SISTER WIVES Live Tweet Party Room for February and March

TLC

When the going gets tough....

Cynical Jinx goes on vacay!

Okay, so it is the middle of the season. But just like the Browns have shown us...When you gotta go, you gotta go!

So although I'll be taking a brief hiatus, I still want all of you to party hearty in My Living Room until I return! This posting will be Party Headquarters until I get back.

And don't worry. I will try to check in occasionally with a comment or two, if I'm not snowed in...  ;-)

So Get Ready!!!!

Gird up your loins, y'all!

Sister Wives is on the snark menu in
My Living Room Tonight!!!

So what if the Browns blocked you on Twitter!
Let's be the bigger person!
Watch the show and check out the Tweets!

And discuss Kody and his Kodypendents right here!

Remember, the Show needs us for Ratings!

(Sister Wives dropped  from #11 to #15 in ratings for the 2/17/19 show. Let's see just how low this show can go!)

LET THE SNARKING BEGIN!!!

But wait! Here are 2 gem video clip showing the Brown Krew at their best!

If you ever thought Jangle was the smart wife, you might change your mind after watching this clip! Run Gabriel! Run like the wind and don't look back!

Notice the look on Maddie's face as Mariah goes on and on about grad school in Chicago. And look who "calls in" their appearance. Can someone explain why those two seem attached at the hip? Nope, no playing favorites at all.

The couch interview is classic. Kody looking mad and Robyn looking disinterested.

  1. Posting early tonight to wish CJ a a much deserved time-out/vacay.
You have opened your Living Room so generously for many years, many seasons..AND left it open during off seasons..for all of us.
Many Thanks and sincere Wishes for whatever is in and is for your highest good !!

  2. Checked out the 2 video clips CJ included in her preview for tonight.

Janelle's son Gabriel could not have been more direct and heart-tugging as he explains what he will be giving up to move to AZ....wrestling, scholarships, girlfriend, friends etc. He respectively mocked his mother's sales pitch that in Flagstaff he can go outside more...!!!
How absurd to pull that one on a teenager.
My God, Janelle is just a vacuum/a wasteland of comprehension and credibility!!
And her line that she "wants the gift of raising her son"....just rings soooo flat. Really, Janelle?? Aren't you the one who said many times thru the years how much you liked not being home to raise your kids.
    Wow, phony as usual.
Last week's scenes showed Janelle claiming that "she would/could not do that to her children," especially to Gabriel for all the reasons he stated in tonight's epp. YET...as a career "follower" and an even more devoted Kody- sycophant, she capitulated. Too bad for Gabriel...

And the clip repeat from last week's bridal gown shopping as Sobbin clenches her lips and holds back the tears as she explains in the TH what it is like to see her little girl dressed as a bride.....pullezze !!
Sobbin...NOT your "little" girl now becoming a bride.
Bonus kid, okay....but not yours...just stop with the downcast eyes dramatics.

    1. Yes, yes, and yes! Amused you wrote everything I was thinking. Raising a child involves putting what's best for that child first. She's putting Kody's interests before anyone else's. She was using her son as an excuse because as usual she was nervous about something new, but now that she's getting more comfortable with it, she's totally putting aside all her son's concerns.

      Delete
    2. I feel they are putting Robchyn’s choices above everyone else. She is manipulating the whole drama.

  3. In that scene with Meri looking at her phone at Flagstaff....Kody, with that long, straggling, balding mess...he looks like a body with a big egg for a head with beady eyes and a wig.

  4. So now Kody says if they go to Flagstaff, which we know they have, he won’t be saving any money. That was his original reason for leaving. He needed the money for his older years. So then why make those kids leave their lives? Why make Janelle be away from Axl?

    1. My guess is that the show was bombing in Vegas. The ratings were dropping last season and the handwriting was becoming evident.
Kody needs the TLC $$$$ for *everything*.....
      All about Kody.....always.

    2. Thumbs up Amused, Robchyn won’t let him have a new wife so an exodus was the next best drama they could come up with...will these people ever have an original thought?

  5. Guess they moved to Flagstaff in time for the 3 foot snowstorm from a few days' ago. And why, Kody, if you are so concerned about money for the future, are you knowingly moving to a place that is more expensive than Las Vegas? Makes no sense.

    1. MrSpock sees that shemeantwell is thinking along the same lines as MrSpock---great minds. :-)

    2. Now Brianna says the realtor said each house would be on 2 acres. Like that’s necessary. They could downsize, normal people would look at property that has smaller houses and not much property if we truly were going to move to make money for the future.

      Delete
  6. Gotta feel for Gabriel. He makes a good case for staying with Maddie in Vegas but both Janelle and Maddie said "no." MrSpock knows this all happened quite awhile ago---so does anyone know if Gabriel did go to Flagstaff?

    ReplyDelete

    1. MrSpock,
I think he did go since Maddie has moved to NC.

And yes, really hard to feign interest in any of this since all we are seeing happened a year ago.

    2. I had kept fast forwarding through the boring parts and somehow missed Mariah's announcement so well as the trip with Robchyn. I don't even feel like going back to find what I missed. Who knows what else ai missed but was so boring that you guys aren't talking about.

    3. Here are the ratings... 1.263 M viewers and a .30 rating. It was the 12th cable show of the day. Good gravy, when will they put it out of its misery? I don't know how people sit through 2 hours of this drivel live. I wait till it's on demand and fast forward through most of it.

  9. Did Kody shave the sides of his head? That's what it looks like in those windy scenes. Like He shaved the sides and let the top grow really long to cover it up. :oP

    1. I saw the same thing! He intentionally styles his hair and wants it that way. That's worse than merely holding on to his scraggily mane of glory. Also, with the strong wind in several scenes, you could see how his hair plugs didn't move.

  10. This land they are considering---how far from town, shopping, schools...it seems to be out and away from everything. And, MrSpock agrees with Kody----small kids + pond = possible problems.

  11. So Kody couldn’t even be bothered to pull over for Mariah’s big announcement?

    1. Since it didn't directly involve him, he doesn't really care.

  12. Clearly Robchyn makes all the decisions... the one who wanted to move and had already talked to Kody about plan. First one to Fagstaff to pick out the property. First on to decide about the property and now rolling it out with Meri. All Mrs. Brown’s ideas...so magnanimous of her to let the old brood mare’s come along.

  13. I think that the houses in Vegas must have had balloon payments due, or they had taken equity out of their homes and were going to be upside down in the mortgages. Kody is 100% about himself and Robyn Ben g happy but he knows that Christine will be his biggest cheerleader because she just wants his attention. This move makes no sense... first he wants to run for office in Utah , than it was to save money.. and now they’re spending more money!

  14. This is the first time I’ve heard Kody encouraging his daughters to play the field. He thought Mariah shouldn’t marry the first “person” she dated. I think that’s his way of saying she should try and date a guy to see if she’s really gay. Not buying that this family is OK with homosexuality.

    ReplyDelete

    1. ...and the one who did date another guy on camera (Mykelti) ended up with the worst guy of them all! How's that for irony.

    3. Anon 10:58 - I don’t think the Browns shy away from being hypocritical. I think TLC has probably forbidden Kody from appearing homophobic.

  15. Why are they so against living together in one house?? It's not like they'd be sharing a room. The moms with little kids would get more help. The moms without little kids get to act like bonus moms. They would get more natural, casual interactions with each other. They would be more than 4 neighbors who are sleeping with the same man. They would be actual sister wives. Isn't that why they claim they are in this lifestyle?? Isn't sharing a husband somehow supposed to make each of them better?? Well they aren't really sharing him... they are just each settling for a part-time husband.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Yes! That is exactly what I was thinking! Imagine a really big house, like 8,000 square feet on some land. Each corner of the house could have basically an independent home for each wife with a "common area" in the middle of all the units for eating, entertainment, and hanging out. As a matter of fact, all of their individual kitchens could center around this common area, giving each wife her OWN kitchen. It would be the best of both worlds. As it stands they really ARE just 4 neighbors! This move makes no sense financially or for the kids.....it has to be about the balloon payments or something like that coming due!

    2. They started this show to teach us about polygamy and how it "makes each of them better," and "they want the family not just the man." But I don't see any one of their households different from a situation where one man has a wife, Christine, a level headed friend, Janelle, a sneaky mistress trying to work behind the scenes to get her way, Robyn, and a bitter ex-wife, Meri. All I've learned about polygamy is that what they claim their values to be is very different from how they actually live. I've learned that I would never want to live that lifestyle because I am honest enough to say that I don't want to share a life with a man who puts his needs first then tries (horribly) to balance the needs of all his wives.

      Delete
    3. phsunny, that house you are describing sounds amazing. They should hire your design services!! I can see myself sharing a space like that with a couple of good friends and their families. I wouldn't share my husband, just the house. But I guess that goes to show you, that they aren't even friends, and that sharing your husband makes you so much more territorial and greedy to balance out the resentment you must feel.

      Delete
    4. I agree. Right now they are 4 separate families. It’s no different than a father with 3 ex wives who has some ‘benefits” with a couple of them, though I’m willing to bet that he’s only sleeping with Christine and Robyn.

      Delete
    5. "Why are they so against living together in one house??"

Well, maybe because they have already done that dance with each other.
Back in Lehi, Utah....and before Sobbin the Stealth, joined the harem, Meri, Janelle and Christine DID live in one dwelling.
It was a bi-level type house. Each one had their own apartment w/kitchens. Two wives were on either side on the the upper level and one was on the lower level.
It was after Sobbin became #4 that brought all the angst that there was no room for her and her three kids in the existing human habatrail house and she was having to live somewhere else...I believe that was the *real* genesis of Kody declaring "we have to move to Vegas and we have to do it now."
Looking back to that time 9 years ago and now seeing that she certainly was all up in last year's Kody-manic decision to leave Vegas for Flagstaff, it wouldn't surprise me if Sobbin was in on that Exodus from Lehi decision too.

    1. Is she??? Both her and Robchyn are in million dollar rentals?? Lol!!! This failure to come together as ONE family makes for great TV / gossip.

    2. Robyn is in the million dollar rental and Kody and Christine bought a $599,000 home with a hot tub. Robyn's rental is where the family gathers during holidays and it is huge.

    3. So where is Meri? Living at her B&B? Working on her spinoff? Auditioning for the bachelorette?

Where is Janell? Did she stay in Vegas because she decided to put her son's best interest first?

So Kody and Christine bought a house together? While Robchyn is renting an extravagant house that they use for get togethers... so when the time comes for her to buy she going to say- it's been so nice being able to have everyone over, I think I'll buy a million dollar house with the family money since everyone will be using it.

I wonder if they'll show this process on next season's show. I am curious to see how they justify Robyn getting that rental.

    2. Milo - I’ve never owned a home. (And I don’t live in the states) could you please explain the financing on the Vegas homes? I am under the impression they have only paid interest on the mortgages ? And now the mortgages are up for renewal and they can not secure them again ergo they are hoping to sell the houses at a profit. Is that correct? Also, has the Vegas market appreciates enough so they can make a profit? Also have any of the homes sold? Many thanks!!!!

    3. Milo that's interesting. Thank you for the update. I couldn't find anything on where Meri was staying. How was this move initially about saving money but they're renting not one but two million dollar homes? And that's after the money they spent on Christine's 599,000 home and the purchase of the land. What am I doing wrong in life?

    4. When Meri finally moved, she posted a photo of her kitchen. It did not look like the kitchen in a 900,000 dollar house. Robyn's kitchen looks like it belongs. Meri's looked like it belonged in a studio apartment. Is this because Flagstaff is so expensive?

  18. Is Kody that stupid to think he can snowball us about his kids not living with their girl/boyfriends, Meri gave it away and so did her daughter ~ Mariah when she said she was looking for a one room apartment, duh...…… We all know Logan is living with his girlfriend and Maddie well she lived with her husband before they were marriage.

    1. You're so right. I know I was rolling my eyes at that speech but I was thinking about him being "married" to 4 women or courting girlfriends while he has tiny little babies at home he could be spending time with. There are so many reasons his little speech was BS. His other children living with their boy/girlfriends really just undoubtedly solidifies that they say one thing but practice another, and just hope that people don't notice.

    2. No I can’t help Mariah move, I’m compelled to move and get these places sold and I have so much on my plate - what a great dad and hubby you are Kody
    3. I didn’t know the first dance was a thing until our kids started getting married...2 seconds later cue Meri and Kody at thier wedding dancing ?! Wtf?
    4. I was too overwhelmed with life, I’m still struggling with that. I don’t talk to Robyn and Jemelle all the time, I’m not close to them. My relationship with Kody became hard then too. - Christine! What’s the point of this family if you don’t trust and have relationships with the other people in the family. But then you say things got better when you started talking to Robyn things got better?
    5. It’s hard to have a sister wife relationship when I don’t have a husband wife relationship.
    6. If they have been able to launch the older kids with little to no debt, why is there concern for the money for the younger kids ? (Bonus scene)
    7. Gross they have dirty shoes on christines bed. So disgusting.
    8. They want a conservative state but a liberal town? Hello? If you want acceptance for your chosen lifestyle how can you be conservative. Mind explodes.
    9. Best birthday ever? That’s a lot of pressure on me, when I’m doing this trip as an ulterior motive?
    10. I can’t provide safety in Vegas after the shooting!!! (But I have a gun safe the size of two plus size sisterwives in my bedroom). Wow. Either pro gun or against. No in between.
    11. We need to go consequences be damned, but I know there is some scary consequences I don’t want to talk about it - how all loving, supportive parents should sound.
    12. I can not believe they think these are good looking homes...they are so basic
    13. Robyn beaming about moving. Beaming bc the land was special and she got an elated feeling
    14. We got some good stuff going here, what stuff are you talking about merri ?
    15. Why is Flaggstaff so expensive ?

  20. Poor, poor Gabriel, Day'Un was the only one that mattered, hun. Your dreams and goals were sacrificed for one kid, just exactly what Christine said she didn't want to happen with her wanting to stay behind because her kid was voted class historian. They're moving due to the jumbo, mortgage payments coming due soon, but they had to move to Flagstaff for Day'Un. I don't blame him, though. I blame his manipulative, cunning, thoughtless mother, Robyn, whom I find despicable. I wish Kootie would marry wife number 5, just for payback of all of the irreparable harm she has caused this family. Can't stand her.

That being said Aspyn and Gabriel are my favorite Brown kids. They both seem to have a good head on their shoulders. Say what you will about Christine, she was a good mom to all of those kids.

    1. I missed what Day-un has to do with moving to flagstaff, did he want to go to college near there and mommy didn’t want him to be without her?

  21. I also truly believe that Christine wasn't talking about HER own kid when she said that. That comment was a sneaky undercut at Robyn for forcing everyone else to sacrifice their own kids' lives for just one of hers. Christine knows who calls the shots, and it ain't Codpiece. Gabriel had every right to be angry.

    1. What comment did Christine say? I missed that. Then again the show was a snooze fest and it was hard to keep listening.

    2. I believe it was in the episode before this week's when Christine discussed wanting to stay back in LV due in part to one of her girls being in the running for class historian or class treasurer? She mentioned both titles in the show. Anyway, Christine ostensibly was upset about her daughter working so hard to win the position only to have to give it up due to the move. Then Christine said she changed her POV due to that it wouldn't be fair to hold back her family moving due to just her daughter's personal needs. I'm paraphrasing here, but that's the gist I got from it.

Day'Un has replaced Mariah as the prince of the realm, and not even Sol has as much gravitational pull on the rest of the Brown planet as he. At least not yet. Again, I don't BLAME Dayton, but if I were a Brown kid from Christine or Janelle I would be as ticked off as heck.

  22. I fell asleep during this episode, so I appreciate everyone else's fortitude and comments. I'm going to apologize for being inarticulate below:

Mitch told the dance instructor that he had taken lessons before (and Aspyn pretended to be surprised), because a girl from their church was teaching them - he may even have said that she taught them to the church community.

The sister wives then talk about how first dances are a new to them, although the sister wives themselvers were groundbreaking (Meri) or inclusive (Robyn) by having a first dance at their own receptions and knew about them from Maddie's and Mykeltie's wedding (with montage of their grooms throwing them around on the dance floor).

Why wouldn't Mitch and Aspyn have an AUB church wedding like the ones that the sister wives refuse to discuss - without a first dance, a walk down the aisle, sleeveless gown, etc.? Did the AUB excommunicate the Browns? Are they not mentioning a religious ceremony in their wedding planning scenes? I know that the Browns have said that they're independent Mormons a few seasons into their show.

Also, Mitch is a few years older than Aspyn. Is he considered late to marry for the 1st time in their church? A generation early, Kody had three wives and 100 kids around Mitch's age.

I totally believe that Aspyn will reclaim Christine's plyg royalty status.

    1. Good question about whether Aspyn and Mitch having an AUB wedding. Don’t they have to be sealed? I wonder if there was another secret ceremony that wasn’t shared with the public.

  24. Meri does not look healthy or okay. It is rather sad when I think of how pretty she was at the start of the series. Cody’s hair in the first scene with Meri was dry in some places, greasy in other places, messy, covered in split ends, gray in some areas, dyed blonde in other areas and odd looking. He looked like an old and sick man trying to be a young surfer or something. He sat across from Meri with enough distance between the two of them they looked more like foes than husband wife. He was too busy to help his daughter move and clearly had no interest in being around Meri who desperately tried to assure him of his welcome. Overall it was very sad. Meri in interviews talked slow, sounded drugged and/or really depressed. Screen time that involved Meri seemed to dominate the show, which is a bit odd considering there is a lot of people in that family more interesting and camera ready than her. I felt bad for the kids being moved. I do think the move is to avoid high payments and benefit for Robyn. I felt bad for Meri which is impressive, considering how unlikable she is. I worried that the sale of her home will be used to help support Robyn.

  25. Just amazing and head-scratching this season as the wives freely speak of how miserable they all are..*and were*...all along.
With each other....and with Kody !!

So far this season we know that....
Meri and Kody haven't been "lovers" for several, maybe even more than several years. And apparently that even predates Meri's catfish crush.
Yet we would see the cutesy little "hi, lover" bits on twitter to each other. All phony, all "acting" BS for the camera.

Christine more than insinuates that Kody indifferently froze her out after Truely's birth in favor of Sobbin. And consequently she withdrew into a dark and lonely emotional space. However, that WAS evident to the viewers.
It really was sad and hard to watch.

And now Janelle lets loose with "don't expect the first 5 or 10 or maybe even 20 years to be easy or good." If it wasn't so refreshing to actually hear truth for once about their misery and depression....that would almost be absurdly funny. 5 or 10 or 20 years !!! WTH !! That is insane !
But this does explain Janelle's bizarre, dark and un-motherly speech to Maddie at her wedding reception about the down side of marriage.

It all surely belies the crap they began with and continued to sell about the joys of Plyg Life. Now they all are admitting it and don't seem to realize that they have pulled the curtain back on the show's core BS.

And still TLC runs that ridiculous opening montage of how it is all rainbows and "being made better." Go figure....

    1. Meri’s advice to Christine when she was at her darkest point was that she needed to change herself and when Christine asked why Kody didn’t have to change, it was basically stated that he just didn’t. These marriages are just Kody doing and getting whatever he wants and the wives having to go along with it or be ignored and cast aside.

Last week, Christine came out and said she didn’t want to challenge Kody’s plans to move because she feared he would be mad at her. She even tried to use the “I prayed and fasted” excuse for needing to stay, but apparently Kody’s will is more important than God’s will to Christine.

  26. Seeking Sister Wives

    The Mcgees

Bernie is clearly a sleezeball looking for sex. Sexting with women is really not okay for a married man to be doing. I noticed they had a bible nearby while talking about his cheating, sort of ironic and seemingly put there for the cameras. He is rather old to be thinking about having babies. There is something off putting and odd about him. I don’t like how he frequently talks about his wife being jealous and makes it sound like it is her problem. And I don’t like his excuses for sexting, being that it is common now and he needs to court women somehow. His innocent, blinkblink, I didn’t even know how to respond or understand what is going on is also very lame. He clearly knew exactly what was going on.

    Windens

Sophie is way more into the idea of another wife than Tammi is. Sophie seems almost excited about it. Tammi speaks of still adjusting to Sophie being there and I really wonder if she wanted this all to begin with.

    Snowdens

Vanessa is beautiful and seems very sweet and says all the right things. Still she met them on social media and reached out to them after the show was already on the air. That seems suspicious to me. I noticed her saying “I used to like food, I don’t now” in regards to her diet change. That is just sad and she should eat what she wants. I also noticed Dimitri saying he didn’t want her to work. I noticed a lot more sexual chemistry and attraction between Vanessa and Dmitri than between him and Ashley. Ashley thinks she is getting a sister, but she is really getting replaced. Also if one watches Ashely’s face closely, she furrows her brow and looks upset about the situation frequently. She even pulls away from Dmitri. Dmitri sits a lot more closely to Vanessa and one couch scene Vanessa and Dmitri are close together and Ashely is about a foot or two away from them both. Ashely will furrrow her brow and look very angry for just like a moment, you can really see it if you pause at the right time. It happens several times. Then she will smile and say something nice about it all. When she speaks of living together revealing true colors and lifts her voice oddly, well it sounded to me like she expects and hopes it will not work out.

    1. Anon thank you for touching on seeking sister wife!!! I like that show more than sister wives, because they haven't figured out how to be fake for the cameras. I love that you know their names. I refer to them as the trashy family, the black family, and the weird family, lol. The Mcgees are disgusting. They look like their parents might be cousins. That man is sleazy. He just wants to cheat. The wife is hoping that another wife will keep him honest but I can guarantee that man will get bored of his 2nd wife fairly quickly and will move on to trying to find a third and maybe even cheating very soon.

The Windens are so hard to figure out. Both of the women seem way too good for him. He's awkward. The 1st wife is obviously not ready to add a third but the guy and wife number 2 are pretending to be oblivious to her concerns. The second wife seems to be trying to establish dominance. Where does TLC find these people?? Or do they find TLC??

THE Snowdens are the closest thing to normal TLC has on the air. But they aren't normal. This idea that that they can control what an adult family member eats is so indicative of what they think a sister wife is. They think that he's the king and Ashley it's the queen, and anyone else they bring into the mix is there to serve a purpose for them and should be ready to live by their rules. Anon, you hit the nail on the head with your suspicions! I think the same thing. Vanessa is gorgeous and very likeable. She is so eager to please. She always says the right thing, yet she seems to keep the viewers on mind (like when she ordered the steak). She's doing this for her 15 minutes. I'll admit that I'd watch a show centered around her, so I wouldn't be surprised if she gets a spinoff when things end up going south in that family.

    2. This is Anon from above again. I like this show better than Sister Wives as well. More characters and more interesting situations. It is also much newer to us. The only thing that could make Sister Wives as interesting would be if Kody got a fifth wife and we all got to watch Robyn flip out.

I agree that both of the girls in the Windens are too good for awkward Colton. It is like he has two wives out of his league and it is a bit odd. Sophie does seem to be trying to set up herself up as wife number one, but I didn't realize that until you mentioned it. Tami is much quieter and much less onboard with this all.

I also always try to remember these people choose to be on TV and generally in every family there is least one person who wants the spotlight on them. In the McGees it is Bernie. In the Snowdens, I think it is both Vanessa and Ashley. The are going to have some epic fights later on possibly! Two alpha woman liking the spotlight in one family. In the Windens I actually think it is Sophie who likes the limelight and brought them to TV, Colton looks happy to come along and Tammi much less so.

    3. Hey Anon, it's the other anon, I'll be anon2. I keep wanting to reply as something different but then it takes me to some prompts and I just say forget it. Lol.
You're right about sister wives becoming more interesting if they brought on a 5th wife so we can see how Robyn deals with that situation. I haven't really watched a full episode this season, I'll record fast forward through a lot just so I can read this blog and have an idea of what is going on.
I totally agree that Bernie is the looking for the limelight. I think his wife got on board because she thought he'd have to "behave" through the courting process if it was going to be on television. Sadly, I think he is on his best behavior.

I bet that Tami had the same concerns about being on television that she has about courting a third wife, but I bet that those concerns were ignored then too.

You are absolutely right, Vanessa and Ashley will clash, that arrangement will not work out. But I can guarantee that Vanessa will come out of that looking innocent.

I love that I found a fellow fan!

    4. This is anon again! I do love this show. It is way more interesting than Sister Wives to me.

I was wondering about Bernie after what you said above and I remembered in the first episode he says in this very excited sort of voice, that his wife was the one who said they should have a second wife and that he was shocked at first and was like /Are you serious, you want me to have a second wife/ It sounded very fake at the time and reminds me of Kody saying he got second wives because Meri was urging for that. It seems to be a common excuse of my first wife told me to. Given his lifted tone of voice and fake expression of over-done shock, I find it very hard to believe. Like you said they don't how to fake it for the cameras yet and he very much looked dishonest.

I do really like Bernie's 14 year old son. He is my favorite character of the whole show. He stands up to his dad and he says right on camera, she won't be a second mom to me. He even rolled his eyes while they were looking at profiles. He clearly knows this is not good for his mom and is defending her the best he can as a 14 year old boy. He is smart and loyal to his mother and wise beyond his years.

    5. Anon again!

The other thing I thought about while pondering what you said about Sophie and Tami is that Sophie was raised in a plural family. Colton has plural marriage in his family's distance past and Tami appears to be new to such.

They say on sister wives that plural marriage makes them all better, but I see it making them all worse. Sophie speaks of seeking out a plural family online and running into Colton. In her I see a woman who grew up with it and wanted to find a family where she could dominate. Tami who is quieter and likely married Colton with no idea this would be coming. Sophie was likely drawn to them because Tami is someone she could control and with Colton she can take the credit for helping to bring him in his lifetyle and helping him get other wives who she probably will try to control as they come into the family.

It makes them all better, but....

But I see it turning Tami from a sweet mothering woman to a doormat
Sophie from a fighter who defends herself to a user who preys on others.
Colton from devoted father and husband - to one trolling the internet for new girls.

Ashley from a fierce Mama alpha Bear to subtly angry woman judging women trying to sleep with her husband.
Vanessa from a beautiful strong woman to someone who /doesn't enjoy food any more/ and isn't going work because Dmtri says so.
Dmitr to a amused rogue, getting it all and laying back and smiling impishly.

Bernie from a creeper who is disrespected by society to a realty tv star using his fame to try and pick up woman out of league.
His wife from a quiet long-suffering wife to someone helping her husband treat her bad and taking the blame for /bringing them into lifestyle/ or /being too jealous/

It turned Robin from slightly jealous and controlling woman to a very very jealous and controlling woman.
It turned Christine from nuturing mother to to someone who won't get her daughter surgery and is constantly passive agreesive to get her husband's attention.
It turned Meri from lovely and confident woman into insecure woman on the internet who is easily preyed on and talks in a depressed halting sad tone.
It turned Jaenell from a hard worker to oddly shut off lay about eating until she feels numb.
It turned Kody into a minor tool to an epic tool.

I don't see how it made them all better.

      Delete
  27. Also I forgot to mention this about the Sister Wives. Christine is seeming more and more manpulative to me and even more and more clever. I wish she would put some of that energy to getting her daughter surgery and taking care of her kids, instead into pleasing Kody though.

I found it extremely offensive the way she spoke of the shooting, saying she didn't know if her kids where there or not because they mentioned going to the concert. I don't believe she thought her kid might be there as it was never mentioned before now and it seemed she was using this event to further Kody's argument for going to Flagstaff and to manipulate the feelings of the viewers. I found that to be in very poor taste and extremely disrespectful to those who lost loved ones or who were injured in the shooting. They managed to make a national tragedy all about them and their move to the Flagstaff.

    1. That's what they do best....make it all about them!

    2. Agreed. Christine is quite clever and passive-aggressive herself. She could easily match Robyn stroke-for-stroke when it comes to familial machinations and manipulations, except for a few huge differences between them; 1) Christine has a conscious, 2) Robyn is the anti-Christ, and 3) Cody is in love with Robyn and not in love with Christine. Game, set, match for Robyn.

      Delete
    3. "and it seemed she was using this event to further Kody's argument for going to Flagstaff...."

No doubt this is exactly what Christine was expected (told) to say.
Nothing appears to be un-scripted for the cameras when it comes to making sense out of obvious non-sense. Once again, a rash "have to move" decision has to justified with fake dialogue.
It is all following the same script tweaking that was used and aired in the Lehi move, and in the divorce/Sobbin legal wife and now the "have to leave Vegas for AZ" move.

The only thing amusing this season (which is really last year's news) is what TLC is choosing to include, rather than cut, when the wives are deliberately being prodded by the producers to be candid about their past and present inner feelings. I would think that in past years, any candid footage about their "fillings" were left on the editing floor. So why this seasonn??
Why poke the PR bear with the viewers?

      Could it be to...
Make the Kody babes more relevant as adult women?
Keep the blog chatter about them all going for ratings?
Or by showing their ongoing duplicity is TLC getting their shark jump ready in order to push other newer shows?

      Delete
    4. I found them using the shooting in Vegas as a reason to move offensive as well. My son who is a police officer for the Salt River Police his prtners wife was gravely injured in that mass shooting. She is still recovering and will never be the same .

      Delete
    5. I am so sorry about your son's experience and what his partner is going through. This is anon again from above.

It is one thing to pray on people's feelings with cheap tricks and it is another thing to use a national tragedy to their advantage. It reminds me of when people used the events of 911 to personal advantage, running scams and the like.

Also to show pictures of the shooting and then pictures to her kids and then emotionally speak about thinking her kids were there, it was such a cheap and disrespectful play on emotions.

I also find it really hard to believe she thought her kids might be there Wouldn't she have heard if they were going to such a concert or not, instead of hearing a /maybe/ and not knowing further. While possible, it seems unlikely.

But even more with the way that family hams it up for attention, it seems really unlikely that Christine would have though her kids were there (even grown or bonus kids) and been quiet about it up until this moment. I think if that was true it would have been on on social media a long time ago. And to say /They mentioned might go/ is so a weak after the fact link to the event.

If that family really wanted to bring attention to the shooting in a positive, helpful and respectful way, instead of talking about being a victim of the shooting, they would hold a fund raisers to help the actual victims of the shooting.

As someone who was present at 911, I find myself disliking the Browns more than I ever have before. In my opinion they went way beyond cheap tricks and bankruptcy scams and the like and went to the level of behaving in a truly evil and unethical way of which there is 0 excuse for.

    6. Same Anon as above - I clearly have very strong feeling about this.

However, I have been watching Sister Wives since it first aired. Christine for a long time was my favorite wife.

I can now say that she is my least favorite wife and least favorite person on TLC period. I don't care if TLC or others in the family put her up to this. There is once again 0 excuse for her to pretend be a victim of such a tragedy. She could have said no, that is crossing the line, I won't do that and she did not.

      Delete
    7. Christine initially was likable because we saw her teaching and caring for all the kids and treating them as her own -- we saw her hit a deep depression when her husband courted another woman while she was pregnant. When we all first started watching the show and trying to wrap our minds around the concept of polygamy, Christine exhibited traits we could relate to and she became a wife we could root for.
However, we can't forgot it was Christine's need for attention that brought the Brown's this TLC show. It was Christine's brainchild to pursue this television show (we can't even pin this one on Kody!!) Christine loves attention and drama. I never bought for one minute they were doing this to "show a different side of polygamy." Well, maybe that is what Christine and Kody said to convince Janelle and Meri! Of course when Robyn found out about the show, she was on board to be wife #4. The show worked out great for Kody....not so much for Christine!
Back to attention seeking Christine...this is mother who sang horribly at Mykelti's wedding, but wanted to be the center of attention (aka camera time/storyline). Remember also the Christine who walked off the set during a talking head (however warranted!) and held the filming and production hostage for several days. And.. how about the Christine who locked herself in the bathroom on camera to avoid seeing her "unsafe" aunt. Then there is the Christine who started bawling and sobbing and was incoherent in her speech when they talked about going to a rally in Utah. Christine squeals, claps and does everything she can to be noticed on camera. It is no surprise to me she would take dramatic license with the tragedy in Las Vegas for her own selfish need to talk on camera.

      Delete
    8. Anon again.

You make a good point. The hiding form her aunt was pretty epic self-centered victim drama. I just didn't care as much because it her aunt and not a mass shooting. But now that you detail it out, she always had this in her.

Also the not getting her daughter surgery is pretty epic bad too.

    9. This show was Christine's idea??!!! That definitely changes my perspective on things. And you're right about Robchyn probably only agreeing to join the family one she realized there was a TV show in the works.

How did we find out this show was Christine's idea? I do not remember that.

    10. Christine was a very active member of a polygamy advocacy group called "Principle Voices." She did outreach on behalf of the group and she appeared with Kody on film talking about the benefits of polygamy---it was brought to the attention of TLC producers. Principle Voices thought the Brown family would be good representatives of "living the principle" and Christine sold it to the family (with help from Kody). They mention it in their book "Becoming Sister Wives."

  30. What I want to know - what are they not telling us about Mitch's dad? Lot of talk about his mom, Hannah Who Makes Hats. The narrative so far; Hannah left the dad 20 years ago and raised her kids in Seattle. So that makes Mitch around 6 when she left. But then all the talk about Mitch being raised in the AUB church with Aspyn...Kody saying Mitch didn't even notice Aspyn because he was in high school when Aspyn was in junior high...So, did the dad stay in the AUB and marry possibly one or more wives because Hannah didn't want a sister wife?? Where was Mitch really raised? Does Mitch have half-siblings?

Also, Aspyn mentioned on social media prior to her wedding that she would not be having traditional attendants but rather several of the younger girls in both her and Mitch's family as flower girls (I think 10 total!) and that her dad would be wearing a kilt in solidarity with Mitch. We've seen pictures from the wedding of the two of them in their kilts--was Mitch's dad at the wedding and did he wear a kilt?! Or, was this just an attention getting device reserved for Kody as father of the bride?

Mitch's sisters posted pictures of themselves with their respective families at the wedding (one sister is Vanessa Alldredge of the Alldredge's on Seeking Sister Wife) Hannah made Mitch's sisters hats to wear. Now I am going to sound catty---Christine mentioned several times Aspyn's wedding would differ from Mykelti's in that it would be an elegant wedding (wonder what Mykelti thought about this!) and knowing Aspyn is Kody's oldest daughter (with the royal plyg blood of Christine) joining together with another royal AUB family---well, it only makes sense that this wedding should take on royal proportions. Sure looked like they were trying to copy a royal wedding! Several little girls dressed all in white as her bridal attendants....no adult attendants...all the women wearing English style hats (they were definitely not "American" style formal summer hats) Kody and Mitch wearing kilts (I guess as close as the two of them were going to get to a military uniform!) so this was Christine's version of a royal wedding!

  32. Just got notified that 4034 Wild Eagle Circle just sold for $603,000.00. I’m amazed they got this much money for that builders grade house. Count me as wrong on the value of these houses. There are just so many nicer homes in that price range, zip code than these. It is a far cry from the staring price of $699,000 that they started marketing Christine’s home. This house was listed at $619k to start.

  33. I was reading online and came up with information/dirt on seeking sister wives.

    1. Jeff Alhredge has another wife and another set of children who are not on the show. His first wife is closer to his own age, did not want to appear on television and is having relationship issues with her husband. I can’t blame her it must be hard to watch him start families with two younger wives. They are still legally married and he still considers a wife, despite them being largely estranged. The wife they are seeking is a fourth wife and not a third. They try to avoid speaking of her on the show, as she wants nothing to do with the show.

    2. The wife Vanessa is the older sister of Mitch who is marrying Asypn from Sister wives. Vanessa and Jeff also first met in the home of Kody Brown

    3. The Briney family was going to be on season two, until in the middle of the fliming April said she was going camping and took all her kids. She went back Utah, would not speak to any of them or let any of them see the kids. April the first wife was the wife who was clearly being bullied on television by her husband and his two other wives and clearly was brought into polygamy kicking and screaming. The family agreed to still flim this all, but TLC pulled the plug, saying it was too dark and intense for their show.

    4. The Snowdens have an ex sister wife who has been on social media saying that Dmitri is verbally abusive to Ashley when the cameras are off, as well that the family are dishonest about what they want in a sister wife.

    2. There is a picture of first Alldredge Wife at Robchyn and Kody’ s wedding. She is turned away from camera so no face shown but her hair seems to be the more traditional FLDS linger style. A young Vanessa on his other side, all sitting. Jeff and Kody have been friends for years and the article claims that Vanessa and Jeff met at Kody’s house. It also mentions that Mitch is likely the Grandson ( or son) which I don’t believe son, of the infamous leader of AUB, Lynn A Thompson whom is the aledged molester and father of Rosemary Williams from My 5 Wives, whom publicly shared her abuse. Those allegations contributed to the end of that TLC show. So this all may contribute to why we see nothing about Mitch’s father or infamous family. A little to much icky-ness as far as I’m concerned. If anyone here close to situation could maybe share what relation Mitch is to Lynn A Thompson. Son? grandson? Nephew?
Either way they are all related somehow including Aspyn and Mitch...cousins, how far removed depends on Mitch’s parents.

    3. As for the Snowden’s they seem so fake. Some made up “ religion” and lifestyle in an attempt to keep her unfaithful husband close to home and controlled. The addition of wearing a dot on her forehead this season seems to be another development in their ever evolving “ lifestyle-religion-vegan ways” They are clearly looking for attention and fame and money. Have they ever mentioned what either do for a living? Sorry I don’t remember because I usely tune them out. I find the FLDS storylines at least more interesting from an anthropological study of generational conditioning of beliefs. But that’s just my opinion.

    4. Anon 2 here.

Wow Anon!! Wow! Good info. That definitely makes all these people more interesting. So Jeff and his 1st wife are they only estranged when the show is being filmed or was she already not living with them? If she was already not living with them and not being part of the family in any way, then how is she considered a wife??

The Briney family would've been interesting to watch this season. Come on TLC not all polygamy is weddings and road trips. Real stuff happens. And April taking the children and fleeing is real and honest and brave.

I would not have guessed that Dmitri would be verbally abusive but I totally believe it. I can even understand Ashley better. I can understand why she comes off as disingenuous. I think I even remember her saying that their diet was Dimitri's thing and she joked that she would eat cupcakes all day if she had it her way.

    2. She has some nerve to be so transparent. Does she really need to flex her muscles? She has manipulated the legal marriage, spends more nights with Kody (especially when new babies come, yank him around by his “ you know what” and now has a million + rental...twice the house of any other wife. And you know darn well the party line will be...” Robchyn got the bigger, fancier floor plan on the new build because we will all meet there for family functions. Come on Browns’...we know you will all meet the because Kody lives with Robchyn the majority of the week and Robchyn has disenfranchised all the other wives and calls ALL the shots. Kody constantly says “we’ve decided or we’ve figured out” in most conversations and you know he is referring to he and Robchyn. All the old mares are just around as older sister/aunt relevance. And Meri is a complete outsider, distant relative that seems to be a burden. But it is rather interesting how Christine has come from behind and now claims 2 nd wife status of favoritism as her “ keep sweet campaign “ has really appeased Kody and Robchyn.

  39. The scenes between Meri and Kody and their trip to Flagstaff were just so cringeworthy (two beds in the hotel, Meri asks which bed do you want?) and awkward (feeble attempts at flirting).

    2. Meri and kody stayed at Little America Hotel. It’s the most expensive hotel there. There are lots of hotels and motels in flagstaff. Meri is just trying to throw kody under the bus and make him look bad on camera. She’s been doing it for many seasons now. She is still playing victim and kody could care less.

      Delete
    3. OMG, I totally agree! Meri's flirting was absolutely nauseating! She reminded me of an awkward young "tween" with a crush on someone! And her desperate attempt at physical contact (wanting him to hold her hand or put his arm around her) grossed me out and yet on some level almost made me feel sorry for her!

      Delete
    4. Meri is so thirsty it is so sad and I’m embarrassed for her... but it’s hard to believe that Kody matters and she wants to rebuild with him because we all heard those tapes of how much she despises him (at least back then). I’m not sure I personally could get back those loving feelings after all the emotional infidelity. So I tend to believe Milo here regarding Meri’s attempt to show the camera how “ mistreated “ she is in the family. Her choosing to show how Kody is cold if not down right repulsed by her only makes her look cringe worthy, pathetic and so sad. It is hard to watch.

    5. I'm wondering if it is a bit of both going on with Meri? She is so passive aggressive that I can totally see her wanting to make Kody look more of an Ass than he already is. That didn't initially occur to me and I thank everyone for their comments pointing that out!

However, I am also trying to picture a woman like Meri living without any physical affection/intimacy/companionship. I just don't see her wanting to be celibate and if she has decided to stay with the family/Kody I am assuming she is scared sh*tless about exposing everyone to another catfish or online affair. What are her options? She can't date or have a secret boyfriend - not when she is a "reality tv star!" I think she is both wanting to punish him and make him look like an Ass while still desperately craving his attention.

      Delete
    6. Oh yeah, she desperately seeks affection even when Kody is her only option. There is a tick there. She seems very hard to love and so does he. They just don’t seem to have any chemistry since Robchyn joined the family. All the sacrifices made within their ( Kody and Meri) are all one sided, as these patriarchal religions are. But she did have status of first/ legal wife and now all that has been stripped away I don’t know why she sticks around being such an outcast...untouchable. ( pun intended)

Anyways, I watched a rerun of impractical jokers instead. I think I'll watch it just to see Meri embarrass herself.

  43. Agree...the so, so fake scenes btw Meri and Kody were unpleasant at best, and cringing at worst.
Meri never learned to stifle her awkwardness on camera. She still comes off as a bumbling schoolkid having to stand in front of class and read something...and doing it badly.
Does TLC wave extra bonuses in front of them to entice their compliance to do scenes that are humiliating....and blatantly bogus???
They must have some extra incentive for Browns agreeing to do so.
The list is long where wives have "acted" out degrading scenes...even ones exposing their own kids to undue TV scrutiny.
A few that come to mind...
Sobbin's tearful, sobby, ludicrous, ridiculous, just plain inane cookie-sex talk to the kids. That was embarrassing...and we only had to watch it!

Janelle's weigh-in early on in the show....that would be demoralizing for any woman, let alone an obviously obese one. Talk about cringe-worthy !!

Christine's palpable humiliation on that rocky Texas beach when bullied by both Kody and the tag-along therapist to buckle under the master's wishes.

Meri's whole catfish escapade and poorly feigned confusion about it all after the fact. It was and still is madding to see such obvious BS nonsense.

Kody lecturing to a daughter with hoped for boyfriend present that kissing puts morally bad hormones in your mouth.
Did Kody have trouble keeping a straight face for that one? Did Mykelti? Let's hope so...

Janelle's young sons having a brother to brother fight and subsequent grilling by the parents on camera. Awful to watch that..

Sobbin laboring on camera with stepfather positioned in a front-row seat at the bottom of the bed as Kody is filmed stroking her inner thighs.

    Ditto for Maddie...
    Etc, Etc, Etc....and plenty more.

Agree too about the wide range and availability of hotels in Flagstaff.
Been there several times, great place !!

    1. Wow Amused we could go on and on with humiliation of the women. I can’t think of Kody's On screen humiliation other than being an all around dead beat grifter. My favorite cringe scene was the nacho eating reinactment and complete disgust towards Christine, Kody had/has because she was not “welcoming” to Robchyn. For me that was the topper. For Christine to endure that for money really shows how mercenary these people have always been.

  44. Why does Christine repeat herself constantly? She says so many back-to-back sentences that are simply repetitions of the same thing "It's a big deal (dill)." "It's a really big deal (dill).". "For our family, this is a big deal (dill)." etc. It makes me want to pull my hair out.

  45. Oh wow!... was the comment from Janelle when Yasabel snaps at Meri, wow, oh wow was very authentic and my thoughts too. So I’m not sure anyone else noticed but about 10 minutes in everyone sitting around talking about flagstaff and Yasabel ask about homes...” Are we all going to get houses together or one big house...” then both Kody and Christine say , “ Do you want one big house?” Yasabel quickly says NO and Meri quips, “wait, what do you have against me Yasabel?” And then the producers put in closed caption so we can read exactly what Yasabel says because everyone is talking at once and she says...

Meri: Wait, what have you got against me, Yasabel?

    And she says quickly

Yasabel: You know what , Meri? Everything.

And Janelle says “ oh wow” like she does and Meri makes some weird mad-mug face.

Well I thought it was pretty sad since Yasabel was one of Meri’s if not her favorite bonus child. They had a connection and now after Meri’s indiscretions and her mom not feeling Meri is “safe” anymore you can clearly see how the kids feel about Meri. That coupled with Maddie’s monster comments, Meri is truly not part of the team. She seems to have alienated everyone for years and the CF was the final straw. Out of the mouths of babes.

    1. Yes! The kids' issues with Meri were also made more apparent this episode when Kody was talking about Meri needing to repair relations with him and he went on to say Meri needed to make behavior changes. Kody then specifically said Meri needed to change her behavior with regards to the kids. I was pretty shocked he would say that on camera. I wish I had rewound to get his exact quote for everyone, it definitely startled me!

    2. When Kody and Meri check into hotel the TH segments explain that they are platonic and that if they want to evolve Kody say that he has to change in the relationship with Meri... and Meri has to change in the relationship she has with him, ...the rest of the family .....“ and change even with the relationship she has with the rest of the children”
We see her own daughter seems to not want a relationshipwith her, so relationships with those bonus kids seems even bleaker. You know those older kids ate up everything they could on the internet about Meri’s crap and I’m sure they all felt betrayed. The recordings and photos were pretty gross. And she has never been a favorite of any of the 2 nd and 3 rd wives kids. She just had nothing in that emotional piggy bank that would have bought her compassion. We have seen her be tough on all the kids so we know that she felt entitled with her first wife status prior to divorce.

  48. We've seen up close just how nasty those cold sores are on Kody's wives so I was really fascinated with Ashley's approach on "Seeking Sister Wives" to insisting Vanessa undertake a 21 day detox so her pH balance would line up with Ashley's and "prevent them from passing yeast infections to one another." I got the biggest kick out of this!! Could not quit laughing at their stupidity.

I think passing a yeast infection between the women is the least of their worries! I am ashamed that I am even watching this show it is so ridiculous! How about if Dimitri simply takes a shower after intercourse??

Again, these idiots always worry about the wrong thing. Maybe Ashley is concentrating on this phantom yeast infection because considering something more serious like STD's ( the ones you can't get rid of like herpes) is beyond her control?!

I can't wait to see Vanessa leave that crazy situation.

  49. This is by far the most disturbing episode ever of Sister Wives! Manipulation was running rampant this episode! My heart hurts for Gabriel. I really hope he was able to stay behind in Las Vegas. He was so articulate in expressing his very valid reasons for not wanting to move. Being in the top 10 of a large school is no easy task. And a varsity wrestler. He saw his future chances of scholarships slipping through his fingers. I think I am so bothered by this move because of the self-centered reasons behind it...Dayton going to college at NAU. It was supposed to be a financially smart move...take their equity and move somewhere cheaper. Now we know they sacrificed all those kids for the sake of one! Something else that bothered me was the couch interview with the 4 older high school students. What was up with Ysabel and Gwendolyn's hair flipping and funny faces?! And Gabriel telling them he knew about the move first because he basically is the most important (according to him!) Finally, I don't like Mitch and Aspyn together. He seems cold. As a side note, all their new homes in Flagstaff are easily found online through the White Pages. Pictures, prices and all!

    1. Yeah, Robchyn has no problem sacrificing all those other child and wives for her oldest son. It shows she has no empathy or care for the original family members. That’s why she is so amazed when Aspen or others introduce her as their mom. She doesn’t give a crap about anyone but herself, her kids and her wants and She seems to tolerate Kody to meet her needs. Her fake worry look about others just makes me want to slap her big square head. Who does she think she is fooling? She now feels so brazen she just announces Dayton is already accepted to the school in the town they are “ considering “ wink wink to move to and uprooting all those other kids. Can’t they hire a coach or assistant to help Dayton navigate the college experience? I bet the school even has some type of assistance available or volunteers or something??? Did she even try to find an alternative before yanking Kody leash and getting him to go full manic on the new exodus? Doubt it!

    2. Anon2 here, yes Lisasumms, I can't understand why the other wives don't call her out on her selfishness. When Kody did his ridiculous presentation, at the beginning Meri asked Robchyn if she helped Kody prepare that. Robchyn denied it, but we all know that's not true. Then during the presentation Robchyn kept chiming in acting (horribly) like she was just then convinced and realizing that this move had to happen now. She's so obviously fake. If I were the other wives, I'd call her out and let her know I see right through her games.

  50. I think Meri sees the writing on the wall for this family. She stated that if the families reconstructed the process for the Flagstaff homes that they did in Vegas it would take about 2 years for completion. That's a prescient timeline, for probably by then the show will have run its course, she will have moved to a condo or back to Parawan, Kootie and Robyn, along with their trusty sidekick, Christine, will be sharing a home/acreage, and Janelle will sell her lot and find somewhere cheaper to live.

I just don't see this family hanging on too tightly after the cameras stop rolling. Robyn, with this last ham-fisted tactic, put the last nail in the familial coffin. However, she have Kootie all to herself, which is what she wants.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Anon2 here, I doubt she'll want him after the cameras stop rolling. Someone on this blog mentioned the other day that she likely only agreed to be the 4th wife when she realized there was a TV show. I totally agree with that. I would love it if Meri and Janell got out. That would make for a great series finale! I would watch their spinoff show. I would love to see them date and learn what it is like to truly be loved and respected by a man.

    2. Yes, we have talked often about the gossip in their AUB church that when Robyn got wind the Brown's were considering doing the tv show, she made sure to drive a great distance to Lehi to ostensibly visit a relative. Robyn attended their Sunday church service and sashayed by Kody with those longggggg legs!

Considering Kody's courtship with Meri was 2 months and nonexistent with the other 2 wives it must have been agony for him waiting for Robyn to "decide." This is a quote from Robyn ""it took months for me to be convinced that it was right. I was making sure this time that I had found my soulmate." (I paraphrase this as "I need to make sure the show was a go and a done deal before I tied myself to Kody.") I believe she really did drag the courtship out with Kody waiting for the production of the show. It would not have been half as much fun for her to have already been married to Kody when the show started filming---how would she have captured on film trying on wedding gowns, planning her wedding and disappearing on a honeymoon to really stick it to the other wives?!

      Delete
    3. Anon2 here, what?! Big Sky I didn't know that. That is juicy! That really makes me understand Robchyn so much better. She was so desperate to be on television that she really has to put in some effort to get Kody's attention. Oh and she said that she waited months to decide?? But once the cameras were rolling she has no issue kissing a married man that was on his way to be with his wife while she was in labor.

As much as I dislike Robchyn, I would like for her to really play up her role as the villain and divorce Kody and take him for half of everything he is worth. That would really teach the Browns a lesson.

    1. connie (Anon 3) This storyline of the surgery has been so misrepresented by the family. I have posted often about it because I have scoliosis and wore a back brace in high school. The whole conversation of "should we/shouldn't we" have the surgery was made up nonsense for the cameras. No orthopedic surgeon would even perform the surgery on her until her curve is over 50 degrees.
The surgery as Christine would say is a "huge dill." It is placing a metal rod up your back. It is the last resort and it wouldn't even be considered at this stage. All the talk of the surgery was beyond premature. The most aggravating part was Christine saying Ysabel should have the surgery for "aesthetic" reasons. The surgery is only performed when medically necessary as a last resort/ It is much better to wait as long as possible because mobility will be decreased. When/If her curve ever gets to that stage, then it becomes an issue of deciding what your quality of life will be. I have a 55 degree curve and have managed with physical therapy to maintain a better quality of life than having the rod in my back. At some point, I will probably have to have the surgery, but again, it is the last option---and it is NEVER performed by a surgeon for "aesthetic" reasons. I almost lost my mind when Christine said that!! It is ludicrous of her to suggest that somehow a curving of her spine shows up through her clothing but a scar running the length of her body wouldn't!!!

  53. A day late and a dollar short, but in one of the last 2 episodes, did anyone else notice that when all of the wives were talking about dating Kody, that Janelle said that she had never been on a date, or something to that effect? She said that she never did something, which struck me as odd since we all know she was married to Meri's brother before she married Kody, right? Or am I making this up? lol

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. No, you are not imaging things. Janelle was indeed married to Meri's brother. She knew Meri and Kody well before her divorce and then after when she decided that Kody Brown, husband of her sister-in-law, was the HOT GUY for her.
And since her marriage to Meri's brother was monogamous and not plyg, it likely had all the normal mono-relationaship rituals...like dating.
I think Janelle says half-truths or nonsensical statements sometimes just to avoid having to engage and say anything else. By her own words, she "checks out" when she doesn't want to participate in a discussion. Her couch time presence is mostly spent staring down at her shoes.

Also hard to believe that it never occurred to Janelle-the-Clueless that Meri just may have had a problem with her ex-sister-in-law coming on board for plyg duties. Not to mention the possible awkwardness created for Meri with socializing with her brother and her family with Janelle now being part of Kody's harem.

But then again.. none of what these people do makes much sense.

  54. Seeking Sister Wives - Episode 6

    Snowden:

Ashley’s 27 day detox diet rule to avoid yeast infections seems a bit out there. I see it as an attempt to subtly drive women off without looking bad to Dmitri. It does bring up and interesting point that when sharing a husband there is sharing of yeast, bacteria, cold sores and etc. I don’t think a special diet is going to remove the risk though.

Watching them a bit more in action, I think that Vanessa is the favorite wife. When I first started watching I thought they were a beautiful family with two wives who are both truly like sisters. When I found about his estranged first wife, it put a different spin on to me. I am finding from watching TLC that in plural families the wives tend to make alliances and that in plural families of 3 wives, there is often one wife on the outside. Like April in the Briney family. And Meri was probably on the outside and probably wanted Robyn to join for that reason (we saw how badly that went!). Also he sure likes Jennifer. I imagine the two wives have some concerns. Vanessa said she was a /little uneasy/. I always remember the cameras are watching. Their husband (they are competing) for will often watch their interviews eventually. With that in mind, I try to remember that a lot feeling are going to be masked or down played. A little uneasy, might really mean she is super anxious about it.

    McGee

Bernie is sure creepy. There is just something about him that has my creeper-dar ringing. Him saying it is romantic to cook with his wife for the potential sister wife was pretty funny. The girl they are meeting, seems nice enough, but it is weird that anyone would want to join that family. I don’t like how they are still talking about Paige being jealous. Like /so far no signs of jealousy/.I feel for Bernie to focus on Paige being jealous in his comments, is off putting. Especially since he acts too eager and odd.

    Winder

It is interesting that Sophie was raised plural and her mother was a plural wife and is happy about her choice. She seems calculating to me and like she is drawn to the spotlight. It also interesting that she has a lot of siblings in her plural and is the only one choosing to live the lifestyle.

  58. So the wives pointed out to Robchyn that they usually move every five years or so (as if she didn't know). But Queen Robyn wants to stay in Flag forever... Anyone want to bet they move again elsewhere? I'm betting they eventually move.

Flagstaff is expensive, and I don't see where their future income would come from. Meri's LLR business is going to be on the wane (MLM HQ lawsuits, the B&B income cannot be a ton and any income should go to maintenance/improvements/taxes/mortgage). Janelle's businesses never took off as far as I can see (Strive, real estate). Robchyn and her closet of crappy joolree cannot bring all that much... Christine has been a stay-at-home mom and hasn't shown any interest in working other than trying for a real estate license five years ago (didn't pan out). They have to be doing something other than just TLC$$ to support the upgraded cars they all bought, the land in AZ, the rental homes, mortgages in Las Vegas, etc. If they kept their original green goo territory and added to it.....amazing how these MLM schemes have paid off for these grifters.

Kinda throws a monkey wrench in things, don’t get me wrong they still got over the amount owed on home but bare in mind bought for $450k, sold for $603k, $24k listing price, $15k closing cost, couple thousand make ready (repairs, paint, cleaning) who knows if they had other loans for improvement like landscaping, maybe they netted $100k...so they definitely will have funds IF every house sells and the living money of paying for multiple, multiple mortgages doesn’t eat it all up. The twin sister of the girlfriend that is dating the black family (Sorry I can never remember anyone's names), she is the most real person I've seen in reality TV in such a long time. She seemed to not abide by the unspoken rules of these TLC shows. She said what everyone was thinking. That comment about being a nanny and housekeeper... Ahhh!!!! I was thinking that same thing at the beginning of the episode when Dmitry and the older wife were in the kitchen as relaxed as can be setting up flowers and making smoothies while the young girlfriend was trying to clean up with 2 little kids laying all over her stuff. I jokingly thought, hmmm, I should get myself a sister wife. I'm glad she pointed out all the red flags to her sister. I would do the same for my sisters.

  62. Is a successful "reality TV" supposed to be about watching the cast of characters just repeat plot after plot?? Let enough seasons pass and then simply just redo a former storyline with a new location but with basically the same dialogue, cast dynamics and scenes?
Maybe that is the accepted playbook for TV sitcoms, but it sure isn't working for Kodyworld.

To again watch Kody and his harem sit in someone's house, be it at a table or spread out on someone's peeling faux leather sofa/chairs and recite the same fake bewilderment, the same pretend shock of disclosures, the same covert looks and sighs, the same finger combing and stuttering, the same Kody hair-tossing and rodent-eyed darting, the same utter BS being passed around for the camera as they "dill" with their "fillings" yet AGAIN about moving...
THIS is Not going to keep the TLC money bankrolling the Browns to stay one the air.
This season is a colossal bore!

Even Kody with his brand new baldness-hiding perm complete with fresh highlights won't help the tedium of watching this crew of collective manipulators. They are too predictable now. There is nothing to interest even the most dedicated of snarkers. They are all one and the same...all bad actors, all grifters now skilled at scamming the audience.

    1. Even the producers seem tired of these grifters, and the Browns have become too confident and complacent in their schemes. Nobody in front of or behind the camera tries to suppress Kody's supreme rule or narcissism, or even their intense dislike of each other.

The plotlines have dried up. They can't move and mark territory every season. The daughters are married, except for Mariah, who moved away. The lost boys comprise the next set of children, and they were the first to swear off their father seasons earlier. The wives have declared that they won't have more children, and nobody wants to see the births of babies, spirit babies or "grandbabies." The show budget's not there for roadtrips, and nobody cares or notices if 5 adults travel in a pack, especially if the pack has no community or purpose wherever they are.

TLC won't show the inevitable personal and business bankruptcies or the delusion of Kody's political aspirations. So, they'll repeat themselves and their lies over and over to either convince themselves or us that polygamy should be legitimized, if not decriminalized.

    2. Amused and all...are you waiting with baited breath when the Janelle mantra begins ... we have finite resources, finite resources, FINITE RESOURCSE... fade away to Kody’s finite hair.

  63. Anon2 here, I totally agree. I am so uninterested in that show. There is nothing new, nothing spontaneous, nothing interesting. A move, a wedding, a road trip, and poor Meri -those are their storylines. If it wasn't for this blog I would have no interest in the show. I love having some where to have people call out the same bs I see, so it gives me a reason to keep try and watch episodes even though I fast forward through most of it. They need 5th wife or a separation, otherwise they'll probably get cancelled soon.

  64. Anon2 here I love that snideness between Meri and Robchyn. Kody went to Meri after chrChrist and Janel because he was saving all mighty Robchyn's input for last since she gets final say. And Meri called him out on it. And Robchyn tried to defuse it by saying because you're the first wife, but then Meri snapped right back with you're the legal wife. It was so uncomfortable. I loved it.

    2. So “ real” for a change, just like Ysabel snapping at Meri last week.
“Your the legal wife!” Finally the truth comes out...all that crap about adoption and having to be legally married for the kids. That was a transparent as as Kody’s wispy hair.

  65. Coyote Pass... So I'm sure it got the name because of the amount of coyotes that live there, and you can't even let your kids play in the dirt because of toxic prairie dog poop.

Holy hell! Sign me up. :D

And the amount of snark between Meri and Robyn was actually pretty awesome. I wish they would have expanded on THAT a little more, lol.

Robyn acts like such a pouty princess. Sorry but I don't get the appeal.

    1. I was concerned for the prairie dog population--a plague?! What a red flag. It looks a bit like those plains of Coyote Pass don't hold grass very well, and it seems rather windy at the base of the mountainous area--that shit (literally, the plague-infested prairie dog poop) can get in the wind and be airborne.

The dusty dirt formed a layer on their car windows. I thought that area would have more of a moisture content, but it looks dry like Vegas (though I'm a New Englander, so what do I know). Reminded me of the Grateful Dead song "Me and My Uncle"--where they had to try and wash off "some of that dusty dirt".

    2. Airborne- exactly Back in Black, what I thought when they said that about the toxic shit plagued soil. WTH it will be everywhere during construction and whistle through their homes always. This didn’t even make them hesitate with 3 kids under 10 that want to play outside. Haven’t they ever heard, “ the dingo ate your baby”??? Come on people...Robchyn even said that Kody wants to dig in the dirt with his kids. What, Next move in five years to a nuclear waste facility in the Tri Cities of WA at Hanford?

  66. Omg, I can't believe kody just told Meri that Mariah can move herself. After he just moved his married daughter and her husband. Can they not move themselves?

He is infuriating. And normally I think Meri is a big cry baby but they are really picking on her.

    1. It seems like years of pent up frustrations toward Meri are finally coming through on all fronts.

Did anyone think Janelle may have been pleased to "side" with Robin on the land purchase? Especially after all those years of Meri "getting her way" supposedly; going with Kody on all of his business trips and other trips, coming and going while living on 1/4 of the entire family income (before Robin) despite having only one child.

For me, that's the hardest thing to reconcile. I mean, hey, we get that Meri wanted more kids, but in reality she only had one. It does not make logical sense for her to receive such a large allocation of the family's resources.

In Lehi Meri had the top unit; lots of money for one kid to have all the clothes and stuff she desired. Christine had 6 kids to feed and clothe--and no money to go see her sick dad (Plyg Kingpin,no less). Seems like in Lehi especially, Janelle was the worker bee, and Christine was like a second class citizen. I've mentioned this before, because it truly leaves me flabbergasted.

Then Meri's kid gets to go to the super expensive liberal arts college while the other kids are at UNLV or the military. Well, and now Robin's fella will also be attending a state school (I think) that just happens to be in...

Meri always had top input with Kody, even after Robin came along, since Meri was still legal wife, and Kody catered to her. But then...remember on Meri and Kody's way to AZ when he told her (jokingly..not so jokingly) to "stop playing the victim!"?

Meri had an affair in her heart and mind; she betrayed Kody. Seems like she makes lots of excuses but never has accepted the error of her misconduct.

  67. Anyone notice the real estate agent has her face saved in Kody’s phone ? I wouldn’t be saving any random people’s photos in my phone, am I a rarity ?

  68. Wasn’t it sooooo funny when the nasty first wife, legal wife interaction played out between Meri and Robchyn and Robchyn quickly conceded that she is the 4th wife? Even she had a hard time trying to keep her giant square face from cracking up. She did not sell it at all. She know she is numero Uno !!! After all she is the sex wife as she proclaimed herself years ago. Come on Robchyn you orchestrated all of this 6 months before he rolled it out to the other wives. You said it yourself when Kody was overwhelmed when it all started coming together and land offer was accepted. Janelle said, “ I told Kody two months ago, we would have to rent for a year and it was a huge move” and Robchyn says, “ I told him six months ago all of this” whaaaat? Did you let this slip out Robchyn? You said when you were all called to the easel presentation, that you had no idea about what was going on, that you were surprised, even though Dayton got accepted to NAU and he needs you at this transition. You, Robchyn are shamelessly selfish and flaunt your superior status as the favorite wife calling all the shots. You even start “schooling” Kody on camera and harassing him until he bows to your wants. You have Meri written off and alienated from the family, manipulate Janelle whom you have never seen as competition and sycophant Christine immediately jumps on your bandwagon the minute you open your mouth. And now Patriarch Kody is so p***y-whipped that you berate him on camera. Oh please let hot real estate agent be number #5...please, please, please TLC. But you know darn well that Robchyn will burn the whole sub development down before she would allow that, that’s why she needed to move to a new state away from Mindy. Gotta isolate the village idiot before he ever marry a 5th. He said it himself, Ari’s his last kid, clearly Robchyn closed the kitchen. No more womb to rent, sorry Meri you missed your window.

    1. Anon2 here, oh my goodness Lisa you are on a roll!! Can I put some clapping emojis on here? Or some bowing my head emojis? That post needs to be posted on their social media page or somewhere for more people to see!! This is why I keep watching that show so I can understand the context behind those insightful remarks. Hahahaha!!!

From her giant square face to p***y-whipped Kody. You summed her up perfectly.

She knows what her place is in that family. She is the pathetic young-ish wife who has to have sex with a man twice her age, because the other wives are done. (Is he twice her age? Truth is she's only young by comparison, it's not like she actually looks like a hot young thing.) The other wives had him in his prime and know what a joke he is. So the smart ones don't set out to compete, they just crave some space. (Well the really smart ones get out of that type of relationship.) She couldn't succeed at anything else in life so she's using what's between her legs to try and get what she wants. I'm just statingf facts I'm not judging- plenty of other women in monogamous relationships do the same.

The show would be so much better if she would just openly accept that villain role and let the viewer in on what she's thinking. Then we'd be "in on it" instead of rolling our eyes so hard that we put ourselves to sleep watching the fakeness.

    2. I love that you used the word "sycophant" for describing Christine. She's really is doing her best behind the curtain to work the situation as best she can. Have you noticed all the shots of Kody in the bedroom they share, gathering up his things? I wonder if Christine's house is the new Mari's for keeping a majority of his stuff, or if the producers want to equate the bedroom quarters with an improved relationship between the two? Well, good for Christine if that's so--she sure has put in the time and effort.

And yes, Robin seemed a bit biting in her commentary in regard to Kody's (maybe genuine?) emotional breakdown. Honeymoon's been over for awhile I guess. Janell laughing while saying that she didn't care if Kody was mad at her revealed that there is a much more relaxed atmosphere in their complexity.

That realtor is a little hottie who is just looking to make her commission.

Robchyn should really just embrace her role and let the viewers in on what she's thinking. I would respect her a lot more if she wasn't so fake. If she went in saying, I want to figure out how to scheme and become the legal wife, I might have even rooted for her. Lol

  69. I work for a custom home builder in Canada. I don’t know how it is in the states BUT here utility tie in are very, very expensive and charged by the meter. If they have to tie in to gas, water and sewer and the lines are far (which I believe they are since this property is several kms outside Flagstaff. Electricity tie ins are prohibitive here. It wouldn’t surprise me if this added 100 to 150K to thier construction costs. Another example of how doing your homework is not a Brown family function.

  70. I’m from WA/Portland Or area. In my 50+ yrs have known many to build. In this region I’ve known friends to have short already developed sub-dev hook ups to be $10-$30 thousand depending on distance. However country living is another price indeed. One family member spent around $50,000 for long country driveway, closest developed home 5 acres away. And well water that is even thousands more., septic tanks etc, etc. I’d say in Flagstaff even more than our lower cost of living in rural WA state. Remember these are the same people that financed $5.00 mini blinds and washer/dryers in Vegas. Couldn’t even afford a staircase railing , just Sheetrock. I don’t know how they are going to swing 3 rentals and a purchased home in flagstaff, huge property mortgage on 5 lots (15 acres) and 3 ugly cheap ass barns in Vegas. I’d say foreclosure is a possibility in Vegas since they have little equity and can’t seem to sell them. Since they moved this last summer Vegas homes have been on market/empty for 6 months ??? Please anyone that knows stat better, feel free to ad correct time frames. And isn’t Robchyn in a million + rental? That rent payment has got to be a pretty penny. Wow, are these people billionaires? Oh that’s right, they con, charge, abuse credit, have collected welfare and food stamps and just file multiple bankruptcies and drops it on us, the tax payers and consumers that pay our bills. What a family of takers. But that’s ok, bleed the beast and steal from the Gentiles...I believe lying for God is a tenet of their “ religion”. Disgusting!
