation.
