    1. Just watched the show. Now I know this is probably all scripted...but here goes...

Danielle made a promise to Mohamed she would not hide past due bills from him. Two weeks after they get married, the electricity is turned off.

Mohamed is obviously in over his head. Danielle will never change and will eventually smother him to death with her neediness!

    2. Did anyone notice the air conditioner wall unit was set on 64? No wonder she can't pay her electricity bill. I wonder if it is Mo or her that keeps the temp so low.

    3. I'm guessing it's Danielle. I lived with a heavy older (43-50?) woman briefly and she was often overwhelmingly hot. I had to carry a blanket around the house just to watch tv and eat.

    1. Well, at least it's not the Lehi PD this time! I've always wondered why they were driven out of Rocky Ridge as soon as they left the AUB, but as we've found out, wife #3 is the daughter of the current AUB leader. I still wonder after she came out that her father molested her if they will forced to move out. Time will tell I guess...

  3. Another blast from the past.........
Two wives, Rosemary and Paulie have "linch" to discuss their differences....ala Christine and Sobbin having lunch when they talked their trash.
Come on, TLC........no new ideas at all??

Working the Paul, the Plyg-hating son, angle again tonight !!

    2. Yes it was painful. Mostly because probably neither one of them wanted to play the lunch charade. But I guess when you sign on for the bucks, you have to follow the script as it is handed down.

  5. Something I don't quite get about "The Community". Paulie's daughter isn't engaging in polygamy and, I think, mentioned she wouldn't share her husband. It has been mentioned several times that unless people follow the faith (which includes polygamy), they can't live in "The Community". So how is Paulie's daughter (I can't remember her name) able to live there?

    1. I thought the daughter lived in a nearby town. The community is called Rocky Ridge and there are a couple of towns near it.

  6. Call me picky, cynical, too demanding for logic....whatever.......

But how is it that once again the cameras just happened to be in Paulie's bedroom when Brady complains of shortness of breath. Were they there already or where they called and all action had to wait for the camera crew?
And why was there also a camera crew in Rhonda's bedroom ready to film her getting out of bed?

More questionable is why didn't Paulie get one of her kids to go wake up Rhonda........
Or call any other wife to do it...instead of dragging *unable to breath* Brady down (up?) to Rhonda's house....with camera crew in tow, of course...if all this was a possible emergency?
Does a camera crew just hang out 24/7 in each Brady-wife's house and bedroom *just in case*?

Amazing how they had a camera crew ready to film Brady and Paulie going to the hospital from *inside* the truck?
And.....wonder of wonders....have a film crew in another car filming Paulie, driving...*from in front of her car*...!! Simply amazing how it was all caught on film from both angles.
What a stroke of cinematic good luck to be in the right place at the precise right time.!!

Yet....no hospital footage..no footage of Brady coming out of hospital ???
    Hmmm......!!!

    1. Were they there already or where they called and all action had to wait for the camera crew?

I think the film crew was already. Isn't there a film crew assigned to each wife?

Amazing how they had a camera crew ready to film Brady and Paulie going to the hospital from *inside* the truck?

Actually I think Paulie slowed down long enough for a camera man to jump into the truck as she sped off to the hospital. I thought it was one of the wives jumping in but it was a camera man.

Simply amazing how it was all caught on film from both angles.
That's why the production team gets paid the big bucks! ;-)

Yet....no hospital footage..no footage of Brady coming out of hospital
Isn't that the same thing that happened when Truely was admitted? I doubt an emergency room (or emergicenter) would allow filming on the premises.

    2. It would explain why the man wasn't lying down in the back seat if there was someone else in there. I found the medical assistant wife a little scatter brained. Particularly about health related incidents.

      Delete
    3. "I found the medical assistant wife a little scatter brained."

      Scatter brained is being kind.
If this was all real and she couldn't; even calculate his pulse, which *should have been possible* if she knew how. No wonder she was fine with quitting her job.

Instead of sending Paulie off to take him to the hospital, wouldn't you think a medical professional would have suggested calling 911 which would have gotten him help on the spot....and also guaranteed him immediate attention once he got the hospital?

      Delete
    4. "I think the film crew was already. Isn't there a film crew assigned to each wife?"

Maybe so, but wonder how does that work?
Do they just park themselves in the living rooms of each wife?
On sleeping bags? Or do they crash in their vans out in the parking area. Or maybe in Brady's "man cave" which is really a production crew quarters? Is there a catered food truck for them? Questions, questions !! LOL !!

If each wife does have a camera crew onsite, imagine the hell of that for the kids. Most kids, especially teen and pre-teens, would hate that. The only child who seems singled out, and seems to be enjoying the excessive attention and film time is Tailee.
(guess the apple didn't fall far from the Rhonda tree.)

    5. ...And Tailee is the one who is wants to name her little sister Satan. That was priceless! I feel bad for Paul..Nonie's oldest. He is very unhappy and I'm glad he doesn't pretend. He tells it like it is.

    6. Why were they all asleep or going to bed at like 7:00? It was full daylight, the sun was clearly not even setting.

Rhonda was doing that fast talking thing when she's acting. (She did the same thing during her adoption calls, which I thought were super fake.) Her acting "concerned" comes across as shrill. Paulie just had her hands over her mouth the whole time, again super fake. If this was real - wouldn't some kids run in there to see what was going on? Wouldn't Rhonda perhaps also take him to the hospital? Or at least help him to the car? And yes (as noted above) wouldn't they call 911? And Brady's pulse is so "out of control" that it is impossible to even measure it? What...??

Honestly, this whole thing was ridiculous. Like, "Breaking Amish" level ridiculous. I think they felt they needed some drama for their big season finale.

      Delete
    7. OK, so there's been some questions why Paulie didn't call 911 and why she drove Brady to the hospital.

I did some googling. From the Utah Dept of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services, if I am reading the chart correctly, Rocky Ridge UT has 911 response WITHOUT transport through Rocky Ridge EMS. I believe this means the EMTs will stabilize you but you have to provide your own transportation to an ER if it's required. It makes sense to me to drive the conscious sick person to medical help rather than waste time stabilizing him for his family to later transport him. Think Princess Diana where French EMTs routinely stabilize the patient before transport. Unfortunately in Princess Di's case if she had been transported immediately she might have survived her internal injuries.

Rocky Ridge is rural. I believe Brady usually mentions that fact whenever he talks about the "community". The town lies close to I-15 but really nothing is out there. Google map it to see what I mean.

      https://www.health.utah.gov/ems/providers/providerlist.php

Why were they all asleep or going to bed at like 7:00? It was full daylight, the sun was clearly not even setting.

Blame Daylight Savings. I remember visiting San Francisco one summer thinking it was 7:00 at night when it was actually after 10:00PM (it was close to summer solstice). I was shocked, but then I remembered living in California as a child and having it be pitch black outside at 5:00PM in the afternoon in the fall/winter time. Again, Blame Daylight Savings...

If each wife does have a camera crew onsite, imagine the hell of that for the kids. Most kids, especially teen and pre-teens, would hate that
Remember on Sister Wives when Gabe slammed his bedroom door shut when the cameraman pointed the camera at him? Gabe had been fighting (again) with older brother Garrison. Janelle went upstairs to see what the commotion was while Kody remained firmly seated in his easy chair not moving a single muscle to help her out. It was before they moved into the McMansions. So I'd have to say you're right, those kids probably hate the cameras as much as Gabe Brown did. I don't think they "live" with them, but the crews are most likely there for an extended period of time each film day.

guess the apple didn't fall far from the Rhonda tree
I thought Tailee was Nonie's daughter...

    10. What was filmed was the wives coming over to hear what happened the following day. Like they wouldn't be cell phoning each other. You got a 40 something year old man holding his heart and saying its racing and you don't give him an aspirin? And you are a medical person. Didn't she recently say nurse on the show too? I thought she was a medical assistant? If she a nurse she needs to not be home and could earn a fair wage. I'm not saying nurses are paid enough, but better than medical assistant.

Why does a 16 year old need to be excited about a sibling? He isn't having a baby. I also think the polygamy thing throws the kids off because of birth order. They are the oldest, but the very oldest. Or they aren't the oldest to the first wife. Like with the Browns Mariah being Meri's oldest puts her above Logan in a sense. So much of our personality is tied to birth order. These folks must be very confused. And Sol is a bit elevated since he is the first in this particular relationship. And then there are the baby of the family, like Truely. But she isn't THE baby. So she is treated like the baby by some but not all and not in all situations. It's tough enough to grow up. And they could lose a half or step sibling at any time. The odds of someone leaving are increased by each wife. Just think of the temp separation of janelle and the kids. Did aspen suddenly take the lead? How did she come back to being a middle kid?

      Delete
    11. The kids are treated worse than the wives. Their feelings are dismissed by their Father and their Mothers. Their resources are few and far between but they are supposed to pretend to be happy. Brady gets the most. The wives come next. The kids come last. I bet the wives get more for their anniversary than their respective kids collectively get for Christmas and birthdays. I wanted to reach through the TV and scream at Nonie. She won't give up until everyone is in agreement with her.

As for the early bedtimes. I think they are just boring people that all go to bed early. I guess it saves on the electricity.

I would like to see a Payer Mix for health insurance in that rural community. That poor hospital probably gets a lot of Self Pay patients.

You would think that, rural area or not, Rhonda the medical assistant, or any other of the wives would have heard/ known about that precautionary from the last ten or so years of it being widely reported.. They all do have TV's, laptops and cell phones.

  7. The appraisal doesn't make sense for so many reasons.

First, if the AUB owns the land, then Brady can't really sell anything. Also, since it would be a real estate contract, it would have to be in writing. I'm sure that the contract would have the terms of termination favorable to the AUB - or, it's a contract that states that Brady is a tenant. So, there wouldn't be any negotiation with the council.

The appraiser scenes were completely staged. Once again, we had to hear the ol' "Have you ever met a polygamist?" line, so we could hear how complicated it is. Also, they act like the 5 units are interdependent. I believe that they're more like individual attached homes. Maybe the ones with washer/dryers would be appraised slightly higher for the fixtures. Also, Brady wouldn't have spent the day with him and met with him afterwards to review the results. If so, the AUB should have their own appraiser, who would calculate an even lower result.

And for Brady the contractor to be 100% over in his own evaluation ($100/sq ft v. the appraised $50) may just hint at how successful that company is. I doubt they're winning many low-bid contracts. He assumed that his 15-year, non-upgraded units would be valued like new luxury construction.

    1. Exactly, Grifter Lives !!

You are so right...the AUB would definitely have had their own appraiser.
The whole thing was staged and scripted.

      Delete
    2. I have a feeling that the AUB did have their own appraiser (probably an AUB member) and offered $500K to get them out of Rocky Ridge. Remember how cheaply made the Kody Brown Lehi house was? The only "decent" unit was Meri's because she had new appliances. Poor Christine had the original 30 year old appliances. Same with Brady's houses. Those units have an unfinished look to them and they look like a cheap motel. The 1st season the units looked horrible, by the 2nd season TLC must have paid for landscaping and painting because the outside looked a lot better.

I have this feeling that when Brady was offered only $500k and the AUB wouldn't budge, he decided to play dirty pool (most likely coached by his dad). It had to be no secret about Rosemary's father (and his even more loathsome brother who was kicked out of the AUB for advocating incest with daughters to keep their bloodline pure) so I wouldn't be surprised if Brady created a blog then had Rosemary immediately publish her story to get back at "the community leaders" not wanting to pay through the nose for those houses.

      I think $500K was a generous offer.

      Delete
    3. CJ- Your insight is much better and deeper than mine, and I can buy into your theory. i want to reconcile the dollar figures that Brady's throwing around with their bankruptcy and that timeline. If that family owned nearly $1M in real estate, they didn't need to file for bankruptcy.

In his bankruptcy filing, he claimed $10,000 in real estate holdings. However, in September - which was probably right after this was filmed - his $318K debt was wiped clean. Maybe he did extort $500K (or less) from the AUB to go away. Of course, this could be just another boring and fabricated storyline or another staging as Brady the big, strong martyr and slick grifter.

      Delete
    4. If this will help you GL. The bankruptcy wasn't announced by the media until 2014 BUT I've read that it was actually filed almost a year earlier in 2013.

  10. Re Brady's panic attack.....and that bit in Paulie's bedroom with Brady saying he couldn't breathe was shown in the trailer way back before they began the season.
Obviously they saved it for the grand finale.

Since they were supposed to have no idea what was going on.......
Wouldn't calling 911 have been a better and sensible option !!!!???

Especially If you have an over-worked, over-stressed guy ....(a stressed out, over-worked guy who happens to be servicing one of 5 women each and every night, whether he feels like it or not)
He is having shortness of breath, slamming heartbeat and feeling "strange"......
And you make him walk down the steps to the wife with a BP cuff.... and then you stop driving him stat to the hospital long enough to let the film crew get in the car ?!
    Really??

IF this was even remotely a "real" scenario........
Maybe it is me (and that is entirely possible) , but even the camera crew, I would think under those circumstances, would have suggested calling 911. You would hope so if the wife or wives couldn't figure that out.
But then again, this IS reality TV....TLC style.

And now after 20 plus years and 24 1/2 kids,, the wives are *finally inspired* to ask their master *if* he has life insurance and *if* he has a will?
    After *Twenty Years*...!!!!
Such incredible... (as in *not* credible).... BS !!!

Believe it or not, we only got the service a couple of years ago and it's pretty much useless. Our emergency service is made up of volunteers, none of which have any life-saving skills & you may have to wait for an hour for the ambulance driver to get off their paying job before they respond to your call.I learned this the hard way.

    2. Okay, I get that. It *is* possible.
But why the trek down to waking up Rhonda (where a camera crew just happens to be there to film her getting out of bed) as Paulie frantically knocks on her door.
BTW, are all the wives's doors left unlocked through the night?

if it was real, if not getting her kids to rouse Rhonda to come up (what...steps away) or another wife to get her..then the camera crews surely have cell phone communication with each other.....and if they hanging out in each wife's house, then why not go get Rhonda?!

The whole thing just reeks of "contrived."
Or at the very least, involving very stupid people.

  11. I thought the whole thing was staged as well. I mean, call 911. No video of hospital. Only cameramen jumping in to truck? Also the vehicle in front videoing Paulie driving, and she had the overhead interior light on? Staged. I call it as I see it. I call staged. Also noticed no bracelet or hospital id. 13. I think they are probably far away from a hospital so taking him would be better than to wait for them and then to go.

They should take something from what they put into the properties. That is the problem with the compound trust control like groups. Build new and 15 years old with limited buyers are not going to be the same price. Why don't they have a lawyer? I can't believe those places are 10,000 square feet combined. With the kids getting older and already moving out they should all be looking for a similar townhome situation unlike the browns who went big.

  14. I just saw a teaser on TLC.com for a show that will debut on Jan. 11th.(?) It is called, "My Husband's Not Gay". It is filmed in Utah, and focuses on 4 couples. The husbands say they are attracted to their wives, but are also attracted to men. However, they "choose" not to act on that homosexual attraction. Well, I wondered what they would come up with after dumping Honey Boo Boo, and I guess it's about time for a homosexual or transexual theme. I'm definitely not homophobic, but this looks like it will be another highly scripted show, and not one that will put a positive spin on homosexuality.

This topic was a major story arc on HBOs Big Love. When Bill's daughter Sarah got pregnant, she considered placing her baby with an LDS family until she met them and found out the husband was "gay" but chose to get married to a woman and not act on his homosexual impulses. And of course, there was nutty but lovable Alby Grant and his tragic homosexual love affair with the attorney overseeing the Juniper Creek's UEB.

    2. I honestly can't believe that the Williams women didn't know about whether Brady had life insurance, wills, and all that other "end of life" paperwork. When I got married, having my husband get a life insurance policy and maintain it for as long as we married was a part of the pre-nuptial agreement (yes, we had one drawn up--one of us had far more assets than the other). To be married to someone and have children with him and not know how those kids would be cared for if something happened to their father is more than irresponsible--it's negligent. If Paulie, Robyn, Rosemary, Nonie, and Rhonda are really that naive, immature, and dependent, it's no wonder Brady is having stress attacks! These people deserve each other. I feel sorry for the children, who may suffer economically if something happens to one of their birth parents.

As for the house appraisal, $900K does seem high for the Williams homes, but then, so does $500K. If the property is indeed leasehold (meaning someone else owns the land), I doubt anyone other than another AUB family will be even remotely interested in purchasing it. I've driven through that part of the Continental US several times, and many of the homes have an "unfinished" look to them. Perhaps because property taxes are paid on the "finished square footage"; it's in the owner's best interest to keep the tax burden low by purposely not completely finishing the entire house. Just get it sound enough and weatherproof enough to provide shelter and don't worry about the house being "pretty". Yuck!

And on another note, CJ and Lourdes, thank you so much for setting up and maintaining this forum and the Facebook page. You've given so many of us with a common interest in diverse lifestyles a chance to come together, learn from one another, and share a few laughs at the expense of others (snark, snark). Maybe it's the cynic in my name but I remember how the Centennial Park group also made it a point to say their group was different from the FLDS. It seems to me truly the only difference is the FLDS has one man rule while the AUB and CP have a leadership council. Other than that, all the groups are a generation or less away from each other and basically follow the same teachings.

Who can forget Mike Cawley from CP (Polygamy USA) and his nightly sermon readings sounding more like Warren Jeffs than Warren Jeffs! And then when Mike, Rose Marie met with her Grandfather Claude (Mike's father and a member of the CP leadership "The Brethren" ) whose style wasn't as bad as Mike's but would make me want to think twice before allowing him to determine which man I would marry.

      Creepy...

    4. I'm going to assume most of the homes are 3 bed 2 bath on a slab. Maybe a bonus or 4th bedroom for some. And they are townhouses. No garage. I can see each being 100K. It may only apply to polygamists but because they are so fruitful there might be demand. I do think 15 years for having built the properties doesn't make sense. Was he married to them all that long yet? Maybe one structure is that old? Also they may have always kept the marriages to adult women and not minors with parental permission in the AUB? That would be a distinction from FLDS. They are unfinished on purpose for tax reasons.

Brady's father Rod's 3rd wife was only sixteen (and he was well over 40) when they got married. And don't forget Christine Brown even mentioned on the show that her own mother was married at 16. AUB maintains that girls only marry at 18. Well here are two cases where that didn't happen.

I can see each being 100K
I agree the Williams homesteads are worth maybe 100K each for a total $500K.

    7. I mean the current generation. In the 70's in many non pooygamist neighborhoods women were married at the end of high school which meant 17 for half the class. The declaration that they marry at 18 is not meant to go back three generations. The FLDS was seeking to relocate members to state with the lowest allowable ages for marriage with parental consent. In was in that mess the comment was made. Supposedly the FLDS now is saying they will not marry under 18 after the YFZ incident. The centennial park group is a newer offshoot.

    8. I don't think i realized Rod's 3rd wife was only 16 when they married. So Grandma Yoda was supposed to be okay with her 40-something year old husband sleeping with a 16 year old girl?? By the time Rod was in his 40s, he and Stella probably had children who were 16 (or older). So your husband comes home and tells you he's going to "marry" someone younger than some of your kids, and you're just supposed to go, "Sure, honey. Cool. It'll make me a better person to know my husband's bonking a minor. Go for it." Seriously????? It would be awful enough for your husband to start doing other women your own age...but a 16 year old? Yes these people are in a weird place...wanting to escape yet not wanting to....stuck in a strange relationship of five women and one man, wanting that to change, probably, but not wanting to separate the children from each other...each wanting Brady for themselves...no longer believing the religion that got them into this situation in the first place...insufficient funds...worrying about the realities of the future and what it means monetarily...it is a mess.

  19. I wonder if we will find out what Kody and Brady get for Christmas this year. One good thing about Brady and his crew - I can't see them getting him an assault rifle like Kody got a few years ago ... Yes, thanks,CJ and Lourdes - I mostly lurk but love this site!

  20. Regarding some of the scenes being staged... Tori Spelling explained in her last book, and Todd Hoffman from Gold Rush also said this in a recent interview I saw, that it's common in the reality tv world for scenes to be re-enacted, as it's not possible for cameras to be everywhere at every moment to catch everything. They've both said that in order for the story to make sense - to connect the dots between the things they do get on film - that they sometimes have to re-enact some of the in between scenes that they didn't get when they happened in real time. So, in that sense, those scenes are "staged," but are still based on "reality." Of course, having said that, I also firmly believe that some "reality" tv scenes are just plain made up/scripted...not based on "reality" at all. I think it's kind of fun trying to guess which scenes/story lines fall into which category, though, when you accept that it's NOT going to be 100% real, real-time "reality" tv. :-)

    1. You mean that True Tori scene of Dean crying hysterically during his marriage counseling session with Tori was RE-ENACTED?

No wonder Dean hasn't been able to get a fulltime acting gig!

I hope that gosh awful scene of Candy Spelling showing up at the birthday party with Tatum O'Neal in tow was scripted...that was too surreal to be true!
